Ganondorf immersed himself in work. Farmers from Hyrule had approached him and they had settled down in the dessert. With the help of everyone they built pipelines and wells recreating the dessert into flourishing lands. They had left his dark and gloomy castle and instead rebuilt the Gerudo fortress into an even larger fortress with flourishing market places. Surprisingly many nations had picked up trade with them. The gerudo silk was very popular as were the coffee beans. The colorful carpets were popular by the traveling salesman too and Zelda bought many of their goods. In return they bought corn, milk and important herbs and healing plants from Hyrule. Demon attacks were very common nowadays and he had to restructure the entire tribe. Soon hero's started to pop up everywhere. They called themselves "Beta-Testers" And with them suddenly came the knowledge that they were indeed a game in the greater scheme. Quests were made for the hero's and experience was given as a reward. Sometimes money or potions or other item they needed for their quests were given to the heroes. Ganondorf had hardly time to interact with them as most of them were far too weak and only the strongest would be able to fulfill his quests. They told them more would be coming soon, after they had launched the MMORPG. Koume had opened a healing potion store and Kotake a magic potion store. Nabooru was in charge of the soldiers and told the hero's when they were ready for stronger enemies. Aveil often used the heroes to send messages to Hyrule or bring some important item from someplace to another. Shadow had become one of the heroes teacher as had Vaati. While Vaati taught them destructive magic attacks, Shadow taught them difficult attacks or secret attacks with the sword or sabers. The knowledge they were blessed with overnight brought him sorrow as their world was restructured. All these heroes that came and went how they pleased. They all had to play for them. He still was the grumpy and intimidating king but now he was one the good side. The heroes could choose before they came into this world if they wanted to be a hylian, a gerudo, a zora or a goron. Now that he knew that all was just a game his heart felt even heavier with the knowledge of having truly killed someone. He gritted his teeth in anger at the knowledge that Demise still was out there somewhere, because he couldn't die …because he was part of this world … unlike her. He truly missed her. His people had been shocked at his change of heart. He suspected Nabooru had told everyone what had happened because they had brought red flowers and decorated the queens empty throne ever since. Lightening candles for a woman they never truly had the chance to meet and he loved them for it. He was proud of them and glad and honored that they did this for him. Nabooru had made them built a garden where she had planted red flowers everywhere just to have flowers all the time. He had brought wealth and peace to his people faster than he ever imagined. None of them needed to hunger and all seemed happy. And for the first time in over hundreds of years little baby boys were born to the Gerudo woman. The woman said it was because Din was pleased and he sincerely hoped she was for he still had a lot to make up for. When Zelda asked him to walk her down the aisle he was shocked at first. When he realized she was serious he accepted. Their wedding was beautiful. They had decorated the entire castle and all of Castle Town with white flowers. The day was beautiful with blue sky and a mild summer breeze. He had gifted Link and Zelda generously with goods from his people. It was that day he realized he was happy for them and their love. It was also the day he dreamed for the first time in what seemed like forever to him. A warm breeze ran over him and he opened his eyes. Sitting up in his bed he saw the veils swing softly in the summer breeze. "Good morning" he heard Felicia's voice tell him. His eyes widened after hearing her voice after such a long time. He turned to see her lay beside him her blue eyes sparkling in the morning sun. Her golden wings lazily flapping behind her and her long brown hair fell all around her uncombed as if she had just woken up. He grabbed her and pulled her closer kissing her deeply. "This is a dream … I killed you …" he said after they pulled apart for air. She hesitated for a moment "Yes you are dreaming … but that doesn't mean I'm not really here. I'm so proud of you" she told him. "I don't understand?" he asked confused. She smiled at him putting her hands over his heart. "You changed so much. You have done so many good things" she told him. "You watch me?" he asked. "Always … and I couldn't be prouder of you" she answered smiling at him looking very proud. "Are you alright … what happened to you after you died?" he asked worriedly stroking her cheek. She avoided his gaze. "Do not worry for me. I'm fine … I'm here for a reason" she told him. "Everything. I will do everything you ask of me" he told her bowing his head. "Then please forget me. Ganondorf … what you are doing isn't healthy. Your people need you, they need a king who doesn't look beside him on an empty throne and mourn something that wasn't meant to be" she told him. "My people need me yes. But I need you" he answered her grabbing her once more to kiss her. "I'm death Ganondorf … don't make this harder on both of us" she said tears in her eyes. "If you are death how can you be here?" he asked her. "They allowed me to say goodbye … before I fade" she whispered kissing him back and wrapping her arms around him. "I will never stop saying goodbye to you then" he told her as he pulled her closer stroking her back. She sobbed and buried her face in his neck. "I'm sorry" she told him. "Do not be. You were all I ever wished for and I was too blind to see it" he answered as he pulled the curtains of the bed close around them. Ganondorf lay on his side supporting his head with his left hand while he stroke Felicia's hair with his right. She was sleeping peacefully curled up beside him wrapped in the sheets. This was how it should have been he thought and wished it would never end. But as if sensing his thoughts he heard the door to his room open in this dream world. He wrapped his arms around her protectively and turned to look who had entered. Though they had chosen to enter in human appearance he instantly knew who these three women were. The first wore a green dress and had long flowing green hair. The second wore a blue dress and had dark blue hair and a Hylian appearance. The third looked very much like a Gerudo with flaming red hair and a fitting red outfit. Looking back at the still sleeping form of Felicia he clenched his fists his teeth gritting in anger. "You cannot take her" he told them summoning a sword which surprisingly appeared. "It is time" Din told him her golden eyes gleaming at him dangerously as reached her hands out. "You must let go. This was only supposed to be a goodbye. We were merciful granting you this much time" Nayru told him. "Let us take her. She will not feel pain now that she has fallen asleep … her light is fading fast" Farore told him. "You are being selfish" Nayru told him narrowing her eyes at him. "No. I'm not … for once I am thinking about someone else before me. Take me instead. She did not deserve to die" he told them. "Take me and take back your cursed triforce. I do not wish to live … let alone forever without her" he told them. "A noble offer but there is an order to things and it cannot be disturbed" Nayru told him. "Yes because you will only reorder time for your precious princess and her hero" he hissed at her. Nayru's eyes narrowed at him. "Things are as they must be" she told him icily. "Then you will have to take me alongside her" Ganondorf answered raising his sword. He felt a soft touch on his arm. Felicia had sat up on the bed holding the sheets to her chest a sad smile on her lips as he fell to his knees. She was draining his powers. "I'm sorry. I can't let you do this" she told him kissing him softly on the lips. "Please live … there are so many great things you will do. I know it… I love you" she told him and walked towards the goddesses. "I'm ready" she told them. Din smiled at her and took her hand. "Do not fear my child. I will guide you" she told Felicia. Felicia turned to look at him her eyes filled with tears. His dream faded and he woke up abruptly sitting up in his bed. A golden light filled the sky and he rushed to the window as the night was filled with the golden light of a falling star. He jumped down from the balcony flying to the courtyard where the light seemed to land. The windows of the castle opened as people awoke from the blinding light. Zelda and Link stood on their balcony looking down as Ganondorf walked closer towards the light and reached out. A soft hand placed itself into his and he pulled her towards him. Felicia laughed and they kissed as the light began to fade. Someone started to clap and soon everyone seemed to cheer them on. Felicia blushed and they hugged together. He fell to his knees in front of her and the crowd went wild. Felicia bit her lip nervously but still beaming in happiness. "Will you become my queen?" he asked her grinning. She fell around his neck "Of course" she answered nearly crying in happiness. "How did you get back here? Why did the goddesses change their mind?" he asked her. "They never changed their mind. You offered them the triforce and you were willing to fight them for me. You learned to care … and to love" she told him smiling. "It was a trick?" he said surprised. "I waited for you" she told him. "And I for you my queen" he answered kissing her again. "Show me your new world my love" she asked him. "I think we should wait until tomorrow for that. But I could show you my rooms" he whispered into her neck. She giggled as he pulled her closer and disappeared with her.
