Sonic Colors Chapter 9: Magic Duel and Then Some...
Sonic ran through the long hallways of Asteroid Coaster, missing the feeling of the wind that he felt nearly a half an hour ago. Behind him, faint clanks, bangs, and He turned down a bend, and accelerated when he read the sign. "EXIT". Sonic headed outside with a Sonic Boom, stopping to a halt outside of the door, waiting for Tails and the rest. He leaned on the back of the gate, ready. After about a minute, they entered.
"Sorry Sonic. Pinkie kinda kept using the pink wisp. We had to chase her. That's probably why you heard all of those clanks and other noises." Tails explained.
"Ahh."
A loud explosion rang out from one of the planets in the background. "That didn't sound very pleasant." Twilight sighed. Another boom. It sounded closer.
"We should get goin'. Whatever's doin' that sure doesn't sound happy." Applejack inferred.
"Let's check it out!" Sonic yelled. He jogged off, leaving everyone else to eat his dust. Literally. After a good two seconds, he turned around. "Uhh... Twilight? Pinkie?"
"Yes?" The two mares said in unison.
"You wanna check this out?"
"Yes. If Trixie's out there wearing the Alicorn Amulet, then the entire park could be in danger. Especially if she got her hooves on the Negative wisps."
"And I just wanna go because I'm the only one you haven't picked yet."
"Let's get this over with. Final generator, take down Eggman and Trixie, and we can finally go home. Hurry up Hedgehog!" Rainbow Dash yelled out, demanding the trio to leave now.
As Sonic, Twilight, and Pinkie ran out of the area, Sonic picked up both mares, and kicked his speed into high gear. Eventually, he stopped in front of a large tower like structure, with green acid pouring from pipes, and dark, gloomy, purple lights blinking every minute or so. "Wow. That thing is huge!" Pinkie exclaimed, raising up her hooves for emphasis. Just as Pinkie finished her performance, another explosion rang out. This time, from the top of the tower.
"Let's go Sonic!" Twilight called.
"All right!" Sonic answered. Pinkie and Twilight hopped into Sonic's arms, and the hyper hedgehog blasted up an incline, entering the side scrolling edge of the building.
Sonic and Pinkie bounced around, jumping as they circled up the 'road', headed for the top of the tower.
At the top of the tower, was a glass dome. Sonic, Twilight, and Pinkie peered into the glass. Down below was Tails and everyone else, setting free captured aliens. "Let's finish this." Sonic said. He jumped off, and the two equines followed after him.
"HEY! I've been looking for you Trixie!" Someone shouted. Trixie sighed dramatically and turned around.
"That's Great and Power-erk!" She started. But then she saw who she was talking to. Twilight Sparkle was running up to the artificial Saturn that she was hiding on. "Well, well, well. What do we have here? Twilight Sparkle, my somewhat worthy adversary. Are you ready to finish what we started?"
"Oh I am Trixie. But I'm not alone. So, don't feel bad when you lose." Twilight grinned. Bringing Sonic was a good idea.
"Neither is Trixie. Trixie has her own little teammate. And it is by far more powerful than your little pony posse. And if you remember, I've defeated an Ursa Major for REAL this time!" Trixie boasted.
"We'll see about that. Oh Soniiiiiiic?" Twilight cooed. A blue and pink blur wrapped around Trixie and Twilight, going at incredible speeds.
"HA! You actually think that that silly Pegasus, Rainbow Crash is going to be able to help you. I think not!" Trixie shouted, getting her horn ready.
"I'm not Rainbow Dash!" Sonic called as he stopped. The blur stopped moving, and sat on top of Trixie. He laughed as Trixie failed at looking up at him, due to her hat being in the way. Sonic grabbed the hat and flipped over towards Twilight.
"Gah! Give me back my hat, you rat!" Trixie shout, anger and tension building up in her. Her eyes flashed red as she shot a magic blast towards Sonic, to which he easily dodged.
"Ooh. Feisty one. Show me what you got!" Sonic shouted. Trixie grew even more angry, and her eyes and horn turned red again. She took back her hat from Sonic's grasp and also, pulled something up from behind her. "That's an alien!"
"Look whose talking! Anyway, Twilight Sparkle, do you like my cavalry?" Trixie snapped, already annoyed with Sonic, and she didn't even know him!
"Let him go!" Twilight shouted, putting her hoof down.
"No. Let's end this!" Trixie shouted, getting into a pose, ready for battle.
The Great and Powerful Trixie floated up in the air using her magic, and the aliens swirled around her, screaming and punching their glass containers. With a bit more magic, she tore off pieces of the planet, ready to throw.
"Wait a minute!" Twilight shouted. Trixie rolled her eyes and landed back on the fake planet. "Are we really fighting? Or is this going to be like back at home?"
"Yes. We're fighting!" And with that, Trixie teleported back into te sky.
Sonic jogged after her, increasing his speed gradually. Pinkie bounced after him, matching his speed. Twilight teleported herself into Sonic's arms, and was ready to fight.
On a fake Saturn, the only thing you can do, is run around in a circle. Trixie began to shoot down arrows of magic, to which she was disappointed to see Sonic, Twilight, and Pinkie still alive. "Stay still!"
"Who'd be dumb enough to do that?" Pinkie asked, raising a hoof to her chin, bouncing on three hooves.
Sonic jumped over one last arrow before homing attacking Trixie. "Arg! You pest!"
Trixie tried to retaliate with one of her planetary pieces, only for it to be caught by Twilight. The purple pony threw it back, to which Trixie was just able to dodge. "What the heck? Are you trying to hit me?" Trixie shouted.
With a spot on Bubbles impression (even though she didn't know it), Twilight stuck out her tongue and said, "Duh. That's the idea." Then, she stunned Trixie with magic, and allowed for Sonic to again, homing attack her.
"Grr! Trixie wants to fight you Twilight Sparkle. Not this rat! I know exactly what will defeat you. Cause in order to escape this, you'd have to run faster than the speed of sound!" Trixie shouted as she created a giant ball of lightning at the tip of her horn.
"What..." Sonic began.
"The..." Twilight continued.
"Juice?" Pinkie finished.
With a thunderous clap, the ball hit the ground, slowly began to roll, increasing speed every three seconds. "Sonic. You can't carry both of us. I'm sorry." Twilight sighed.
"Don't you have a super speed spell or something?" Sonic asked.
"Well, yes. But it's never been done. Or finished for that matter. We need a DNA sample of somepony who can break the sound barrier with ease at least."
"I'm your somepony right here! Well, somebody," Sonic raised an arm behind his head, and pulled out a quill. "Take it, and do the thing!"
Twilight took the spell, and she ate it. Then, she chanted the spell. "Speed. I am speed. I can run faster than sound. I keep on jumping around. With incredible speeds. I'm moving my feet." Twilight's horn glowed, and her eyes went pupiless. The sound of a car's engine came from Twilight as she blasted down the planet faster than sound, escaping the ball of lightning.
Sonic quickly followed suit, breaking the sound barrier. Pinkie didn't break the sound barrier, but somehow was still able to catch up to them.
Trixie really should have thought this plan through. Without any way of breaking the sound barrier, she was easily caught. Sonic jumped up, and homing attacked Trixie. She fell from the sky, and was passed by Sonic, Twilight, and Pinkie. She concentrated with all of her might, to stop the lightning. Just before the ball could hit her, it dissipated into butterflies.
"Oh no!" Trixie shouted. That last homing attack from Sonic caused her to drop the last captured alien that she was harboring. Just before it fell onto the floor, Twilight picked it up with her magic. She brought it over to herself, and stopped her new super speed spell. "No! Don't!" Trixie shouted, now panicking.
Twilight squeezed open the capsule, and the alien popped right out, unintentionally flying into her stomach. "VOID!" She shouted. Twilight transformed into a black hole, eating up everything in sight. Pieces of the planet began to break away and float into her mouth. The more she ate, the bigger and stronger she got. Trixie held on for dear life on Sonic, who was holding onto Pinkie, who was holding onto the rings of Saturn. As they flailed about helplessly, Trixie's hat began to slip away from her head. "No! Not my hat! Anything but that!" Trixie cried as her hat was sucked up by Twilight.
Twilight kept eating everything in sight, nearly consuming the entire planet. "Come on Trixie! You've defeated an Ursa Major, whatever that is. You can handle wittle ole' Twilight. Can't you?" Sonic teased.
"ALL RIGHT! I admit it. I've never done any of those things! That was the amulet talking! I'm done with it!" Trixie magically took off the Alicorn Amulet, and threw it back. Twilight's magnetic force pulled in the amulet, causing her to eat it. Just as she swallowed it, she grew a grimaced on her face. The black hole began to cough and sputter before eventually shrinking in size and appetite. She reverted back into a Unicorn, and exhaled in relief.
"Twilight? You okay buddy? Speak to me." Pinkie comforted Twilight, pulling her into a big hug.
"Hey wait. Where's the Alison Amulet?" Sonic asked.
"Alicorn Amulet. And didn't you see? She... ate... it," Trixie corrected Sonic. Suddenly, she screeched in disgust. "You know what? I truly am done with that thing! And the hat! You can keep it!" Trixie shouted before stepping back.
"What happened? I feel weird to say in the least."
"What's wrong?" Pinkie asked.
"My stomach hurts. I feel as if I ate one of Rainbow Dash's homemade pancakes." She groaned.
"Oh. You just sorta ate the Reaction..." Sonic explained, patting her stomach.
"Alicorn." Trixie corrected him again.
"Alicorn Amulet and Trixie's hat."
Twilight tried to get back onto her hooves, but failed to do so as she tilted her head dizzily. "Great. I'm in for a long, painful experience when I get back home."
Sonic picked up Twilight, put her on his back, and stared into the empty black space around him. "So, where are we at?"
"I have no idea." Pinkie answered for Twilight.
"Hey, Trix? You're a Unicorn right?"
"Duh. Do you not see the horn? And Trixie would prefer the name the Great and Powerful Trixie. Not Trix."
"And I still want Jason Griffith to be my voice actor. Come on. Trix is pretty cute."
Trixie fought the urge to either blush or yell her real name at the hedgehog. "What is it that you want, you bumbling idiot?" She changed subjects instead.
"You know your way around here?" Sonic asked again.
"Yes. Get to the point."
"If you know where the generator for this thing is, can you teleport us there?"
"What the heck? Sure I can."
"See. I knew a nice pony was in there somewhere," Sonic smiled as he patted Trixie's head. "Also, I got you something." Sonic whispered. He reached behind him, and pulled out Trixie's hat.
Trixie beamed as she hugged her hat. "Oh thank you! Er... I never got your name."
"My name is Sonic the Hedgehog. But call me Sonic."
"Thank you Sonic! You aren't really the jerk Trixie thought you were."
"You seem nicer now. Was that the amulet?" Twilight asked.
"Yes. I fear that the amulet controlled my brain. Making me hate you more and more. But, I think I was wrong to hate you."
"Thanks Trixie. I never meant to embarrass you."
"Think you two lovebirds can finish up this conversation on your own time?" Sonic asked impatiently.
Trixie growled at Sonic and rolled her eyes yet again. Twilight walked over to Sonic and Pinkie, and smiled. Trixie's horn glowed a blue aura, and in a second, they appeared in a cave next to the generator. There, Sonic once again was angered as he looked at the sad, angry, scared wisps. It made him even more as he looked at at least ten wisps' energy be drained from their containers, turning them into potato chips.
"You know, I don't like what you're doing to my friends in there. It's messed up. So I'm gonna mess you up," Sonic threatened, punching his fist.
'Is this guy insane?' Trixie wondered in her head, confused at Sonic's antics.
The robot blinked. Sonic began to stretch his legs. "Yeah, that's right. I'm stretching. You got a problem with that?"
'Yep. He's insane.'
Now, Sonic was doing one handed push ups. "I want to be able to fully enjoy tearing you apart without some pulled muscle slowing me down."
"Hey! We're here too!" Pinkie shouted.
"Okay, now WE'RE ready. Of course, if you want to run away, please feel free. There's no shame in it," Sonic said, jumping up and down, striking the air.
"Well, maybe a little shame." Both Sonic and Trixie muttered.
The robot blinked again. "You guys don't talk much do you? Fair enough. Don't say he didn't warn you." Pinkie said, bouncing after Sonic.
Sonic ran down the star dust road thing, ready for a battle. On his left was Pinkie and Trixie. On his right was Twilight. She enhanced everyone's speed save for Sonic, so that they could catch up. Sonic and his group ran up to the robot. When they reached the robot, it began to shoot at them! Quickly, a shield was placed around the four by Trixie, and the bullets bounced off. As the robot ran out of bullets, Sonic jumped from out of the shield as it disappeared. He homing attacked the red middle, obviously the weak point. All of a sudden, the robot traveled through a wormhole, and it appeared over their heads, dropping crates, asteroids, garbage, you name it.
An orange wisp in a capsule bounced out of a crate, and Pinkie picked it up. She whipped her hair at the capsule, and freed the wisp. It flew into her. Just before the robot could escape, Pinkie used the wisp power, rocketing into the robot's bottom. Trixie and Twilight used their magic to push Pinkie through more and more, tearing through the top, slicing it in half.
The two halves split apart more and more, untill eventually they collapsed off into space.
Sonic peered off the side of the road as he stopped to a halt. He was happy to watch the fireworks as the robot's electrical sparks mixed with oil, causing the robot to explode. Twilight stopped next to Sonic. "We're done." ANd in a purple flash, the group teleported away.
Fun Fact: I was never able to get an S Rank on this boss until January 31st!
I know, not my best work. Chapter 1 was my best so far. At least it's not my worst work either. This was rushed, not really planned out, and the only thing you should really read is the Trixie battle and the boss. That's all that matters really. But Chapter 10 is gonna make up for this! I swear! Writing out battle sequences is my calling! Other than speedrunning the 3DS version of Sonic Generations, I think that's my talent.
All of my midterms finished last month! Unfortunately, my class schedule was changed up three times, so in school I'm a lost soul. So many detentions... Anyway, I promise-no PINKIE PROMISE that Sonic Colors WILL be completed this week! You can expect a complete tag before the 28th. (I have a ski trip!) And a sequel up on the first Sunday of March at 10:00am sharp. Cross my heart, hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye!
P.S. Beginning is rushed. Blah, blah, blah. Boss wasn't the most interesting. Blah, blah, blah. Pinkie barely spoke. Blah, blah, blah. Almost done. I'll be honest. I've kinda lost interest in this, and well, I haven't been in the writing mood lately. School has been tripping. Sorry about this.
