The heart of the Dark Dimension, Part 1
"Keep running!" "Where are we gonna run to?!" We rejoin our lost friends, Jacob and Christian, trapped in a strange world. Everything is unfamiliar to them, and they have no idea where to go, or how to escape. Their Pokemon, Espeon and Politoed, are in critical condition, and they are running for their lives. They are running from themselves. More correctly, dark, evil versions of themselves. "Umbreon, Dark Pulse." "Poliwrath, Focus Blast!" The evil clones, or as we'll call them, 'Dark' clones, are the exact opposite of them. Dark Jacob was an evil, smart, cunning person, while Dark Christian never thought things through, all ways rushing into a plan, and even a Dark-Type gym leader, with Poliwrath as his wildcard. The Dark clones were in hot pursuit, not letting our heros out of their sight. But, our heros knew the one weakness to their rivals. "Hey, you call that an Umbreon? I've seen better Special Attack on a Happiny!" Jacob cried out. "Why you little punk! I've trained this Umbreon so perfectly, it could take down a Blissey in one hit!" "Oh, please! At least it's better than that Poliwrath! I've seen better speed from a Crustle!" Christian yelled. "You jerk, my Poliwrath is as fast as a… Mega Sableye!" "Mega Sableye has a base speed of 20, genius!" "I think you mean a Mega Lopunny, my dear boy." Dark Jacob said. "Yeah, it can outspeed anything!" "Can't outspeed me!" Jacob yelled. "Oh yeah it can! Poliwrath, attack!" Poliwrath ran at Jacob, who kicked it as far as he could. "Poliwrath, no!" Dark Christian ran off to save his Pokemon, while Dark Jacob was still in chase. "You need more brains than that to out-smart me!" "Like how your Umbreon needs more brains to learn Foul Play?" "Shut up you fools! You have no idea what kind of power you are playing with! We have the same powers, and yours are weakened dramatically in this realm!" "As dramatic as your ego?" "You fools! Umbreon, use Toxic and give these fools the most slow death you can!" Purple bubbles flew at the two boys, but Jacob was no stupid trainer. His Espeon had Magic Bounce as its ability. If you don't know already, Magic Bounce will bounce back entry hazards, stat lowering moves, and status moves, like Toxic, making the damage go to the opponent. Jacob held out his Espeon, and the Toxic bubbles swarmed around Espeon, and got absorbed into her skin. But, it was Umbreon who staggered and got hurt! "Hidden Abilities win again! Unless it's Umbreon, with Inner Focus!" "Inner Focus is a great ability!" "Yeah, maybe for Fake Out, but that's it! Umbreon is useless!" This tore it for Dark Jacob, who was about to unleash his power. "Time to go!" Jacob said, and he and Christian ran off. "You got any revives on you?" Christian asked when they were safe. "Yeah, I got like, fifty!" "WHY?" "I like being prepared for anything," Jacob explained as he fed the Pokemon the yellow crystals. "I wonder if these work on humans." "I don't think so. Now, how are we gonna get out of here? I already have a plan for that! We need to go into another dimension, using it as a bridge to our dimension, hoping both gems are still well, interconnected, and not broken." "Great. What are the chances of that?" "One in one point 1,562!" "Okay, so high." "Yup. We can't leave now, we should get some rest. If we want to open to portal ourselves, we're gonna need all the power we can get!" "Right. G'night," Christian said, setting up a pillow and blanket. "Night." But, Jacob did not sleep, nor did Christian. They put themselves in a sort of resting mode, but still conscious. They did this to "recharge" their power, due to not being able to sleep.
After 8 hours of charging, they went off to Reflection Cave. "Now, which gem, which gem…" "Just choose one!" "No, if we choose one to far away from the portal… that one!" Jacob pointed to a gem portal next to the few shards of purple crystals. "Fine, how do we open it?" "Just want it to open, and it will. Normally it takes two people on opposite sides of the portal, but if we wish for it together, I think it might open." "Fine." Both our mysterious protagonists hoped and hoped to get out, and for the gem to open, but nothing. "I.. guess it didn't work. We've been in here for so long… I thought the sunset thing wouldn't work on us… we can't get out." "But…" "Espe?" "Politoed?" "Don't worry you two. I think if we can drain and purify our clones dark power, I think we can-" "You think? Every plan we have you think it will work, but it doesn't!" Christian yelled. "I don't see you coming up with anything! All you've done is mock my plans! Maybe if I had some support, we wouldn't be in this situation!" Jacob snapped. "Well, if you feel that way, why are we even traveling together! You're the one who got us in this whole thing! I said we shouldn't mess with that book, leave it in your attic, we shouldn't touch it, and look where we are now! We can't get home, we can't ever see our families again, and what if they think we're dead? We could get buried, or cremated! Did you ever think of that? We've been in this whole thing for months, and I still don't get how this is different dimension!" "If you listened, you would know! All of the worlds that contain Pokemon are one dimension! I refer to them as separate to avoid confusion, as each one is just a realm on a different frequency of-" "You're not making any sense!" "If you paid attention, it would! You never pay attention, you never take anything serious unless we're about to die, and you are the worst person to travel with!" "Then why are we traveling?" "You know, I have no real idea. And because of that, we should stop. Goodbye, Christian. See you never. Oh, and I'll need what's mine back." "What are you talking about?" "Sunny. Sunny is what I am talking about." "But…" "I gave her to you, now I am taking her back." "Fine. Goodbye, Sunny. I'll miss you." Christian gave Jacob a Pokeball, containing a shiny Azumarril that Jacob gave Christian. "Thank you, and goodbye." Jacob walked out of the cave while Christian was fighting back tears. He was alone, he lost Sunny, Jacob was the only one who knew what was going on in this world. He didn't want to admit it, but Christian needed Jacob.
