Hey guys. It's been a while since I've updated this story, but let's get this story back on track shall we? Chapter 10 everyone.
A new day had begun in the city of Elmore. The morning had arrived not long ago, waking the ninja of thunder, Gumball. With the sun in his eyes, the blue cat stretched out his limbs, letting out a groan and a yawn.
"Ah, a new day" he said with a smile upon his face.
Soon after getting out of bed and changing into his normal attire, he went downstairs to get his breakfast. Unlike most mornings, this morning he just sat down and ate a bowl of cereal next to his little sister who was sitting in her highchair.
"Morning, Anias" Nicole walked in, giving her daughter a kiss on the head. "Morning, Gumball" she said to her son, rubbing the top of his head. She didn't see, but Gumball had a slight smile upon his face.
Once Nicole was done making her coffee, she took her seat next to Gumball.
"So Gumball, I was thinking you could come to work with me. How about it?" she asked him, taking a sip of her coffee.
"Uh... sure. But why?" he asked with a raised eyebrow, wondering why his mom all of a sudden wanted him to go to her job with her. Usually she'd just take Anias, but this was the first time in a long time that she had asked him.
"No reason really. I just thought that since it's the weekend and considering the fact that we haven't done a mother-son thing in awhile that you might want to spend some time together... even if it is my job" she told him.
"Yeah, I guess we could go to work together" he said with a shrug.
"Excellent" she said happily. "Anias, you're staying home with your father today" she told her. Anias shrugged and continued to eat her breakfast.
Speaking of which Gumball had just finished his.
"Hey, mom?" Gumball asked.
"Yes sweetie?" she asked back.
Gumball cringed and growled a bit under his breath. He couldn't believe what he was about to do, but he wanted to do it anyway. To get it over with, he leaned in and quickly placed a kiss upon his mother's cheek.
"See you in the car" he said quickly and headed to the car. Nicole smiled and rolled her eyes with shake of her head.
"*sigh*... they grow up so fast" she said.
-The Rainbow factory-
"So... do anything exciting lately?" Nicole asked as she and Gumball were in the elevator.
"Not really..." Gumball trailed off. Both felines looked off to the side, not really knowing what to say to each other. It's not like they were the best of friends or anything, it had been a few years since they had an actual connection.
The elevator then made it to the floor of where Nicole worked.
"Good morning, Nicole" her boss greeted her.
"Good morning, sir" she greeted back.
"Who is this?" he asked curiously, referring to the young cat standing beside Nicole.
"Oh, this is my son, Gumball" she said with a smile as she looked at her son.
"Oh yeah, I remember him now. I haven't seen this guy since he was eight" Nicole's boss said.
"Say hello to my boss, Gumball" Nicole told him.
"Hey, man" Gumball said with no enthusiasm whatsoever. Nicole chuckled nervously at her son's attitude.
"Anyway, I have a factory to run. I'll talk to you later" her boss said, and then left to do whatever it is he did.
"I really appreciate you coming to work with me today, Gumball. I might need your help" she said as she sat down at her desk.
"Doing...?" Gumball gave her an unsure and confused look.
"Making and receiving calls from customers and doing paperwork" she told him.
"Wow mom, that sounds totally... boring" he said with a deadpan look with his ears lowered.
"Oh, don't be like that. It's not all bad" she assured him. Gumball rolled his eyes.
"I'm gonna go get some water. Where's the drinking fountain again?" he asked.
"Straight down the hall and to the left" she told him. Gumball nodded and walked in the direction that his mother told him.
"Hey Gumball" a familiar voice. He turned his head to see it was one of his friends.
"Oh, hey Lexy" Gumball greeted his friend and teammate. "What are you doing here?" he asked.
"My mom works here and she decided to bring me along" she said with light smile.
"Wow, so did mine. What are the odds?" Gumball said with a chuckle. "Well at least now I won't be bored out of my mind here" Gumball commented jokingly.
"Yeah" Lexy replied with a giggle.
"Let's just hope you know who doesn't decide to attack us while we're here" Gumball said.
"Don't jinx it, Gumball. Don't... jinx it" Lexy said slowly with a slight serious look.
"Uh, right, sorry Lex" he replied sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head.
"We better get before are moms wonder where we went" she said.
"Good point. See ya later" Gumball said and they walked away in their respective directions, but not before Gumball got a drink of water.
"Glad you're back, sweetie" Nicole said as her son came back without even looking away from her paperwork.
"Yeah, you won't believe who I ran into" he said.
"Was it Lexy?" she asked.
"How did you...?"
"I heard you guys talking down the hall. Guess her mom brought her to work too" Nicole said with a giggle and a light smile. Gumball chuckled.
-The shadowrealm-
"The ninja have become a thorn in my side" said Shin-Ryu. "I must be destroyed at all cost. No one must interfere with my plans, least of all my meddlesome siblings" he said.
The dragon of darkness inhaled deeply and released a breath of dark fire towards the ground. Once it cleared, a new soldier appeared.
He was a black, bird-like monster with razor sharp steel talons.
"Are you up for this task, my soldier?" the dark dragon asked.
"I'll slice them into ribbons" the soldier said
-Back at the rainbow factory-
"I'm bored, got any snacks?" Gumball asked his mother.
"There's a vending machine down the hall and to the right" she said, taking a dollar out of her purse and handing it to him. He took it and headed down the hall.
Once down the hall he took out the dollar, stuck it in the vending machine, and bought a honey bun. No sooner than he bought the thing that he quickly ate it.
"Gumball" Kaminari's voice said in the young feline's head.
"Kaminari?" he said with an eyebrow raised.
"Shin-ryu has unleashed a monster into the city. You must gather the others and defeat him before he harms anyone" the thunder dragon told him. Gumball nodded.
Gumball went behind a corner so he wouldn't be seen and took out his wrist-com.
"Guys, I need you to meet me out in the city" he told the others through his wrist-com.
"I'll be right there" Blast said.
"Uh, Gumball? You and I are in the same building. In fact..." Lexy began. "I'm standing right next to you"
"Oh. Right..." Gumball replied with an annoyed look and his ears lowered. "Let's go" he said.
"Shouldn't we tell our moms we're going out?" Lexy asked.
"Lex, this won't take that long; our moms probably won't even know we're gone" he told her.
"If you so, fearless leader" she replied with a bit of sarcasm.
"Come on!" Gumball said with a roll of his eyes.
The two young cats then headed towards the battle.
-Downtown-
In the middle of the city, buildings had been sliced into pieces. Damage had been done to where there were dust clouds from the destruction.
Innocent civilians were running away, screaming.
"Ah, I just love the smell of fear and destruction in the morning" the bird monster said, and then laughed evilly.
He took flight and stood atop of a nearby building that wasn't destroyed.
"These weak mortals. Can they not put up a fight?" he asked rhetorically.
This monster wasn't just a bird, but a raven. A black body with a raven head, steel talons for hands, black boots on his feet, and black wings upon his back. His outfit consisted of black jeans and a dark gray vest. His eyes were red as with of Shin-Ryu's henchmen.
"Is there not a foe worthy enough to challenge me?" he asked himself.
"How about you face us, bird brain!" a male voice said. the raven looked down to see two cats looking up at him.
"Just who do you think you are, hurting innocent people?!" the female cat said.
"I am Razorwing. My steel talons shall rip you both to shreds" he said, holding up his razor sharp steel talons. "You are the ninjas, are you not?" he asked.
"Yeah, we're them" Gumball said with a serious expression.
"Excellent" Razorwing smirked. He then flew down at high speeds, going past them with a gust of wind.
A moment of silence passed, until...
"Gah!" Gumball winced in pain as three slash wounds opened upon his left cheek, blood running down it. Lexy on the other hand only had the right sleeve of her shirt cut.
"I will not fight you in your current forms. Transform into your ninja forms at once" Razorwing demanded with his arms crossed while flapping his wings in midair.
"You want it?" Gumball began.
"You got it!" Lexy concluded.
"Ninja form!" they said simultaneously with two fingers held up. Their bodies were surrounded with their respective elements and once the dissipated they were in their ninja forms.
"Excellent" Razorwing descended from flight. "Now. Show me what you can do" he said, motioning his hand for them to bring it.
"You got it!" Gumball said. He and Lexy took charged at the bird monster.
They attempted to strike him, but he evaded both of their attacks. Razorwing grabbed their heads and slammed them against each other, and then spun with kicks to both of them, knocking them to the ground.
They got back up. Gumball then formed a ball of lightning in his right hand. He then ran towards Razorwing using his ninja speed.
"Take this!" Gumball shouted. Razorwing smirked at the young cat's attempt to strike him. He then countered by grabbing Gumball's wrist, just before the attack would make contact. "What the?!" Gumball was surprised at this.
Razorwing chuckled and threw Gumball's attack at the ground. This left Gumball open, and so Razorwing kicked Gumball in the jaw, sending him skidding across the ground.
"Gumball!" Lexy said. "Ok, let's fight wind with wind" she said, and then shot a gust of pink wind from her hand. Razorwing countered with his own wind, his being silver.
The two winds collided in a struggle.
"It seems we are too evenly matched" Lexy commented.
"No we're not, I'm still holding back" Razorwing said.
"What?!" Lexy was surprised. Razorwing boosted his power, the struggle weighing in his favor as his wind overpowered the wind ninja's, sending her flying. He then flew after and slashed her stomach, knocking her to the ground. Luckily she was in her ninja from, making the damage less sever.
"You two are nothing. And you're supposed to be tough" Razorwing mocked them. "Well, the time has come for you both to be destroyed" he held up his talons as he walked towards them.
"Hiya!" another person shouted, and then kicked Razorwing in the chest, before he could do any damage.
"What?" Razorwing said with confusion. They all looked to see it was the ninja of fire, Blast.
"You're not destroying anyone, Razorwing!" Blast said.
"Blast!" Lexy said with joy.
"It about time you made it" Gumball commented.
"Sorry it took me so long, but I'm here now" Blast said, helping them up. Suddenly they heard a screech. They looked up to see Razorwing charge at them from above. "I've got this one!"
Blast leapt into the air. Once he was close he kicked his for in the chin. "Fire kick!" he shouted. His leg lit up and he kick Razorwing in the jaw, sending him crash into the ground.
"Most impressive" Razorwing said, getting up. "This isn't over yet" he said, and then flew up into the sky, heading back to the shadowrealm.
"Release!" the three ninja said in unison, turning back into their normal forms.
"It's a good thing you showed up when you did, Blast. Otherwise, we would've been toast" Lexy said.
"Toast? Cut into ribbons is more like it" Blast shot back.
"Well, whatever the case, thanks for saving our butts when you did" Gumball told him.
"Gumball, we better get back before our moms begin to wonder where we are" Lexy told him.
"You're right. Catcha later, Blast" Gumball said and he and Lexy went back to the rainbow factory.
Blast on the other hand, went back to their hangout.
-Rainbow factory-
"Well that was tough" Lexy said as she and Gumball walked into the factory.
"You can say that again" Gumball agreed.
"Let's go to moms before they worry" Lexy said.
"Whatever" Gumball said with a roll of his eyes. Lexy chuckled and went off to see her mother.
"Hey mom" Gumball greeted his mother as he walked up to her as she was working.
"Hello honey. You were certainly gone for awhile. About an hour or so" Nicole said.
"Uh, yeah, sorry about that, just talking to a friend" Gumball half lied while rubbing the back of his head.
"It's Ok, I know you-" Nicole cut herself off when she saw her son's cheek and gasped in surprise and slight horror. "Gumball, what happened to you?" she asked, holding his cheek under his wound.
"Uhh..."
[Flashback]
Razorwing flew towards him and Lexy and when he went past them, he slashed Gumball's cheek, leaving a wound which bled out.
[End of Flashback]
"Oh, uh, I had an itch and I accidentally scratched myself with my claws" he lied. Nicole gave him a suspicious look, but accepted it with a sigh.
"Come here" she said, pulling him close and sat him on her lap.
She took out a bottle of rubbing alcohol, a hand towel, and the type of bandages that you put on a giant wound.
"You really need to be more careful, sweetie" she said, applying the alcohol-soaked towel to her son's cheek. Gumball winced in pain. "I know it stings" she said. She then put the bandage on the wound. "There..." she finished and kissed his cheek which made Gumball blush with embarrassment. Nicole then rubbed noses with him.
"Ok, that's enough" he said, pulling away while still remaining on her lap.
"Sorry" she said with a giggle.
-Ninja hideout-
Blast was with the dragon of fire, Moyasu in another part of the hideout, training.
"Ok ninja of fire, are you prepared to learn this move?" Moyasu asked.
"Ready as I'll ever be" Blast replied.
"Remember to have a clear mind, focus on the fire within you" the fire dragon told him.
"Right" he nodded.
Blast closed his eyes and concentrated. He felt his fire power build up within him and flow out of his body. He then put his hands close to each other and formed a ball of fire in his hands.
"Good, now condense it" Moyasu told him.
Focusing harder, Blast shrunk the fireball, making it more dense and compact. However, it was a bit hard for him to control and it exploded in his hands, sending him flying into a wall.
"Dang it!" he said, being forced out of his ninja form. "I just can't get the hang of this" he added in frustration.
"Don't worry young one, you'll be able to use this new ability eventually. Just have patience" his dragon master told him.
"Thanks, Moyasu" Blast bowed to him. It was at this moment that Moyasu felt a presence. "What is it?" he asked.
"Razorwing. He's returned" Moyasu told him.
"Better tell the others" Blast said.
-The city-
The three heroes had arrived in the city yet again, searching for their foe.
"Alright, where is he?" Gumball asked, looking around.
"Looking for someone?" a voice said. They turned around to see Razorwing standing behind them.
"It's you. We're here to take you down!" Gumball pointed at him with seriousness. He couldn't let him destroy Elmore, let alone the world.
"I admire your courage blue one. However, I wish to only take on the wolf" Razorwing said.
"Huh?" Blast was confused.
"So how about it wolf?" he asked with an evil smirk and his right hand raised.
"He wants to only fight me? Why?" Blast asked himself in his head.
"You're night fighting him alone! You wanna fight one of us, you fight all of us!" Gumball said as he ran towards Razorwing with his sword out.
Gumball attempted to throw slash after slash at his foe, but Razorwing dodged the attacks with ease. Gumball went for his head but he countered by grabbing his wrist just before the blade could reach his neck.
"Away with you" Razorwing made Gumball spin in midair, and then kicked him in the stomach, making him skid across the ground.
"Why you!" Lexy was about to charge in, but Blast stopped her by placing a hand on her shoulder.
"No. If he wants to fight me, he can fight me" He told her while staring down his foe. He grabbed his sword and slowly removed it from its sheath. "Ready when you are" Blast said.
Razorwing chuckled and flew at the young wolf warrior. Blast held up his sword and they soon clashed. The clash of metal against metal filled the air as the the two fought with their weapon of choice.
They separated and leapt into the air where they would collide once more. This would not last long though, for Razorwing had kicked Blast's sword out of his hands. They then landed on the ground once more.
"You fight well, wolf" Razorwing complimented. "Now pick up your sword. I will not fight an unarmed opponent" he told him. Blast picked up his sword and held it towards him. "You show promise young one, but on the inside you still struggle with your skills"
Blast's eyes widened.
"We will meet again once your skills have improved" Razorwing turned around. He then flew off and headed back to the shadow realm. Blast growled and looked at the ground with frustration.
-The Watterson house-
"Thanks again for coming with me to work today, Gumball" Nicole said as she and her son walked up to the front door.
"Yeah, no problem, mom" Gumball looked off to the side blushing a bit. "Come on mom, this day was kind of embarrassing" He thought in his head. Nicole opened the door to see Richard asleep on the couch while Anias watch Daisy the donkey.
"Hi sweetie" Nicole greeted her daughter.
"Hi mom, hi Gumball" Anias greeted them back.
"I'll go make dinner while you two watch TV" Nicole said.
"Ok, mom" the said in unison as their mother walked in to the kitchen.
"Strange. The first time we fought Razorwing, he fought all three of us. But the second time, he only went for Blast. It doesn't make any sense. Why Blast?" Gumball thought to himself.
-The Shadowrealm-
"Why did you not destroy them? Did you not say you would?" Shin-Ryu asked Razorwing.
"I will. I will destroy them, but I will do it with honor. I'd rather defeat them at their best" he told him.
"Then why did you only go after the fire ninja?" the dark dragon asked.
"I seek a worthy foe. Victory means nothing without both honor and a worthy opponent at their best" Razorwing said.
"As you wish. Dismissed, my soldier" Shin-Ryu said, letting him go. Once Razorwing left the dragon growled under his breath.
