All is Fair in Love and War

Kandor

Kara walked through the corridors of the Crystal Palace. People bowed to her as she walked past. She nodded once to them with a small smile. She reached her destination and knocked on Peter Ross's door. "Come." Peter said from within.

Kara entered his chamber to see Peter polishing a beautifully crafted sword but it was far too extravagant for Peter's taste. "A peculiar sword." Peter recognized her voice. He put the sword down onto the table and stood at once. "I know it is not yours." Kara said. She knew Peter had a steel longsword that Peter had crafted himself.

"This was my father's ceremonial sword. He loved to flaunt his wealth. That was his flaw. His sword and ring were all my mother was able to save when he fled." Peter sighed. "What do I owe the pleasure?" Peter asked.

"I have just received a letter from Kal-El and it said to tell you that 'it is time.' He also said that you would understand the message." Kara said.

Peter nodded. "I do. Highness, I must leave Kandor if I am to fulfill His Majesty's wish." Peter said.

"I am sure that you two shall me what is going on in time so I will not ask questions. You are free to leave Kandor when you are able. There is a boat waiting to take you as far as Granville. I hope Rao grants you a safe journey." Kara said.

"Thank you, Your Highness." Peter bowed. Kara bowed her head to him and then left his chambers. "Prepare my horse. I am to leave at once." Peter said and his manservant rushed out.

Later, Peter exited the Crystal Palace with his manservant. He wore a brown leather doublet, brown trousers and boots, a brown hooded traveling cloak that hid his sword and dagger from view. His manservant was dressed in a similar fashion. The horses were waiting for them in the courtyard. They mounted their horses.

Peter looked up to Lana's bedchamber window. Lana was somberly watching him from her window. Peter placed two fingers on his lips and raised them up to her. She placed her hand on the crystal window. Peter then dug his knees into his horse and they rode off.

A Couple Weeks Later

Lois was blindfolded and shackled. The knights had taken her from her bedchamber. She did not know where they were taking her. They had been walking for some time. Then she heard a door open and they entered a room. Something smelled delicious. They sat her down in a chair. Lois removed her blindfold slowly because of the shackles.

She was sitting at the head of a table opposite Kal-El. And at his right, sat Christopher. Kal-El wore a crimson tunic, with black trousers and boots, and a leather belt cinched at his waist. Christopher wore a red doublet, black trousers and boots.

Christopher poked a piece of venison with his fork and ate it. The knights stood behind Lois and Kal-El nodded to them. One of the knights hesitated but he cautiously unlocked and removed Lois's shackles.

Lois rubbed his wrists and sighed. Kal-El motioned for them to leave. The knights bowed and left the chamber to wait outside. Servants brought out a plate of food for Lois and a goblet of wine. There was an empty plate to Lois's left.

Lois noticed this and must have made a face because Kal-El said, "My other guest is resting after a long trip. They should be here shortly."

"Hello." Christopher said to Lois. She was obviously not expecting not to be spoken to. Lois smiled and nodded to him. "Papa, who is she?" Christopher whispered to Kal-El. Lois smiled again because she had heard him.

"Oh, yes. Where are my manners?" Kal-El stood and Christopher stood as well. "Viscount Christopher Kent, I present to you Countess Lois Lane of Genesis. Greet the countess." Kal-El said.

Christopher performed a quick bow. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Countess, and I welcome to the Fortress of Solitude, the favorite retreat of our host, King Kal-El." Christopher said. Kal-El ruffled Christopher's hair. The boy had obviously been practicing that. Lois grinned and bowed her head to the little boy.

They sat back down and began eating again as if it were any other normal night for them. "Papa, may I learn to fight now?" Christopher asked. Young Christopher obviously was unaware of the Lois's predicament. He so easily believed that she was a guest of Kal-El and not his highly valued prisoner of war. To be that young and innocent once more, Lois thought.

"We spoke of this already, Chris. You are going to have to wait like any other boy of your age. We shall speak of this again once you reach the age of seven. I began training at that age for knighthood." Kal-El said and took another bite of meat. Christopher nodded and Kal-El ruffled his hair again.

Lois was admiring the fine craftsmanship of her fork and knife. In Genesis, all eating utensils as fine as this had been confiscated and melted down to help fund the war some years ago. Lois sipped from her crystal goblet and began to admire it as well.

"Countess, do you think I should learn to fight at seven?" Christopher asked. Once again, Lois was unprepared to be address. She swallowed a piece of fruit she had been eating and lightly coughed as she choked on it.

Kal-El and Christopher were waiting for her response. "Seven is a fine age to learn a great many things." Lois said. Christopher smiled at her and she smiled back.

"If you say so. I like her." Christopher whispered the latter to Kal-El, once again thinking that Lois could not hear him. Kal-El and Lois both smiled.

Lois felt so out of place here. What did Kal-El hope to achieve from this dinner? They had already kissed. What more could he want from her beside information? Was he using his war or seduction as a new interrogation method? Lois knew she could not give in, no matter how much she desired him.

There was a knock at the door. "Come." Kal-El said and took another bite of food.

A knight entered the chamber. "Captain Ak-Var is here with your guest, Sire." The knight said.

"Christopher, I have to play king now. Go and finish your supper with Fara Tal." Christopher pouted. "Enough of that. I shall see you in the morrow." Kal-El said and kissed Christopher's head. Christopher got up and a servant took his plate.

Christopher bowed to Lois. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Countess." Christopher said.

"It was a pleasure to meet you as well." Lois smiled. Christopher waved farewell and left the chamber with Fara Tal. "Now that I have met your son, what other surprises do you have for me in this fantasy courtship you believe you have with me?" Lois said. Kal-El smiled.

"Just one more. Leave us." Jon-Tel and the servants bowed and then left the chamber. Kal-El nodded to the knight and wiped his mouth with a cloth. Captain Ak-Var entered the chamber with a hooded figure dressed in all black. Kal-El motioned for Ak-Var and the knight to leave. They bowed and left reluctantly.

Kal-El stood. "I believe introductions are necessary. Captain Lois Lane, I present to you the commander of the Resistance." Kal-El said.

Lois perked up, wanting to see the face of the man who had been a thorn in her father's side for two years. The commander was shorter than she expected. She noticed the sword and dagger on the stranger's belt and considered going for one of them. She eyed the knife still on her plate and then cut her eyes to Kal-El, who shook his head at her with a serious look on his face. He knew what she was thinking.

The stranger lowered the hood and Lois dropped her jaw in shock. She grabbed hold of the ends of the table to steady herself as she slowly stood to face a ghost.

Chloe Sullivan somberly looked at her cousin. "Hello Lois. It has been far too long." Chloe said. Lois embraced her cousin, who had been like another sister to her and who she had believed dead for three long years. Lois embraced her tighter as if to see if Chloe was truly real.

Tears streamed down both women's faces as they tearfully and joyfully embraced again. Kal-El smiled and crossed his arms in the background. Lois's cupped Chloe's face in her hands. Chloe looked just as she remembered her except that she had cut her hair. Lois and Chloe just looked at each other and laughed.

Then, Lois just suddenly stopped laughing and turned to look at Kal-El. "You. You knew this entire time that my cousin lives and is the commander of the Resistance." Lois said sternly.

"I was just as surprised as you are now. Would you ladies prefer to speak in private?" Kal-El asked.

"You may stay, Clark." Chloe said and Lois looked at her.

"Why did you call him by that name?" Lois whispered to Chloe.

Chloe smiled. "I have known Clark since we were children. Of course, I was amazed to discover that he was the heir to the Kryptonian throne when we came of age." Chloe said and Kal-El rolled his eyes.

"You wanted me to speak the truth for once and I did, Chloe." Kal-El said.

"I just cannot believe you are the commander of the Resistance. King Lionel wished for me to hunt you down and kill you once I returned from Smallville. Why?" Lois asked.

Chloe looked down and sighed. "It was not the Kryptonians who murdered my father and mother. I believe it was Lionel Luthor. I barely escaped that night. And I spent a year forming the Resistance after that night." Chloe said.

"But we found a warning left on the charred ruins of your home in Kryptonian and Kryptonian blades were found as well." Lois said.

"I watched those men plant those weapons and place that warning. They thought they had killed me as well but in truth, it was my maid. She was in my bed so I could sneak away to meet a courter. I had returned just moments…but I saw everything." Chloe said.

Lois went pale and slowly sat back down. She placed a hand over her mouth as if to prevent herself from screaming. Kal-El looked worried and Chloe noticed his concern. Lois took a deep breath and then slammed her fist down onto the table.

"Were any of the words spoken from Luthor's mouth the truth or were they all lies!" Lois snapped.

"Lionel Luthor only lies when the truth does not benefit him. And yet, most of the words that leave his mouth are the truth." Kal-El said. There was an awkward silence for a few moments.

Lois sighed. "I am the daughter of King Lionel's more prized and valued general and I am a knight in King Lionel's favor. Sitting in a room with the King of Krypton and the commander of the Resistance… It is obvious what you want of me." Lois said.

"We need another spy in Luthor's court. Mine was discovered and we have been in the dark for some time. I need your help, Lois." Chloe said.

"The decision is yours and yours alone. If you wish, I can arrange for you to live anywhere in Krypton or you may remain here as my prisoner if you like." Lois shot him a dirty look and Kal-El's smirk disappeared. "I wonder if this is what marriage shall be like." Kal-El whispered to himself.

Chloe watched the two of them. Chloe placed her hand on her cousin's shoulder. Lois placed her hand over Chloe's and looked into her pleading eyes. Lois sighed. "For three years, I have loyally served the House of Luthor. I have obeyed every command without question. And everything I have fought for is a lie." Lois stood. "You do not even have to ask, cousin. You know that no one crosses a Lane." Lois said.

Chloe smiled. "And the problem now is how do we return you to Genesis without the slightest hint of suspicion? It is said to be impossible to escape a Kryptonian prison." Chloe said and looked to Kal-El.

"I wish that was true, then I would not need to worry about the House of Zod ever returning from exile… I am sure that the captain and I can devise a well-believed plan for her escape." Kal-El said.

"I believe you two will work together beautifully. Now, I must return to my men. We are planning a special gift for the king's birthday celebration." Chloe said.

"Captain Ak-Var shall take you back to Krypton in the morrow and I am sure Peter will escort you back to your men safely." Kal-El and Chloe embraced. "I hope we shall meet again soon." Kal-El said.

"We shall and I am sorry that I shall miss your wedding. I knew the Lady Lana well. I hope she shall make you happy." They broke apart and smiled at each other. Chloe then embraced Lois. "We shall send a message to you when you return to court." Chloe said. Lois nodded and they embraced once more.

Chloe raised her hood, hiding her face. "Ak-Var!" Ak-Var entered the chamber and Kal-El motioned for him to come closer. "Escort my guest back to her chamber for the night and see that she is escorted through the portal unseen before daybreak." Kal-El said softly.

"Yes, Sire." Ak-Var said. He then left the chamber with Chloe.

Lois's smile disappeared and her tears dried up so fast. She turned to face Kal-El. "So Clark, you owe me an explanation for all this and I want it now!" Lois said. She slammed her fist down onto the table, making some dishes clank together.

Lois's guards heard the noise and rushed in with their staffs at the ready. Kal-El raised his hand to them. They glanced at Lois and lowered their staffs. He motioned for them to leave. The knights bowed their heads and left the chamber.

"It is getting late. Perhaps we can speak somewhere more private, captain." Kal-El said and motioned to the door behind him.

Lois walked passed him and out the door into another hallway. She was still angry and immediately realized that she did not even know where she was going. She sighed. "Lead the way, Your Majesty." Lois said.

"You may call me Clark whilst we are here." Kal-El said and gave her a devilishly handsome smile. He walked passed her and she followed him after rolling her eyes.

"And you may call me Countess or Captain, whichever you prefer." Lois said and Kal-El chuckled.

"I reunite you with your long lost cousin and yet you still do not trust me. You are a hard woman to please, countess." Kal-El said. He walked with his hands behind his back. Only a few Red Shard knights here knew what Lois looked like so those standing guard did not give her a second glance as they walked together.

Kal-El soon opened a door for her and she entered his chambers. He went in after her and closed the door behind him. "Welcome to my chambers. We shall not be disturbed in here. Speak your mind." Kal-El said.

"How do I know that you did not arrange all of this just so I would become your spy? My cousin may have been your prisoners these past three years without my knowledge and you could have broken her in that time. My mind is telling me that there is some sort of trick at work here." Lois said.

"And yet your heart is telling you that this is all real and at last, you have the chance to avenge your family." Kal-El approached her with his arms crossed. They stared deeply into each other's eyes. "For once, do not think. Just let your instincts guide you." Kal-El said softly.

"My instincts are why I still draw breath. And I think what I want when I want. Just because I am now a spy for the Resistance does not mean I shall obey your commands." Lois said and took a step closer to him. That invisible force was pulling them closer once more.

"I would never presume to give you commands when I know you shall only disobey them." Kal-El said.

"Then we have an understanding." Lois said. They were so close. Their heart rates increased in anticipation.

"Yes, I believe we do." Kal-El said softly.

"And what are your instincts telling you right now?" Lois asked. Kal-El gently pressed his lips to hers. It was a short but sweet kiss. The tips of their noses touched as they contemplated what to do next.

Then the passion and desire they had denied and ignored for so long consumed them. They wrapped their arms around one another as they kissed passionately. He pinned her against the wall as they ran their fingers through the other's hair. They broke apart for lack of air, panting. They continued to stare into each other's eyes.

"We cannot do this." Lois said out of breath.

"No, we cannot." Kal-El said out of breath as well.

Lois then crushed her lips onto his and they were passionately kissing again with their arms wrapped around each other. Neither of them resisted the fire between them. Lois undid the belt cinched at his waist and he quickly removed his tunic. He led her into his adjoining bedchamber with their lips never parting. He kicked the door closed behind them.

Lois pinned him against the door and ripped opened his white laced shirt down the middle. Clark loosened the laces of her blue dress. She removed his ripped shirt and threw it down onto the floor. Clark slid her dress off her shoulders and kissed her neck.

Lois let her arms slide out of the dress and she shivered from the coolness of the chamber. Kryptonians were people of winter so the cold did not bother them much. Clark pulled her underdress down her shoulder and kissed down her left shoulder. His lips warmed her bare skin.

Clark then spun her so her back to him. Lois could feel his warm breath on the back of her neck. She reached back to wrap her left arms around is waist, feeling the bare skin of his back. Lois gently scratched his lower back with her fingertips and he moaned. Clark kissed her along her neckline.

Lois grabbed his wrists and she turned around to face him. She released his wrists and their foreheads touched as she slowly moved her hands up his torso. Her fingers traced the scar on his upper chest. Their eyes locked on one another's.

Then he could no longer control himself. Clark ripped swiftly opened the top of her underdress to reveal her breasts and Lois gasped. They kissed and broke apart for lack of air. He pulled down both her dress and underdress. He began kissing her bare skin. He moved down her neck, shoulders, and then her torso. Lois moaned when he kissed both her breasts and her stomach.

Lois grabbed Clark by his throat and made him stand. She was stronger than she looked. Her fingers massaged his throat. Being around each other was intoxicating and there was nothing on this world to compare it to. Her fiery eyes told him to take her now. Clark kissed her and then scooped her up in his arms. Lois kicked off her left slipper.

Clark walked to the bed with their lips never parting. Lois used her free hand to quickly throw back the sheets and blankets. Their lips parted as he laid her down onto the soft bed. Clark was on top of her, kissing her shoulder as his fingers ran up her left leg, thigh, hip, abdomen and breasts.

Lois hitched her leg around his waist and rolled him onto his back so she was now on top. She grabbed both his wrists firmly and pinned his arms over his head. Lois smiled at him seductively and he returned the smile. She slowly kissed down his chin, his neck and shoulders, his pecs, his scar and his six-pack muscles.

Lois used one hand to pin both his wrists down and the other began undoing the laces to his trousers. Clark shuddered and moaned as her lips moved lower. When her lips reached just above his waistline, he could not take it any longer. Clark sat up and grabbed hold of her and rolled them so he was on top again. Lois chuckled, obviously aroused.

Lois put her left knee into his chest and playfully pushed him off of her. Clark was still on the bed. He was on his knees looking down at her. Clark had never before desired a woman as much as this. Everything she said and did made him want her more.

Lois ran her left foot up his torso and she placed her heel on his shoulder. Clark grabbed hold of her by the ankle and Lois giggled. He kissed her ankle and down her leg. Lois moaned as he slowly moved up her thigh. She threw her head back in ecstasy. Lois wanted him and she wanted him now. Then he stopped what he was doing and got off the bed.

Lois rose to see if there was a problem. Clark leaned over and gently kissed her lips. He gently grabbed her right ankle and removed her other slipper. Lois fell back. He kissed her ankle and she giggled. Clark quickly removed his boots. Lois sat up and finished undoing the laces of his trousers. Clark raised her chin and kissed her again.

As they kissed, he took off his trousers. They parted their lips and looked at each other. Then, Lois cut her eyes down to see his manhood. She raised her left eyebrow and smirked, impressed. Clark tried to climb on top of her but she playfully pushed him back with her right foot. He quickly grabbed her ankle and smiled devilishly.

Lois motioned with her index finger for him to come and he smiled. He kissed her right ankle and moved up her leg to her thigh, her abdomen, her breasts, neck, chin and then her lips. She moaned with each kiss. They ran their hands through each other's hair as they kissed tenderly, ready to let the full extent of their passions take control.

They stared at each other as if waiting for the other to say something but somehow words were not necessary for them. They eyes said all they needed to say to each other. And Lois's eyes gave him permission to make love to her. Lois gasped as he entered her and they became one. Lois moaned in his ear as he kissed her neck and shoulders.

Her nails gently dug into the skin of his back as they passionately made love. Candlelight reflected off their faces and made their sweat glisten. Lois threw her head back in ecstasy. She hitched her leg around him as his hand moved up her thigh to her hip. Clark moaned as Lois's fingers dug in his right hip.

The candlelight and torches were soon dying and the chamber grew darker. Lois saw the wav melting off a candle on a table. When they had entered his bedchamber, the candles stood tall but now they were all short stumps with dying flames.

Lois had never met a man who could keep up with her stamina and who as an extraordinary lover as well. Everything about Clark was too good to be true. But she forgot all these thoughts.

Lois closed her eyes in pleasure and moaned. Their lips met again and her moans were muffled by his lips. Lois ran her nails down his back and listened to him moan in her ear. "Clark," Lois moaned. Their eyes locked. He caressed her face and kissed her.

Soon the candles were out and the torches some time later. The only light was the dim moonlight through the windows and the small fire in the fireplace. Lois's leg was still hitched around his waist and she rolled them. She was now on top and they continued to make love. "Lois!" Clark moaned. Clark grabbed hold of her hips and threw his head back in ecstasy.

Their movements were faster now. They were panting and their moaning was becoming louder. His fingers traced her lips and moved down her chin, throat, breasts and abdomen. Lois moaned at his smooth touch. They took each other's hands. They felt this unexplained heat and pull between them as their fingers intertwined.

They looked passed the looks of pleasure on their faces and looked deep into each other's eyes as if they were soul gazing. Clark sat up and cupped her face in his hands. He kissed her and they wrapped their arms around each other as the kiss deepened. Clark kissed the sweaty skin of her neck and shoulders. Clark rolled them so he was back on top.

Their eyes locked again. They had never felt a connection like this before and they did not want it to end. The fire finally died out. The moonlight was brighter now but they paid it no mind.

They moaned louder. They kissed and ran their hands through each other's hair. Their lips parted for lack of air but their foreheads touched. Their movements were faster now. Lois grabbed onto the sheets with one hand. Their fingers intertwined. "Clark!" Lois cried.

And with one final thrust and loud moan, it was over. The breathing gradually calmed down as their foreheads remaining touching. He lifted his head up and their eyes met. They just kept staring deep into each other's eyes. Lois caressed his face.

Clark rolled off top of her. He was on the right side and she was on the left side of the bed. The only sound was each other's heavy breathing and their hearts pounding in their ears. Lois rested her head on his right arm with the fingers of their right hands still intertwined. Only a damp white sheet covered them from the waists down. They were still sweating.

Soon, their breathing and heart rates returned to normal. The heat their bodies had created was gone and Lois shivered. She was not accustomed to the cold as he was. Clark threw back the sheet and got out of bed. Lois assumed he was about to call for his guards and throw her out of his bedchamber. However, Clark retrieved the blankets from the floor and put them back on the bed. He covered up her naked body and she stopped shivering.

He put on a pair of breeches and climbed back into bed. Lois looked at him dreamily as she warmed. Clark saw the way she was looking at him and he smiled. Clark held out his right arm to her and they cuddled. Her cool body and his warm body touched and the warm heat between them built up again. They looked at each other and their lips met again.
