Lucy lay on her back, staring at the ceiling of her spacious room. But her eyes were unfocused, a name that was bouncing through her head distracting her from the outside world.

Natsu…

Natsu….

Natsu…

She barely knew the man, but he had saved her, and had even shown her his own secret hide out. He had shown her the kingdom that she lived in, the kingdom that she owned. It had been the first time, despite being the princess, that she had seen the large city. Or anywhere outside of her room and the beautiful gardens of the castle. It was amazing.

And his smile, the smile he flashed at her as they jumped from building to building, escaping her own guards.

"Do you trust me?"

She shook her head. Lucy couldn't think about him. After the guards had caught Natsu, Lucy had no hope in her mind that she would ever see the gorgeous thief again. But… Lucy rolled onto her side, and looked at her white tiger, Plue. A worrisome expression washed over the tigers face, and he almost looked like he might cry for her. Lucy smiled.

Plue had been her only friend, and Lucy had been his. Ever since the day she was born, she was forced to stay in the castle, and she basically had to get down on her hands and knees in order to keep the white tiger. She knew her father meant well, but she wanted to see the world. She could defend herself.

And, She thought as she swung her feet over her large bed, I want to meet more people like Natsu. Lucy instantly bit down on her lip. But she had gotten him in danger, and for all she knew, he was in jail. Or worse, dead.

Lucy looked down guiltily at her hand, which was resting near her legs. It was all her fault. And since her mind decided that wasn't enough stress to put on her, her memory flooded with memories of the parade earlier today. Princes showing off their riches in hope that it would be enough for her hand in marriage. Marriage! She understood this was her responsibility as the Sultan's daughter, but she wanted to marry someone she loved. An image of the pink haired thief popped up in her mind, and her frown deepened. Plue sauntered over and forced his head underneath her arm, trying to cheer her up. Lucy smiled weakly and began running her hand down his soft fur.

A soft tap suddenly came from the doors that lead to her balcony. Lucy jumped in surprise, and fear rose up in her chest. What if it was a murder? Or a kidnapper? Or a rapist? Lucy swallowed and held Plue close to her. She took slow, careful steps towards the door, as if she put her foot in one wrong spot a bomb would go off.

She touched the cold metal handle with the tips of her fingers, deciding whether or not she should open it. Against her better judgement, she opened the door open a crack, enough so that she could peer out into the cold night air. Her large balcony was empty, but it didn't feel so.

She opened the door wider, and took one step out. Plue whimpered and stayed close behind her. Suddenly, the top of a large white hat appeared beneath the railing. Lucy almost yelped, but stopped the sound before it escaped her throat.

The hat rose, to reveal a man. One of the princes from earlier. Lucy tried to hide her scowl, which she did very easily when she noticed the man wasn't holding onto the railing at all.

"You're going to fall!" She screeched, lurching forward as if she had to grab his hand before he fell off of the castle. But the man just grinned, a grin that looked so familiar.

"I'll be fine." She stared at him, eyeing him suspiciously. This was Prince Ali, she remembered now. The cocky, arrogant prince. What he was doing here at this time of night, she didn't know, but she was becoming irritated with him already.

"S-So," He muttered awkwardly as he scratched the back of his neck, "How would you like to go on a carpet ride with me?" Lucy's eyes narrowed at the man, and her arms crossed over her chest. A carpet ride? Did he think she was stupid? "Mhmm…" She hummed watching him with narrowed eyes, "A carpet ride, huh?" She muttered, a sound of venom etching the words.

'Prince Ali' winced. He thought that she'd be all over the idea in a second! "Er, uh, yeah, I mean, Yes!" the prince shot out, trying to keep his confidence. That's what princesses liked. Confidence. "It's right here," On cue, the carpet raised, revealing itself to Lucy, who couldn't help but noticing a sudden green tint to the man's face.

She sat there, watching the carpet. The golden pieces of yarn that bordered the carpet flowed in a way that looked like they were reaching towards her, offering her adventure. Prince Ali stood in the same way, his hand reaching out to her.

"Do you trust me?" He said with a grin that caused realization to hit her. The grin, the voice, the eyes. So he was okay. But Lucy wanted to play this little game too. As if she had no idea he was actually the thief, Natsu, Lucy just gave him a small smile. Lucy glanced back to Plue and shot him a genuinely happy smile.

"I'll be back soon, Plue," She whispered before taking Natsu's hand and jumping onto the carpet. Two adventures in one day. He was really something.

What Lucy didn't realize at the time was that Natsu had serious motion sickness. Not just you average, 'I feel sick'. No, he was curled up in a ball on the carpet, his paled face almost completely green. He couldn't even talk. Lucy was left to awkwardly pat his back in attempt to comfort him, but it did nothing. In the end, Natsu was left unconscious, hanging over the side of the carpet. Despite his green appearance though, Lucy couldn't help but see how cute he was.

Lucy smiled gently at the sleeping prince. This one really was special.
