Hi guys I hope you enjoyed Chapters 8 and 9 of The Bane Of The Avatar, if you're thinking Morgana will not be dead for long don't worry the exact time for this story is set between Series 4 and 5 of Merlin and this story will lead into Season 5 partially anyway review and enjoy

Chapter 10: End Of The Beginning

The dragon landed directly in front of Merlin, he looked angry and bewildered at the same time.

"You could've warned me" Merlin said, at this comment The Dragon looked startled and confused then he realised and said

"This was never meant to happen"

"What are you talking about?" Merlin asked, confused and scared "this has happened, you said I needed to protect them"

"The boy and the girl have their own destinies" The Great Dragon explained "just as you have yours"

At this Merlin got really angry, he didn't care about his destiny anymore, all he wanted was to fight Vaatu and stop his plan

"I don't care about my destiny!" He shouted "The girl is dead and it is my fault" at this the Dragon looked stunned and began to laugh

"This is not funny" Merlin snapped "You say these people have great destinies and yet one is possessed and the other is dead"

"She is not dead, yet" The Dragon said at this Merlin was confused he was angry at the Dragon but he sensed this and let the Dragon explain "Ahsoka has entered the Spirit World as we speak"

"The Spirit World?" Merlin said stunned not hearing of the place before

"The Spirit World is a mythical realm" The Dragon explained "filled with light and dark Spirits, the girl has gone to find Avatar Alex who is trapped deep in that world"

"We have to get there" Merlin shouted, The Dragon bowed his head in sadness and said

"That is not your mission, young warlock"

"Then what is?" He countered back at this the Dragon smiled and laughed

"Climb on my back" Merlin did so and the Dragon turned his head to face him "we have a long journey ahead of us"

"Where are we going?" He asked

"Home" The Dragon replied, then with a sound like a jet engine he took ofd and flew on into the night sky

In Camelot, the Knights of the Round Table were at a meeting, Anakin was included, he paced to and fro as he waited and wondered where Alex and Ahsoka were, a man spoke, he was old by the look of it, half a century dressed in royal physicians clothes and had a friendly look about him.

"Don't worry" the man said and Anakin stopped and looked at him "I'm sure you'll find what you are looking for"

"Ha" Anakin laughed "you don't know the most of it" ever since the attack, both Alex and Ahsoka have been missing and he was beginning to get worried, then suddenly the doors burst open and Merlin rushed inside with an anxious look on his face, his eyes scanned the room looking for Anakin and he found him. Merlin walked to his location

"Where are they?" Anakin whispered, looking into Merlin's face he could see the worry and the colour drained out of Anakin's face as he knew the answer

"I'm sorry" Merlin said, at this Anakin fainted from the shock and hating himself for being right.

When he awoke, he was in a strange room, filled with vials and potions the likes off which he had never been. Seen before, Anakin wondered how long he had been out

"Easy" it was the old man standing over him carrying what looked like a red vial "you took quite a fall"

"What?" Anakin stammered "what happened?" dreading what was to come

"Gaius has been taking care of you" Merlin said then he look out a window, a storm was brewing but not any old storm, the clouds were red like fear and the lightning purple as greed

"How long was I out?" Anakin asked

"Four days" Merlin explained and then he explained what had happened as Alex and Ahsoka were missing, it turns out an evil Spirit was free which was causing the storm outside and Ahsoka had entered the Spirit World to find the good half of Alex who was the only one that could stop Vaatu.

"Where is Ahsoka?" Anakin asked, then the door opened and Ahsoka walked in within Alex who had a general look of fear on his face

"It's started" he whispered

"What has?" Anakin asked then a female entered, she looked 21 and her hands were chained together in a sought of bind

"The end of the beginning" the woman said, she looked broken and out of place all her soul had been drained out of her "it's my fault"

"Morgana" Alex explained "has agreed to help us, in this one small task"

"I would hardly call it small" Morgana sighed she looked sideways at Ahsoka and Anakin "how you two must cope" she smiled and began to chuckle silently

"What task are we talking about?" Anakin asked "and where have you two been?"

"You know me, master" Alex laughed "I never could resist a dull moment"

"Back to the point" Ahsoka said "we have to defeat Vaatu" at this Alex looked at her and began to correct her sentence

"That's not we" he said and looked at Anakin "just me"

"What?" Ahsoka gasped she walked to him "Vaatu has been laying siege for four days and you've only got back from the Spirit World"

"I know" Alex said cutting her sentence off "he's too powerful, but I have to do this, he's my bane and I have to defeat him"

"What are you going to do?" Anakin asked at that Alex chuckled

"Trap him back in the Spirit World" Alex explained then he took out a small orange key "this should reverse time, so none of this ever happened"

"And you're going to do this" Ahsoka reminded "Alone? Didn't work out the first time for you?"

"I know" Alex laughed and he looked at Morgana "but this is where I've got surprise on my side" he looked at Merlin "I won't be alone, I will have help"

"Do we trust her?" Merlin asked looking at Morgana "after all the thing's she's done?"

"I'm still in the room" Morgana called "I found this monster" she walked towards Alex "it's my fault this happened in the first place, I should be able to get you close enough"

"To do what?" Ahsoka asked not liking this plan at all

"I'm sacrificing myself" Alex explained "it's the only way to defeat Vaatu"

"No!" Ahsoka snapped she took Alex's hand "I lost you once, I'm not loosing you again!" Alex looked at her and said

"This is my path" he looked at Anakin "my destiny" he began to cry "what do you say?" It took a while for Anakin to say anything then after a few seconds he made his decision

"When do we start?" At that Alex smiled and said

"I just did" at that, he ignited his Lightsaber and jumped out the window, swiftly followed by Morgana and Merlin

"I'm going after him" Ahsoka said, at this Anakin started to get up and stop her but Ahsoka said "don't try and stop me" and with that she took off running after Alex, Morgana and Merlin
