Been a while since I've updated this story, this is actually not my idea, this Amazon Tournament arc was thought up by Kanius, thought i'd help him out with it by posting it here.

YYDM Special: The Trial of the Amazons Part 1

Amazon Village/YYDM-01
Stepping out of the white portal into the light felt refreshing to all after spending time in the darkness of the world they had just come from. "I never thought seeing the sun would be good." Izumi said, Takuya nodded.
"Gotta agree, that place we were in, it was just too dark, kinda reminded me of the darkness terminal in the celestial angels world." he agreed.
"Hey, wait what happened to the other hostages?" Titaniamon asked holding Ken, who was still clutching his side.
"Don't worry, we sent them home." ClavisAngemon said, Athenamon nodded to him and Chronomon HM.
"Good to know, I look forward to hearing more about RaPhoenixmon, but first." she motioned to Kudamon who was still unconscious from their ordeals with ExoGrimmon.
"Right, we need to have a messenger contact the other royal knights and let them know what's going on." Swordswoman agreed, however before they could take any further action, they heard cries from the village as others ran up to greet them.
"About time you made it back." Mika said leading others towards them, amongst them were the Kuiper Senshi, most of the Sailor Senshi as Uranus, Neptune and Pluto were not present along with Yui and Cammy of the Neo Spirit Detectives as well as Hiei, Mizuno and a few other familiar faces from the GranDracmon siege, the Beast Tamers along with Phillipe and a new girl Ken didn't recognize, the legendary warrior of wood Vega was next to Sailor Mercury and finally to his surprise Yugi, Joey and Mai; but before he could say anything, Varuna ran up and punched him in the face hard sending him flying.
"That's for seeing those pictures!" she yelled out blushing while everyone else present sweatdropped.
"Hehehe I missed you too..." Ken said slowly as he was helped back up.
"Tyra do you ever learn?! You want to go through that again?" Sedna asked her teammate as she helped Ken up.
"I could care less, especially if your just going to show him those pictures! Dimitri should've kept his mouth shut about that!" she said waving her arms in fury.
"Well she's delightful." the new girl said. "She'll be a worthy opponent in this thing!" this made everyone sweatdrop more as Sedna finally saw Ken's wound.
"What the?! You're bleeding badly brother!"
Ken sighed, and held up his Digi-vice B.A.X. "Get the curling iron..." he said slowly.
"How about no!" Shoutmon's voice came out of the device. "We ain't trying that method again, even when we muzzled you, you were loud enough to wake the dead!"
Titaniamon sweatdropped at this.
"From what I was told, he was stabbed by his world's Sailor Uranus Star sword, and they tried to cauterize the wound using a curling iron..." Athenamon sweatdropped at the mental image as this message sent a mental shock amongst the ranks of the Senshi groups, only Sailors Moon, Mars, and Sedna didn't say anything as they had learned of this event from the siege.
"Geez, I can't believe they did that!" Jupiter stated.
"Jeez, I hope our two don't go that far." Venus agreed.
"Kinda makes me sick thinking about it." Quaoar stated.
"I knew about the sword wound, but to use a curling iron, that's not very smart." Swordswoman said.
Ken sweatdropped. "I couldn't risk going to a hospital because we were fighting on top of a moving bus, I wasn't risking going to jail..." Ken muttered.
"How about we let Mercury take a look at him?" Vega suggested. "I mean don't you gals have a nice fun tournament to prepare for!?" he said excitedly, although many sweatdropped they knew he was right.
"Very well, take Ken, and Kudamon to Mercury, the rest of you come with me so we can prepare the festivities." Rika however noticed that MarineDevimon, SkullSatamon, and Pukumon were with them.
"Where did those three jokers come from?!" she said as she scanned Pukumon. "Wow and I thought MarineAngemon was small for a Mega."
Athenamon motioned to an Amazoness Trainee. "Have some of our sisters who aren't competing deal with them, they've caused us and poor Jaarin enough trouble."
Jaarin sighed before being eased by Sam and her brother as the groups split off, Sedna and Orcus both went with Ken as he needed to be healed while Titaniamon followed the others, but to the girl's surprise Varuna came with them.
"Tyra, aren't you competing?" Sedna asked as Vega carried Kudamon.
"Yeah, but hey I want to see how mister sadistic over here is holding up. After all I kinda feel like apologizing, keyword there kinda."
Sedna sighed as Ken spoke up.
"Who was the dark haired girl standing next to Phillipe? I've never seen her before?" he asked. "She seemed really strong."
"Her name is Kotori. She came back from the dead a while back believe it or not. She's kinda like us in our Valkyrie forms, but also different." she said as they reached a medical area that had been set up, upon seeing them bring Ken in Mercury gasped.
"What happened here?" she wondered as Orcus and Sedna set Ken down to be checked out.
"Stupid side wound reopened on me during a rather tough fight." he said slowly taking off his clothes, his scarred body was soon exposed which shocked Orcus and everyone else present, Varuna almost did a double take. "What is everyone starring at?" he asked.
"Wow that's..." Sailor Mercury started to heal his open wound rubbing her water over it, but none of the other wounds closed.
"Call it punishment if anything." Ken said not caring, he saw Orcus almost tearing up. "Hey now, you don't gotta cry over this, I had this coming from day one for being impulsive." Vega sighed as Mercury finished healing his open wound while the other amazon healers worked on Kudamon. "Not to mention fighting Legionmon without a Digimon wasn't the best idea I've ever had."
Vega was confused. "Who's Legionmon?" he asked.
"Takuya never told you?" Vega shook his head, Ken held up his Digivice B.A.X. He showed them what the aforementioned Digimon looked like. "This guy, at night he's stronger, during the day he's weaker, on a night when no moon is out...he's nigh invincible."
Vega sweatdropped. "Holy crap, this guy tore you up good."
Ken nodded while putting his clothes back on. "That he did and..." he stopped when Orcus hugged him suddenly. "What's wrong?" he was confused while Karin was surprised by this action.
"I don't understand how anyone could endure something so cruel! Don't you care about yourself?!" Ken reluctantly returned the hug looking at Varuna who was still stunned at what she saw.
"I don't know what is cruel anymore. I just live as it comes, though some people just want me dead. Would it help if I had the words "cut here" tattooed on my neck?" Ken said motioning to his neck while looking at Varuna. She quickly turned and left.
Sedna was surprised by this as well. "Why'd you tell her that brother?"
Ken shrugged. "Cause she don't like me, and I feel like a walking death sentence anyway."
Sedna sighed. "Didn't I tell you not to think that way? Christina and I both know that what you've been through is too much for one person to bare."
Vega had to nod at this one. "Not alone there, we feel the same way." he said embracing Mercury, Ken was feeling worse by the moment for making everyone else feel bad.
"Can we just...drop this for now? If talking about my pain is going to cause you all pain I'd rather not be here at all."
Sedna sighed again. "As you wish brother, we'll let it go for now." She said as she led them to the coliseum grounds.
Orcus was still hugging Ken's arm as they walked.
"Is it just me, or do you think Christina's got a soft spot for the guy?" Vega asked.
Mercury sweatdropped but then giggled a bit. "It feels inappropriate to giggle at a time like this, but you're right." she replied.
"Well he put it well enough, there's no point in staying depressed all the time." he replied as the other healers finished working on Kudamon.

Amazon Tournament Grounds/YYDM-01
"Bout time you showed up, they are just about to explain the rules." Rika said to Varuna who nodded.
"Alright, as you all of you who've shown up here know, this tournament is going to decide who the next heir to the amazon throne will be, this will be a simple elimination tournament process, unlike the Pharaohmon tournament simply being ejected from the ring will not be enough to secure a win, only when someone is rendered unable to continue or feels unfit to go on will a match outcome be determined, also me and Swordswoman will be fighting as one competitor in our Victory Mode, this might not seem fair but this is to see how well your training has come, remember even if you come against us at the end and lose, or somehow eliminate us early on and win, that doesn't mean you automatically lose or win, this is to see your potentials as warriors overall and who is most fit to take our place in the future. Finally with the exception of the two of us and Titaniamon, the rest of you will draw lots to determine which round you fight in as we shall battle last." This announcement surprised Titaniamon, and also sent a shock through those watching.
"Wait why is she getting to fight the queen first?" Kotori wondered.
Mermaimon and Sara both knew why, they knew of Titaniamon's new armor and that Athenamon likely wanted to test it for herself.
"Sounds ok with me." she said as Mermaimon was given a box to hold, each competitor went up to it and drew a slip of paper.
"When everyone has selected their slips of paper, we shall determine who's going to face who, call out the numbers on your papers.
"I've got one." Sara said.
"Four." Ranamon said, Jaarin and Izumi decided to spirit evolve before drawing lots.
"Three." Sailor Jupiter called out, this went on until the match bracket was determined soon enough a Floramon announced the proceedings.
"Ok then, the first match will be Sara vs Mika, The second match will be Artemismon vs Mizuno, third will be Seirika vs Sailor Jupiter, the fourth will be Ranamon vs Fairymon, Fifth will be Mai Valentine vs Sailor Mars, Sixth will be Brunhilde vs Sailor Varuna, the seventh match will be Tania vs the Amazoness Queen, and lastly Athenamon VM will battle Titaniamon. Everyone please be ready as we will start the matches soon." she called out, everyone seemed pleased with the turnout of the match ups.
Ken and the others showed up. Orcus had let go of Ken's arm but she still stood close to him and sat next to him in the bleachers set up once they found a place to sit.
"I get the feeling this is gonna be insane." he said noticing the intense stares from all the females to one another.
"Guess we won't have to worry about punishment for Tyra this time." Orcus said sweatdropping when she and Sedna saw who she was going to be facing.
"Indeed, it's going to be brutal," she replied with a sweatdrop.
Following the opening ceremony by Amazon dancers and performers, the Amazon Tournament began with an introduction of the tournament competitors and the unveiling of the tournament brackets. Thousands of Amazon Digimon and Duel Monsters filled the Amazon Arena to see the crowning of a possible new queen. For some of the competitors, they viewed this as the only opportunity in a long time to earn Athenamon's seat.
The ring announcer called forth the first two competitors to step up to the ring, which was a solid circle forged from marble.
"May I have Mika and Sara enter the ring?" Floramon called forth the Chimeras. As the two Chimera girls faced off, Floramon in between them. "Are you two ready and able to go?"
Mika and Sara both nodded. They shook hands before Floramon called for the bell. Henry and Terriermon showed their support for Sara, who had trained hard with Mika to master her abilities.
"Let's kick off the tournament to determine who will be our next queen! Competitors, begin the match!"
The first match was almost evenly matched for a few minutes. Sara caught Mika off guard using her intangibility. She phased through Mika and kicked her in the back nearly sending her flying into a barricade protecting the crowds. Mika used her fan and wind-powered techniques to get the best of Sara, knocking her out of the ring. Sara phased through a barricade and waited for Mika to get in the ring. As she bought herself some time, Sara slowly phased from under the ring and attempted to neutralize her from behind.
Mika managed to feel Sara's breathing and at a hair's breadth knocked her back with her fan. Swinging her fan again, Mika unleashed a barrage of thin beams. Mika jumped up over Sara and cracked her fan over her friend's back sending her plunging down. Mika glided down with the aid of her fan and planted Sara down with an elbow in her gut. Sara hit the ring hard and was left laying nearly immobile.
"Sara!" Henry shouted, bolting toward the edge of the ring. He paused as Floramon counted Sara out.
"Sara's unable to answer the 10 count. Mika advances to the next round!"
A few Amazon medics prepare to carry Sara out. Mika calls for Henry to help carry Sara.
"It's ok, Henry. Sara will be good as new before you know it," Mika reassured him with a wink. "Did you forget us Chimeras can heal fast?"
"Right. Sara's a tough girl," Henry sighed as Terriermon patted him.
"Momentai, Henry. It won't be long until we see Sara back on her feet."
As Henry, Terriermon, and Mika left to see Sara getting treated, Floramon called for the two competitors for the next match.
Having evolved into her Mega form, Artemismon stepped in the ring with a resolve to win. Mizuno entered the ring as Artemismon's opponent.
"You can do it, Artemismon!" Phillipe cheered on his partner from the sidelines.
Athenamon and Swordswoman began keenly observing Artemismon, who had left to fulfill her duty as Phillipe's Digimon partner.
"Artemismon, it's time to show me how much you've grown as a warrior," Athenamon murmured, watching closely. "This may be your opportunity to become the next candidate to take your rightful place as queen in my place."
"Artemismon, Mizuno! Begin match!" Floramon announced.
The second match was evenly contested from the get go. Artemismon used her agility and renowned warrior's skills to parry Mizuno's waterbending attacks. When Artemismon came close to knocking her out of the ring, the Sirendramon rebounded by using water bursts from her feet to propel herself back to the ring. Mizuno struck the feisty Digi-Amazon with water whips from her hands. Mizuno caught Artemismon off guard by ensnaring her feet with a water thread. She swung the water thread around and threw Artemismon into the ceiling.
Controlling water in her feet, Mizuno launched herself into the air and closed in on Artemismon. Artemismon produced four arrows and shot them at Mizuno. The Sirendramon parried the arrows with her water whip. Then, a fifth arrow hit Mizuno's blind spot and dazed her, allowing Artemismon to swiftly glide around Mizuno. Artemismon spun around catching Mizuno with a kick to her chest. She then grabbed Mizuno and punched her back to the ring below. She hastily dove headfirst ready to finish Mizuno off. Mizuno quickly responded to the aerial threat and conjured a water dome that sealed them both in.
Utilizing her element to her advantage, Mizuno swam around striking Artemismon with blinding speed strikes. Artemismon floated about dazed and battered from the aquatic warrior's quick blows. Mizuno readied a condensed ball of water in her palms ready to blast Artemismon out of her dome. Mizuno moved in ready to implement the decisive blow. Suddenly, Artemismon began spinning around causing the water dome to tilt around. Caught off guard, Mizuno was knocked out of her path and spun away. Artemismon knocked the whole water out of the ring and sent Mizuno flying into the air. The Digi-Amazon flew up and kneed Mizuno's back. Artemismon followed up unleashing an white energy wave that pushed Mizuno to the ring.
Mizuno hit the ring and was left laying near unconscious. Floramon counted out Mizuno, who failed to answer the ten count.
"Mizuno's unable to continue. Therefore, Artemismon advances to the next round!"
Phillipe was elated to see his partner advance. The Amazons in the arena expressed their utmost support for Artemismon, who was viewed as a worthy candidate for them. Athenamon was thoroughly pleased upon assessing her heir's performance.
Takato, Guilmon, Renamon, Himura, and Inumon watched Rika enter the ring next. Rika transformed into Seirika and eyed Sailor Jupiter, who just entered the ring. Both had no clear intentions to become the next Amazon queen, but the tournament served a means to keep themselves in fighting shape and prevent a deterioration in their battle skills.
Seirika acknowledged the tall brunette. "I've always wanted to have a go with you. Give me your best shot."
Jupiter nodded and took on a battle stance. "Hah, this is gonna be fun! Bring it on, Rika!"
"C'mon, Rika!" Takato, Guilmon, and Himura cheered on their friend.
Renamon folded her arms and discreetly watched the two competitors.
"Give us a good show, Jupiter!" Sailor Mars called from an opposite side.
"Two fighters with thunder abilities. This should be interesting," Sailor Ixion said to her fellow Kuipers.
"Can't say who's going to win this one," Sailor Sedna concurred as she stood next to Ken.
"Rika's tough, but Jupiter's a beast when she gets in her zone," Sailor Eris stated. "I would know. I've trained with her while we were sharing a place together."
"It's about to start," Sailor Quaoar whispered, who got Ken's attention again.
I keep getting reminded of my Helena. Ken shrugged it off and refocused back on the start of the match. "Whoa!"
The third match quickly unfolded as Sailor Jupiter and Seirika engaged in a lightning contest. Both produced lightning attacks that easily canceled each other out. The two traded fisticuffs, but that strategy proved moot against the powerful brunette's martial arts tactics. Jupiter quickly parried Seirika's blows. Jupiter went for a roundhouse kick, but the Warrior of Seiryuu jumped back widening the gap between them.
Invoking Seiryuu's power, Seirika propelled into the air swinging her trident as she summoned a small tornado that swept through the ring. Jupiter took cover and quickly evaded the force of Seirika's attack. Seirika spun around unleashing a whirlwind attack to knock Jupiter into the air. Seirika seized the opportunity and dove in ready to catch her in a tornado. Jupiter rebounded with a Jupiter Oak Evolution, which blindsided Seirika long enough for the Senshi to drop in and disarm Seirika's trident.
Jupiter grabbed Seirika and slammed her into the ring. The brunette channeled her cheetah spirit, Bacchus, and invoked his power to grant her lightning speed. Seirika stood up only for Jupiter to effectively speedblitz her with lightning fast blows. Seirika attempted to cover up. Jupiter landed an impact blow by running into Seirika. Seirika stumbled back quivering and covering up from the blows. As Jupiter sprinted forward with a lightning-imbued fist, Seirika felt Jupiter's approach and narrowly evaded the woman's fist. Seirika seized Jupiter's arm and slammed her hard with an overhead toss.
"Whoo! You got her, Rika! Now stay on her!" Takato cheered on his girlfriend.
Seirika ran up and elbowed Jupiter's face, knocking across the ring.
Renamon clenched her paws. "Keep up the momentum, Rika!" She and the others cheered on Seirika's quick rebound.
Seirika dashed up and blasted Jupiter back with a water blast. Jupiter fell near the edge of the ring and looked up catching Seirika floating above her. Seirika forged a whirlwind attack and launched at the brunette. Clenching her fist, Jupiter channeled her cheetah's spirit and sprang up, shooting up quickly and seemingly uppercutting through the whirlwind. She braced herself going through the gust of wind pummeling her. Seirika watched Jupiter's fist glowing green and narrowly dodged the Senshi's punch. Jupiter used her other hand and balled it into a punch. She decked Seirika's chest and finally caught her with an uppercut to the chin.
Last thing Seirika saw was staring right up at the lights. As Floramon counted to nine, Seirika tried sitting up, but much to Jupiter's relief she fell facefirst. Jupiter caught Seirika and propped her back up.
"Sailor Jupiter advances to the next round!"
Takato, Guilmon, Renamon, Himura, and Inumon hurried into the ring to check on Seirika.
"Good match, Jupiter," Seirika said, giving a thumbs up to the brunette.
"Sure, you gave me a good fight, Rika," the tall brunette genuinely replied.
As the Tamers and Jupiter took Seirika to the medics, Ken became drawn to the exciting matches and it was the perfect way to get his mind off the stressing battles he's been through. Sedna noticed Ken's smile widening and was none more pleased to see him happy.
Glad he's enjoying himself. He needed this. Sedna thought.
Sailor Orcus noticed she was close to Ken and began approaching near him.
"Having a good time, Ken?" Orcus inquired.
"Hell yeah I am. You?"
"Yeah, it's pretty exciting, isn't it?" Orcus smirked, giggling to herself. Wow, he's so hot up close. Whoa, did I really just say that? Oh, Chris, you and your big mouth! Maybe I should get him to open up just a little more...
Before Orcus got the chance to speak up, Ranamon and Fairymon were already in the ring prepared to start their match. Takuya and Sam cheered on their two Legendary Warrior friends.
"Alright, time for the fourth match, Ranamon and Fairymon enter!" Floramon called, the two warriors entered the ring and starred each other down.
"This should be good, a rematch from our battle at Pharaohmon's tournament." Fairymon stated ready to go.
"Too bad back then we had others involved, but this time nothing's in our way!" Ranamon retorted, but before the match could start, an explosion from off in the distance was heard.
"What was that?!" Floramon wondered, before long stomping was heard and sure enough MarineDevimon and Pukumon appeared, only to be kicked by the two girls out of pure frustration.
"I thought they were going to be tortured?" Sedna wondered.
Ken sighed and held up his Digivice B.A.X. "JetSilphymon realize!" Calling out the fusion spirit, he pointed at the water Digimon. "Send em flying."
"Sure thing. Ultra Turbulence!" The Digimon were sent flying as several amazon troops came to the scene.
"How'd they escape?" Mai wondered.
"Don't ask, please don't." Amazoness Trainee said with a sweatdrop.
"They said it was their powers of love, but SkullSatamon simply slipped out of his bindings and took off saying something about getting cheeseburgers." Chrony said.
"What strange Digimon." Orcus said with a sweatdrop.
"I'm amazed no one's gone and offed em yet." Ken muttered to himself as he allowed JetSilphymon to stay out and watch the fight.
"Ok, now that the distractions over, begin!" Floramon called out.
"Alright then. Hurricane Wave!" Forming a breeze on her hands she let it loose towards Ranamon.
"I don't think so honey, Draining Rain!" Ranamon retaliated with a rain cloud that surprisingly broke through Fairymon's attack, stopped above her and unleashed a torrent upon her that weakened her for a moment before she sprang back.
"I can tell you've been training for this!" she said starting to spin while upside down. "Tempest Twist!" she spun towards Ranamon with a flurry of kicks, but while Ranamon was able to dodge some of them, she couldn't dodge them all and was knocked back by a hard kick to the face.
"You have too no doubt! Whipping Waves!" she kicked her feet forward unleashing several waves of water that slammed into Fairymon hard knocking her back again.
"Man Jaarin's really getting into this." Sam said surprised.
"Well she took her loss at the Pharaohmon tournament hard, she's been training pretty hard in her human form, too." Henry noted.
"Yeah she sure has Henry." Terriermon agreed.
"Come on Izumi, you can turn this around!" Takuya called out.
Fairymon ran towards Ranamon and performed a jump kick, however Ranamon caught her leg, and then using the momentum of it swung around the side allowing her to get behind her. "Oh no!"
"Now!" Ranamon called out before surrounding herself with water and slamming into Fairymon's back with hard force, enough to knock her out of the ring and cause her to regress back to normal.
"Match is over! Winner Ranamon!" Floramon called out, everyone cheered as Ranamon turned back into Jaarin and ran to check on Izumi who was getting up.
"Looks like you got me this time huh?" Jaarin smiled.
"Well you know me, I've been training for so long and hard, it payed off." Izumi nodded.
"Sure did, looks like I'll need to start training my human spirit just as much as you have." she said giggling, Jaarin did as well as the crowd's cheers got louder.
Sailor Mars and Mai Valentine stepped into the ring for their match. As Mars took a battle stance, Mai tapped into her Spirit Fusion power and took on her Harpie Queen form.
Having just witnessed Spirit Fusion for the first time, Ken was left speechless.
"What just happened? What did Mai just do?" Ken wondered as he noticed Yugi and Joey were near him. "Hey, Yugi! Joey! What was that Mai just did and why the heck is she dressed like Harpie Queen?"
"It's called Spirit Fusion, Ken," Yugi addressed the teen. "In order to compensate the lack of powers, we were given the ability to transform into Duel Monsters through the power of the Staff of Apophis."
"Yeah, Pegasus was the guy that supplied it to us," Joey added. "Now we can kick butt when we're not dueling a match."
Nodding, Ken turned watching Mars and Harpie Queen Mai square off. "Damn, now that's something. I was just going to say this is a big mismatch. No offense to Mai, but what can she do to Mars?"
Joey smirked. "Wait and see, Ken. If I know my girl, she's got a few tricks up her sleeve."
Mai brushed her blonde locks back and smirked seductively. "Rei, don't take this personally, hun, but I'm taking the win here."
"Is that so? Well, bring all you've got," Mars shot a determined glare with fiery eyes of passion.
The match started with Sailor Mars attempting to bumrush Mai. Mai took to the air using her Harpie Queen's flight and using a Rose Whip to keep the fire Senshi at bay. Sailor Mars dodged all of Mai's whip attacks and jumped up shooting a Fire Soul to burn out Mai's whip. Mars launched herself into Mai and elbowed her back. Mai landed on the ground and took to the air again. Mai summoned her three Harpie Lady Sisters – Airo, Ocupete, and Keraino.
"Man, now that's stacking the odds!" Eris exclaimed.
"Let's go, Sailor Mars!" Mercury cheered on from the medic's area.
"Give it your best, sis!" Cammy cheered on for the Miko Senshi.
"Go, Mai!" Joey cheered.
As the Harpies split up, they converged on Sailor Mars. Mars dodged the Harpies' attacks until they started using Rose Whips on her. Mars jumped up and tossed three Ofudas to neutralize the sisters in place. Calling on Garuda's spiritual power, she produced fire arrows
"Mars Flame Sniper!" She shot and deleted all three Harpies with subsequent fire arrows.
Irked by the loss of her Harpies, Mai flew down and promptly engaged Mars. Mai tried clawing her with her hands, but Mars evaded her strikes. Mars landed a strike palm into Mai's gut, sending a fire blast that knocked Mai back. Mars followed through hitting Mai with a flying heel kick.
From this point on, Mars dominated the match forcing Mai to go on the defensive.
Suddenly, Seto Kaiba and Lyn stormed into the arena. They sighted Yugi and Joey watching the match.
"Yugi! We came with the Staff of Apophis like you asked!" Lyn called out.
Ken turned around and sighted the couple. His mouth nearly dropped seeing Kaiba and Lyn together. Holy shit! Karin was right! The Kaiba from this dimension does have a girlfriend! So, the blue-haired woman must be Lyn! Man, resist urge to do double take.
"Mai's not looking good now. The Staff oughta give her a boost," Joey said.
"Hey, mind if I cut in?" Ken asked, curiously looking over the Staff of Apophis in Lyn's possession.
"Who are you?" Kaiba got confrontational with him.
"Just a friend, I just met Yugi and Joey," Ken said. "It's a pleasure to finally meet the Duelists of the YYGDM dimension. So this staff allows people to turn into duel monsters, huh?" Ken touched the staff with his finger, causing his body to glow for a moment, but nothing changed. "Huh, didn't seem to work."
Sedna giggled. "You can already fuse with a duel monster, so I guess it doesn't work on you brother."
Ken sighed. "I think it has to be something else, like maybe because I'm not from this world it doesn't work on me." however he did feel something strange and reached into his backpack, taking out his deck case he noticed several new cards were inside it. "What the?! Where did these come from?" He wondered as Yugi and Kaiba were both intrigued by this, especially when they saw him take out his No.39 Utopia card.
"You have something to do with this, dude?" Ken wondered.
"What monster type is that?" Kaiba wondered.
"Worry about it later! Mai needs support!" Lyn said as things heated up in the ring.
The moment the Staff of Apophis was brought it helped turn the match around to Mai's favor. Some of the Staff's power that upgraded Ken's deck rejuvenated Mai. Mars went for her Flame Sniper, but Mai flew out of the range and produced Harpie's Feather, which she used to unleash a wind force that pushed Mars back. As Mars hit the center of the ring, she scrambled to her feet and saw Mai come into view.
"Sorry, Mars, but like I said don't take this personally!" The woman declared as she used Monster Reborn to revive her Harpie Lady Sisters. "Your hopes of moving to the next round have been shattered! Now, Harpie Sisters, Harpie Lady Phoenix Formation!"
The Harpie sisters came together to form a large blue phoenix covered in flames. Mai directed her phoenix toward Mars, who braced herself. The Miko closed her eyes and stood her ground to let the phoenix consume her.
"SIS!" Cammy screamed.
"MARS!" The Senshi shouted fearfully for their colleague, who seemingly let the phoenix engulf her.
"Ah, Mai, ya didn't need to go THAT far!" Joey blanched.
"I did overdo..." Mai blinked thrice upon her work.
"Then, you should've gotten me quicker than you did!" Came Mars' voice, who shocked everyone nearby.
As Mai whirled around, she barely saw Sailor Mars sneak up behind her. Mars forged a fire arrow and blasted her in the back.
"Way to rebound, Mars!" Orcus exclaimed.
Cammy pumped her fist up. "You've got this one, sis!"
Ken chuckled. "Oh, this is going to get good."
"Don't take this personally either, Mai, but I'm not losing to you!" She conjured fire in her heels and charged with a rejuvenated vigor. "Mars Inferno Wave!" She spun around unleashing an fire wave that quickly destroyed the Harpie sisters. She then dashed up channeling fire into her red heels. She jumped forward and landed a fire kick to the blonde woman's face. "Fire Heel Kick!"
Mai took the full force of Mars' blow and fell unconscious. Floramon counted out Mai and declared a knock out.
"What a fierce knock out! Sailor Mars goes to the next round!"
Sailor Mars pumped her fist over her head and hollered. "Oh yeah!"
"Way to go, sis!" Cammy cheered her on.
Yui giggled. "Never lost faith, huh?"
Kotori eyed Mars and smiled. "That was a good comeback. Hopefully I get to fight you so I can test my fire against yours."
Himura overheard his Valkyrie Maiden friend and chuckled nervously.
"Aww, man. So close, Mai," Joey muttered sadly. "Oh well, good match, girls!"
"Kick ass performance, you two!" Lyn said.
Indeed, good effort, Mai,Yugi said.
Sailor Mars woke up Mai and helped her up to her feet.
"You almost had me, Mai, but I told you I wasn't going to lose," Mars winked to the woman.
"You got me there, hun. Good luck in the quarterfinals," Mai replied as she raised Mars' hand in victory.

Athenamon's Palace/YYDM-01
Waiting for their match to arrive, Athenamon and Swordswoman decided to retreat to the palace to rest and decided to talk with ClavisAngemon and Chronomon HM. "So what does being a herald entail?" Swordswoman started.
"Well it's simple, if RaPhoenixmon needs us to take care of something, we will be notified by her telepathy and take care of it immediately, but because we are her heralds, she grants us all extra power in times we need them, but at the same time we can't always rely on them." ClavisAngemon said.
"Reminds me of the Senshi and their Valkyrie armors, but your right, we'll try not to abuse the power we were given." Athenamon replied.
"Thankfully though things have been quite peaceful over the past few years, well with the exception of that ExoGrimmon incident, 'tis a shame that Kentaurosmon was forced to give his title, but RaPhoenixmon knew he would, he was more focused on being a Royal Knight than a herald, and he was caught up in that whole King Drasil or Yggdrasil whatever you want to call him ordeal in the world of the Data Squad warriors." Chronomon HM said, Athenamon sighed as she still regretted not being able to help knock her husband back to his senses during that ordeal.
"So why was he chosen then?" she asked.
"Because even if it was temporary RaPhoenixmon saw he had a just soul and could help her until someone more fitting could take his place, that is where you two came in." ClavisAngemon spoke.
"It feels good to be recognized by a deity who is the same gender as us." Swordswoman noted.
Athenamon agreed. "Yes, but still we can't misuse our power, if the Senshi are any example to go on, this power must be used when necessary, not at our leisure." She replied as Sely and Ary entered the room. "Looks like our match with Titaniamon's coming up soon, we need to get ready cause that new armor of hers could be troublesome."
Swordswoman nodded. "Oh yeah, I'm looking forward to this." Swordswoman said as the two went to prepare themselves.
"Guess we should go watch with the crowd. After all it'll be interesting to see how strong this Amazon queen duo is without their herald powers." Chronomon HM said.
"Agreed." ClavisAngemon said as they headed out as well.

The next match pitted a Sailor Senshi against a Valkyrie Maiden. Sailor Varuna had the privilege of facing Kotori Ayami. As she transformed into Valkyrie Brunhilde, Himura approached his friend and wished her luck. The other Senshi keenly observed this match, allowing them to assess Brunhilde's power.
"Can't believe Varuna is the one that has to face Brunhilde," Orcus said.
"Well, it was only a matter of time until one of us would," Sedna replied. "Considering how strong Brunhilde is, Varuna might want to shift to Valkyrie mode herself."
Quaoar whispered. "C'mon, Varuna. You can win!"
Facing Brunhilde's direction, Ken became flabbergasted by Brunhilde's presence. Granted, he's already seen the Senshi's Valkyrie forms, but there was something subtle about Brunhilde's power that made her stand out from the Senshi's forms. Brunhilde's Valkyrie power felt more pure and not artificial.
"Are we ready to go, ladies?!" Floramon asked the two combatants.
Varuna and Brunhilde took battle stances.
"Begin!"
The two warriors locked up testing each other's brute strength. Varuna gained leverage using her height advantage. She slowly pushed Brunhilde back and seemed to be exerting a ton of her power to do so. However, all it took was Brunhilde lifting her up and throwing her into the air. Varuna landed on her feet and whirled around catching Brunhilde blurring behind her quickly. Brunhilde landed a quick kick to Varuna's face and sent her sailing across the ring. Varuna fell near an edge of the ring and rubbed her face.
"Damn that hurt...!" Varuna cursed, rubbing her tender face where Brunhilde landed a blow. She's a hell of a lot faster than I anticipated! And she doesn't pull any punches. She's just like me. Standing up, Varuna beckoned Brunhilde to attack.
Brunhilde accepted the invite and flew over to attack. She went for a flying kick, but Varuna ducked and seized Brunhilde's right foot. She threw Brunhilde into the air and jumped up clubbing her back. Varuna then dropped a heel stomp to Brunhilde's back, sending her crashing to the ring. Varuna sprang up and raced to shoot a light beam. Brunhilde kip-upped and blurred right out of Varuna's sight. The Kuiper instinctively looked up as Brunhilde went for a punch. Varuna 'flash stepped' out of reach, causing Brunhilde to punch a large hole through the ring.
Varuna phased behind Brunhilde and attempted to apply full nelson. The Valkyrie Maiden quickly spun around and elbowed her face. She then punched Varuna back.
"C'mon, Varuna!" The Kuipers rallied behind their colleague.
"You want to play rough?!" Varuna howled as she transformed into her Dai-Valkyrie form. She summoned her battle ax and flew over to attack Brunhilde. She swung around trying to find a blind spot. She spun around and kicked Brunhilde's gut with her sandal high heel. She hit Brunhilde with speedblitz attacks.
Brunhilde was having a hard time covering up to protect herself from Varuna's strikes. Varuna reappeared over Brunhilde and attempted to cut her in half. Brunhilde instinctively caught Varuna's ax, which was inches from Brunhilde's head. She turned and twisted the ax around. Then, she kneed Varuna's face and disarmed her. Brunhilde flew across and threw the ax at Varuna, who flew out of the way. Brunhilde glided forward punching Varuna's gut. Varuna punched her back. The two traded a flurry of punches and kicks.
The two had the same idea and punched each other simultaneously! Both jerked their hands back and headbutted each other a few times. Then, Varuna got dazed in the midst of headbutting Brunhilde. The Valkyrie Maiden grabbed the Valkyrie Kuiper and slammed her into the ring. After planting Varuna headfirst through the ring. Brunhilde took to the air. She summoned fire and ice from her hands, invoking a frozen fire technique.
"Oh no! Varuna!" Quaoar cried out.
Ken muttered. "Damn she's done for!"
"Whoa, don't go crazy now, Kotori!" Himura yelled.
As Varuna finally freed herself, Brunhilde dove down and blasted her full force with her combined elemental attacks.
"Valhalla Frozen Inferno!" Brunhilde blasted Varuna back and out of the ring.
Having been subdued by Brunhilde's attack, Floramon counted the Kuiper count. The other Kuipers hurried over to collect their friend.
"Varuna is unable to answer the count. Therefore, Brunhilde advances to the next round!"
Brunhilde floated out of the ring and descended near the Kuiper Senshi. She knelt down and noticed Varuna coming to. The two smiled and shook hands.
"Great fight. We should do it again," Varuna said. "But, next time, I'm gonna win."
Brunhilde nodded. "Hah, we'll see. I'd be honored to fight you again."
Sedna sighed with relief. "As long as you two don't go turning our home into vacant parking lot."
"With these two, they might just do that," joked Eris.
Sailor Jupiter approached Mars. "What do you think?"
"Very impressive. She managed to beat Varuna, a tough girl in her own right," Mars replied, glaring intently toward Brunhilde. "Looks like I'm gonna have to get serious when I fight her. It's Dai-Valkyrie or nothing."
The second to last match pitted Amazoness Queen, returning from travels to fight to earn Athenamon's throne, against Tania, the Amazon Duelist who returned from repairing an alternate dimension after the Supreme King incident.
The match was more or less a standard Amazon brawl with no theatrics and special attacks. The two displayed physical prowess and athleticism coupled with martial arts action. In the midst of the match, Tania turned into her Amazoness Tiger form to try take down Queen, but Queen subdued Tania with a magic rope. Tania turned back to normal and engaged Queen in hand to hand combat. After a few minutes of fighting, Queen knocked her out with a spell attack and left her laying.
Unable to respond to the ten, Tania was counted out.
"And Amazoness Queen advances to the next round!" Floramon announced. While Queen helped carry Tania out of the ring, she turned to the bracket. "We've narrowed down to the final qualifying match! As requested by our queens Athenamon and Swordswoman, they elect to pass on the lottery draw to face Titaniamon last. And having fulfilled their wish, we can finally settle who will face Amazoness Queen in the quarter finals!"

So she went and picked some new heralds , eh? ObeliskMegaGargomon muttered in thought as his vassals appeared before him.
"You called for us master, it's been awhile." said Chronomon DM.
"Yes it has, seems MegaUltraChicken's gone and picked herself a new herald, well it's a two for one special, I'd like for the three of you, my personal vassals to deal with them."
"Heh Vassal sounds cooler than Herald anyway." Blightmon said chuckling.
"Isn't the brat with the B.A.X. vice there right now too?" Chronomon DM asked.
"Yeah, if he gets in your way, punish him as well." ObeliskMegaGargomon said as Tidalmon entered the room.
"TIDALMON CRUSH ALL!" all sweatdropped.
"I swear I wish someone would fix his speech box..." ObeliskMegaGargomon muttered as he opened a portal for them. "Have fun, and kill all who appose you!"
"Yes master!" Blightmon and Chronomon DM jumped onto Tidalmon's transformed state and rode through the portal...
"Time to see who's better cause lazy ass snakey don't matter much..." ObeliskMegaGargomon muttered to himself as the portal closed.

The moment had finally arrived. Athenamon Victory Mode and Titaniamon Ultima Mode were standing face to face in the ring.
"This is gonna be good," Mermaimon said with Sanzomon sitting next to her. Behind them Swordswoman's clan were seated to actively watch this crucial match.
Sanzomon added. "We'll finally get to see to what extent Titaniamon can utilize her new armor."
Everyone else was quiet waiting for the two to make a move. Ken eyed Titaniamon UM closely and clenched his fists. Sedna and Orcus noticed Ken getting visibly excited to see Titaniamon demonstrate her new found armor's abilities against Athenamon VM.
"As stated earlier, Queens Athenamon and Swordswoman will be competing as one competitor in their Victory Mode. According to tournament rulebook, fusions are eligible to compete. Now, Athenamon Victory Mode, Titaniamon Ultima Mode, are we ready to go?"
Athenamon VM and Titaniamon UM answered by taking battle stances.
"Then let the final qualifying match begin!"
Athenamon VM noticed the redhead was reluctant to move. "Titaniamon, why hesitate to attack me? This is why I arranged for us to fight in the last qualifying match. Please, show us the fill extent of your Ultima Mode." She took a stance and readied her sword. "Don't hesitate to attack me as if I am your enemy!"
Narrowing her eyes, Titaniamon UM complied and dashed forward to attack. The two Amazons clashed head-on. Athenamon VM swung her sword. Titaniamon UM countered by lifting her right shoulder armor to block it. Titaniamon immediately unloaded with punches on Athenamon as the queen dodged and parried her blows. Titaniamon dropped down and swept Athenamon off her feet. Titaniamon UM jumped up and activated her Ultima armor. A 'J' appeared on the center giving her access to Jupiter's powers and speed. A lightning aura surrounded Titaniamon enabling her to fly down at lightning speed and catch her with a lightning blast to Athenamon VM's chest.
Driven back by Titaniamon's attack, Athenamon VM steadied herself.
"Was that one of my attacks? And her armor just turned green like my Valkyrie form!" Jupiter was flabbergasted having seen Ultima Mode in action.
Venus gasped. "You're right! But, how...?! She shouldn't be able to access Jupiter's power like that!"
Overhearing the Senshi behind him, Ken sighed and explained to them about his brief visit to the future. He made no mention of Athena and her parents. Needless to say, the Senshi were shocked to find out about Ken meeting with their future counterparts and how Titaniamon gained the Ultima Mode armor.
"Her armor was created when mine, Jupiter, and Saturn's combined?!" Venus was shocked.
Saturn added. "I must admit that's unexpected, but at least our armors are being used in good hands. I trust Titaniamon will make good use of the Ultima armor."
Ken sighed. "There's a problem. She hasn't mastered it yet."
"He might be right, guys! Look!" Moon directed everyone back to the match.
As the J on the center piece switched to 'V', the armor turned orange and gold. Titaniamon accessed Sailor Venus' Valkyrie powers. She fired a barrage of Crescent Beams that seemingly kept Athenamon VM back. The Amazon queen swung her sword around cutting down the beams and deflecting a few at Titaniamon UM. Titaniamon UM swerved around evading the beams. She dove down and threw a chain of hearts, which she used to ensnare Athenamon VM's sword. The V switched to J granting Athenamon VM access to Jupiter's powers again.
"Don't take me lightly, my queen!" Titaniamon UM exclaimed, channeling lightning through Athenamon VM's sword.
"Augh!" Athenamon VM howled painfully as the lightning blast knocked the sword from her hands. She turned around and saw Titaniamon UM flying at her kicking her in the stomach. Doubling over, Athenamon VM was dazed by Titaniamon UM's kick.
Titaniamon clubbed Athenamon VM's back and sent her falling back to the ring. Just when it seemed like Titaniamon UM was in full control, the Amazon felt her armor's power slowly diminish.
No! I'm burning out this soon?! I've got to finish this fast! Titaniamon UM frantically realized the limitations of her armor. The J switched to an 'S', which allowed her to delve into using Saturn's power. Her armor became purple and black. She drew out her sword, channeling similar purple light into the blade. "Oberon Death Buster!" She sent the energy blast through her sword and watched narrowly miss Athenamon VM. She felt strain as the armor began to vanish. "Not yet!" She yelled out with resolve as she channeled her own natural lightning affinity. The S switched with V as a golden aura washed over her.
Athenamon VM looked up seeing Titaniamon VM's glowing form coming down on her. She sensed Titaniamon straining herself to maintain her armor's stability.
"Titaniamon, you can't hold that form for long! Stop before you overexert yourself!"
Titaniamon UM screamed painfully as the armor's power overwhelmed her. She crossed her arms and prepared to blast Athenamon VM with her attack. The aura wrapping around her formed into the shape of a butterfly.
She can't contain three Valkyrie armor powers at once in conjunction with her own! She's overloading herself! Athenamon VM thought; the Swordswoman side pathed with her Digimon comrade.
"Stop Titaniamon!" Jupiter pleaded. "You're going to hurt yourself this way!"
Nearly everyone in attendance were on edge as Titaniamon UM unleashed her attack.
"Testarossa Star Shot!" screamed Titaniamon UM, sending the powerful burst of power at Athenamon VM.
Athenamon VM rebounded calling out her signature attack. "Athena Flame Owl!" She focused her attack and made sure it collided with Titaniamon UM's attack.
For a brief moment, a beam struggle ensued until Titaniamon UM finally buckled under the strain. The two attacks thankfully canceled each other out. Titaniamon's Ultima armor finally vanished as she regressed to her base form. She descended catching her breath and looked up seeing Athenamon VM floating near her.
Titaniamon shut her eyes and knelt down, bowing her head shamefully. "I can't control it, my queen. No matter how much I try to use it I can't stabilize it while using it to its fullest extent. As for this match, I concede."
"No, Titaniamon," Jupiter muttered as she tried to interject, but Moon, Mars, and Venus stopped her.
Mars added. "Let Athenamon handle this."
"That's right. This is their issue to work over," Venus said.
Athenamon VM placed her hand on Titaniamon's left shoulder. Taken aback, Titaniamon looked up seeing her queen giving her consolation.
"There's no need to be saddened, Titaniamon. You fought well against me and proved to me once again how much you've improved. You're growing as a warrior and you've done well protecting Kensuke. That said, the Ultima armor still has certain flaws that need to be corrected. You're correct that the armor needs to be stabilized. However, I have faith you'll master the armor's power."
"But..."
"Believe you can. Don't overexert yourself and try forcing these armor powers out. You must let these powers became an extension of yourself. It's certainly not easy controlling external powers beyond your control, especially coming from three. It will take time, but remember what I said: let the powers become an natural extension of your own body. Learn to conserve your powers better. Your body will surely adapt to combining these powers and granting you better control of the Ultima armor."
Clenching her teeth, Titaniamon shed a few tears and stood facing her queen. She wiped her tears off and gave a determined glare.
"Thank you, my queen. I'll do as you tell me and I will forge my path to becoming a strong representative of our sisterhood. I won't disappoint you! And I vow to master my Ultima Mode!" Titaniamon pivoted her view toward the Senshi, especially as her eyes fell on Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn. A smile adorned the redhead's features. "And I won't disappoint you either."
The three Senshi nodded together in response. Despite her loss, Ken was satisfied to see Titaniamon not lose her fighting resolve.
"And we'll train hard to make sure you master that armor," Ken muttered.
Sedna overheard Ken and smiled. "She will, Ken. No doubt she will. This is definitely a learning experience for her."
And we'll overcome our own flaws before we take Greil's ass down permanently. And to get Helena's star seed back, too! Ken thought reminding himself of the goals he's set out to accomplish.
Floramon announced to the audience and the still active tournament competitors. "As Athenamon Victory Mode advances, we have our tournament brackets for the quarterfinals completed! The following matches will commence: Mika vs. Artemismon, Sailor Jupiter vs. Ranamon, Sailor Mars vs. Brunhilde, and Athenamon Victory Mode vs Amazoness Queen! After a short intermission, we will proceed with the quarterfinals!"

I definitely wouldn't call this filler since important stuff happens; especially with the case of Titaniamon discovering the flaws of her Ultima Mode armor and Ken meeting the Yu-Gi-Oh cast as well as Kotori Ayami/Valkyrie Brunhilde.
