"I know you're there, Granger."

I was shocked. How could he know it was me? I didn't even make that much noise!

"You have been acting strange all day. Well, stranger than usual. And who else would be as curios as you when it comes to me talking to another girl?" He smirked.

I couldn't reveal the cloak to him, was my only thought right now.

"Turn around." I whispered quietly.

He did and I took off the cloak.

I touched his am, so he would turn back and he did.

And he was still smirking.

"So, I was right."

I slowly nodded. "Would have been pretty embarrassing if you hadn't been."

He chuckled. He freaking chuckled! I had never heard or seen him to this and his face was smoothing out and looking so carefree.

"I guess. What are you doing here, other than spying on me?"

"None of your business!"

And his smirk returned. "So you were spying on me!"

I was blushing again. Thank god it was so dim in the corridor.

"NO!"

That was a little louder than I had wanted it to be.

We both looked around hastily, as if anyone would be coming up to us.

He took me by my arm and pulled me into the next empty classroom.

"Do you want us to get caught? Together?"

"Of course not!" I spat out, getting irritated. I didn't know if I liked being alone with him in an empty classroom in the middle of the night. It was more myself I didn't trust that him in this situation.

"What were you and Parvati talking about?"

"A party."

I glared at him. "That much I got."

His face softened just a little.

"She asked me to meet her here tonight. She has been trying to get me to go to one of her little parties for quite a while now but I haven't been in the mood for parties this year."

I nodded. That was something I could relate to.

"So, again, what were you doing out of your tower in the middle of the night? Must have been pretty bad if you were so nervous the whole day."

I gave in. "I was researching something in the library."

He looked at me questioningly.

"Your are joking right?" But then he seemed to understand and his smirk returned. "Unless of course our little Gryffindor princess was in the forbidden section!"

I couldn't face him any longer so I looked away.

The moon was the only thing illuminating the room, shining brightly through the big windows.

Why were we talking like friends? Why did I even confess to him about going to the library? Harry and Ron would be furious. Especially Harry since he was still convinced that Malfoy was a Deatheater.

But Somehow I could not lie to Malfoy. I knew he could see right through it if I tried and he would not let it go.

"I was. But I won't tell you why. Please, don't ask me!"

I glanced back at his face, the smirk was gone and his expression was more serious than before.

"Alright." He said softly.

This all felt so surreal. This conversation was nothing I ever expected to have with anyone, let alone Draco Malfoy!

"I probably don't have to tell you how stupid it is for you to be going around the castle in the middle of the night all alone?" His voice was still soft but I could hear how sincere he was.

I slowly nodded. "I know."

"I don't think you do!" He got worked up now. "This castle is NOT as safe as it used to be! You should be more careful!"

My blood froze when he said that. What did he know? This had been the second time he has warned me that the castle wasn't safe!

But then I smirked. "Worried about me?"

He smirked back. "Dreaming, Granger?"

Ah! There was a bit of the old Draco! But it was said without any malice.

We both chuckled and relaxed a bit onto the tables.

We just sat in silence for a few minutes, enjoying the moment.

But I still knew at the same time how strange this whole encounter was. This was Malfoy for Merlins sake! What was I doing?

I was just glad I had the Marauders Map right now, so Harry could not see me or he would have come to my rescue minutes ago. Barging in and ruining this moment that was so perfect somehow. Two people from different sides, supposed to hate each other, united in this strange civil moment.

"I will bring you back to the tower." Malfoy said, slowly getting up. "You should get some sleep or you will be unbearable tomorrow evening!"

I blushed thinking about the last time he brought me to the Gryffindor tower. For a short second I thought about repeating that but then I scolded myself inwardly for even thinking about it.

"Hey, same goes for you! Wouldn't want to spent the evening with a tired, moody ferret!" I said teasingly and got up to follow him to the door.

Quietly we made our way up to the tower.

When we arrived we turned to each other, we were again only a few inches apart. I could feel the heat radiating from his body and his breath on my face, as I imagined he would feel the same.

My heart was pounding in my chest, I yearned for him to close these few inches and have his lips on mine again, even for just a short moment!

I knew he was thinking the same, but he didn't move.

Taking all my courage I stepped on my tiptoes and placed my lips right on his. What he can do, I can do as well!

He seemed a little taken aback by my sudden take of charge but he soon put his arms around me bringing me even closer to him.

I opened my mouth a little and the kiss got a lot more heated. I couldn't think anymore. All I wanted was for this to never end! His hand went to the back of my neck pulling my head closer.

I don't even know if any of us breathed anymore. My hands were on his hips, clawing into his uniform.

After what seemed like an eternity but also just like a second he slowly pulled away, staying close though.

"What are we doing?" He whispered, out of breath.

"I don't know." I whispered back, our eyes locked.

He pulled me in again for a short kiss, before he broke away for good. I immediately felt incredibly cold.

"You should get inside." I nodded.

"Goodnight, Granger." His voice was still only a soft whisper, he started to turn away.

"Goodnight, Malfoy." He smiled at me before vanishing into the dark.

A genuine smile from Draco Malfoy for me, Hermione Granger! After a little snogging. Tomorrow it probably will be raining pigs!

I quickly got into bed and fell into a deep slumber, dreaming about grey eyes and lips, that I had now gotten really familiar with.
