Marios: That was a good night sleep on the pokemon center! And now let's get back to work!
Gardevoir: I look forward to help you with our battle on the Dewford gym!
Marios: Not this time Gardevoir.
Gardevoir: Huh?
Marios: I have decide to let Eevee and Machop have this gym battle. But don't worry, you can help next time. But for now, let's go challenge Brawly and take the badge.
Gardevoir: Ok.
Marios: To the gym!
{After a long night sleep, Marios and Gardevoir are on their way for Dewford gym and win their third badge. But, it's Eevee and Machop ready for their first gym battle?}

We are walking on the road that i believe it will take us to Dewford Gym. Good thing that i not forget to ask Nurse Joy for direction before we leave. She said that it will takes us fifteen minutes to reach the gym if we take that road. One it's sure, i'm not going to leave this island, before i take that badge on my hands.
Gardevoir: So, tell me Marie, while we are walking. Why you are always in such a rush?
Marios: What do you mean?
Gardevoir: I mean, every time we go somewhere, you always want to leave immediately, after you finish what you wanted to do there. Not that i mind this, but why such a rush?
I think of it for a little and i decide to tell her.
Marios: The truth is that i want to challenge soon a boy named Ash Ketchum.
Gardevoir: Who is that?
Marios: It's a young trainer from Pallet Town in Kanto Region. When i started my journey, he started his own at the same time on Kanto Region.
Gardevoir: Wait. How you know that?
Marios: I know much about this world. Even what road he will follow. But, the battle with Ash it's just a secondary mission for me. I can fight him when i choose to. For now we follow the main mission.
Gardevoir: You mean, win the Hoenn League?
Marios: That's right! Besides, it will take time before we meet him. And if I delay, then there's a possibility to not meet him the right time. And believe me, i want to have that battle!
Gardevoir: It is so important to you this plan?
Marios: Yes. And we are only in the start. Our journey is longer than you think.
Gardevoir grab my shoulder with one of her hands as we walking and she continued talking.
Gardevoir: You helped me when i was alone. And now, it's my turn to help you. Even if this last forever.
Wow! That moved me. I must focus!
Marios: Thank you Gardevoir. I will remember this.
She let my shoulder and she smiled at me with happiness. And we continued walking normally.
~10 Minutes Later~
Marios: This is the place.
We were in front of Dewford Gym and in front of the door was a big sign that it's saying "FIGHT THE BIG WAVE".
Gardevoir: Look! It has a carved portrayal of a Machop and a Machamp on it!
Marios: It's a way to tell to trainers that it's a Fighting-type gym.
Gardevoir: In that case are you sure that you will not need my help on this battle? I mean, i have the advantage when it comes to Fighting-types.
Marios: I know, but you must let that battle to the others of our team this time. They must become stronger, if we want to win the Hoenn League, when the time is come.
Gardevoir: I guess you are right. But what will happen if you lose?
Marios: I'm not going to lose so easily. I know how this gym leader fights.
Gardevoir: So you have a plan?
Marios: Better! I have self-assurance.
Gardevoir: ...What?
Marios: Just follow me, ok.
And so we go to the door and i start knock.
Marios: Excuse me! A challenger has appeared to challenge the gym! It's anyone here?
The door has open and Brawly has appeared.
Brawly: Hello there dude! You are here to challenge me?
Marios: Yes!
Brawly: Then you are lucky bro! I have plenty of time now. So, you want to start our battle now?
Marios: That's why i'm here dude. Let's get started!
Brawly: Then you got it! I Accept your challenge dude!
Marios: Alright!
Brawly: Follow me.
And so we follow him inside to the gym and to the battlefield. We take our places and we were ready to start.
Brawly: So, before we start whats your name dude!
Marios: I'm Marios.
Brawly: Then let's start our battle Marios!
Marios: It's pronounced Marie when you call it dude!
Gardevoir: Can you stop talking like this please Marie!
Marios: You mean, when i say dude?
Gardevoir: Yes.
Marios: Then i'll stop saying dude.
Gardevoir: Thanks.
Marios: Anyway. Brawly, can we start?
Brawly: Sure things dude.
And when we were ready, the referee was able to start.
Referee: The match between the Dewford gym leader Brawly and the challenger Marios from Littleroot Town will now begin! Each trainer will use two pokemon. Only the challengers allows to substitutions.
Marios: I will not say anything about my name being spelled wrong for now and this is my first choice!
I take from my belt the Eevee's pokeball and my first choice for this battle.
Marios: Eevee, i choose you!
I throw the pokeball and the Eevee came out.
Brawly: An Eevee? That is quite a bad choice against Fighting-types you know.
Then i bent a little to talk to Eevee.
Marios: Hey Eevee. Are you ready for your first battle?
Eevee: Yes! It will be fun!
I guess i had to wait that reaction from her. I hope that she is ready for battle.
Brawly: Anyway, let's see if you can stand this! Machop, i choose you!
He throw his pokeball and his Machop came out.
Eevee: Look! Another Machop! It's my opponent?
Gardevoir: Yes, so please focus Eevee.
Eevee: Don't worry, i can win.
Then we wait for the signal of referee.
Referee: BEGIN!
Marios: Eevee, use Quick Attack!
Eevee runs at a fast speed. While running, a white trail is created behind her. Then she hit the Machop and the Machop rolls over the field and stand in its feet. Then Eevee return come back to her place.
Marios: That was a good hit Eevee. But it looks like it didn't do a thing.
Eevee: WHAT! How is that possible?
Marios: I don't have time to explain! For now, let's try this. Use Quick Attack!
And again, Eevee runs at a fast speed, forward to Machop.
Brawly: Cross Chop, go!
Machop's arms glow white, then it forms a cross with them and make a leap forward.
Marios: Quick, get down!
Eevee stop and ducked to dodge Machop's Cross Chop. The Machop's attack miss and Eevee was under from it that moment.
Marios: Quick Attack, now!
While Machop was from above, Eevee jump and tackles Machop in its belly and push Machop upwards with that way.
Brawly: What?!
Marios: While Machop it's on the air, use Swift!
Eevee opens its mouth and yellow stars shoot out of it at Machop. It was a direct hit!
Brawly: Machop!
After that Machop fall down to the field and unable to battle.
Referee: Machop is unable to battle! Eevee wins!
Marios: Wow! I must admit that i didn't wait that result! Mabye it's because of Eevee's Adaptability. Anyway, good job little one!
Gardevoir: And i must say that i didn't see that coming.
Eevee: Yay! I win my first battle!
Eevee start to jump from joy.
Brawly: Machop return!
Brawly return his Machop in its pokeball.
Brawly: The things getting interesting pretty quick! like a-
Marios: Like a sudden large wave?
Brawly: Hey! That's the good way to tell! You are good dude!
Marios: Thanks!
Brawly take out another pokeball.
Brawly: Makuhita, take on.
He throw his pokeball on the field and the Makuhita come out.
Marios: Eevee, Quick Attack!
Eevee runs at a fast speed and tackles Makuhita. After the hit, Makuhita roll over to the field and stand to its feet.
Eevee: That Makuhita knows the same trick? it's unfair!
Marios: And i don't think it will be so easy like the other one.
Brawly: I guess it's time to move first! Makuhita, Arm Thrust!
Makuhita run toward to Eevee.
Marios: Eevee, dodge every one of those and continue!
Makuhita start repeatedly use Arm Thrust, alternating its hands and Eevee try to dodge them all as much as she can.
Marios: Don't give up yet Eevee, continue to dodge them!
She continue to dodge the Arm Thrust attack, but i don't know for how long.
Brawly: Now, Seismic Toss!
Makuhita grabs Eevee, jumps into the air and does many front flips. When it comes down, it slams Eevee into the ground.
Marios: Eevee are you ok?
Eevee stand up with a little difficulty.
Eevee: Yeah but it's not as easy as it look!
Let's see. Makuhita has got tired after those Arm Thrust and Seismic Toss attacks. But Eevee cannot defeat Makuhita like she did with Brawly's Machop. So, the idea is...
Marios: Eevee, return!
I return Eevee to her pokeball.
Brawly: So you are going to substitute pokemon dude?
Marios: Without a strategy, how can you win? Now it's time for my Machop to take place!
I take Machop's pokeball to my hand.
Marios: Machop, time for battle!
I throw my pokeball on the air and Machop came out on the field.
Brawly: You have a Machop too bro?!
Marios: Yes and this one, is strong!
Machop: It's always good to be recognized!
While Machop saying that, he is showing off his muscles, again.
Gardevoir: Focus on battle!
Brawly: Well let's see how strong your Machop is!
Marios: In that case let's start with this! Machop, use Strength!
Machop's body becomes surrounded by a white aura and then he run forward and he punch Makuhita. After the hit, Makuhita roll over the field again and stand to its feet.
Marios: It looks like Makuhita can still keep up.
Brawly: Like on the surfing board, we are not going down so easily! Makuhita, Vital Throw!
Marios: Machop, Bulk Up!
Machop flexes his arms and his body becomes surrounded in a crimson aura. Then Makuhita come close and slams into Machop, and as Machop's falling, it grabs him and throws Machop into the ground.
Brawly: Makuhita, Arm Thrust!
Makuhita repeatedly hits Machop with alternating hands. In the last Arm Thrust hit, it make Machop fall to the ground.
Marios: Machop, are you ok!
Machop: Yes, but i was and better.
Machop stand up, but with difficulty. Even with the Bulk Up move, Machop has received alot of damage. I must think something, or else Machop is going to lose.
Machop: Wow!
Marios: Is something wrong Machop?
That moment Machop start to glow white.
Marios: I think i know what that means.
Brawly: Wow!
While Machop was glowing, he start change shape. And when he stop glowing, it was official. He evolved to a Machoke!
Gardevoir: He evolved!
Marios: My lucky day!
Gardevoir seemed annoyed for some reason.
Gardevoir: Great, that means he will showing off more than usual.
Marios: Come on Gardevoir, i don't think he is so-
Machoke: Look at those muscles!
I look again and i see that Machoke was showing off his muscles.
Marios: It looks like i was wrong.
Brawly: Awesome dude! But that doesn't mean that we give up just yet! Makuhita, Arm Thrust!
Makuhita start to run forward to hit Machoke with alternating hands.
Marios: Machoke, watch out!
Machoke see Makuhita coming to his way.
Machoke: I have it!
When Makuhita come close, Machoke ducks down and swings one of his legs around, tripping the Makuhita, then Machoke grabs Makuhita, jumps into the air and spins around in a circle.
Brawly: That is Seismic Toss!
After a bit, Machoke throws Makuhita to the ground.
Brawly: Makuhita!
Marios: Machoke, when you learn Seismic Toss.
Machoke: I don't know, it just came when i evolve.
Brawly: Come on Makuhita, you can do it!
Makuhita was trying to stand up.
Marios: Let's not lose any more time. Machoke, finish this with Strength!
Machoke's body becomes surrounded by a white aura, then he run forward to Makuhita. When Machoke was close, he lift Makuhita with one of his hands and throw Makuhita to the wall. When Makuhita hits the wall, it leaves cracks there and then fall to the ground unable to battle.
Referee: Makuhita is unable to battle. Machoke is the wins. The winner is Marios from Littleroot Town.
Marios: Victory is ours!
Machoke: Oh yeah!
After some time, we went outside from Dewford Gym with Brawly.
Brawly: Marios.
Marios: Marie!
Brawly: Here's prove that you won at the Dewford Gym.
He show me the badge.
Brawly: I give you the Knuckle Badge, dude.
He give me the badge and i take it in my hand.
Marios: Thank you Brawly.
Brawly: Your pokemons are well trained and you done a great battle!
Marios: To be more precise, i was a little lucky at the start of our battle and when my Machop evolved to Machoke.
Brawly: Even that shows how well you train your pokemons.
Marios: If you say so.
Brawly: Keep up the good work and believe me, you will be a challenge for Hoenn League.
Marios: That's for sure. And now that i remembered it...
I raise the Knuckle Badge up.
Marios: THE KNUCKLE BADGE IS OURS!
Gardevoir: We did it!
Marios: And now it's time to go for the next one, but i have forgot where we go next.
Brawly: I suggest to take the ship for Slateport City and then walk your way for Mauville City.
Marios: Oh yes, the Mauville Gym, now i remember! Thanks again Brawly. Let's go Gardevoir.
Gardevoir: Ok!
Brawly: Good luck on your journey dude!
And like that, we said farewell to Brawly and we go on our way to take the ship for Slateport City.
Gardevoir: Wait!
Marios: Is something wrong?
Gardevoir: Can we rest this time and not go right away to our next destination? Besides, it starts to getting dark.
I look up to the sky and saw that indeed the sky is getting darker.
Marios: I guess you are right. Let's go to the pokemon center to eat something and then to take some sleep.
Gardevoir: Thank you.
We change course and go straight for the pokemon center. The Nurse Joy welcomed us and then i go with Gardevoir up to eat something.
Marios: Ok! The food is ready.
I take my pokemon's pokeballs from my belt to my hands.
Marios: Ok guys, time for some food!
I throw the pokeball on the air and Mawile, Machoke and Eevee came out.
Eevee: Who are you?
She said while looking at Machoke.
Machoke: It's me. I have evolve.
Eevee: Really! That is awesome!
Mawile: Good for you. You have become stronger or it is only your appearance that it changed?
Machoke: If i have become i have become stronger?! Look at those muscles!
Machoke showing off his muscles.
Mawile: He became more annoying than usual.
Marios: Calm down everybody! It's time to eat.
After we eat, i returned everyone to their pokeballs with the exception of Gardevoir and then we go to our room to sleep for tonight. We get inside our beds, ready to sleep.
Gardevoir: Marie.
Marios: What is it Gardevoir? Unable to sleep?
Gardevoir: No, is not that. You believe we will be together forever?
Marios: Believe me, we will be always together. You, me, the others of our team and those that i'm going to catch on our journey. You don't have to worry, i am here now!
Gardevoir: And i'm grateful for that. Anyway, that was all. Goodnight.
Marios: Goodnight.
I guess she worry too much about not lose us now that she is with us. She will overtake soon her worries.
{It's like what Marios said? Or it's something else behind those worries? One it's sure. It will take time until we learn the truth, as the journey continues.}
