It was early when Chris woke James. They had a small breakfast of berries that she had collected "Here. you'll need it" Chris gave it to James then started to walk off so she could look around to see if anyone was close to them but James spoke up
"Do you not want any?" He asked,looking at her. Now that it was light, James could see her her long curly red hair and face properly.
"No. I am fine, you need it more." Chris replied then she walked back to him and knelt down to his level, placing a hand on his shoulder "You need it more then I do" Then Chris walks to look only to return when she found no one walking around them. By the time she came back, James was done. Chris helped him stand up and placed one of his arms around her then placed some of his weight on her.
The two walked for hours, stopping when James needed to rest for a moment or if they came to a stream and they needed water. The whole way they talked, laughed and joked. James saw a sparkle in Christina's eyes that he never noticed before, after she told him her real story, James thought to himself how long it actually had been since she had that sparkle in her eyes.
It was sunset when they reached a farm of horses, cows and sheep. Chris knocked on the door and an old lady opened the door "Yes? How can I help you?" she asked.
"Hello, we're looking for Angel Rosette?" James asked.
"Yes. I am she" The lady replied "Why?" Chris took out her book which she had put in James' Jacket then handed it to the Angel. Her eyes widened at the sight of it and she looked around "In! Come In! Quickly" she whispered-shouted it. The two came in behind her "Down the hall, on the left hand side at the very end, you'll see a door. Open it and put your husband in there" Chris and James both blushed but didn't correct her "I'll be there soon with some equipment" The two walked (or in James' case, hopped a little) into the room.
James lay down on the dark green bed with Chris placing the blanket over him. James pulled her down and made her sit on bed so she was facing him. Chris smiled as James took her hand in his. "Chris, come closer" James Whispered so she leaned towards him, he kept on saying for her to lean closer until he leaned forward so that their lips connected. Christina's eyes widened in shock then she closed them and deepend the kiss. The kiss was passionate and full of love. They pulled a part and rested their foreheads on the others "That made me feel better" James Whispered. Chris grinned at him then jumped back when they heard the door being opened. Angel came in,asking Chris to leave so she could help James. Chris was reluctent to leave James but she did.
"Nice man you have there" Angel's voice said behind her which made Christina jump since she was making tea for her and Angel. Christina smiled and nodded then sighed, Angel's wrinkled smiled faded "Your going to have to leave now, aren't you?"
"I must, My Brother's and mine horse is still out there and he is the reason i'm out there" Christina said, "I'm going to have to leave tonight. Do me something would you? Look after him would you? I promise i'll come back for him"
Angel placed her hand on Christina's shoulder "Of course I will. You know, you remind me of a young me. Now I'll get a bag pack for you and a horse ready while you tell him" Christina nodded, gave her a hug then walked to the room. The door opened with a creek with made James look and smile when he saw Chris but it vanished when he saw her expression.
She walked to him, sat on his bed and took his hand in hers "James, I wish to tell you something..."
James cut her off "Wait, before you do. I want to say I love you" James placed a sweet kiss on her lips.
Christina started to cry a little "I love you too James and that's what makes this so much harder. I have to leave and find Joey."
James gripped her hands in his tighter "That's why when we return to England, I wish to marry you. I will miss you so much, now go find Joey and make sure he's safe." Christina gave him a kiss and stayed with him till he fell asleep.
Christina said her good-bye to Angel, climbed onto the mare that was ready for her and rode off into the James behind but she feeling of his lips still on hers.
