About a month past ever since the Homecoming scare that Desiree suffered in the hands of her ex-boyfriend, Asher Roberts. Desiree and Asher hadn't talk since she broke up with him a few nights later after the scare. The night scared her to death, she vowed that she would never fall in love with another Asher. Colby hadn't gotten over of how Desiree got hurt, with some guy that he thought was harmless. How could he have been so dumb? Colby would never forgive himself for granting Des the permission to go to Homecoming with that guy. Desiree didn't blame Colby at all, he wanted to be on her good graces and it backfired on him. She forgive him for that, but ever since the scare, she had been with Jon. Jon hadn't left her side, unless it was for school. Jon said that Desiree shouldn't be afraid to be alone, but Desiree really needed Jon by her side. Jon has checked up on Desiree, when she was in class, without her knowing. He was not stalking her again, but checking up on her. He had even informed Ms. Candice of what transpired at Grand Rapids. Ms. Candice said that her care team needed to be informed of this event because it seemed like she is traumatized of the event.

"Desiree!"

Ms. Candice shouted at the intern, who sprang back to life, after hearing her teacher yell, Desiree's papers flew to the floor, as she went to pick them up. She was a clumsy person, who would do stupid things. There was a lot on her mind as of late, the Asher thing and trying to get out of the so-called 'chopping block' that she had found herself in thanks to U.S. History. She had an eight-three percent in the class and she blamed the whole Asher thing - well, that and some of the time, she will fall asleep in Ms. Candice's lectures. Desiree collected her papers from the floor, and awkwardly sat back on her desk. She looked Ms. Candice in the eyes.

"Yes?" she finally responded, realizing that she was daydreaming again. Desiree looked at Ms. Candice was holding the book, The Great Gatsby in her hands. Oh yeah, Ms. Candice was lecturing over the fact that the male characters in Fitzgerald's stories never want the girl, only the money, wealth and most of all, the status of old money or something along the lines.

Desiree's response made the teacher sigh. "Is there a relationship in any of Fitzgerald's stories that we've read that have a real, long lasting and loving relationship?" Ms. Candice asked the student the question for what seemed like the billionth time.

Desiree blinked a couple of times; she forgot, which stories that she had to read. "What stories did I have to read?" she felt like a giant idiot for asking Ms. Candice that question. Usually, she was on top of homework assignments. But, with her internship and the Asher thing, she has been slacking off as of late and the semester ends in about a month. She could lose her internship by the end of December.

"Diamond as Big as the Ritz, Winter Dreams and The Great Gatsby. Desiree, you're usually on the money. I know about the Asher thing. Jon told me about it, but this is affecting your school work. You need to get over the Asher thing. Talk about it because you have midterm next week and the question could be anything that involves these three stories. How about you start break early, go walk around and talk to Jon, Colby and Joe, then let's get ready for U.S. History." Ms. Candice suggested. Desiree frowned and nodded.

"Alright. It might be what I need." she sighed, opening her binder to the divider for Pre-AP English and put away the notebook paper, that she was supposed to use to take notes on. She closed her binder and grabbed her purse from the floor, putting the strap on her left shoulder, her binder against her chest and slide out of her seat, exiting the classroom.

Ringside wasn't so far away. The classroom was just a room in the backstage area. There was a lot of construction going on for the RAW later tonight. She would normally spot The Shield, rehearsing their entrance. Their awesome entrance that captivated Desiree's eyes. She wanted to see Colby do his ninja roll to the ring. She would go crazy for that. Desiree continued walking down the ramp, hearing the sounds of electric tools going on and off. Perhaps, The Shield was going to come out anytime soon. She tucked a piece of her light brown hair behind her ear, her brown eyes wandering around.

"Oh, the birthday girl has graced us with her presence."

Desiree turned around, raising a brow? Birthday girl? She stared at Colby, confused. Oh yeah, today marked her seventeenth birthday. Just one more year until she was an adult. She had thought that she had done a wonderful job keeping the secret from everyone. Jon and Joe shortly approached her after, Desiree's confusion expanding quite a bit. Desiree doesn't enjoy celebrating her birthday, when she was little, her cousins would dump her face on the cake, making her cry, which was a reason why she didn't like her birthday.

"How did you know it was my birthday?" Desiree was suspicious; she had always kept her birthday on the down low. She even dressed in her worst outfit as possible. So, no one would be aware that it was her birthday. She wore her sweat pants and customized AJ Lee t-shirt that April Mendez had given her in Melbourne during the summer.

"Declan might or might have not spilled that to me." Jon scratched the back of his neck, avoiding the nervousness that he was feeling right now. Desiree humph to herself. Note to Des: give Declan a death threat and tell The Shield that one story, when he was in the ride, California Screamin' at Disney's California Adventure. That would be a way to get back at him.

"Damn it, Declan." she stomped her foot against the concrete ground.

"We got you a present." Joe noted, with a grin on your face. He couldn't contain his excitement, which got a few hard elbows from Jon and Colby.

"You weren't supposed to admit that!" Colby hushed him, his voice sounded angry. Desiree couldn't help, but laugh.

"Well, your present is number three on your list." Jon notified her, which got Desiree's jaw to drop in amazement. Seeing the look on Desiree's face was the look that Jon was expecting from her. Desiree began to jump up and down.

"I'm going to..." she squealed.

"You're going to be doing The Shield entrance with us, while holding the Divas Championship!" Jon completed her sentence, and with that response, Desiree squealed and jumped higher up and down. Desiree did a little dance, with consisted of the cabbage patch and a horrible moonwalk. There were no words to put how she felt right now.

"We got you a tactical ring gear - or at least a Desiree Shield outfit," Joe smiled. "So, that you have a feel that you are actually one of us. I think you're going to like the outfit. Leighla picked it out. And, you know all about her wonderful taste of clothing. We can do your entrance at lunch if you want too. We don't want you to be late for U.S. History and you need to get that grade up, if you want to keep interning."

Des groaned in laziness. "Do I have to go to U.S. History right now?" in her opinion, that was the most boring class of the day. She was never able to connect with history. Never has and never will.

"Only, if you want to keep your internship." Colby pointed out, with a chuckle.

SHIELD

The entrance music of The Shield blared throughout that empty arena. On one side of the stairs, Colby and Joe walked down the stairs. On the other stairs, Jon and Desiree walked down the stars. Desiree wore her tactical ring gear, which consisted of a basic black t-shirt, over that was a vest, baggy pants and she wore a black baseball cap backwards. On her shoulder was where the Divas Championship was placed; she couldn't believe that this moment was happening. She envisioned the WWE Universe booing at her; she felt like a different person, walking down those steps - possibly a badass version of herself. Des and The Shield stopped by the barricade. Colby did a ninja roll, which brought a smile to the intern's face. Joe went over the barricade with much caution. Jon went over it effortlessly. Jon offered a hand for Desiree, so that he could help her over, but she declined the help, and went over the barricade herself, not tripping over.

"Ladies and Gentleman, our Divas Champion, Desiree Harper, the Princess of Justice, getting ready for Divas action, coming up next on Monday Night RAW!" Michael Cole informed the invisible WWE Universe. Desiree raising the Divas Championship proudly.

Once the music stopped playing, Desiree put the Divas Championship down. A grin took over her face; one thing on her wish list that she believed would never get crossed out was accomplished. This was all some wacky parallel universe that she was in. Desiree pinched her left arm - yep, she was defiantly awake. The Shield, Michael Cole and other people gave a round of applause; she fitted in with the group well for someone that has never made a Shield-like entrance in her entire life. Desiree was flattered; she doesn't deserve all of this applause. She was just a girl with a big dream; she's living one of them, but accomplishing this one didn't seem real enough to her.

"Thank you guys!" Des grabbed all three members of The Shield for a group hug; she couldn't wrap her arm around them, but she did a good job not making them move at all. "This is the best present I could ask for." she smiled at them, a charming smile that could make anyone feel good in the inside.

"You did an amazing job. I'm quite impressed that you didn't want Jon to help you. Joe fell the first time that we went over the ramp. You're better than Joe, when it comes to coming over the ramp." Colby laughed, reminding himself of the first time that Joe tried to go over the ramp, he remembered that he tripped and fell over. Joe responded with a glare at Colby.

"Shut up, Colby." Joe retorted, holding on to his cold glare. The two-toned Superstar continued to giggle, still finding it funny that the intern did a better job than Joe did the first time coming over the ramp.

"Now children, no need to fight," Jon teased. "We're all aware that Joe sucked the first time coming over the barricade. We don't need to remind him that he sucked." a grin on his face formed.

"Happy birthday, Desiree," Michael Cole somehow appeared. He had a script in his possession, possibly for RAW tonight. Michael wanted to wish her a happy birthday. "You're almost a woman, embrace every moment that you have with these guys because they are not only incredible athletes, but incredible people." he walked away, leaving The Shield and Desiree by themselves again.

"I will, Michael. Thank you for providing commentary. You did a splendid job." Desiree yelled from the ring.

Jon, with a match, lit up the last vanilla scented candle, where it was placed in the center of the floor. The wind was picking up outside and he knew that it could blow out the candles anytime it wanted to. Jon had lit up about five other candles, which were scattered around the parking lot. The one particular area in the parking lot was dark, but extremely windy. It was sort of how he wanted it to be. Jon had his match earlier in the night and as soon as he got a shower, he came to the parking lot. This was another birthday present for Desiree - the ultimate birthday present. A present that might make things strange between them. But, he didn't like to think about it was an awkward attraction. It was basically something that all teenage girls would like to get - a kiss from their celebrity crush - Desiree was Dean Ambrose. Or at least, he hoped it still was. It was number six on her list - a kiss from Dean Ambrose. Jon had texted Des to meet him at the parking lot. When Desiree received the message, she thought that something could be wrong. During RAW, Des knew better than not talk to The Shield.

Desiree arrived to the parking lot in her Shield attire that she wore, when she was making her entrance at lunch today. Her eyes searched for Jon, but then, she began to smell the aroma of vanilla. She walked closer and closer. The closer she got, the stronger the smell got. Then, she saw a little light and there was Jon, sitting on a red and black plaid blanket. A candle was in the center of the blanket and then, she acknowledge that all the other candles were blown out thanks to the wind.

"I could smell the scent of vanilla a mile away. I love the scent," she smiled, taking a seat on the opposite side of Jon. The candle was the source of light that separated the wrestler and intern. "I wanted to thank you about my present. I don't know how many times I've said it today, but it meant the world that you were able to make that part of my dream come true."

"It was no problem. I knew that the Asher thing has freaked you out, but Colby, Joe and I are still here for you. Boyfriends like Asher will come and go, but friends are forever." Jon nodded, trying to cut off the awkward tension that Des could be feeling right now. He didn't know, how he was going to bring the kiss up to her. Will she want to do it? Or could this scare her off?

"Isn't the quote 'friends come and go, but family is forever'?" Desiree chuckled, which made Jon chuckle.

"I think it might be, but my family has never been there for me. I had to fend for myself. You're lucky that you have friends in your life."

"I do. This whole internship has been a wonderful experience for me. I'm glad that I got assigned to you guys. Plus, you guys made me like my birthday again. My face did not get dumped on the cake, which I'm happy about." not getting cake on her face was like the icing on the cake for her, not the icing on her face.

"I got one last thing that I would like to give you. This present is only from me." Jon heard his own heart beating against his chest. The only time that he would feel his heart beating was when he was wrestling.

"Oh, what is it?" Desiree's face glowed. Jon couldn't help, but smile.

"Number six on your list."

Desiree covered her mouth; number six on her list was a kiss from Dean Ambrose. Jon wanted to kiss her? In Michigan, the legal age consent was sixteen years old. But, Jon had some influence on her. Was this against the rules in some way? Did she want Jon to kiss her? There are many girls that would kill to be in the position that she was in right now. She would be a fool to pass this up.

"You want to kiss me?" Desiree was speechless; she never pictured herself asking Jon that question. Jon put a hand on her cheek, stroking it softly. His hands were cold, which caused Des to shiver.

"Only, if you want to. I don't want to pressure you."

"This kiss is just a birthday present. It doesn't mean anything." Desiree made a claim; taking a huge deep breath.

"Of course," Jon went to lean over Desiree, aiming for her lips to give her a soft kiss. "Just tell me when to stop." he told her. Desiree was ready for the kiss; this wasn't what she was expecting to get, but it was coming to her.

And that's when the last candle went out.

Did they or did they not? I'll leave that to you to try to figure out. Hopefully, this story isn't too rushing, but I wanted to change the direction a little.
