Chapter nine
Sonic sat up and rubbed his head then looked over at a struggling Alfred. He growled and got up, walking over to them and stopped right beside the two on the ground. Sonic clenched his fists and teeth. He swung his leg back and propelled it forward, kicking the demon hard in the head. This move gave Alfred the upper hand and he charged at Andre, being one to pin him down this time. Alfred spoke a binding incantation then got off the demon.
"Bring. Shadow. Back!" Sonic ordered with a very angry tone through clenched teeth as he narrowed his eyes at the bounded demon on the ground.
"Ha-ha no damn way, he's getting his I tell ya that much. Even if I could I wouldn't." Andre chuckled deviously then received a kick in the side by Sonic.
"Wrong answer bitch." Sonic growled then he was held back by Alfred from ripping the demon apart in rage.
"Sonic if we have any chance of getting Shadow back then we are going to have to keep calm. First things first, I'm sending him back to hell." Alfred softly said then looked at the fearful demon on the ground.
"No please, the king will know I have failed him." Andre panicked as he spoke with wide eyes.
"Tough luck for you then." Sonic frowned in hate then looked away as Alfred did the deed.
Screams from the demon hit Sonics ears and he couldn't help but to chuckle to himself at the demons suffering. Alfred put a hand on Sonic shoulder when he was done and teleported them back to Sonic's house. They appeared in the kitchen where his mother was worryingly pacing up and down, that was until she saw her son. Bernadette ran up to him and embraced him into a tight hug.
"Mum, they took Shadow to hell." Sonic cried into his mothers hug sadly.
"Shh, we will get him back somehow." Bernadette assured softly as she stroked her upset sons quills.
"I will return to the school and send Blake to hell, that's if Nancy or Jenny haven't already. Nancy is going to be so distort to find out about Shadow." Alfred sincerely said then vanished.
Back at the school there were fire engines parked outside and the school ablaze. Alfred looked around at the crowd of people in search for his fellow angel but couldn't see them. He began to walk around until they both came into view. He approached them with sad features when he locked eyes with Nancy.
"Where's Sonic and Shadow?" Nancy asked with a high levels of concern for the two hedgehogs.
"Sonic is at home with his mother and is very upset…Shadow has been taken to hell by his father. We underestimated the effects the demon king has on Shadow and he calmed Shadow into a state of security, they are both in hell." Alfred related what happened with a sad expression as Nancy broke down in silent tears.
"Blake has been sent back to hell, he's the reason the school is burning. No one was caught in the blast apart from us and him." Miss Sharps, also called Jenny, announced in a serious tone.
"Right thank you. Now we need to find a way to get Shadow back. It was easy the first time because we had the element of surprise so this time it will prove difficult." Alfred said then gasped as a voice was heard.
"We are helping too. Shadow is our friend and we want to help in any way we can." Rouge said with a serious tone and crossed arms, standing in front of Knuckles, Tails and Amy, who were behind her of course.
"This is going to be very dangerous and I will not have you all get hurt…saying that we need as much help as we can get. Alright I will teleport us all to Bernadette's home where she and Sonic are." Alfred sincerely said then smiled warmly at the friends.
Alfred motioned everyone to come close to him, which they did, and teleported them all to Sonic's home wihout being seen since all around were watching the school burn. They all appeared in the large kitchen and all looked at Sonic with sadness as he was still hugging his mother while sobbing his heart out.
"Sonic, don't worry. We will get Shadow back where he truly belongs." Amy softly said as she walked over to her brother.
Sonic looked at her as he continued to hug his mother tightly. His cheeks were tear stained and his eyes puffy from crying. Sonic forced a light smile at his sister just to try and cheer himself up a little. The hug was finally broken and Sonic rubbed his eyes dry.
"Y-yeah." Sonic whispered softly.
"Bernadette, Is everyone alright? The school is burned down, it's all on the news." Jules called out as he rushed into the house, coming home from work early, and ran into the kitchen.
He paused and stood by the entrance with a raised brow as he looked at everyone. He cleared his throat and mentally sighted at he saw the kids were all fine and safe.
"Oh good no one was hurt…where's Shadow?" Jules smiled then looked to his son, who burst out crying again.
"Was it something I said?" Jules thought as he gave a confused look.
"Come my friend, I will fill you in with what's happened." Alfred said as he guided Jules out of the kitchen.
In hell…
Shadow was slowly opening his eyes then shot up, only to fine he was laying on his bed, in his room at the palace. He quickly got to his feet and ran to the door, only to find it locked and bolted from the outside.
"Damn it all." Shadow hissed through clenched teeth.
Shadow took a few steps back and looked to the balcony doors. He smirked and walked over then laid a hand on the handle when he reached there. He pushed it down and tired to open the door only to find that locked too. Shadow sighed and rested his forehead on the glass door, looking down to the ground. His bedroom door was unlocked and opened by the demon king. He smirked darkly at seeing Shadow awake and at the look of despair on the reflection of the glass door. He walked over to him and laid a hand on Shadows shoulder, making Shadow flinch at the touch.
"Welcome home my son." The demon king whispers sinisterly in his sons ear, making a shiver of fear run down Shadows spine.
"Wish the feeling was mutual." Shadow muttered then hissed as his father dug his claws into his shoulder, drawing blood.
"You shouldn't mutter son, it is very disrespectful." The king of demons growled then released his hold on Shadow.
"I'm sorry father, I wont do it again." Shadow replies as he frowns down to the ground, not daring to move from his position.
"See to it that you don't. Now come my son, it's time for your punishment." The demon king said then dragged Shadow by the arm and out of his room with rough movements.
Sonic's house…
"Right so how do we get him out of hell?" Jules asked with a serious look at the angels.
"Right now the demon king is expecting us to come for him. He would have Shadow heavily guarded with his best and finest soldiers. We wont stand a chance against them all, he bread them to be stronger than ten angels put together. They aren't demons but artificial creatures under the demon kings control. He and Shadow are the only ones who could kill them, that's how strong and fast they are." Alfred explained with the same seriousness in his tone.
"How do you know Shadow can kill them?" Bernadette asked curiously.
"Because he attacked three and struck them dead with one blow under his fathers command. I witnessed it with my own eyes when instructed to glimpse into hell, I was then given the task to take Shaow away and you know the rest." Alfred answered truthfully.
"Right, I hate to imagine what Shadow is going through right now." Amy sadly said as she looked down to the ground.
"I hope not the bottomless pit again." Rouge whispers as she remembered what Shadow said about his experience down there and how fearful he was about it.
There was suddenly a knock on the front door and Jules rolled his eyes then left to answer the door. He turned the handle and raised a brow at the being standing there in the dark of night.
"I'm sorry to disturbed you all but I can help you get Shadow back from hell." Mr Tailor smiled sincerely then was allowed to walk inside.
They both walked into the now very crowed kitchen. The teens raised a brow at their religious history teacher in question of his appearance here. He grinned at his students and cleared his throat.
"I have the solution to your problem. It's not going to be easy and requires a sacrifice but it's not impossible. In my book, it has different incantations and rituals to drag a demon out of hell permanently. The one I'm referring to is a little challenging but not by much." Mr Tailor explained as his grin grew a little.
"What sacrifice?" Jules asked with suspicion in his tone.
"This one, and it's the only one that will effect Shadow, requires the blood of the demons mate." Mr Tailor answered then pointed to Sonic with a grin.
"One problem with that Sir but me and Shadow haven't exactly mated. I don't have his mark on me." Sonic sighed in a depressive way as his hopes on getting Shadow back vanished just as quickly as they came.
"True you don't have his full mark but you do have half." Mr Tailor replied with a soft tone.
"I do?" Sonic looked at his teacher with a confused look.
"He does?" Everyone called out at once, also looking confused.
"Yes, it will become full once you both mate…come here and I will show you." Mr Tailor smiled and motioned Sonic to stand next to him.
Sonic shrugged and walked over. Mr Tailor grabbed Sonic's hand gently and removed the glove then turned Sonic's hand over so it was palm up. He reached into his coat pocket and retrieved a special torch that shone a light green light. He flicked it on and shined it on Sonics palm. There in the middle of his palm was a mark, it was a thick circular ring with a funny looking symbol in the middle and the initials S.C. diagonal from each other, slightly overlapping each letter on top of the symbol. Sonic gasped in surprise and looked up at his teacher in shock.
"You will have the same mark on your other palm when you both mate." Mr Tailor chuckled lightly at his student's shocked expression then turned his torch off, putting it back into his pocket.
"So Shadows last name really is Casadonte`, I thought it was made up." Sonic said as he was given his glove back to put on, smiling as he did so.
"How did it appear?" Nancy asked curiously, looking at Mr Tailor.
"It would have appeared when they first kissed. In the event that mating doesn't happen within a couple of month after that kiss then it vanishes, as well as the memories of the demon. It would be as if you never met him." Mr Tailor explained with a slightly sad expression at Sonic.
"Well there is only one thing for it then, we need to get Shadow back before these two months are over and they can get busy in the bedroom together." Bernadette grinned at her son then winked at him when he looked at her with a tint of red on his muzzle.
"M-mum…you are so embarrassing." Sonic complained then his cheeks went a little redder when his father joined in.
"Yes Sonic, just make sure we can't here the two of you. I don't want to hear any sex noises."
"D-dad." Sonic called out as he covered his hands over his face in utter embarrassment.
"Anyway, what do we need to do for this ritual?" Rouge grinned as she glanced at her teacher.
"We need, a pint of Sonics blood, a summoning bowel, Shadows DNA and finally four black candles with an essence of lavender. It needs to be done on a full moon and at midnight in the place Shadow first arrived. I have the dagger needed in the archives so that's that sorted. We just need to get the rest and wait for the full moon, it is in a month from now so we have plenty of time to prepare." Mr Tailor replied in a matter-of-fact tone and smile.
"I have a question for you that i'mre i anot the only one thinking this. This ritual can earthbound a demon even when the demon is in hell, my question is what would you have done is Sonic and Shadow had mated and Sonic was in hell with Shadow?" Jenny asked as she looked at the school teacher.
"There is a ritual is drag the demons mate out first so the blood can be collected making both earthbound forever." Mr Tailor answered with a grin at the angel getting 'oh right' expressions from all in the kitchen.
