Kim POV

We made our way up to the roof through the air vents. "Okay now what," I asked.

He slid a short knife out of his pocket. "Try and slide the blade under one of the tiles."

"Why do I have to do it?" I whined

"Would you rather carry me on your shoulders?" He asked. It was true, when we got through under the opening there was a small leveled platform. The vent went straight up and curved at the end. Neither of us could reach it unless one of us stood on the others shoulders'.

"Fine." I carefully lowered myself enough to grab the knife. "I'll try not to make anything explode."

The clouds looked heavy with rain. I sighed and slipped the blade under the tile next to the wall. The tile began peeling away from the concrete roof. I held it carefully as Jack helped lower me to the ground.

"Got it," I said "now what do we do?" He gave me a small smile taking the tile into his possession.

"Come on, I'll show you." with that, he dropped to the ground and raced down the long corridors only slowing down to make sure I was following him. We finally stopped at a door.

"What are we doing." I asked panting.

"When I count to three, start running." He said staring at me intently.

"What? Why! I am not leaving you."

"Just trust me. I'll meet you at the bottom of the hill we came from."

"Okay." I replied softly.

"Hey," He grabbed my shoulders gently and tilted my head up to face his. "I'm going to be fine. I'm just worried about you."

I nodded my head slowly "Okay" I repeated.

"Get ready," He put a hand on the door knob. "One...two...three!"

I took off running away from Jack, towards one of the emergency exits. I didn't know what he was doing, all I knew was that I had to keep running. When I got outside, surprisingly running into no guards, I made my way to our designated meeting spot.

When I got there, I turned around to see the warehouse explode before me. I began to panic. The only thought running through my head was: is Jack okay?

I paced back and forth waiting for Jack to show up. The hidden canal kept the fire from spreading any further than a line of boulders to the West of the warehouse. Where is Jack! Five minutes had past...Ten minutes...Half an hour and still no Jack.

Finally I saw a figure limping towards me. I ran over to find Jack with a few scraps here and there but besides that, no serious injuries.

"Are you okay?" I asked, concerned.

"Yea." He mumbled.

Suddenly, Kai appeared in front of us.

"Nice trick." He said "stetting using the roof tiles to set this place on fire."

"How did you escape" Jack asked.

"Like I've mentioned before, I'm better than I was before."

"Why do you even want the diamond." I asked

"Jack would know." He glared. "You know what happened six years ago?"

I shook my head.

"Six years ago, on this very day, our grandfather gave Jack the diamond because he thought I didn't deserve it. He thought I would sell it and become rich and not see it as a token of appreciation from him. A thank you for letting him be our trainer. Since hen, all I've been doing is try to get the diamond into my possession so I can prove myself worthy. Though, I think you've helped my accomplish my goal. After all, I'm not the one who left it in the warehouse to burn." He finished holding up the sparkling jewel.

"Give that back." Jack said through gritted teeth.

"Why should I, it was never yours to start with." he answered

"Well it isn't yours either." A voice spoke up from behind him. Bobby, and a team of agents stood behind Rudy with weapons in their hands. "Hand the diamond over." He said.

Debating whether or not to listen to Rudy, he finally placed the jewel in Rudy's outstretched hand.

"This isn't over." He spat in Jack's face before taking off with agents hot on his trail.

"Thanks Rudy." Jack said.

"I've always got your back." Replied Rudy.

We headed back to the HQ and settled down in the medical department to make sure Jack's ankle wasn't broken.

"We never caught Kai." I complained.

"We'll find him." Jack said. "I promise. But as long as you're safe, I could care less what happens to him."

"You really mean that?" I asked hopeful.

"Of course." He whispered leaning closer towards me.

"Sprain!" Rudy yelled causing us to jump apart. "That's all it is, a sprain! Let's go home now." He said ushering us to the helicopter.

Back in Seaford, I sat down on my bed thinking over the past few days when I heard a soft knock at my door. "Come in," I called out.

The door opened to reveal Jack.

"Hey," I said

"Can I talk to you for a second?" he asked

"Sure" I replied

He took a deep breathe. "I was wondering if you'd like to go out some time." he mumbled.

I scrunched up my eyebrows. "Pardon?"

"I'm asking you out." He blurted.

To say I was shocked was an understatement. Did Jack, the Jack Brewer as me out?

"I'm asking you out." he repeated.

"Like a girlfriend/boyfriend kind of way?" I questioned.

He paused for a second, thinking, before he broke into a smile and said "Yes. Like a girlfriend/boyfriend kind of way."

I know, I know... I kind of disappeared. I'm still kind of on a hiatus but...I've been getting reviews saying I need to make an epilogue sooooooo

If I get 15 or more reviews requesting an epilogue, I'll write one but that will be the LAST chapter. This story has to end at some point so sorry to those who want me to continue it.

THERE WILL NOT BE A SEQUEL! No, you do not find out what happens to Kai. The most I'll do is probably post a one-shot.

Thanks for those who read, followed and/or faved this story.
