Chapter 10 - Adrift

There were arms around him, perhaps?

Where was Dranzer?

Oh.

Voices above his head, echoing. He couldn't understand them.

.

And it was so dark. Getting darker.

.

Dranzer was gone. He could feel the empty, burnt-out space.

Oh.

.

Something – someone – was carrying him, someone with a soft wool coat and strong arms.

He wanted to stay here. Yes... it was time to rest his wings and sleep... time to let the fire fade from his feathers and let his scarf cover him in a blanket of freshly-fallen snow...


I know it's incredibly short, but that's because the next chapter is coming very soon... and it's much longer.
