Enjoy this chapter, everybody!

The red hair American dressed in a long black coat and a brown blade holder around his white shirt. Superficially, he looked alike a Japanese Anime character despite he's an American. He kneel down on the ground and investigated the unconscious Toucan in front of him carefully, while the scarlet macaw, who turned out to be Neville Wayne, landed softly on the ground.

"It's a male Toco Toucan," The young man slowly picked up the Toucan with both of his hands and checked every parts of the body. Neither was blood nor a scratch was found, but he got a broken wing and a burned mark on his chest.

"Jaack~!" Wayne called his owner's name, who was eventually known to be 'Jack'. Jack paid attention to him, all he could hear was just a bird squawk but Jack knew for sure that Wayne wanted to tell him something. He lifted a curious eyebrow.

"What? Do you think 'he' did this?" Jack asked. Wayne nodded his head meaning 'yes', he then flew away and gave a simple sign to Jack so that he would follow him.

"Okay, bud. We gotta take him to the Aviary first! Let's go!" Jack got up and followed his animal company through the dark jungle while carrying the unconscious Toucan on his arms. They both finally arrived at the city street after getting out of the jungle. Jack started on his motorcycle as they both were heading to the place where birds were taken care well, the Aviary.

"What do you say, Sylvio? 'A young man with red curly hair came while carrying an injured Toco Toucan and a furious Scarlet macaw in midnight'? Wait, you knocked the Scarlet macaw out because the squawk almost gave you a heart-attack? Oh, Meu Deus. What in the world, Sylvio?! That's a hostile! So you need my help to heal them. Okay, I'll get there as quick as I can," Tulio hung up his phone and hurriedly grabbed his key car to get to the Aviary.

"What is happening there, Tulio?" Linda asked.

"Uhhh, just a little problem about the injured birds that I had ever talked you about, Linda. Somebody has found two injured birds tonight," Tulio said as he put on his white-lab coat and walked to the door. Linda immediately followed him.

"I'm coming with you!"

"Okay, let's go," Tulio said and they both walked outside the house and got in the jeep. The car started to drive through the midnight city of Rio which was still glowing bright with the lamps. Not long after, the jeep then arrived at the gate of the Conservation Center. Tulio parked his jeep and they got out from the car. Both Tulio and Linda walked inside the building. They went through the hall way after being told by Sylvio that a person who named 'Jack' was still in the Treatment Room with his birds. Tulio and Linda then got inside the Treatment Room. The four-eyed humans pair got surprised when they saw Jack sitting on a chair, with a mug of hot coffee on his hands. He was surrounded by dozens of sleeping injured birds in their cages, while the whole lamps were shut down except the only one right above his head. Jack soon paid attention to them after he had heard the sound of door opening.

"Oh, hello there. You must be that famous ornithologist," Jack said while getting up from his chair. He then did hand shake with Tulio and introduced himself, "The name is Jackie Alexander Bond, you can call me 'Jackie' for short."

Tulio smiled in response. He then introduced himself and Linda to the guy in front of him, "Oh, yes, Jackie. Please to meet you. I'm Tulio Monteiro, the ornithologist of Blu Bird Sanctuary; And this is Linda Gunderson, from Minnesota."

Jack did hand-shake with Linda, "Hi. Please to meet you, uhhh- Jackie?"

"Yeah, please to meet you too, Mr. Monteiro, and Ms. Gunderson. So uhhh- I heard you are that Big-Mama Bird who feeds the birds in the 'most natural' way, right?" Jackie looked at Tulio with his chocolate-brown eyes, still holding his mug with both hands. Tulio got stunned in a mere second, wondering why the young man could even know about his detailed information.

"Uhhh- Yeah, that is true. Why?" Tulio questioned Jackie.

"So how does it feel with the bird's foods inside your mouth? I mean; Does it taste really bad, or you can just swallow it like the birds do everyday, or-" Jackie's babbling was soon interrupted by the ornithologist.

"Hey, please, can we just move that topic so we can get to the main problem now, Jackie?" Tulio asked in a little mad tone, folding his fingers together.

Awkward silence, Jackie instead took a huge sip of hot coffee in his 'I (Heart) Cooking' mug.

"Okay, just get to this Toucan already. 'Cause we need him so badly right now." Jackie commanded without taking an eye contact to the human pair. He instead handed them an opened medium box that laid the injured Toco Toucan inside it. Tulio merely looked inside it, he put off his glasses and then fixed it again after accepting the box.

"Okay thank you. Oh, hold on a second, how about your Scarlet macaw then? Should I heal it too?" Tulio asked.

"Naaah, it's okay. He's already wake up anyway ten minutes ago. Don't need to recover. He's still sitting alone in the corner over there," Jackie moved his chin to his side, pointing the direction where Neville Wayne was standing on a table while holding a newspaper on his wings. This bird's unique behavior soon made Tulio and Linda gasp to their surprises.

"Wait, is he reading a newspaper?" Tulio asked in a most excited tone, being amazed by Wayne's high intelligence. He walked towards the bird slowly, and Linda followed behind him.

"Awww, he's just like Blu," Linda cooed in response, remembering the time when Blu always read newspaper every morning in Minnesota.

"His name is Neville Wayne. It's his own hobby to read something, and he learned his reading ability all by himself. I actually adopted him a couple of years ago when I found him in my kitchen in a midnight. He was really poor to find foods. He didn't know how to squawk; I mean he couldn't squawk just like the other normal macaws so I tried to teach him, but he was just kind of scream, and he just hit his head against the cage many times, and he was like 'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH'. Believe or not, he's even smarter than me!" Jackie laughed while taking a sip of his hot coffee.

"You know, that's a really nice name, Jackie. And that was really nice when you were teaching him how to squawk," Linda awkwardly commented, while Tulio kept examining the new discovery in front of him.

"Hey, Wayne! Hello, there. What's up?" Tulio greeted Wayne as kindly as he could, getting the bird's attention. Wayne merely looked at him, but then scoffed and turned back to his newspaper.

"The problem is: he's not one of a kind bird," Jack said and took a huge sip of his hot coffee. Tulio nodded along the statement, rubbing his chin with his hand. He then got up and picked the box which the injured Toucan was lied safely.

"Okay, I'm going to give him some aids here, and I suppose you guys need to wait outside first. Uhhh- Linda, can you please lead him to the Waiting Room?"

While Tulio was giving the injured Toucan some aids in the Treatment Room; Jackie and Linda, along with Neville Wayne, were sitting on a couch in outside of the Treatment Room, or in theory they were in the Waiting Room, talking to each other.

"So uhhhh- about this pet 'Blu' bird, how close are you two guys?" Jackie asked the American lady who was also sitting on the other couch on his side, while Wayne was perching on his left shoulder.

"Oh, you mean 'Blu'? Well, I think- I think he's the most adorable bird in this world. He's not my pet, he's my best friend; and we have been living together for almost fifteen years in Minnesota, after I had found him as a cold lonely baby-sized macaw inside a box that had fallen from a truck, so I think you know how close we are," Linda said while looking down on the floor. By the look of it, she was kind of sad that her 'Big Brave Boy' had gone from her life.

"And, how could you two guys end up in Rio?" Jackie continued to give her questions.

"Well, one morning, Tulio suddenly came into our house and imported us that Blu was the last male of his kind. He wanted us to go to Brazil to meet the last female of his kind, Jewel, to save this species from extinction."

"Oh, I see."

"At first, Blu and I felt unsure about it. There are some reasons why he didn't want to come here. You might want to know, that actually he w-was not able to f-fly!" Linda explained, but Jackie didn't give any reactions of surprise when he heard that. He turned his head to Wayne, who instead half-closed his eyes and smirked in response.

"That's not a surprise to hear that," Jackie said flatly while looking at Linda.

"Really?" Linda stared back at the young man.

"Yeah, really. You found him as a baby chick fifteen years ago. That means he couldn't learn to get flying ability by himself. A baby bird needs their parents to teach their child to fly, that's what should have been done," Jackie explained while putting his serious tone. Linda instead raised her eyebrows and chuckled. "O ho ho. Yeah, I should have known that, of course."

"Uhhh- can you continue to retell that experience, please?"

"Oh, yes, of course," Linda cleared her throat before speaking. She then started to tell Jackie about Blu's first met with Jewel, the smugglers capturing them, the mission to find the blue macaws in the Carnival Parade, until Blu had finally got his flying ability and came back with Jewel safely, except for her broken wing. Jackie was listening to every parts of Linda's magical experience in Rio de Janeiro. He then looked back at Wayne, who once again half-closed his eyes and smirked in response.

"Well, hearing the story you gave me, that was the most awesome thing to ever happen on Rio, Ms. Gunderson," Jackie said while smiling. Linda fixed her glasses with her free hands after a very long story-telling.

"Yeah, thank you. Well, how about you then? Are you a local or maybe a tourist?" Linda asked curiously. Jackie suddenly got very nervous and laid his back on the comfy seat.

"Uhhhh, well a-a-actually I came from A-a-america just like you. So- so that probably means I'm also a tourist here," he awkwardly answered.

"Oh, what do you come here for?"

"W-well I uhhhh-" Jack merely glanced at Wayne on his shoulder. Wayne moved his beak side-to-side, which was meaning that he advised Jackie not to tell any further information about them. Jackie then stared back at her. He had a worried expression on his face, which made Linda concerned about him.

"Are you OK?"

"I think- I think I might want to talk about it to both of you- and uhhh Mr. Monteiro as soon as he finishes his work. So let's just wait for a minute," Jackie said nervously as he lied his flat back on the seat.

"O-okay then. That's fine," Linda said softly while fixing her glasses again. Jackie glanced back at his Scarlet macaw, who had a bird smile on his beak. After that he jumped on Jackie's lap, the bird swiftly tucked inside his person's jacket to get a nice and comfortable sleep. After almost a half hour full of awkward silence, the door of the Treatment Room was finally opened by Tulio, who then reported about the result of the Toucan's condition to Jackie, Linda, and also to Neville Wayne. He said that the Toco Toucan just needed a couple of days of resting to heal the small twisted wing, and he was still out-cold because of burned wound that had attacked near his heart. But it was said that he was going to wake up soon.

After hearing that, Jackie felt a sight of relief in his chest. He looked back at Wayne, who also stared back at him.

"Okay, you heard what he says. Do your assignments, Wayne," The Scarlet macaw nodded as he suddenly flew inside the Treatment Room to accompany the still unconscious Toucan by himself. Jackie looked back at Tulio, and then turned back to Linda, putting on his serious face.

"I would really thank you for everything you did, Mr. Monteiro. I don't know what would happen if you weren't here. But now, I gotta tell something really important to you two," Jackie said putting on his serious tone, sweat dripping down on his fore head. Tulio and Linda became confused and looked at each other, and then stared back at Jackie.

"Sure, what is it, Jackie?" Tulio asked worriedly, hoping that it was not about the Spix macaws' problem. Jackie inhaled for a second before speaking, his chocolate brown eyes looked down to the floor.

"That female blue macaw you call 'Jewel',

Oh no! Looks like it becomes more confusing about why Jewel is going to die, right? I hope you guys like my new OC, Jackie Alexander Bond. His voice is just like Hiccup from How To Train Your Dragon movie, so I think he would have been cast by Jonathan Adam Saunders Baruchel.

Neville Wayne is back again, Ladies and Gentlemen. For the next chapters, what is Jackie and Wayne's purpose of coming to Rio de Janeiro? Do they know something about the Red-Hooded Bird? Who is that injured Toucan actually? Why is Wayne always half-closing his eyes and smiling? Read and find out!
