"It is impossible to say that a beautiful cup is better than an exquisite one."
Monty Oum placed a mug on his desk.
He initially thought about putting the cleaned mug in his cupboard at the kitchen, but instead, he decided to bring it to his room. Under normal circumstances, he would not think about dragging up a white mug without anything in it.
A special circumstance called for an empty mug.
With the mug on his desk, he sat on his chair, watching the mug intently.
For the first few minutes, nothing popped out. Silence filled the air.
Then, like a butterfly crawling out of its cocoon, Ruby appeared behind a small plastic cabinet on the desk filled with drawing utensils. She poked her head out behind the cabinet, staring at the white mug with curiosity. Her curiosity hopelessly drew her attention to the simply object.
Oum watched the tiny girl walk over to the mug with her small legs. She soon stood in front of the mug.
The result of placing a mug next to the Little Rose was interesting. She was slightly taller than the mug, making Oum wonder how she would react to a thermos.
Then, the unexpected happened.
The dark-red haired girl began jumping, her tiny arms waving frantically in the air. As soon as her hands grabbed the round edge of the cup, she pulled herself up.
A few seconds passed by the time she tumbled into the mug.
Now that Oum thought about it, Ruby and her friends were strangely light. They were almost as light as large erasers, allowing them to jump into small corners and crawl into the closet. Whenever they entered the closet, Ruby, Weiss, and Blake had to pull the closet door together to make the thing budge. They always high-fived each other with the happiest smiles they could ever muster before vanishing into the closet to sleep.
A small tinge of concern entering his heart, Monty Oum loomed over the cup, hoping that the leader of RWBY was alright.
The girl sat still, hunched over with her large head right below the brim of the mug. Rubbing her head, the girl let out soft-pitched mumbles before looking up.
At the sight of Oum, she smiled and waved her arms in the air as if to hug his nose.
He then came up with an interesting idea.
Picking the mug up, Oum gently lifted the object up to his chest level before observing the girl's actions. He saw something admirable.
Standing on her feet, the girl poked her head out as she clutched the round edge of the mug, her smile never fading.
The leader of RWBY, in all of her tiny glory, stood like an animated Nendoroid, waiting for Oum to do something.
Barely preventing himself from dropping the mug out of emotions unknown to anyone else in the world, he focused on stopping the hand that held the mug from shaking uncontrollably before raising his free hand up to the girl. He then pinched her cheeks softly once before rubbing her head, evoking a soft laugh from her.
If this was his reward for working hard, he would work even harder to let Ruby and her friends receive love from the RoosterTeeth community.
After keeping an idle expression for the entirety of the situation, he finally broke out a small grin, which made the Little Rose lose it. She began to laugh because of him showing signs of happiness.
He then felt something tap his elbow, which had been resting on his desk to let him hold his mug for longer. Oum found his eyes falling on Weiss and Blake, who now stood next to his arm.
Weiss's eyes were shining brilliantly at the sight of Ruby being in a mug, while Blake seemed timid at the sight of her new friend being so high up in the air in a small object.
Monty Oum brought two more mugs to his room.
He soon placed all three mugs in a rough delta formation on his table. Ruby waved at her friends with a happy smile, while Weiss laughed with her hands on her hips as if she were the queen of the world. Blake, on the other hand, looked pleased with all three of them being close to each other on the table.
Ruby, Weiss, and Blake- three Huntresses who face trials emotionally, mentally, and physically challenging- were in coffee mugs, squeaking at each other with pleasantly happy looks on their faces.
And as Oum watched the three girls let out random noises and occasionally spin in the mugs they were in, he found himself collide against an interesting thought.
Maybe I'll try convincing my production team to make some RWBY coffee mugs sometime next week.
