This chapter is in Amy's POV. It will explain her feelings a bit more about how she feels about Sonic so I hope you guys love it.
Enjoy! :D
We were so close to each other. So close that I could feel his body heat. We stood there, staring at each other, afraid to move. I saw his green eyes snap to my lips for a spilt second before looking at me again. A felt his grip on my waist tightened, and my blush depend. His face got closer...and closer...until...
I jerked up from my bed, panting wide my eyes open wide.
What was all that about? Was Sonic going to...?
No. That can't happen. Can it?
*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*
My thoughts left my mind when I heard a soft knock. I got up from bed and walked quietly to the front door, Sonic still sleeping on the couch. Who's knocking this early in the morning? Honestly, when open this door im going to-
"C-Cream? Is that you?" I asked, my jade eyes widened at the sight of my childhood friend. She was a creamy colored rabbit, with dark brown hair and long creamed colored ears. She wore a cute orange dress with thick straps and a thin white belt at her waist, with white flats. I smiled looking at her big brown eyes.
"Amy! I can't believe its you!" She yelled, throwing her arms around me, making me giggle.
"Hey Cream. Why are you here?"
"What? I can't visit you now?" She said, clearly being sarcastic. She hasn't changed one bit.
"Well, you could have called me first. Maybe I would have been more prepared." I said, looking down at my pyjamas. I heard her giggle and laughed, not remembering that Sonic was still sleeping.
"...hmmm...keep it down...I'm...trying to sleep..." he mumbled. That caught Cream's attention, and turned to me with an eyebrow raised. Damn.
"What was that?"
"Um..." What am I supposed to say? The tv?
"Is there a guy in there?" She asked, eyes wide and filled with surprise that I would let a boy sleep in my room. And by the looks of things, she might get the wrong idea. She tried to pass by me but I stopped her from getting inside. She put her hands on her hips and pouted. She looked so adorable!
"Amy, let me in." she said sharply.
"I-I can't."
"Why not?"
"Because... it's a big mess in there." Nice one Amy. Nice.
"I think I can handle it. I bet your room is not as messy as your old room."
I blushed, remembering my old home with my trashy pink room. I never was good at being clean.
Without me noticing, she slipped in and gave a small gasp. Shoot!
She was looking directly at Sonic, her chocolate-brown eyes wide, her hand covering her mouth to keep from screaming. I let out a big sigh, and walked in,closing the door quietly.
"Why didn't you tell me you had a boy over!?" She whispered, but loud enough to make Sonic move in his sleep.
"How was I supposed to know you were coming?"
"You could have told me when you got here!"
"I didn't have time. Besides, he's a great roommate." I slapped my hand over my mouth. Shit, now what do I do?
"He's your roommate!?" she whispered. I hushed her and looked back at Sonic, finding him still asleep. He sleeps way to much.
"Okay, yes he's my roommate. But he's not that bad once you get to know him." I reasoned, keeping my voice as low as possible.
"That doesn't matter! What matters is that he's a boy and that-"
"You know I can hear you whispering right?" His voice was low and smooth, making me jump. I don't think I ever noticed how...sexy it was. Ugh, what's happening to me!
Sonic turned around and rubbed his eyes in such a cute way, and gave me those cute, sleepy eyes. Ah! He's so adorable! I realised that I kept staring and quickly turned away, blushing. From the corner of my eye I could see Cream's eyes narrowing a bit, making me nervous. And I have a feeling that she's going to confront me about it. I turned back to Sonic and cleared my throat.
"Um, Sonic...this is Cream. My friend from back home."
He turned to her and gave her a sleepy smile.
"...Hi..." he said quietly. I think even more quieter than Cream.
"...Hello..."
Anyone say awkward? I cleared my throat, getting their attention and began to explain.
"Sonic is my roommate because there weren't any room left so I got stuck with him. I tried to get another room but they were all taken. So I had no choice."
"You make it sound like it's a bad thing." He said. Is it a bad thing? I don't know...
"Did you at least tell your mom?" Cream asked, making me panic more. I need to change the subject, fast.
"Anyone want breakfast?" I smiled suggestively.
"Thanks Ames, but I'm going to take a shower first." And with that, he took his fine ass of the couch and of to the bathroom. Okay, these thoughts need to stop before I blurt it out if front of everyone. I guided Cream to the kitchen and got out some cereal. That reminds me, I need to go to the grocery store and buy the ingredients to make those chillydogs.
"Amy, what was all that about?" I heard Cream say, making me snap out of my daydream.
"What do you mean?" I cocked my head to the side, giving her a questioning look.
"The whole staring-at-him thing. Is there something going on that you're not telling me?"
"No! He's just a friend and my roommate. There is nothing going on." Is there? Do I feel absolutely nothing towards him?
I grabbed two bowls from a top cabinet and got out some cereal. I could see Cream from the corner of my eye staring at me. She doesn't believe me. I don't even believe myself anymore either. I'm scared of getting hurt again. Yeah yeah, I know. Sonic wouldn't hurt me, he showed me twice that he wants to protect me. But, I just want to be sure. You can never be to carefull these days with all these idiots who want to play with your heart. I'm just not ready. Yet anyways.
"Amy, if there's something bothering you can you please just tell me," I heard Cream say quietly. I turned to her, and saw how hurt she was. Her big brown eyes looked at the ground, full of hurt and on the verge of crying. I sighed and walked to the little fridge and got out the gallon of milk.
"I just...need time. Then maybe I'll be ready," I said quietly. Cream looked up at me, and gave me a small smile. I smiled back, glade that she didn't cry in the kitchen. That would not look right if Sonic walked in and found her like that. I heard the water from the shower stop, the door slowly creak open. Steam came out, along with a dark figure with a white towel around its waist. My heart stopped, me and Cream found ourselves staring with wide, open eyes. I don't even think I ever saw a sexier man ever...in my life!
There he is, soaking wet from had to toe, wrapped in only a short white towel that stopped right above his knees. His fur turned a dark blue, reminding me when he saved me from Jack. But this was a more...sensual shade of blue. He was drying out his quills with another towel, walking towards us. Cream got a magazine from the counter and pretended to read it, with a hard blush on her cheeks. Me on the other hand, kept on staring like an idiot. He looked so...sexy. I don't think my heart came back to life when his quills were all messy and spread all over like crazy. His green, beautiful eyes full of life and oh so much light. He gave me a sexy ass smile, which caused me to completely lose it.
I started to fall backward, my eyes rolling back. So...much...sexyness...
"Whoa! Ames!"
I heard wet footsteps running towards me, a wet yet warm hand catching my wrist and the other caught my waist. I felt his warm, wet body against my stomach and chest. I then got that same feeling that I got last night. Being in his arms, warm and safe. Wanting to curl up into a ball on his well toned chest and sleep all day. His strong yet gentle arms around my body, whispering in my ear that he love- AHHHH! STOP RIGHT THERE! NOW!
"Ames? You okay?" His voice entered my mind, making me blink and stare at his face again. Did I ever mention how amazing his eyes are? I noticed how close our faces were, and blushed furiously. Why does it feel so good to be in his arms? Maybe Rouge is right. Maybe I do love him. Maybe...
"I-l-Im fine." I stuttered.
He smiled and lifted me up to me normal position. Cream had her face shoved inside the magazine, not looking up. She lifted her head to look at us and pulled of an innocent smile.
"Hey Sonic, didn't see you there."
Really Cream?
"Well, I'm going to change and then I'll be back to eat breakfast okay?." I nodded, and he walked back to his room. Cream let out a big breath, like she's been holding it for a long time.
"What carnival?" Cream asked, putting down the magazine on the counter.
"There's a carnival for the students here on campus and me,Sonic and some other people are going. Wanna join us?"
Cream grinned from ear to ear and said, "Yes!"
I giggled, she can sometimes act like a child but that's what I love about her. She never seems to get to mature and always manages to smile.
Once Sonic came back, wearing a red shirt with blue jeans and grey fingerless gloves with his red shoes, we sat down and ate some cereal. I asked Cream if she wanted some but she had said that she wasn't hungry. When Sonic left, I got dressed in a black tank top with blue shorts and my red shoes. I wanted to show Cream around before we went to the carnival. No one had classes so today will be a relaxing day. Can't remember the last time I had one of those.
Just hope we run into Jack while I show her around.
I guess the universe didn't hear me correctly. I said 'I hoped we don't run into Jack'.
...and looked what happened.
The universe blessed me with showing Cream around and once we were finished, Jack came running up to us.
Why must you hate me?!
"Hey Cream! Long time no see, so what are you doing here?" He asked, trying to sound innocent.
"Hi Jack." Cream whispered, hiding her face behind her hair. It's not that she was afraid of him, she just doesn't like him. Me on the other hand, hate him very much with a passion.
"What do you want now?" I asked him, getting irritated.
"Well, I couldn't help but notice that you and Cream were walking around and I wanted to say hi. That's all." He shrugged.
"Okay then, well you said hi, and we're going to go so...bye!" I grabbed Creams arm and pulled her away from him. We were about to turn the corner when I heard him say,
"So where's the blue rat?"
I turned around and glared at him.
"His name is Sonic. And where he is should be none of your business."
"I'm surprised he's not here. He must be getting tired of you." he smirked.
My hand tightened against Cream's wrist, making her whimper a bit. I continued to glare at him, his cold blue eyes on me.
"Well you know what? I'm getting tired of you."
His smirk was still there, but I know he was getting irritated. Cream pulled on my arm, making my attention snap to her.
"Come on Amy. Let's just go, he's not worth our time." she whispered. She was right, he wasn't. I turned around at was about to walk away but then I heard him say,
"He wont be there one day. And when he's not there, you'll be mine."
To be honest, that scared me. It sent chills down my spine and I shivered a little. By now, Cream was tugging on my arm, begging me to leave, but no. I was not going down without a fight.
I looked back at him, his sinister smile still planted on his lips, his eyes colder than a blizzard. But I'm not backing down. I need to show him that I'm not scared.
But I knew that deep down inside, I was terrified.
"Just why do you want me back? I have nothing to give you and I'm sure as hell you don't either. So why?" I asked again, ignoring Cream's protests.
He looked at me, not saying anything. His eyes became colder, that same creepy smile still there. I wouldn't allow myself to show any fear, so I glared at him, thinking that the fire in my eyes could melt his.
"...Because you were mine to begin with. And I never let a girl go until she remembers me for the rest of her life. Consider yourself lucky, I let you go before it begun..."
And then he left, leaving my body shaking uncontrollably.
"You're mine to begun with..."
His words rung in my head.
"Before it begun..."
What does he mean by that?
"Amy that's too much!" I heard Cream's voice say. I blinked, and looked down to see what I was doing. Underneath me was a large bowl filled with a red, bubbling hot liquid with steam rising and hitting my face. In my hand was a cup filled with red powder that was almost half gone.
"Shit!" I retreated my hand and put the cup down beside me. I sighed and brushed the quills in my eyes, leaning against the large stove. Right after we met Jack, we went to the store and bought the ingredients to make the chillydogs I promised Sonic. After that, we asked if we could use the kitchen in the cafeteria to cook them sence the kitchen in my dorm is too small. I don't know how long we've been here but we managed to get three of them done.
But guessing by Sonic's appetite, he's gonna want more.
I felt Cream's hand on my shoulder and turned my head to look at her. Her eyes were filled with concern, making me feel guilty for being such an emotional wreck. Her voice was soft and barely above a whisper.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine.."
Am I? Am I really?
"...mine to begin with..."
"...never let a girl go until she remembers..."
"...consider yourself lucky..."
"...before it begun..."
His words rang in my ears, haunting me. I couldn't get his voice out of my head. They were taunting me...yelling at me...laughing at me.
"mine...mine...mine..."
"Amy? Amy snap out of it!" Cream yelled, shaking me by the shoulders.
"Huh? Oh, I'm sorry. I'm...I'm fine, really," I assured her, give a small smile so she could belive me. Jack's voice was in the back of my mind, but I managed to mute it.
I guess the "smile of reassurance" didn't convince Cream. She still looked worried.
"This is about what Jack said, isn't it?"
"...yeah.." I whispered. There was really no point in hiding it anymore. She seems to always know that there's something wrong by the look on your face, body language, or whatever it is to make her know. Kind of like a super power. But there are somethings that aren't worth talking over. And I really don't want to talk about this now.
"How long?"
"What?"
"How long has he been bothering you?" she asked again, a bit more demanding this time.
"Cream, I don't wanna talk-"
"No. We are. Now how long has he been bothering you?" she looked at me sternly.
I sighed heavily and looked down at the pot filled with chili beneath me. The steam was hitting my face, making it hard to breath fresh air so I back off and leaned on the counter in the middle of the large kitchen, looking at my shoes.
"Not too long. I rarely see him so it's hard to tell when. But that's when I'm with Sonic though..." I explained.
Cream nodded in understanding, so I continued when she didn't say anything.
"But when I do see him, he starts to flirt and tries to make a move on me but other than that, nothing else," I said.
"Was Sonic with you?" she asked.
"Just once. And Jack really ticked him off...I'll tell you later," I said, waving my hand dismissively.
"Maybe he's afraid of Sonic. Maybe that's why he isn't around much," Cream suggested.
Ha. Jack may be an ass, but he's not a coward.
"No, I don't think so..."
"Well how about you stay close to Sonic while we're in the carnival. If he's not around when your with him, then he won't bother you," Cream said.
"Won't that be...I don't know...weird?" I scratched the back of my head while looking at the tiled floor beneath me. A dark blush on my cheeks.
Cream tilted her head to the side in confusion, raising a brow.
"How so?"
"Umm...I don't know...he could take it the wrong way," I reasoned.
"Well what other choice do you ? Either this, or having Jack as your own personal stalker," she shrugged.
I groaned. Why me?
"And besides, wouldn't you like to be a little closer to Sonic? Hmm?" Cream said, a smirk on her face.
Why, that little...
"I don't know what you're talking about," I turned around so my back was facing her, my arms crossed against my chest. My blush still there.
"Oh please Amy. You know you want that hunk of a hedgehog,"she giggled.
"CREAM!"
Honestly, where did she get that idea?
"O-Okay. We better hurry and get these chillydogs done before Sonic comes back," she managed to say through her fit of giggles, and went back to work. With friends like these, who needs enemies?
We came back in the dorm just in time, with a full plate of chillydogs steaming hot and just waiting to be eaten. I can't wait to see Sonic's face he sees these babies! He's going to be so happy!
"Hurry up Cream! I want to hide these before he gets here," I yelled while looking behind me at the tired looking rabbit, who was only a few feet away.
"I'm coming, woman!" she said in a hard tone, making me giggle. Once we got inside, I ran to the small kitchen and put the plate of chillydogs in the small fridge. Good thing they fit inside too. I went back to the living room, just in time to see Cream sit down on the couch, exhausted. That's when I remembered Cream's mom. I wonder if she's okay? And what about my mom?
"Cream, how's your mom doing?"
She looked surprised that I asked, but still said, "She's doing okay. She really misses you though."
Her name is Vanilla. She's a very sweet, kind and compassionate person. But can sometimes be a bit to protective of Cream to the point were she didn't allow her to date any guy unless she was through with high school. But she learned to accept that she was growing up, but she can still over do it with all the rules.
She was like a second mom to me. She taught me everything I know about cooking and some other stuff that my mom didn't get to do with me. She was always so busy with work that I considered Vanilla as my mom. But of course I didn't tell her that. That would break my mom's heart and Vanilla wouldn't know what to do if she ever found out she came between us. I felt a pang of guilt hit me, like a wave that went through my body. Drowning me in it.
"How about my mom? How is she holding up?" I asked, the guilt drowning me more.
I noticed that she froze up a little, and avoided my eyes.
"Well, she misses you terribly. But that's understandable considering she's your mother. But she says she's doing okay," she said softly, looking down at her shoes. We didn't have a stable relationship so she knows that this is a touchy subject. And with me having spent a lot more time with her mom instead of mine, she knows how heart-broken she is.
The door suddenly slammed open, causing both me and Cream to jump a bit. Sonic walked in, breathing heavily with sweat rolling down his face. His eyes were tired, exhausted that I thought he could pass out at any moment.
"H-hey guys..." he murmured in a low, husky voice.
"Sonic! Are you okay?" I rushed over to him and placed his arm over my shoulder, leaning on me.
I guided him to couch and set him down, gently. He groaned, his face coming together showing pain, but soon relaxed with his eyes starting to close while he breathed in and out deeply. Cream grabbed a cushion from behind her and started to fan him with it, removing some of the sweat on his face. We looked at each other, eyes filled with worry until I took it upon myself to make sure we was okay.
"Sonic, do you need anything?" I spoke softly. Seeing him like this breaks my heart, so I wanted to be as helpful as I can. His eyes barely opened and looked at me with so much exhaustion.
"Do you...have any...water?" his voice was low and dry, like an old man's voice.
"Yeah," I breathed. "I think we have some water bottles in the fridge."
I bolted towards the fridge and got out a water bottle. I ran back and sat down next to him, giving it to him.
At some point our fingers touched, sending waves of electricity through my body and back to my fingers. I felt a jolt of anxiety when he looked at me, eyes halfway open. He felt it too...didn't he?
"So, um...why do you look so tired? Did something happen during practice?" I questioned him.
He sighed, opening his bottle.
"Coach made me run all over campus for hours without giving any breaks. My whole body hurts." he groaned, opening the bottle slowly. He drank the water in one swift move, leaving the bottle empty and slumped back on the couch. I bit my lip, my eyes wandering around the room. What can I do to help him out? Hmmm...
Suddenly, my eyes lit up, remembering the chillydogs that we made for him to eat in the first place. I looked back at him, grinning from ear to ear.
"Will a snack help?"
His eyes were shining again, but still looked tired. He gave me a confused look before asking,
"What do you mean?"
I smiled and said, "You'll see."
I carefully pulled out the plate of food and carefully walked back, trying not to drop them. Cream had put the cushion down, and smiled when she saw what has in my hands. I placed it on the small coffee table in the middle of the room and sat back down next to Sonic. The plate was covered in aluminum foil, so his curiosity grew more at the sight of it. He sat up, groaning a bit, but managed to stay up right. Poor thing...
"What is it?" his eyes becoming more alive and warm.
I smiled and said, "Open it."
He looked at me again with wide eyes. But, his hand was already reaching out to remove the foil. He gave me a look that said if it was okay for him to do so, and I nodded.
He slowly removed the foil, receiving steam coming up to hit his face. His whole face instantly lit up, making me and Cream look at each other with glimmering smiles.
"Wow, you guys made these...for me?" he asked, his voice sounding astonished by our pleasant deed.
"Yup. Remember that bet we made the other day?" I asked.
He nodded briefly, his eyes glued on the food in front of him.
"Well, I decided that since we don't go to the carnival until later on, I could make those chillydogs I promised. And since Cream was here, I thought I might make more with a helping hand," I smiled. I gave Cream a thumbs up, receiving a small giggle from the light brown rabbit.
I looked back at Sonic, only to find him shoving a chillydog one after an another in his mouth at lightning speed. He must have been pretty hungry huh?
In no time soon, he finished the plate in less that 5 minutes! Damn! He sighed in content, a small smile on his lips.
"I like yours better..." he mumbled, his eyes closed.
I blushed, and giggled nervously.
"T-thank you,"
"You have crumbs all over your face Sonic," Cream pointed out, giggling. I looked over at Sonic, to only see that indeed his full muzzle was covered in crumbs. I began to laugh with her getting Sonic to join us. Cream went through her purse and got out a napkin, handing it to him. He wiped it all off and stood up from the couch. That's when we heard a ringtone that came from Sonic's pocket. I couldn't hear the person on the other line, but guessing from his smile, he knew who it was.
"Hey Knuckles, what's up?" his voice happy and back to its normal state.
Cream and I waited in silence for Sonic to get of the phone, and when he finally did, he turned around and looked at us with a big grin on his face.
"You guys ready to go to the carnival?"
Our faces instantly lit up, thoughts of all the amazing rides we could try ran through my mind. This is going to be so much fun!
That's when I remembered the "plan" Cream came up with in the kitchen. I have to stay close to Sonic at all costs if Jack is going to the carnival as well. Dang...
Sonic walked back to the bathroom, closing the door behind him. Probably going to take another shower. I turned to Cream, her face lit up and full of excitement. She stood up from the couch and gave me a sweet smile.
"I'm going to go back to the hotel that I'm staying in so I can change out of these clothes," she giggled.
I smiled and nodded, waving goodbye. I heard the sound of rushing water from the bathroom took off to my room.
Better get changed myself, then.
"Alright, everyone ready?" Sonic said, grinning happily. He was wearing a red shirt with black pants and his regular red shoes, along with black fingerless gloves. He also smelled like vanilla. (A/N: Not Vanilla the rabbit. As in... Vanilla. XD)
I was wearing a light blue tank top that said "strong & beautiful" in black bold letters, and blue shorts that stopped at mid-thigh with black flats. Cream was in a yellow sundress with a yellow bow in her hair, tying it together. She wore white flats also.
I smiled at Sonic and nodded.
We all walked out of the dorm and, Sonic locking the door and went on our way to the carnival. It was hot, but not hot enough to make you sweat. The carnival was being held at a park near by, so we didn't have to drive there. Instead, we walked and enjoyed the beautiful day. We talked along the way, getting to know one another a bit more. Well, Cream in this case. I, of course, had my camera with me and took a lot of pictures of Sonic and Cream talking. A few of the landscapes that we passed were very beautiful, especially with the sun setting in the background.
Once we got to the park, they told us that all college students got in free, and could ride as many rides as we wanted. Yes! This is awesome!
The carnival was filled with people, students and others who just wanted to have a good time. We came to the entrance and told the guy there that we were college students and got in for free.
"Hey guys! We were staring to think you would never make it," Rouge called out to us. Behind her were Tails and Knuckles waving.
Rouge was wearing a red shirt that fanned out at the bottom, hugging her curves perfectly; she had on blue booty shorts; which were like mine, but a bit more shorter. Mine stopped at mid-thigh. She also wore black knee-length boots.
Behind her, Tails was wearing a red shirt with beige cargo shorts and white Nike high tops. Knuckles was in a white shirt with a black leather jacket, blue jeans and Varsity red Air Jordans. We walked towards them and greeted each other.
Tails noticed someone behind me and tapped my shoulder.
"Who's that Amy?" He asked.
I looked behind me and noticed Cream was standing there, looking really shy.
"Oh! This is my friend Cream. She came here to visit me and I wanted her to come with me here to meet you guys. If that's okay with you," I said.
Rouge walked up to the shaking rabbit and looked down at her, intimidating her.
"H-hello. M-y name is C-Cream," she stuttered. Rouge suddenly pulled her into a hug, making Cream gasp in surprise.
"Hey Creamy! Nice to meet you!" she laughed, hugging her tighter.
"Y-you too," she said quietly. When they pulled out of the hug, Tails walked up to Cream, pulling his hand out with a thick blush on his face.
"Hi. I'm Tails," he whispered.
Cream shook his hand, a blush on her face aswell.
"Hi," she whispered back. I smirked at the scene as it played out. I'm going to have so much fun teasing her about this.
"You can see it too, can you?" I heard Sonic whisper in my ear, making shivers travel down my spine.
"What do you mean?" I asked, turning my head to see him. He pointed his finger at the flustered couple in front, a small smirk on his face.
I giggled, nodding briefly.
We continued to watch the cute couple; seeing how they would fluster and tramp on their words and their blush deepening with each passing second. I think I know where this is going. Sonic and I laughed quietly, Rouge and Knuckles soon joining us. Tails glared at us, his blush still there.
"Why don't you guys get some cotton candy?" Sonic suggested, pushing them to the small pink and blue booth. I laughed; they were so cute! All flustered like that!
"Alright, now that they're gone, let's have some fun!" Sonic cheered, grabbing my arm and pulling me to the crowd. Remember the plan. Stay close to Sonic, and everything will be okay. Easier said than done.
I never felt so tired in my life. Sonic dragged me on almost every ride in this carnival and I don't even know how many there are. And I'm pretty sure we got on more than twice on that roller coaster. But, I did have fun being with him. How he smiled and enthusiastic he looked when the ride would begin. Like a little kid when they were getting a present, how his face light up with happiness and joy.
But it's so hard to keep up with him! Damn his speed. But I did enjoy myself.
"How about we get on that one?" Sonic asked me, pointing to the huge roller coaster in which I could hear many frantic screams coming from it. It made me shiver.
"Didn't we go to that one already?" I asked, hoping to get out of it. I'm not good with heights. I'm surprised I even made it out alive when we rode the first one.
He chuckled and said, "I don't think so. Come on it'll be fun!"
He dragged me to the line, which wasn't to long, much to my dismay. He must have seen my slightly scared face because the next thing I know he starts laughing like crazy.
"What?" I asked, my eyes slightly wide from his sudden out burst.
"Y-you're... a-afraid of...h-heights!" he blurted out between his laughs.
"W-what are you talking about? No I'm not!" I protested.
He continued to laugh, getting strange looks from people in line. I hid my face in my arms, a blush spreading through out my face. I just wanted to crawl into a whole and die.
My hands suddenly left my face, my quills covering my face.
"Hey, its okay. You're not the only one with fears," he whispered.
I looked up, my jade eyes locking a gaze with his green eyes.
"What are you afraid of?" I asked.
He scratched his head, a small blush on his cheeks.
"Um...I'm afraid of..." he came closer to me and whispered in my ear.
"...water," he whispered.
And that, set me off. I laughed, and laughed so hard that my stomach started to hurt. (A/N: worts feeling ever!)
"Y-you're...HA!...afraid...of water!?" I managed to say.
He rolled his eyes, the small blush still there.
"Yeah, yeah. I get it, it's hilarious," he said. I stood up right and wiped the small tears from the corners of my eyes.
"S-sorry," I stuttered. "But why are you afraid of water?"
"Let me rephrase that. I'm not afraid of it, I just don't like it."
"But why? I mean, you take showers and that's using water," I explained.
"But it's not enough so it can kill me," he said. "The ocean is what can kill you."
"But why?" I inquired again, still not getting the point.
"Its just...so...wet," he made a bitter face making me giggle.
"Well of course it's wet, it's water," I pointed out.
"Exactly."
Our little argument was cut short when we noticed that we were the next people in line. When we both sat down, I could feel myself shake a bit. I jumped when I felt Sonic's hands around my waist trying to buckle the small seat belt.
He smiled and winked at me. "Just in case you fall off."
"Not funny," I glared.
He shrugged and I took a glance at the rails in front of me. The rails looked like they would go on forever and it made me sick to the stomach. The small cart suddenly jerked forward, making me jump. The bar that was in front of us moved towards us, closing in on our legs and locking us in place.
My shaking hands gripped the bar, holding it tight beneath my hands.
The trail of small carts moved forward, slowly going up a mountain rail. As we got closer to the top my breath quickened and my hands would grip the bar harder.
When we reached the top, I felt my breath get caught in my throat and my anxiety raising with each moment.
That's when we dropped...all the way down.
"AHHHHHHHH!"
Everyone screamed and cheered while I screamed in terror, holding on for dear life its self.
How can anyone find any joy in this!? I'm going to die of a heart attack!
I kept screaming, begging it to be over but the roller coaster seemed to disagree with me. It went on forever, carrying gleeful screams and raised hands that flew in the air. My hair was everywhere, going in every direction like it had a mind of its own.
We soon took a sharp turn to the right, taking my body and swinging it to the other side, bumping into Sonic in the process. My hands frantically left the metal bar and took hold of the warm body next to me.
I could hear his cheerful laughter rising from his chest and screaming it out for the world to hear.
How in the world does he enjoy this!? How can anyone?! This is straight murder!
My arms gripped Sonic's body closer and my nails digging into the skin in his torso. I felt him stiffen but soon relaxed when let go of his body a bit as the ride was slowly stopping. I peeked one eye open, and watched as we stopped at the same place that we started on. I let out a relaxed breath and retreated from Sonic's body.
"Do me a favor will ya? Cut your nails for me," he groaned.
I ignored his comment and walked out of the cart, shaking a bit while holding my stomach. All the turns and flips of that roller coaster really made me sick.
Ugh, I think I'm going-
I jerked forward and covered my mouth with my hand, trying to hold it in. I need to get to the nearest trash can. Fast!
"Ames! Do you feel okay?" I heard Sonic call out to me. His warm hand feel on my back, rubbing it in small circles. He kneeled at my side and looked at me worried eyes.
"I need a trash can...fast," I mumbled against my hand. He nodded and lifted his head to look around.
"There's one over there," I followed his finger to find a black container not to far from here. He looked back at me, wondering if I could make it.
"Do you think you can make it?" he asked. I nodded and carefully started walking with Sonic by my side. I could feel my stomach bubbling up inside me and slowly starting to erupt. I pressed my hand harder against my mouth and stopped for a moment to suppress it. I looked up to see where we were and then heard Sonic's voice to my left.
"We're almost there. Try and hold on," he said.
"I...can't...hold it...anymore..." I mumbled. Suddenly, I felt his hands grip my sides and pull me forward.
I put my hands out trying to find the trash can and once I found it, I lunged straight at it and ducked my head inside. Everything came out all at once, flooding the large trash can with the fluid that was once inside my stomach. I felt Sonic's hand on my upper back and with his other hand grabbing my hair out of my face so it wouldn't get dirty. When I was done, Sonic got me a bottle of water so I could get the awful taste off my mouth and kept giving me apologetic looks.
"I'm really sorry Amy. Are you sure you're okay?" he asked for like the hundredth time.
It made me gitty inside that he actually cared so much and couldn't help but giggle a bit.
"Yes Sonic. I'm fine," I smiled. He still looked a bit worried, but still gave me a warm smile.
"Hey, what about if I make it up to you?" he suggested.
I tilted my head to the side and asked, "What do you have in mind?"
He smirked and gave me a thumbs up while winking at me. He looked so cute when he did that!
"Follow me and I'll show you."
Before I knew it, he took a hold of my wrist and led me to a large booth with different stuffed animals decorated on the top.
"Which one do you want?" he asked me.
I looked at all the stuffed animals and pointed to the one a wanted. It was cute white bear that hand a small red heart in its hands that said "I love you."
"That one."
He followed my finger and gave a bright grin.
"Gotcha."
The object of the game is to try to knock all the cans down and then win a prize. It looked really easy so I'm sure Sonic would have no problem with it. Sure enough, he knocked all the cans down in his first try and reseaved a prize.
"There ya go Ames, hope you like it," he said, giving me the cute bear. I hugged it close to my chest and smile.
"Thank you Sonic. You didn't have to make it up to me though," I said, releasing the small bear so it was resting on my stomach, my arms around it to keep it from falling.
He grinned and said, "Its okay, I wanted to anyways."
I felt heat on my face and raised the bear up to cover it. Sonic's phone suddenly rang, our eyes snapping from each other to his pocket.
"Hello?" he asked into the small device.
While he was talking, I looked around to see if I caught something interesting to keep me bussy. And that's when I saw him.
Hiding behind a cart that sold popcorn, Jack looked at my direction. Even if we were far apart from each other, I could still see the smirked planted on his lips. I let out a small gasp, careful not to get Sonic's attention while he talked on the phone. I took a sudden interest in my shoes, diverting my eyes from the grey fox. When I looked up again, he was gone.
Oh no. He's up to something and I know it.
"Ames?" I neard my name called out and looked at the blue hedgehog beside me.
"Yes? What's up?"
"Knuckles just called and said that we should meet at the front of the gate. The park is closing soon so we better hurry," he said.
We've been here that long? I looked over to the horizon and saw that the moon was now up in the sky, followed by a couple of stars.
"Ok, let's get going then," I said, and started to walk towards the gate.
When we where half way there, I felt something missing from my neck.
"Damn it! I left my camera in the bench near that large tree. I'll be right back," I was turning around to go get it when I felt him grab my arm.
I looked back at him, tilting my head to the side.
"I'll go get it. You go ahead and get to the gate," Sonic said, a bit of worry in his voice.
"Sonic it's not that far, I can make it back in time," I reasoned.
"I know, it's just..." he trailed off.
I watched him let go of my hand and put his hands in his pockets. He looked down at the floor, shifting under his weight.
"It's dark already, and I don't want you to...you know..." he said, starting to blush a bit.
I giggled a bit, but thought it was cute for him to care for my safety.
"I'll be okay Sonic. I'm a strong girl that can defend herself. And besides, I got a hammer in which I can summon at any time. There's no need to worry," I walked up to him, putting a hand on his shoulder and giving him a warm smile.
He sighed, his shoulders slumping down.
"Alright," he mumbled under his breath. "Just be careful."
I nodded, and ran back to where the huge oak tree was. I really wasn't that far, but it was really dark. My only light source now was the moon and the stars.
In the distance, I could see the large branches filled with leaves and a small bench in front of it. This was noe of the few trees in the carnival, usual for people to relax after runningb around. I could see a small dark object on the dench and assumed it was my camera.
I picked it up and checked if it was fine. Fortunatly, the film was still there and it didn't looked tampered with. I let out a sigh of relief. I don't know what I would do without it. It's the only thing I have from my mom.
I was ready to turn back when I felt a cloth in my face, making it harder to breath. Suddenly, a strong arm wrapped around my stomach, pressing my back against someone.
I tried to brake free but they were to strong. My body started to feel weak and my eyes started to close. That's when I knew that the person behind my must have put some kind of chemical to make me pass out.
As my body was becoming numb, I heard a whispering voice from behind me.
"...I told you you were mine..."
And everything went black.
THERE! DONE!
And its longer so...hope you're happy. XD
