A week had passed to quickly for Mike and Kate and Kate was preparing her clothes for the one week voyage out on the deep blue sea. Kate had finished packing and put the extra clothes back in the closet, she quickly unzipped the cover to her wedding dress she glanced at it for a while before she heard Mike come up the corridor to their room.
"You getting ready?" Mike asked knowing that Kate likes to pack early before she has to sail.
"Yes I am." Kate replies while ironing her whites.
"OK then I am going for a run."
"Ok see ya sailor , have fun."
As Mike left for a run Kate pulled her wedding dress out and decided to try it on for one last time before she set sail this afternoon.
Mike and Kate were in the car on their way to NAVCOM to get the briefing, for Kate's patrol. They arrived and walked into Maxine's office.
"Kate I have your orders to sail, sadly it's just a routine patrol in the Arafura."
"That's fine ma'am. I will see you at the wedding." Kate smiles at Maxine and walks out of her office holding Mike's hand tightly for the last time for 6 days. Mike an Kate walked back to the car and opened the trunk, Mike pulled out her bag and walked her down to the docks.
They arrived at the docks and Mike pulled Kate into a hug and gave her one big kiss on the mouth. "We are going to have to keep emailing each other I don't know how I will survive without you here in Cairns."
"Oh I am sure you will keep." They kiss one last time and she walks away, walks onto the gangplank salutes and makes her way down to her cabin. Mike turns and walks away. Back to the car already missing Kate.
A/N Sorry this chapter really short and in the next chapter I am afraid I have skipped 6 days. I just need to get a wriggle on with this story.
