Elizabeth rolled to her side, a pleasant smile curling on her lips as she saw Stefan next to her. She ran a finger down his chest. "Good morning."
Stefan's green eyes flew open. He seemed a bit confused about where he was, but then he visible relaxed. "Morning, how did you sleep?"
"Better." She admitted, her night ruined by Kol had admittedly gotten better. "Thanks for staying with me last night."
Stefan smiled. "My pleasure." He leaned down and kissed her again. Elizabeth placed both hands against one cheekbone guiding him downward.
"Well, isn't this lovely my baby sister and my former friend the ripper getting cozy in bed."
Elizabeth froze and she immediately pulled away from Stefan to glare at her older brother. What the hell was he doing here? She was twenty miles away from Mystic Falls and yet he was still here to bother her?
"Klaus, get out." She scowled as she stood up. "This is my house."
"Then next time, dear sister I'll let our idiotic brother Kol attack you since you wish to be so independent." Klaus shot back. "I need to have a word with both of you."
"Then talk," she snapped back.
"Kol's irrational fear of Silas has put him over the edge, we need to deal with him as soon as possible. I know you have the last dagger Beth so hand it over," Klaus opened his palm.
Elizabeth raised an eyebrow. "And have Kol come out of nowhere like last night and leave myself unprotected, no way," without looking back she went to the bathroom and closed the door.
Klaus gave an irritated sigh. "I need that dagger Stefan, talk some sense into her and as soon as she lets her guard down swoop in and steal it."
"I'm not going to betray Elizabeth, Klaus." Stefan frowned.
"Oh, don't give me that Stefan I'm giving you a menial task. The girl has been in love with you for over ninety years, she's putty in your hands." He spat. "Rebekah has the other dagger and Kol has run off with the rest of them. There's no way in hell that Rebekah is going to give it to me and I though Elizabeth would surely be easier. Think about it Stefan, the sooner we put Kol to sleep, the sooner we'll get the cure and a human Elena, isn't this what you always wanted?"
Stefan didn't even blink. "I'm not betraying Elizabeth, Klaus."
"Fine," Klaus said darkly. "Both of you be idiots, just remember if both of you end up dead because of my brother's grasp, you have only yourselves to blame."
After a while Stefan cleared his throat. "He's gone, you can come out now."
Elizabeth came out sheepishly from the bathroom. She gave him a small hug. "Thanks."
Stefan chuckled. "What for?"
"For not telling him where the dagger was," she looked up at him. "At least I can trust someone."
"That went well," Damon rolled his blue eyes from the driver's seat as Klaus closed the door. "Let me guess asking baby sis for that itty bitty favor was a bust. I told you she wouldn't give it to you, that girl is stubborn."
"I don't have time for your idiocy Damon," Klaus snapped as he closed the car door. "Let's head back home, I'll convince Rebekah to give me her dagger."
Damon groaned. "Sure you will, meanwhile we'll just skip over the fact that Jeremy is threatened by Kol to kill Elizabeth, that Elena is sired to me, and that Stefan is giving me the silent treatment because he's pissed that I slept. with Elena."
Now it was Klaus turned to snort. "I'm not sure he was that upset, mate. I saw him and Beth looking . . . very cozy. Those two are blinded by their love it really is pathetic them acting like a bunch of lovesick fools."
"Wait, Stefan and Elizabeth slept together and he's still playing the victim card?" Damon scoffed. "Well, it seems our baby siblings took a page out of our revenge sex handbook."
"And you promise you will only use it on Kol right Nik?" Rebekah said suspiciously as she placed the dagger on Klaus's hand.
Klaus rolled his eyes. "I promise sister, at least one of you is loyal."
"Rebekah," Elizabeth stormed into the room, her face furious. "What the hell is wrong with you? He's going to dagger Kol, again."
"I know," she said. "But it's for the best, Beth he tried to kill you last night."
"Listen to reason, Elizabeth," Klaus said. "And don't be foolish by a blind heart, in order to protect our family, to protect you we need to keep our brother Kol safely put away in a box for our century or two."
"What do you know about family?" she screamed back at him. "You don't know anything about family! You terrorize, you dictate, you bully people into getting your way. You're a terrible person, Klaus."
"Don't test my temper Elizabeth!"
"Admit it you coward!" she said. "You don't care about anyone one else, only your selfish needs."
Klaus growled as she stabbed Elizabeth with the dagger. Elizabeth let out a little whimper of pain as she felt her strength leaving her. "I think dear, little sister it's time you learned a lesson long overdue."
Rebekah watched in horror as Elizabeth's body slowly turned gray and fell to the floor. "Nik, what is wrong with you? That dagger was for Kol."
"Beth deserved it," he fumed as he watched his sister's desiccated face. "And no matter, I'll find out where she hid her dagger."
Jeremy paced around the room as Bonnie and Elena watched closely by. He looked at his arm. "It didn't work, we killed Kol and the mark still didn't appear. Klaus is going to murder us in our sleep."
"It took a while for Finn's entire line to die, remember?" Bonnie said gently. "It will work."
"But what if it doesn't?"
"Where's that Gilbert optimism?" Damon joked as he hugged Elena. "Hey, sorry I missed all the excitement."
"Hey, I got the headstone," Stefan opened the door, led by Rebekah. Her face was covered with tears and she was glaring at Elena, apparently she had heard about Kol's death.
"What is Rebekah doing here?" Elena fumed.
Rebekah smirked.
"She's on our side." Stefan said tiredly. "She helped find the headstone, she and Elizabeth are on our side."
"Let me guess Elizabeth pledge her alliance while you two were naked and having sex?" Damon said sarcastically.
Stefan pushed Damon against the wall. "You just couldn't wait to get that out?"
"I'm sorry was that supposed to be some big secret?"
"Stop it both of you," Elena looked at Stefan "Stefan, why would you sleep with Elizabeth, she's our enemy."
"Oh, put a sock in it Elena," Rebekah snapped. "You think everyone around you is out to get you, you're with Damon now why don't you let Stefan find a little happiness. Stefan and Elizabeth have been in love for ninety years, you're what? Seventeen. Darling, you don't know what love is."
"Yes, because you've had such great relationships."
Stefan blocked Rebekah from hurling a vase at Elena's head. "That's enough, Rebekah is going with you in search for the cure. I'm staying."
"Why?" Jeremy asked.
"Because my sensitive, asshole of a brother Klaus daggered Elizabeth and locked her up somewhere," Rebekah smirked. "And Stefan being her true prince charming is going to look for her while we get our hands on the cure."
