I avoided Danny for as long as I could, but he eventually just came to me. Even with as many hiding spots the Fentons had accidentally created over the years, I couldn't hide from him forever. I already knew what he wanted to talk about when he came to me.

"Sam, will you just talk to me?"

"I told you to forget about it, Danny."

"I can't do that, Sam. Can we please just talk about it?" He was begging me and using those damn puppy dog eyes that were so hard to deny.

"I don't want to talk about it, not right now."

Danny was silent for a minute. "Okay," he finally said. "I can't forget what happened Sam, but I can wait until you're ready to talk about. Can you do that for me?"

I sighed, knowing that no matter what I said, we would have talk about it eventually. It didn't matter how Danny felt about me, he would want to know what that kiss meant and make sure I was okay. We didn't hide many things from each other, and he wouldn't let me hide the meaning behind that kiss for long. "Okay, Danny. We can talk about it eventually, just not now."

Danny smiled. "Good." There was a slightly awkward moment of silence. "So, you gonna keep trying to avoid me or come willingly?" There was a mischievous look in his eyes. I didn't know what he was planning though.

"Maybe I'll just keep hiding," I teased. We were out in the open and his mom was barely out of earshot. He wouldn't use his powers to make me come with him, so what was he planning?

He shrugged his shoulders. "You leave me no choice then."

He looked over his shoulder to see how much attention she was paying us. I followed his line of sight and found this to be just a distraction. He caught me off guard and managed to get me over his shoulder. "Danny!" I shouted, catching Maddie's attention. She turned to look at us and laughed for a moment before confusion settled on her face.

I didn't realize what had confused her until we made it back up to his room, giggling like a pair of school children.

"You okay, Danny?" I asked, remembering just how bad he looked only an hour ago.

"Yeah, why?"

"You looked pretty bad earlier, that's all."

"I know. It looked worse than it really was. It's mostly gone by now." He lifted his shirt up to show the healing flesh. There was only a line of irritated flesh left where the wound had been.

"Damn," I said. "I hadn't realized how fast you healed." I really hadn't. I knew he got hurt pretty badly on a scarily regular basis, but I hadn't before realized that his injuries probably started off even worse than they were by the time I saw them.

"It's been getting faster as I get stronger. As long as I can keep my strength up, just about anything will heal itself within two hours at the most."

"And what takes longer?" By the look on his face, I could tell he hadn't meant for me to pick up on that.

He put his hand on the back of his neck. "I uh...may have pretty much shattered my back once or twice. That hurt like hell the first time it happened. I wasn't completely sure my ghost half would be able to heal all the nerve damage by itself."

"Danny! Why the hell didn't you come to us?"

"I didn't want to worry you unless I knew it wasn't going heal on its own. I could feel it healing, it just wasn't as fast as I was used to."

"You should have come to us anyway. What if it didn't heal by itself? The last thing we need is for you to get yourself paralyzed!"

He chuckled. "Do you know how overprotective you get sometimes?" I glared at him. "I'm fine, Sam. That's all that matters."

"I just don't like that you apparently aren't calling us when you aren't sure if you'll be okay."

"I'll call you in the future, okay?"

I sighed. "Okay. Just please try to remember that your ghost half isn't invincible and if that goes down the rest of you will too." As I finished speaking, I could have sworn I heard a gasp come from the hall just outside his room, but I had to have imagined it.

"I will, Sam," he said.

"Good," I said with a yawn.

"You look tired. You really haven't been sleeping well, have you?" I only shook my head in response. "Get some sleep, Sam. I promise I'll still be in one piece when you wake up."

"You damn well better be," I grumbled, hearing him chuckle as my eyes started to close. I hadn't realized how tired I was until I found I could barely keep my eyes open.

What the hell was he doing? I didn't want this, I'd never wanted this! "Stop! Please!" I was begging him to stop, but my words fell on deaf ears. I could feel his hands bruising my skin as he grabbed me. I knew there would be deep bruises on my arms and as he started to rip my clothes off, I knew there'd be bruises on the rest of my body too. When he threw the scraps of cloth that had been my clothes off to the side, I opened my eyes for just a fraction of a second. I could see the pure lust in his eyes and it scared the shit out of me. There wasn't even some fucked up psychological reason behind what he was doing, he just thought I was hot and thought he should get what he wanted.

I screamed as Dash forced my legs apart. The scream only grew when I felt him force his way inside my body. I screamed and cried as Dash forced himself on me, paralyzed and unable to move even though he wasn't actually holding me down.

Then, I heard a voice. One that was familiar, but I didn't think was really there. "I'm here for you, Sam."

"Danny?" I whispered.

"Look up. Find me," the voice instructed and I did as I was told.

"DANNY!" I screamed as loud as I possibly could as soon as I spotted that black and silver streak in the sky.

I woke to the sound of my own voice screaming for Danny. I could feel the tears rolling down my face and Danny's arms wrapped around me. I was sobbing uncontrollably into his chest again.

"It's okay, Sam. It's just a dream, he can't hurt you. I'm here for you Sam," Danny whispered in my ear, slowly calming me down. He said the same things over and over again until I started to really believe them and finally pulled myself together.

When the tears had slowed, I pulled myself away from him some. "You okay?" he asked, wiping a stray tear from my cheek. I nodded. "Good," he said. I barely registered it when he lightly kissed the top of my head. I blushed, looking away and only just then realizing his mother was also in the room. I hadn't heard her come in; had she already been in the room?

"I'm going to leave you two alone. Call me if you need me," she said, walking out as I finally brought the tears to a stop.

"God, I hate nightmares," I grumbled. Really, I just hated how they fucked with my emotions so much. If the effects of the dream would stay in the damn dream, I wouldn't hate them nearly as much.

Danny laughed. "I take it that means you're okay."

"Yup," I said, though I honestly wasn't so sure that I was okay as opposed to just avoiding it. "Why was your mom in here?" I asked, trying to get the conversation away from my dream.

"She was asking about my injury." He sighed. "I think you're right. I do need to tell them, I just don't know how to. After spending the last few years fighting to hide it, I really don't know how I'm supposed to bring it up to them. 'Hey mom and dad! I never actually told you, but that portal accident made me half ghost! And guess what! You've spent the past two years hunting me like a fucking animal!' Yeah, that's not going to work."

I chuckled softly and patted him on the back. "I'm sure you'll figure it out, oh Clueless One."

"I still don't get why you say I'm clueless."

"You'll figure that our eventually too."
