Déjà vu. After a long weekend of eventfulness, and a month of haphazard drama, things finally went back into their original patterns. The school days dragged out endlessly with work piling on top of itself, the upcoming finals slowing everything.

And in case anyone is wondering, Haru drowned. It took Sonne and Nagisa to drag his heavy puberty-struck body out of the water (mostly Sonne. Nagisa just wanted to find a way to help). Neither one of them told Haru which on of them gave him CPR, and even with his persistent nagging, they still haven't told him. The red head was the only one to come out of this with burnt shoulders.

"I don't get this at all…" Nagisa moaned, throwing her body over the desk for lack of comprehension. Sonne being a study-abroad student, actually had to keep up his grades in order to stay in the school, labeling his blonde self down as someone who actually knew what he was doing in the class.

The blue-eyed foreigner gnawed at his chopsticks, watching other students scramble around the room in an attempt to avoid the rain outside. "It's not my fault or responsibility to keep up with your grades," Haru retorted, keeping his feet propped up on one of the chairs.

"Yup…"

Listless. Both Haru and Nagisa raised an eyebrow, eying the blonde in his state of lethargy. She was the first to open her mouth. "What's wrong with you?"

"Nothing… It's just…" He sighed. "There's a bad smell in the air…"

Haru pointed his nose in the air. "A smell?" she responded, her face twisting up more.

"I can't smell anything weird… What're you talking about?" he asked, trying to get the shorter to look him in the eye.

"It's almost like… the smell of a sewer rat."

The summer sun shone down making the field like an oven. Gym class was having everyone run around like the track team, the students in said club already off and sprinting while those who weren't were left behind to stretch. Nagisa was off in her own class playing volleyball as the assignment for the day.

"OW!" Sonne's attention snapped back down to Haru, the foreigner's hands spread out on Haruki's back in position to help him stretch. "YOU'RE PUSHING TOO HARD! HUUURTS!" Immediately Sonne shrunk back and watched as Haru tried to bend backwards in an attempt to undo the stress that went on his hamstring.

"S-sorry…"

"Sheesh, there really is something wrong with you today. Where'd all your energy go?"

"No- really! I'm good!" A koi smile.

Sonne held out a hand, feeling Haru's weight pull at his limb. When the coach called the rest of the class to the start, Sonne turned his back and began trotting off in the opposite direction. "Tell the teacher I'm going to the bathroom, 'kay?" he called over his shoulder. Before Haru even had the chance to respond, the coach ordered the rest of them to start their running.

It was an easy enough task. Taking time to head up and down the mountain left either forms he took on more lean than he thought it would. Keeping a steady pace on flat land was much easier than moving up a slippery slope. The only problem was the damned heat.

Even though he was playing in his most fleshy pink form, he could still feel the thickness of his coat weighing down on his body. Maybe this is what Sonne was feeling. The heat of the summer haze must have been diving the wolf that'd been raised up north insane. In the corner of his eye, he could see Nagisa jumping up and down, celebrating the victory with her teammates as beads of sweat rolled of her forehead.

His eyes dilated quick, even with the sun glaring down and reflecting on the ground. One foot moved over the other haphazardly and before he knew it, Haru was eating the dirt, moving into a feeble position in an attempt to protect his head. Fweeeeeeet!

It hurt. Like the way Sonne was putting too much pressure on his back earlier. Fweeeet! Haru covered his ears, feeling a cry move up and down his throat at the feeling of needles in his eardrums. Immediately students began crowding the student, Haru catching a slight glimps of Nagisa trying to take a peek over another boy's shoulder.

Fweeeeeeeet! The high-pitched noise continued. By the time the coach had brought a stretcher over, sweat was mixing with the tears that rolled down his cheeks. His guts churned, a fading conscience making its way around his mind. Haruki's mind only allowed a certain series of scenes; first was the sun rocking back and forth as he was carried away. Next were the double doors as they rushed him inside. For a good second he could see the other wolf child and his only other friend keeping pace with the stretcher, but that was the last time he saw them before he was laying down in the nurse's office, the white curtain drawn and the AC on full blast.

His head felt like it'd been racked, his vision evading him for a moment as he tried to sit up. "Ugh…" It felt like he was going to throw up.

"You feeling okay?" From behind the curtain a shadow was portrayed. From the sound of the voice, male. Couldn't have been much older than Haru himself. Must've been one of the nurse's assistants.

"Yeah… I might puke, though…"

The curtain swished open. "Well, that's a common side-affect of dehydration, you see." Haru's eyes opened wide.

"Shouta?"

A wide smile became plastered on his peer's face. "Long-time-no-see, huh?"
