Time to start a little action... after all, this is a PJO fic...
And, as a reminder, Izzy and Addy will not be going on a quest this summer. This summer...
Chapter 9
"Okay, what's the deal with your sister and Sloan?" Trixie asked, sitting down next to Izzy a few minutes after Sirius had gotten up.
"What do you mean?" Izzy asked. She popped a grape into her mouth.
"Turn around and look," Trixie said. So, Izzy did, and in doing so, she nearly choked on the grape when she spotted the two slow dancing. "Yeah, that was my reaction. I thought she was very much against him."
"Last I talked to her on that topic, she was," Izzy said. "However, she did want him to win the archery contest." She frowned a bit, watching Addy, her head resting on Sloan's shoulder.
"Anyway," Trixie said, taking Izzy's attention again. "You were getting pretty flirty with Sirius..."
"What?" Izzy shook her head. "No, we were just talking."
"Dancing, talking, that adorable smile of his directed at you..." Trixie said. "He's totally into you."
"Trixie, I'm positive that he's not," Izzy said. She glanced down at the grapes. "And even if he was at all, I'm sure he's not now."
"Why wouldn't he be?" Trixie asked. "You're pretty, you're nice, a little more insecure everyday, but that's probably because of Sonny and the bimbos."
"Well, because I told him I like Sonny," Izzy said. "And I don't think he was really okay with that."
"Oh... well, that was silly of you," Trixie said. She leaned back. "You don't think Sirius is cute or something?"
Izzy shrugged. "I don't know," she said. "I mean, sure, but I hardly know him."
"You hardly know Sonny," Trixie said. "What you do know about him is that he doesn't commit." She nudged Izzy. "Come on, Sirius is talking with some other guys, he looks relaxed. Why not ask him to dance again."
"I know what is in Sonny's heart," Izzy said. "I can feel it. He looks at me differently from the other girls."
Trixie sighed. "Whatever you say, Iz," she said.
"What will all your new admirers think?" Addy asked Sloan as the song ended and the two stepped apart.
"Personally, I don't really care," Sloan said. "Anyway, somehow I think that you'll be more satisfied by their reaction than you might realize." He reached up and pushed a little bit of her hair out of her face, stepping close to her again.
Addy was still blushing and was thankful that the sun was casting a red glow on everything. "That's probably true," she said in a quiet voice. She tilted her head just a bit to the side and slowly allowed her eyes to close.
"AAAAHHHHHH!"
Addy and Sloan jumped apart. They turned to the girl that had screamed, a daughter of Apollo. She was pointing at the water, so Addy turned that way too. Her eyes widened and she jumped backwards. "What are those?"
"Telekhines," Sloan said pushing Addy behind him. There were about twenty of them, and they were coming out of the water. They had dog heads, but looked mostly like sea lions... with claws. "Everyone, get back to camp!" Sloan called out. Most didn't hesitate. Orion and Sirius, however stood as if they were ready to fight.
"Izzy, go to the Big House and alert Chiron," Addy shouted, spinning around to see that Sloan stood with the child of Zeus and the child of Hades. "Sloan, get out of there."
"Addy, we have to go," Trixie said, grabbing Addy's arm and trying to pull her toward the interior of camp.
Izzy, on the other hand, did not go to the Big House. Instead, she went for weapons. Addy's weapons, specifically. She sped into the Demeter cabin, quickly grabbed Addy's quiver with bow and arrows, along with Addy's sword, and then was speeding back to the beach.
"Addy," Izzy yelled, tossing the sword to her sister. Addy caught it and went charging at the sea monsters. However, her first few slashes barely grazed the monsters, before she was knocked down with a large slash on her arm. Izzy shot off a few arrows, but she wasn't hitting vital parts of the Telekhines, and even the shots that hit, didn't puncture through the skin.
From what Addy could see of Sirius and Orion, they were getting knocked around as well, though they were causing damage through their powers. Orion struck out at one Telekhine and from the way it flew, Addy could tell that he had used lightning with his punch. Next to Sirius, the ground opened up briefly and swallowed another Telekhine. Sirius himself almost slipped in on the sand, but it closed before he fell. She couldn't see much of Sloan through the monsters, until he managed to push through a few, causing damage, but nothing lethal.
"Get next to your sister," Sloan ordered Addy, flat out punching another of the sea monsters. Despite the three fighting, most of the monsters were breaking through and headed toward the camp after those that had run.
Addy paused, but then caught Sloan's eye and followed his instructions. She ran to where her sister was, and a few of the monsters followed. Izzy aimed at those following, but was afraid she might hit her sister instead.
"Switch!" Izzy said, un-notching the arrow and tossing bow and quiver to her sister. Addy tossed the sword in the air, where Izzy ran and caught it, just as Addy caught the bow and quiver. In a moment, she spun around, arrow notched, and sank an arrow into the head of a Telekhine as Izzy dodged some claws and took off both arms of another that had pursued Addy. Within two minutes, the four that had followed Addy were dust.
"You take care of those that went to the interior while I help these three finish off these guys," Izzy said to Addy. As Izzy was better at battle plans, Addy nodded and went running into the camp, another arrow ready.
Izzy didn't even pause after instructing Addy to see if Addy followed her directions, she just went charging. The closest one wasn't facing her, but was about to strike Orion from behind. A moment later, her sword was ripping through it, and it turned to dust before her swing was finished.
"Thanks," Orion said, having a moment to actually breathe.
"No problem,"Izzy said, and then brought Addy's sword up to meet another, though this one actually fought back.
Addy sometimes wished she could run like her sister, like during the mile-run at school. Now was one of those times. Her advantage was that, with her bow, she could shoot the Telekhines from a distance. Her disadvantage, when they were attacking someone, she didn't have the perfect accuracy to hit the monster and not the person.
"Off her!" Addy yelled, jumping at one and stabbing her arrow into its neck rather than shooting it. It had just pounced onto a DOA.
"Oh my gawds, thank you thank you so much," the girl said, grabbing Addy's hand in gratitude.
"Uh, yeah..." Addy said. "No problem." Apparently the mayhem of the Telekhines had now caused most of the camp into action. One was trying to sneakily creep away, so Addy aimed and shot it in the shoulder, causing it to cry out. A small barrage of arrows followed, turning it into dust. Addy noticed a few Apollo campers behind her, where the arrows came from.
"You could have better aim if you trained with me," Sonny said, walking up next to her.
"I hit it, at least," Addy said. "Which, considering it's not a godly power of mine, I'd say it was a good shot."
"It was a great shot," Jemma said walking up next to them. "For a non-Apollo child, non-Hunter, at least."
Sonny looked at the Hunter. "Who are you?"
She smiled at him, very smugly. "I'm the girl that beat you," she said.
"You weren't part of the competition," Sonny said.
"Then I challenge you-"
"Can you do that later?" Addy said. She took aim at another Telekhine, shot. Two other arrows, one from either side of her, hit and killed it before hers could do the job.
"Like I said," Sonny said.
"I'm a beginner, so shut it," Addy snapped. She began stomping off, before remembering the beach. "Oh, gods, I hope Izzy's alright." She turned back and began running back to the beach.
To her relief, Izzy was fine, laughing a bit. Addy watched as Izzy and Orion shared a fist bump and Sirius slung his arm over Izzy's shoulder. All three boys there had sustained injuries, and Izzy's shirt- scratch that, Izzy was wearing Addy's shirt- had a rip in it, but otherwise, they had apparently won their battle. Addy ran up to her sister and hugged her tightly. She then looked at Sloan, who was picking up the rear. Addy marched up to him and slapped him across the face.
"Gods!" Sloan snapped at her. "What's your problem?"
"You could have gotten yourself killed!" Addy snapped, shaking from rage.
"My father's the god of wars, or did you forget that!" Sloan snapped back. "Fighting runs in my blood."
"Without a weapon?!" Addy yelled. "Who would teach me to fight if you died?"
"I would have thought you'd have liked if I wasn't around to force you into sparring lessons," Sloan said, his eyes narrowing at her.
Addy's eyes began to water and her jaw trembled. But she wouldn't allow herself to cry. Instead she turned around and stomped back to camp.
News had gotten around how Izzy had killed at least six of the Telekhines by lunch the next day. For once, Izzy felt like she was appreciated. Everyone wanted to see how good she was with a sword, and by the end of lunch, the Hephaestus cabin had a present for her.
She looked at the bronze colored bracelet they presented before her. A simple chain with a small flower charm, also the bronze color. "We heard you really liked flowers," one of the guys said.
Izzy blushed. "Um... thanks," she said. So as not to offend them, she slipped it on her wrist.
"Now," Alex said, stepping up from between her brothers. "Twist your wrist, like this." Alex demonstrated twisting her wrist from facing the ground, to facing the ceiling. "But, stand up and step back first."
Izzy eyed them for a moment, but stood up and stepped away from the table. She twisted her wrist like they said, and when she did, the flower turned into a celestial bronze long sword. Izzy's skepticism turned into delight. "Thank you guys so much," she said.
"So, next time you don't have to run for your sister's weapons," one of Alex's brothers said. "To turn it back, just toss it into that air." Izzy did as told, and the sword disappeared, and the flower charm shimmered back onto the bracelet.
Izzy was almost glowing with happiness as she thanked the Hephaestus cabin with hugs. When she got to archery, she let down her hair, like Char had told her to do. She smiled when Sonny walked in. "Hey, Sonny, look what I was given today." She didn't bother showing him the bracelet and flower charm, just twisted her wrist and showed off her new sword.
"Nice." Sonny smiled at her. "I heard you were excellent last night," he said. "But, apparently your archery was lacking a bit."
Izzy tossed the sword up and it returned to its flower charm. Her eyes traveled down. "Yeah, I guess I still need your help a lot."
Sonny nodded. "Let's see if we can fix that," he said, picking up a bow and handing it to her.
Izzy nodded and grabbed an arrow. She remembered Char's advice on how to get him to stand with her. She purposely took the wrong form. The next thing she knew, Sonny was behind her, wrapping his arms over hers and repositioning her. He then brushed all her hair off left shoulder to her right. "Your hair was tickling me," he said, right in her ear. "Okay, now pull back," he said, his arms still wrapped over hers. "And release."
Izzy did as instructed, her stomach doing flips because of Sonny's skin. She released and the arrow sailed through the air, hitting about two inches from the center. It still didn't have the force to sink in, only leaving a small dent.
"I see, you need more power behind your shots," he said.
"I don't know where I'd be without you," Izzy said. She took the stance again, and pulled back. Sonny urged her to pull back more.
"You won't break the bow," he said. "So don't be afraid to go for what you're aiming for."
Izzy looked at him and then back at the target, pulling the arrow just a little farther back, before releasing. This time, it pierced the target.
"With a little work, you'll be deadly with both the sword and the bow," Sonny said. Izzy smiled. "Tell you the truth, I admire a girl that's good with a sword. Eri, Leiko, and Char are really lacking in that, unlike you."
Izzy's smile grew, and she decided to go for what she was aiming for. She stepped closer to him, got on her toes, and kissed him, right on the lips. She felt her stomach twist, until a moment later, Sonny leaned into the kiss and returned the pressure for a moment, his hands taking her waist, bare as she was back in her own shirt. And then he released her, pulling away. His eyes looked at her siblings, most who were too engrossed with their own shooting to realize what had just happened.
"Follow me," Sonny said, taking Izzy's hand.
Izzy felt her face flushing, but she nodded, wrapping her fingers around Sonny's hand, and followed him closely. Her lips tingled from the kiss and her stomach was in knots. She had a feeling that Sonny might end up being her first boyfriend. Had he not just told that she was better than Eri, Leiko, and Char, after all.
"Where are we going?" Izzy finally asked as they were nearing the cabins.
"Where we can be alone," Sonny said, glancing back at her. His blue eyes were sparkling and there was a smile on his lips. Rather than going to either Cabin Nine or Cabin Eleven, where they roomed, he led them to Cabin Two.
"Hera's cabin?" Izzy questioned as he opened the door. She knew just a few things about Hera, but one thing she figured was that Hera would not be happy if they used her cabin as a secret hide out. "She won't be angry?"
Sonny looked around before opening the door and shuffling Izzy in quickly. He closed the door quickly as soon as they were in. And then he spun Izzy into the door and kissed her again. Izzy's eyes widened in shock, but she forced herself to stay calm, and then wrapped her arms over Sonny's shoulders.
After a few moments, Sonny slowed the kiss down and then moved his lips down to Izzy's neck. Izzy's heart beat sped up as his lips and kisses moved along her neck, toward her ear. "Don't worry," he said softly into her ear, before lightly biting her ear lobe. Izzy gasped.
Sonny's hands ran down Izzy's body, taking his time on her bare midrift until they reached her butt, which he gave a good squeeze. Izzy's face turned red, and Sonny just smiled at her reaction, before pressing forward again and kissing her again, this time more intensely. Izzy couldn't help but moan as Sonny slipped his tongue into her mouth. Her body was tingling.
Sonny's hands were back on her waist, his fingers dancing on her bare skin. His hands, slid around her back for a moment, before slipping back forward to her stomach. And Izzy knew why Char had cut her shirts. Sonny loved skin. Skin was sexy. His hands began to slid upwards, caressing the skin just beneath the the now bottom of the shirt. And then they continued to move up, under her shirt.
She gasped as his fingers unsnapped her bra with ease and he slipped his hands under it. Izzy began to breath heavy as Sonny's smile grew, massaging her. He moved his mouth back to her ear and whispered, "Help me out here," before he was back at her neck, licking, kissing, sucking.
Izzy wasn't sure exactly what to do. She'd only been kissed once by a boy, and that had been because he had been dared. And it only lasted the briefest second. But, she decided to pull her shirt off, and bra with it. Sonny chuckled as his mouth moved down. He wrapped his arms around her waist and lifted her into the air for a moment, before gently laying her on the floor. Izzy's head was spinning. She almost doubted it was really happening. And then Sonny's hands, which had made such quick work of her bra, were at the button of her shorts.
"You seem bothered, Linda," Chiron said as the two were walking around the Camp, checking on the kids doing their scheduled activities.
"Well, no one is asking the right question about the Telekhine attack," Linda said.
"And that is?" Chiron asked.
"How did they get into camp?" Linda questioned. "Even out in the water, the boundary still exists."
Chiron nodded. "That has been bothering me as well. If just one escaped, the word could spread and others might come to attack." He looked at Linda. "Camp Half-Blood may not be the safest place for young demigods any longer."
Technically, still rated T.
