A/N: alright guys yet again I must ask that you forgive me for my acts of not updating regularly as I should be. Hopefully it will be easier as the holidays draw closer!

Clary:

I turned around quickly at the sound of that voice and pulled my sword out. I felt Jace tense behind me and heard him pull his swords from behind his back. Jonathon walked out of the forest lazily swinging one of his swords in his hand and walking around us in a circle.

"Oh, come on little sister, no hug for your brother that you haven't seen in two years? I would have thought that you would have said hello to me at least." He said in a care-free voice.

"Why would I say hello to the person I least want to see in the world and the person that has some sort of vendetta to ruin my life?" I spat at him.

"Well we are family and I figured that since dearest old Dad is dead that you would want to reconcile with your only living relative left."

"My mother is still alive and well and she is married to Luke with a daughter of their own."

"Ah, yes I heard that the bitch had a daughter with the half-breed. Now how does that make you feel, knowing that you have been replaced by your own mother by someone that would never leave them spur of the moment because of something someone did that they were warned never to get close to? How does it feel to know that while you were missing, neither of them lifted a finger to look for you and left it to the people that claim they care about you?" he said walking closer to us.

"Shut up, Jonathon! You know nothing of my family and they would never abandon me. My mother cares about me and knows that I can take care of myself while she considers you already dead. They are my family and always will be, the only thing we have in common is blood and facial features. Wait forget the first part because I highly doubt that any part of you is inside of me and if there is, I hope that it is so small that I won't be able to find it."

"Oh, sister, how you wound me; Well at least I know how Jace feels about seeing me. A bit sour knowing that even you couldn't kill me Jace. The greatest shadowhunter of our generation couldn't even properly kill someone he claims to be a demon. That is just so sad, well at least you get to see the girl you love one more time."

"One more time before what?" Jace said for the first time.

"Why, one more time before I take her away from all of you and make her mine. You can't honestly think that I am going to allow someone as rare as her to be left in mediocore hands and let her gift rot away, while I would help her gift flourish and spread to do anything she wishes." Jonathon said holding his hand out towards me."

"And who is to say I want that in life? Who is to say that I want to belong to you and to go and do anything you want me to do? I am going to do whatever the hell I want to do and right now, what I want to do is take my seraph blade and slit it across your throat and other parts of your body until I'm sure that you will never come back ever again."

"And that's what makes it visible that you belong with me, you love fighting; it's in the Morgenstern blood. That is what you are, a Morgenstern. And that is who you belong with, another Morgenstern, where you can be yourself. You don't belong with these commoners that would not do anything for you but keep you back."

"Okay, maybe you are right, maybe they will hold me back from my true potential," I said spreading my fingers.

"What?! Clary, we would never-" Jace started to say, but I reached my hand back and covered his mouth.

"But, they are my family and they will help me a whole lot better than you ever would and they will help me reach my potential that I want to reach and what no one else wants to reach for me. The only way I would ever go with you anywhere was if I was knocked out and about twelve people were knocked unconscious."

"That can be arranged." Jonathon said with a snarl and he launched at me.

A/N: I am so sorry about the short chapter but this is all I had thought of for now but hopefully the next chapter will be longer than this and full of more action so tomorrow's chapter will be better and yes I will update tomorrow
