Chapter Nine: Dumped

The next day was just like any other. I woke up, got dressed, had breakfast, went to school, kissed Terrence, ate lunch, had more classes, and went back to Anubis. Sarah kept on pacing our room, ranting on about how we were all doomed. After dinner, I found a note underneath my door. It said:

Meet me in the living room in five minutes.

So, five minutes later, I walked down the stairs and entered the living room. And there he was. Still in his uniform, he was lying on the couch, with Ella on top of him, making out with her.

I opened my mouth to say something, but nothing came out, I tried to move, to pull them apart, but I was frozen. I couldn't believe Terrence was doing this. After about a minute, I finally let out weird mix of a cough and a scream.

Terrence looked up at me. "Oh, hi Ivy." he said, smiling, his lips still half on Ella's.

Ella got up and walked up to me. "I told you he's mine." She said. smiling her Barbie smile again. She walked back to Terrence and kissed him. "Why don't we continue this in your room?" She said, pulling him by his tie towards the Boy's dorms.

"Sorry, Babe." Terrence said, smiling and winking at me as they left.

I ran up to my room as fast as I could go, tears falling from my eyes.

Sarah was at the library looking up Sibuna stuff with Emmett, so I had the room to myself. I put my headphones on, put The Scientist on repeat, and just cried. I had memorized all the lyrics when I heard a knock on the door.

It was Patricia. "Hey," she said, "I saw what happened. May I come in?" I nodded and she came and sat on the bed next to me. "So, do you want to talk about it?" she asked.

"I don't really know." I said. "I feel like I'm dying."

"Oh, come on," She said, "It can't possibly be that bad, Terrence is just some stupid guy."

I smiled. "I know, I know, but, well, he was the first guy I ever kissed. I didn't think he would ever do something like that to me." I shrugged, "It's silly, I'm almost sixteen and I only just had my first kiss. With a slutty asshole, no less."

"That's totally normal." Patricia said. "I was in my Junior year of high school when I first got kissed. And very few people actually end up with their first Boyfriend or Girlfriend."

"Not to intrude, or anything," I asked her, "but who was the first guy you ever kissed?"

"Well," Patricia said, "You know what that's a bad example." She took my headphones away. "Why don't you listen to a different song, like Fighter or Stronger. None of this sappy love stuff. Then you get a good night's sleep and you'll feel so much better in the morning."

"Okay." I said as she gave my headphones back and walked towards the door, "And Patricia…" I said.

"Yeah?" she asked.

"Thank you." I said.

"All part of the job." she said.

The next morning, I did feel a lot better. Ella and Terrence were making goo-goo eyes at each other during breakfast, and instead of making me want to cry, it made me want to punch them. "Good morning, Ella" I said, fake smiling at her.

"Good morning Iris," She said,"My boyfriend and I were just talking about how dreadful you look in those tights."

"You know what?" I asked her, I turned to Robbie and said, "Ern, could you pass the OJ?" He happily obliged. I quickly dumped the pitcher's content's on Ella's platinum blonde head. As I walked away, Patricia was clapping.

Our chemistry teacher had the flu, so Eddie got the brilliant idea to make Mrs. MacLaugan our sub. Great.

"Good morning class." she said, "Today, we will be learning the difference between sugar crystals and salt crystals. At your tables, there are two beakers, one with a water and sugar mixture, the other with water and salt. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah." Yeah, I wasn't really paying attention.

For some insane reason, Ella decided to sit next to me. Her hair was still a bit orange, and she was furious. "This cannot be tolerated, Iris!"

"Ivy." I corrected, for the billionth time.

She rolled her eyes. "I am rich, pretty, my dad is huge in the modeling business, and my mom infamous in the fashion world. I should not have to but up with jealous little scum like you who's parents didn't want them and hot boys don't like. What type of world are we living in?"

Without a thought, I dumped both the sugar and salt solutions on her head. And no, my comebacks are not repetitive.

"Miss Willoughby!" Mrs. MacLaugan yelled. "Headmaster's office! Now!" She pointed to the door. I practically ran out of the class room, desperate to get away from Ella's words.

"So, why don't you tell me why you're here?" Eddie asked, quoting every principal ever.

I rolled my eyes. "It's because Ella was being evil, so I dumped two beakers of chemistry stuff over her head."

"Apparently this isn't your first time today." Eddie said "Care to tell me about that?"

"Oh, right." I said, "Well, She was being evil at breakfast too, so Idumped a pitcher of orange juice on her head.

Eddie smiled."What did Patricia think of it?"

"Um, she applauded." I said.

He laughed. "She used to do that all the time." He said, "I think she poured beverages on Ella's mom, Robbie's mom, and Nina and I."

"Does that mean you're not going to punish me?" I asked, confused.

"Well" He said, "I do think you should drink your drinks, not dump them, but I'm sure you had a reason. You said Ella was being evil. What did she say to you?"

I looked down, my insecurities washing over me. "She said I was scum and that my parent's didn't want me. It really hurt."

"I'm sure your parents wanted you." Eddie said, "Maybe they just couldn't support you. I know from experience that no parent truly wants to give up their child."

"I'm not Annie." I said, "Nina and Fabian told us about the whole "you're daughter's going to destroy the world" thing. I can't believe Patricia was so upset about it. I'm sure the girl has it worse. And I know that from experience."

"Patricia really wanted us to be a family." Eddie said, melancholic, "When Nina told her she had to give our daughter up, and that it probably wasn't a good idea to have other children, she was heartbroken. She didn't speak to Nina for years. Patricia wanted someone to take care of. That's one of the reasons I gave her this job. The other reason was I can't stand being away from her for more than an hour."

I shrugged, "Sure, but it's worse not having someone to care of you." I said, "Back at the orphanage, no one really cared about me. They just gave me food and clothes, and went on with their lives. When I was sad, I just cried or sucked it up. I thought, when I was falling for Terrence, that he would become someone who cared about me, and could comfort me. That's why it really sucks right now, knowing he didn't give a crap. And what Ella said…I don't even know."

"Well." Eddie said, "It looks like you have a lot of sadness and anger in you right now, and you're taking all that energy and using it to pour drinks on Ella." He smiled. "I think you should try focusing on something else. Sibuna could always use some intel on where that crown is hidden.

I smiled. "Yeah." I said, "So, about punishment…"

"Because I'm your principal, I do have to give you detention. You and the other detention-ees will be picking up trash along campus next friday. Okay?"

"Okay." I said, and left his office.

AN: Please review! I love getting your feedback!

Chrsty: I hope this chapter explained it more.

hbhs12: I know! My own OCs are frustrating me. It's like when we all knew Patricia was the sinner, but Sibuna didn't, so they shunned KT.

BlackCat47: Thank you so much! I try to update as often as possible.
