Harry was sitting at Gryffindor table. Today was the last day of school and tomorrow they would be taking the train back home. He was excited to see his father again he had missed him terribly even if they had written to each other every day.
The young Gryffindor looked around the great hall and grinned at his 3 friends at the other tables. The 4 of them were very excited. Today was the leaving feast day and they had prepared a little surprise for the school. When Dumbledore stood to do his end of year speech the old man started singing instead of talking and every teacher stood up on the table and started doing a little jig.
All the students were laughing and cheering madly at the show. Then suddenly Snape robes turned red and gold, McGonagall's turned green and silver, Filtwick turned yellow and black and Sprout's turned blue and bronze as they kept dancing the other professors already having been freed.
A few minutes later the head of house and Dumbledore were able to sit back down and eat. Once everyone finished eating it was announced that Slytherin won the house cup with 200 points more than Gryffindor and Hermione was shooting an angry look toward Ron deciding it was entirely his fault if they had lost.
The old man had tried to give points to Harry for his courageous act when dealing with Voldemort but the young boy had pointed out that his friends would have to get points too if he did so the old man simply gave 50 points to each houses which hadn't changed anything.
The next morning Harry and his friends boarded the train with happy smiles. Finally, the year was finished they could go home, have fun and see their families.
Harry and his friends were stepping out of the train station when Harry spotted Genesis waiting near a black car.
- Err guys it's me or father look at me with THE look?
- Which one? The prepare yourself to suffer for having been an idiot look or the run for cover look?
Asked Cho amused
- The I hope you have written your will because you're so dead look…
Answered Harry while his face was losing a bit of colors
- You guys haven't told him about what happened right?
- Which part? The troll? The dog? Voldy?...
Asked Blaise sarcastically. After a while of reassuring Harry that they hadn't told his dad or their parents about any of his school adventures they reached the car where Genesis was waiting.
- Ah miss Cho. Your father asked me to come pick you up. I took the liberty Susan and Blaise to inform your guardians that I would bring you home at the same time. Who might that be?
Asked Genesis while staring at Harry.
- This is our friend Harry Potter. Thanks for picking us up it's appreciated.
Answered Cho politely.
- Nice to meet you Mr. Potter. Is there anyone to take you back home today?
- My aunt and uncle said I should take the bus sir. I will be fine.
- Non sense boy. I will be happy to take you home.
- Thanks sir!
Harry gave him a cheeky grin then they all boarded the car after having put the trunks in the back.
- So how was your school year children?
- It was great Genesis we learned a lot and had lot of fun.
Said Cho while smiling innocently.
- That's good. Any adventure? Prank war? Childish fun?
Asked Genesis in a calm interested voice.
- The usual. Bit of pranks here and there.
Answered Susan pleasantly. Blaise was more and more feeling like they were heading into a nasty trap. Genesis chuckled amused oh yes he knew how the kids loved making jokes and mess around.
- Good I'm glad you had fun. Nothing dangerous right?
Asked the older man and Harry answered cheerfully before Blaise could stop him. They were doomed he just knew it and it got confirmed when the hold Genesis had on the wheel tightened drastically and that his eyes flashed with anger which Blaise was well placed to see since he was sitting at the front.
- Nope nothing dangerous at all it was actually a boring year.
Harry added a little pout to seem more convincing.
- I see. Blaise, look in the glove compartment, take a look at the papers there and them give them to your friends please.
Blaise looked at the various journal entry that were describing every single time Harry had done something dangerous that year as well as the times they were all involved and the boy lost a few colors. Yep they were doomed for sure. He gave the papers to Cho who gave them to Susan who finally gave them to Harry.
- Now I would love to know why none of you informed us of this.
Said Genesis in a tone that would have anyone running for cover but being in a car it was a bit hard to do.
- 3 weeks grounding and 20 hours additional training I suppose?
Said Harry in a defeated tone.
- Grounding? No it won't be necessary
Answered Genesis in a sweet tone with a maniacal smile that made the children consider their chance of survival if they were to jump out of the car who was going at full speed on the highway.
- You children won't have time for grounding this summer. The training I devised for the 4 of you will keep you so busy and tired that you won't have time for much anything else. You insist on putting yourselves willingly in danger way? Well I'll make damn sure that the 4 of you are ready for it at least! And if that in itself was not enough the 4 of you lied to me repeatedly over the year!
When the children went to argue Genesis lost the little control he had left on his voice and emotions. He was angrier then Harry had ever seen him so far.
- SILENCE! I do not want to hear a word. None of you told me what was going on at school. You all have messagers we have been keeping in touch all year. And not a single time did any of you told me the truth! I had to receive that information from someone else. Susan, your aunt will be very busy this summer with the ministry as such I offered to take you in during that time. I also informed her that you lied by omission about my son safety as well as yours and she authorized the punishment I had planned for you guys. Blaise as usual your mom doesn't care if you come spend the summer with us so a room has been prepared for each of you for the summer. Cho, I expect to see you in the dojo at 6 in the morning, ready for training, every morning this summer. On that I highly recommend that the 4 of you get a good night of sleep tonight as tomorrow will not be easy. Harry, I will come see you in your room in a bit.
They all got out of the car, took their stuff and went to their room quietly not daring to upset the Ex-Soldier anymore then he already was. So much for a calm, fun happy summer…
Harry looked up reluctantly when his father entered the room then looked back down to the floor. He had never seen the man so upset before. Not even the few times he played with the materias…
- Look at me Harry.
Genesis voice was calm, too calm and very disappointed.
- Father I…
- Look at me and stay quiet for now. I need to talk to you.
Harry looked up and couldn't resist looking back down. His father looked so… sad, so disappointed he had never seen such emotions directed toward him from that man. Usually Genesis was looking at him with pride, sometime with irritation, sometime with a bit of disappointment but never had he looked so hurt, never had the disappointment seemed so raw in his eyes as it was at this moment.
Genesis lifted his son head slowly with his hand.
- Harry son. I am strongly disappointed in you. I trusted you enough to send you to that school of yours. I trusted that you were able to make the right choices and in the most part you did. You have a good heart and I know how it feels to want to be a hero, to want to save people I would be an hypocrite to say otherwise son. But I trusted you to stay out of danger way, I trusted that if something truly dangerous were to happen you would have asked help from an adult. You and your friends are too young to do such dangerous things. If no one can help you I expect that you will do the right thing. But in a school surrounded by competent adults you had no excuses to get involved in such dangerous schemes. Finally, Harry, what I trusted you implicitly to do was to be truthful with me. You broke my trust son. You lied many times. You avoided subjects that you knew you had to inform me of. How can I trust you now Harry? How do you want me to believe anything you say anymore?
- I'm sorry father. I… I knew I shouldn't have lied but I was scared. I did not want you to worry. I did not want you to be angry with me because I know you hate when I do dangerous things… I didn't want to be in trouble. I'm so sorry dad I won't lie ever again I promise!
- I love you, son. But you will have to prove that to me as right now I am sorry to say that I can't trust your word for it. Now sleep, tomorrow will be a very early and rough day. Good night son.
Harry hugged his father while tears were sliding down his cheeks. Genesis was feeling bad for the boy but he had to understand. That year had been hell. His son lying to him repeatedly. Being informed of every danger the boy got into and not being able to protect the child himself had made him feel completely powerless.
