Chapter 10
She landed on the wet floor with a grunt of pain. Her back sliding across the rain-slickened pavement, scraping her exposed back. She could feel the scrapes begin to bleed. She hissed in pain.
Fuck Slade and his obsessive and creepy personality. They had been fighting the mercenary when he had managed to separate them. He then proceeded to rip off her clothes, asking her if the action brought back fond memories. She shuddered when he brushed his hand over her breast. She managed to knock him back but not far enough. He caught up to her quickly and brought her down.
A steel-toed boot landed on her stomach, pushing the air out of her lungs.
"It's earlier than expected but I feel I should take you now while I have the chance."
Slade reached to grab her by her hood be was knocked back by a black blur. She was then quickly grabbed and teleported away.
She was still in his arms when they landed on the top of Wayne Tower. She pushed herself away and Jason removed his mask.
"Raven," the unmasked thief began but before he could continue Raven punched him right on the nose, causing him to fall back.
She glared at the man in anger.
"Fuck!" He said holding his now bleeding nose. "I get that you're mad but shit, pretty bird."
Raven stomped towards him as he stood. Ready to give him a piece of her mind.
"You are an asshole," she said angrily.
"Sunshine," he said grabbing her shoulders. "Please just let me explain."
Oh the old overused line, let me explain.
It pissed her off.
Raven used her powers to push him away and turned around. She could feel tears trying to run down her face and her powers beginning to reach out.
"I know you were afraid," she said to him. "And I understand that Jason, I truly do. I would be afraid too and it's not that you left me that hurt. It's not that you threatened me, I know that was a bluff. None of that matters Jason. What hurt was that the entire time that was happening you were only thinking about yourself, how you could get out, how you were at risk, how you would be affected. Not once did I feel anything for me in your actions. You just left. You just left me. Go away Jason."
She turned around to look at him, the sadness evident on her face.
"Sunshine," he said trying to grab her hands.
She slapped them away in anger.
"My name is Raven," she hissed. "Not sunshine, not pretty bird, not princess. Its Raven. Jason, you are a good person somewhere deep down but you are selfish."
Jason cringed, she wasn't exactly wrong but hell, and it wasn't all his fault.
Jason wiggled free from her powers and turned the pretty bird Titan around.
"That's not fair and you know it," he said grabbing her chin so she would look up at him. "I was afraid of being found out, you weren't going to get hurt, sorry I didn't make you my number one. I'm not some pansy boy, I have to look out for myself too."
Jason wanted to stab himself at that moment. Probably not the best words to say.
Raven shook her head looked up then nodded.
"You're right," she replied, causing Jason to feel confused. "I shouldn't be mad. You did what you had to but it just shows that we aren't compatible. I did want to be with you Jason, I did but I don't think you're ready for a relationship."
Jason huffed in anger. He quickly grabbed her again and turned her around, then he backed her into a corner.
"Well isn't that hypocritical of you to say," he said as he leaned his head.
Jason would probably regret it later but now he was mad and when he was mad his darker side tended to get loose.
"Weren't you the one who didn't want little bat brat to get too into your life," he said right in front of her face. "Now you want a devoted pussy who will kiss your feet? Sorry doll, I'm not that, and I will never become that. I'm not a bitch-ass punk."
With that, he kissed her, an angry kiss full of fury and passion.
She used her powers to toss him off the building. Luckily he was able to use his suit to stop his descent.
"Okay," he said as he landed on the roof of the building. "I deserved that. Raven please just wait."
"Jason," Raven said with a sigh. "Go home, as it stands I am back with Robin. I don't have time for you."
Jason stopped in his tracts.
To say that hurt was an understatement.
"Well that was fast," he replied, even more, anger seeping into his bones.
He walked right back to her and grabbed her arm.
"You really are a hypocrite aren't you," he said grabbing her and wrapping his arms around her waist. "Over here getting mad about not thinking about you but you were so quick to fall back into your exes arms, didn't even think about me or yourself really."
"Let me go, Jason," she hissed.
He smirked and grabbed her chin to kiss her once more. She fought and was about to push him away but he made his escape.
"You're a bitch," he said as he jumped away. "You know that, but hey. I like that. Tell Damian that I haven't given up. I won't let you go sunshine."
With that, he disappeared into the night.
Raven stood on the tall building with a bit of shock but mostly anger. Suddenly she could feel another presence she hadn't noticed before.
"Please tell me that wasn't Jason Todd, my long lost and not to mention dead, brother and that he did not just say Damian," Nightwing said as he revealed himself from the shadows. "Also, please tell me that he didn't just kiss you not once but twice and basically proclaim his love for you?"
Raven looked at her used-to-be leader.
"You seem more shocked that he kissed me than the fact that he's alive," she replied.
"Batman told me and Red Robin a long time ago," he said. "Should have known he was the Redhood and Red-X. The little brat always did like getting under my last nerve."
Raven nodded.
"Things just got more interesting," Nightwing said with a laugh.
Raven shook her head, things just got more complicated.
...
The two Titans returned to the tower shortly. Raven was not even two steps into the room before she was being checked over by Damian.
"You sure you're okay," he said as he checked her over for bruises and cuts. Why it mattered she didn't know, all the injuries would heal anyhow.
"Yes," she replied. "Just tired, I think I might go to bed."
Dick nodded in agreement.
"I need to talk to Bruce," he said." Night love-birds."
Raven rolled her eyes as she turned to her room, Damian behind her.
"Do you want to shower together?" he asked very nonchalantly.
Raven turned to look at the brave fool.
"Excuse me," she said shocked. "Did I just hear you right?"
Damian smirked and grabbed her hands as he walked her back into her room.
"Yes," he replied. "Your back is completely blood-soaked and dirty. I want to give it a check over and clean you up."
Raven shook her head in disbelief but she had a smile on her face.
"I'm sure," she replied.
Damian just kissed her instead of giving her a reply. The two walked back to her room as they continued kissing, they made it to the bathroom and the two decided to save some water and have some fun.
The night had ended well.
Back in her bed, the two young adults were looking at each other. Damian gazing deep into her eyes like she was something he could never let go of. She blushed and smiled.
"So," Damian asked as he twirled a hair of hers in his fingers. "I'm guessing it was X who saved you from Slade this time around."
Raven could sense he was trying to stay calm but he was jealous. She kissed his cheek, wanting to ease his worries.
"Yes," she replied. "And yes, he did try to sweet talk me and he even kissed me but you have nothing to worry about. Just trust me."
Damian kissed her lips and the two began to explore each other once more.
"I trust you more than anyone in this world," Damian whispered into her ear.
That night the two made love for the first time. Sweet, slow, passionate, and pleasurable. It was exactly what each Titan thought their first times should be.
Raven, feeling a deep warm feeling of love for the man at her side decided to fall asleep in his embrace afterward.
A good night indeed.
