Chapter 10- Succession
"Three left." Tatsuya sighed as he grabbed the three scrolls. He placed the first scroll into one of his eagles' carrying pouch. He bent down and whispered into its ear.
"Orochimaru, Orochimaru, Orochimaru."
He watched the bird fly off. He walked to the second one. The second scroll was put into the pouch.
"Akatsuki, Akatsuki, Akatsuki."
He watched that one fly away as well.
He watched the last eagle, it was his fastest and best. This one was to deliver a special message. A really special message. He carefully placed the scroll in the pouch before sealing it.
He grinned. This one felt good. It was especially crude. He bent down towards the bird and scratched its head.
He took a large breath, and stated the bird's destination. It was a special destination, for a special person.
"Idiots." He snorted before he walked back into his house. "As if I'd ever go along with that."
He could feel another attack coming on.
-.-
To say the least, Kaname was surprised. She was just getting settled into the summoning circle. She was still just a bit sore from her night with Izumo. She made it clear to him that just because she slept with him, it does not mean that they are dating. And he accepted it.
No, before she could date she had to get over the death of her first love. They had never been a couple, but instead they had been good friends, mostly because he was Itachi's cousin, as well as in her graduating class.
What's with the fucking Uchiha's and disappointing people? She snorted. She really did miss Shisui, it's hard to think he killed himself. Even harder to think that Itachi could have killed him.
That was the moment where she popped out of the circle and appeared before the team she was supposed to guide. The three looked at her without blinking, clearly not surprised.
"Well, this is a shocker." Kaname said crossing her arms. "An hour and thirty-seven minutes."
The three Genin just stared at her.
"What are you staring at?" she growled. She studied them once more before sighing.
Kaida had been right, these three seemed quite interesting.
-.-
"Kaida! Please sit down." The Hokage said. I closed to door behind me and walked to the cushion that was on the ground. I looked at the Hokage in question as he put up a privacy jutsu.
"What's the matter?" I asked. I had just finished my morning rounds on the wall and was about to go to Tatsuya's Kohona hideout. It was the first day to the second stage of the Chunin Exams and so far the Ravens had not reported anything strange. I like to use them for recon work that is when they are willing to work with me.
"I need your opinion on something." He told me. I narrowed my eyes as he passed me a scroll.
I looked it over and noticed it was from Tatsuya. I wasn't sure what that asshole wanted but if he was going to order me into doing the sixth level so soon, I wasn't sure that I could do it.
I opened the scroll and started to read.
I'm officially retired. Cerberus will be taking over my position. Stop bothering me. That one will contact you and specify a method for your messages.
-Tatsuya.-
I put the scroll down and stared. This was big. It was the moment I had been waiting for since he named me heir, and I was not happy one bit. The asshole could have at least warned me. Why does he always put me in such spontaneous positions?
I sighed before looking up at the Hokage.
"What do you want me to say?" I asked him.
"Is it true?" I caught his eye as he let out a stream of smoke from his mouth.
"It seems like it." I replied. "I guess I'm officially Tatsuya's replacement."
I scratched my head in thought.
"This doesn't make sense Kaida, he's in his thirties, that's no age to retire."
I caught his eye and shook my head.
"Don't. Lord Third." I told him. I was sworn to secrecy. "I can't say anything."
He fell silent for a long period of time.
"Will you remain as a Jonin?" he asked me. I nodded.
"Please dull my skills in the records. I don't want to be sent out on missions every few days should something happen to you. This knowledge of me being Cerberus is confidential and will stay silent between us." I stressed. "You will take this knowledge to the grave with you."
The room was tense as the unspoken threat was stated.
"Yes, I understand Kaida." He sighed. "I'm getting threatened by children, I really am getting old." He laughed and I couldn't help but laugh with him.
"I'm sorry Lord Third." I told him. I know I was putting him in a bad position but I had to do it. My identity had to be kept secret. There wasn't many other people who could piece together that I might be Cerberus. If I had to name them, they were Danzo, Ibiki, my brother, Orochimaru, Shirosaki and Itachi. The Hokage, Lydia, Tatsuya, Kaname, Miku and Rasa were the only ones who knew for sure that my title was Cerberus. To be honest, the only people that I feel as if I really had to be careful with was Danzo, Orochimaru and Itachi. I trusted the others. Even Shirosaki.
I forced myself to relax the intensity that my words brought to the world.
"I understand you Kaida, but I need to make sure, if anything should happen to the village, you would protect the people right?" he asked me.
I looked up into his face.
"Of course, My Lord."
He smiled, clearly happy.
"Thank you Kadia."
"It's my pleasure Lord Third. I have people I care about in this village, I would be insane to not want to protect them."
-.-
"Are really going to go through with this, Rasa?"
-.-
"Kaida!" I turned around from my spot on top the city walls to see an ANBU come towards me. I extended my range outwards and focused less on the details but more on movement. At first I didn't recognize the figure but once I saw the familiar mask I grinned.
"Hello Tenzo." I answered. He caught his breath before looking down at me.
"It has been a while." He said.
"Yes, it has," I sat on the wall and patted the spot next to me. He sat next to me and sighed.
"Did you just get back from a mission?" I asked him. He nodded.
"Yes, the Third Hokage has been working me like a dog." He complained. I chuckled at his words. He never complained before. He clearly has been distancing himself from Danzo's teachings. One would have thought that Tatsuya was another Danzo, but that isn't his case. Sure his training regimen was similar, but they were quite different. For one, Tatsuya was very lenient when it came to personality. He wanted you to keep your personality when he trained you. He didn't want a broken student.
I hummed keeping an eye on the forest ahead of me.
"Being a part of the Hokage's personal ANBU is a great achievement." I told him. He sighed.
"Yeah, I know." He said. "It is really great, but its hard work."
I was silent for a few moments, feeling someone else's chakra come towards me. A very familiar chakra.
"What's up, Kaname?" I asked as she appeared next to me. She was fully decked out in her ANBU uniform. Tenzo nodded to her in greeting before she passed me a scroll. It was a scroll from the Hokage.
"He wants me on a mission?" I said raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah, just us two." She told me, then turned to Tenzo. "He wants to see you too."
Tenzo groaned. I couldn't help but chuckle at his misery. With a mile, I turned away and looked along the wall.
"Ibiki!" I called out, the T&I commander turned towards me. I raised the scroll and he nodded. Within a few more seconds a Chunin came to replace me. I gave him a nod before leaving with the two ANBU members.
We walked into the Hokage's office to see him standing behind his desk. It had been the first time I'd ever seen him there, rather than in his greeting room on a cushion.
"Tenzo," the Hokage said.
"Yes, my Lord?" The wood user replied.
"Take this," the Hokage gave him a scroll. "Can you please take this to the Kazekage."
I heard my friend groan and couldn't help but chuckle.
"Shush Kaida." He muttered but took the scroll.
"I'm sorry for having you do this even though you just got back from a mission." The Hokage said, laying his voice with sympathy. "But you are so good at your job."
Tenzo beamed at the compliment.
"Thank you for the praise sir," he said bowing. "I won't let you down!"
He turned around to me and nodded.
"We'll catch up more when I get back from my mission." He disappeared soon after.
"Oh you manipulative man." Kaname playfully scolded. The Hokage smoked his pipe with a small grin. I let out a small laugh.
"Tenzo's very easy to work with." I told my best friend. She narrowed her eyes in question. "He's kind of gullible when it comes to the people he can relax around."
"That is quite true," the Hokage said. I caught a sparkle in his eye. "But I'd never do it if he couldn't handle it."
"Right." I agreed sarcastically. The Hokage chuckled.
"So what did you want us for?" Kaname asked. The Hokage sat in his chair looking up at us. He unlocked the bottom drawer of his desk and reached inside. He came up with a scroll and put in on the desk. He the laced his fingers together and watched Kaname and I move towards the desk.
I grabbed the scroll and looked up at the Hokage once more.
I unraveled the paper and inhaled sharply.
"This is…" I trailed off before glancing outside the window. I could tell my stalkers were there.
"Yes, it is." The Hokage said.
Kaname looked over at my shoulder, memorizing the scroll. I did the same.
"So why did you give us this?" Kaname asked. I rolled up the scroll.
I gathered chakra in my hands and transformed it into a lock and key. I held out both towards Kaname. Without looking, she picked the key and attached it to her belt loops. I loved this transformation Jutsu. It made it so that the only way someone could get the scroll is if they collected both pieces.
"I thought you would like a gift." He asked.
"A gift?" Kaname asked confused. As much as I loved her, she didn't know how understand important information from small chatter.
"Thank you very much for the plan. I've been wanting to visit this place for a while now." I replied with a smile. Kaname fell silent.
"I figured as much, I thought you would like the plans so you could organise your visits around your schedule." He let out the smoke from his lungs.
"I will use them well." I grinned.
"When you get back from the trip come tell me about it. I've always wanted to know what it's like."
"Of course Lord Hokage," I bowed. "but it's a large place, We're going to have to go multiple times." He nodded.
"Then we'll have to have tea sometime and you can tell me what you find."
"Thanks again." I told him before looking over at my partner in crime.
"Ready to go?" I asked her. Kaname looked over at me sheepishly.
"As long as you explain the plan to me, I didn't get a chance to figure it out." She muttered.
The Hokage and I chuckled at her predicament.
"Come, let's go back to my place, I'll let you pick out your section and we can visit Lydia." I told her. She nodded and we walked to the door.
"Oh, and Lord Hokage?" I said. He looked up from his paperwork. "Next time you should have waited until I set up the mailing system." With one last glance we left the tower.
Kaname and I chatted lightly all the way to the compound where my stalkers finally stopped. They didn't want to chance coming any closer after the last incident.
"You three Root members. Get over here now." I said as I sat on my porch. They emerged from the trees after a few moments and I smiled innocently at them.
"I'm only going to tell you this once," I told them. "So make sure this gets back to Danzo."
I moved fast, faster than they could see, and appeared in front of them. Softly I plucked the masks from their faces committing their faces to memory.
"You will not enter my living area again. There will be a child present in the house in a little while and I am damn well sure that I don't want him or her to see you or knowing that you are watching us. You can watch me all you want, but outside my living area. Leave the others out of this." I told them. "That includes my land." I walked back to my patio and placed the masks on the wood.
"Is that clear?" I said, sitting back down. "I know who you are now, so I'll make sure you and your family never take another breath if I feel any of you in this place again." They stayed frozen standing on the ground. I wouldn't think that Danzo's men would scare so easily.
It's because of me, kid.
I narrowed my eyes before looking down at my arm. If I wasn't already used to his stunts I too would have scared. I could feel the soft sensation of my tattoo crawling out from my back and down my arm. I was only dressed in a sleeveless top so they could see the black figure crawling.
"Stop creeping them out Killua." I whispered. I could hear him chuckle in my head.
You're no fun.
I watched the ANBU slowly move back. Not even bothering to take their masks.
"Be gone."
"I wonder what Danzo thinks now that his men have somewhat met you?" I thought to the being inside me.
I'm sleeping, he grumbled.
I rolled my eyes before walking into my house. I felt Lydia moving around in the kitchen.
"Hi Lydia." Kaname said coming in after me. We walked into the kitchen to see food already on the table.
"You didn't have to cook!" I told her.
"I don't mind it's the least I could do." She smiled sitting at the table. Kaname sat down next to me and we ate.
-.-
"So what's this plan?" Kaname asked as we walked into one of the other buildings.
"Layout of Danzo's base." I told her. It was the building she would eventually move into.
"He wants us to explore it?" she asked. I nodded.
"So the Hokage doesn't trust him even if they used to be good friends." I told her. She looked around the kitchen before moving back into the hallway.
"Why is he asking us to do it instead of sending in one of his ANBU?" she asked. That was the point where I realised just how much Tatsuya's lessons helped me think strategically. We moved into the kitchen.
"Two reasons." I told her. I watched her look around the room that had been recently cleaned by the Genin team I had hired last week. "First, who in his arsenal can sneak into the ANBU Root base without being found out?" I asked.
"Kakashi? Tenzo? Himself? Jariya?" she said. She stopped before trying to find more people. "Ibiki?"
I nodded. "Not many other people. These people are always busy with other missions. Not to mention that they are already kept on watch my Danzo and have already dealt with him."
"Okay, then what's the second reason?" she asked. Kaname opened her shoji doors and took a deep breath of fresh air. Her view was of the forest, and it was facing the way to the village.
"If we do get caught, what do you think is going to happen? If someone associated directly with him was to be caught, it would be apparent that he ordered it. But if it's us, who associated with Tatsuya, Danzo would be sure that Tatsuya ordered." I replied.
She was silent for a long moment watching the trees.
"You don't have to do it." I told her. "I can do it myself. I know you don't want to be a part of Cerberus."
She exhaled.
"I really don't, but I can't let you go through with this without any back up." she looked over at me and I saw resolution. "I'll work with you Kaida. And not just for this mission either."
-.-
"KAIDA!" I winced as I walked into the Jonin Station. It looked like one large circular living room with couches and a potted plant in the center. This was our 'break room', I guess you could call it. Most Jonin, when not on duty or doing something else, could be found here at one point in their day.
"Hi Guy." I said walking over to the man in the green jumpsuit and bowl cut hair. I was looking for my brother, since I didn't really have anything else to do.
I smiled when I saw that their group was there as well.
"Hello, Asuma, Kurenai, Scarecrow." I said. My brother glared and I sat next to him.
"Scarecrow?" Kurenai asked trying not to laugh.
"Don't tease your brother, Kaida." Asuma grinned. I shrugged before looking over at the silver-haired ninja.
"I'm allowed." I told them.
"Of course you're allowed Kaida! You are keeping your brother Youthful!" I stared at Guy before sighing. What I didn't know is that Kakashi had done the same thing.
"You're just like him!" Guy pointed. I shrugged.
"He did raise me." I replied. "I reserve the right to be like him." Guy froze still pointing at me.
"NO! YOU MUST PRESERVE YOUR YOUTH."
I ignored the Taijutsu monster's outburst and turned towards the other two.
"Sorry to interrupt your discussion. What were you talking about?" I asked out of curiosity.
I watched as Kurenai and Asuma looked over at each other before looking at my brother. I noticed that Guy was also looking at him. I sighed, they were obviously were talking about something serious and were silently asking my brother if they could tell me.
"I'm turning 19, and am a Jonin, for over 6 years, I think you can tell me things without the permission of my brother." I said amused. Kakashi chuckled.
"It's strictly confidential among our ranks and only a handful of people know." My brother told me. I watched all their faces become serious and I knew that whatever it what, it was big news.
"Something happened to the Genin right?" I said. I hadn't heard anything about it from my raven that I asked to circle the forest. But the factor is, it didn't matter, these four were old class mates. They were also all Jonin-sensei, with Genin in the exams. It was a strong possibility that something had happened.
"Ororchimaru was spotted in the forest arena."
I froze before looking up at my brother as the news processed in my head. That explains the chakra in the first exam it was actually his, but something was off about it.
Immortality.
That's it he switched his body.
"He's after Sasuke." I leaned back as it solidified in my brain. "Isn't he?"
"Yes, how did you know?" Kurenai asked. My back hit the sofa and I thought of how I was going to phrase my words. Guy calmed down and sat on the other side of my brother.
"When I was out on my mission I came across some information on Itachi." I confessed. The four Jonin stared at me in seriousness. They all knew how close I was with the Uchiha. Actually thinking about it, I was sure there wasn't anyone who knew me and by extension knew I was associated with Itachi. "I found out early on that Orochimaru tried to attack him, wanting his Sharingan." I told them. They silently processed the information.
"Did Orochimaru get him?" Asuma asked. I shook my head.
"Apparently, Itachi took him down without even trying."
"That's impossible!" Kurenai whispered. "Orochimaru is one of the Sanin! There is no way someone thirty years his junior could beat him."
"No, it's not impossible." Kakashi answered. "I've worked with Itachi. That guy is a true prodigy."
"So Orochimaru hasn't given up?" Guy asked. I shook my head.
"That's why he's after Sasuke, he's too young and inexperienced." Asuma said. "He's going after the weaker of the two."
"I'm sure of it."
-.-
I stood in line looking over the Genin who passed the third round. Proud is an understatement. I was always kind of a nationalist when it came to the fire country. Looking at the results of the exam I grinned. Out of the twenty-four contestants, twelve were leaf ninja. The Hokage finished his speech and looked over at my transformed body. I had transformed back to the form I had used during the first exam and was acting once again as a supervisor. I also received permission from the Hokage to stay for the preliminaries with Miku as a medic aid. But in reality I was here to see if I could find Orochimaru in the middle of it. Kaname wanted to come too, but she lost in rock paper scissors and had to scout out around Danzo's base.
That's when Hayate announced that there was going to be preliminary matches, since there were too many people. I narrowed my eyes as I spotted Kabuto raise his hand to drop out. What is he playing at?
My eyes traveled to Sasuke to see him grit his teeth in pain. I really didn't like seeing him in pain. Now where to find Orochimaru.
I barely even noticed when the two first combatants were chosen.
"I'll take him to seal it after his fight." My brother whispered in my ear. I nodded before evacuating the stage floor and moving up to the balcony to stand next to my brother's team and the rest of the Rookie 9 plus Guy's team. Miku splintered off and went onto the other balcony standing, surprisingly, right by my ex-students.
I stood off to the side, not engaging in the conversation around me, or watching the fight, instead I was scanning the room, in search of Orochimaru. Kabuto had already left so he couldn't give me any clue as to where he was. But I had a shadow clone trailing him.
I ignored Naruto's yelling and concentrated on my sensory range. I first checked my side of the room. Kakashi, Naruto, Sakura, Lee, Neji, Tenten, Guy, Kurenai, Kiba, Hinata, the Overachiever Aburame, (I was surprised he was still around.), Asuma, Shikamaru, an Akimichi and a Yamanaka. Their chakra signature matched the taste I got in the first exam.
I watched Sasuke slam his opponent into the ground and suppressed a grin. That kid is going to be strong. Probably stronger than Itachi. Kakashi left his place against the wall and reached the Uchiha. I walked down from that balcony and moved towards the other one.
Kakashi and Sasuke left the room soon after. Miku caught my eye and cocked her head to the side.
"K-chan?" she asked. I shook my head before leaning against the wall. I felt eyes glue to me and a small wave of dark bloodlust. The hairs stood on the back of my neck and I suppressed an excited shiver. My love for battle had only gotten worse. My eyes caught light green eyes. The bloodlust had come from Gaara.
Kaida.
I snapped out of my mood and started my investigation a new.
The second match was chosen, it was one of the sound Genin I didn't know and the overachiever Aburame.
The Sand Jonin commander, Gaara, Temari, Kankuro, The two left over Leaf Genin, their Jonin commander. Two sound Genin. Orochimaru. I didn't look over but by the way his body tensed I knew he realised that someone was poking around. I wasn't really trying to hide it. I could feel another's stare from the other side of the room and saw one of Guy's student's, Neji, stare at me with his Byakugan activated. Seems like he caught me feeling out everyone. I was actually curious to what my sensory range looked like to the Hyuuga. All of a sudden Orochimaru was gone.
"He left?" Miku whispered. I nodded before watching the battle below. "Are you going after him?"
I shook my head.
"After. He won't do anything yet. I have a shadow clone trailing Kabuto." I told her. "I also want to give him a head start." She nodded and we watched the rest of the battle. The battle ended soon enough for the Aburame's win, and the arms of the sound ninja had holes blown in it by the amount of chakra that had built up. I caught Hayate's eyes as he claimed to leader and he nodded to the sound ninja.
Miku descended the stairs and when to see the boy. That was the time that someone had taken to question me.
"Who are you?" Gaara growled. I looked down at him and felt another wave of blood lust.
"Calm down Gaara." I whispered playfully, he narrowed his eyes, glaring at me. "You know who I am."
I walked back down the stairs as the next pair was chosen. Kankuro and the other leaf ninja. I made it just in time to see my brother reappear. I watched a bead of sweat roll down his temple.
I raised an eyebrow in question before standing beside him. His jaw was tense as if he just went through a stressful situation. Wait. Stressful situation. Orochimaru just left.
"So you got a visit?" I asked as if it was an everyday occurrence. His eye trailed over to me and looked at me in surprised.
"How did you know?" he asked me. I nodded over to the sound ninja.
"He was posing as the Jonin leader of the sound ninja." I wrote on his arm. We had to keep this a secret. "As soon as I found him he disappeared. My guess was he went to look for Sasuke."
My brother nodded his head.
"Yeah. This gets me worried." He muttered. I squeezed his hand in reassurance before looking toward the fight. Kankuro was in the grasp of the leaf ninja. The leaf ninja broken his neck and I cocked my head to the side. There is no way he would go down so easy. Just as the thought left my head, Kankuro jumped out of the bandages on his back and used his puppet to grab a hold of his opponent.
I could hear the shinobi trying to give up, but Kankuro didn't let him. I watched unflinching as he cracked his spine. Oh Kankuro, where did that fun loving boy go? I sighed before Miku ran out with a few medics to get the crying Genin.
"K-chan." Miku called. I sighed once again before moving down to the lower level. I helped the medics put the unconscious boy on the stretcher and carry him out of the arena. We brought him down a set of stairs where a temporary medical station was set up. A few doctors took the boy from us and Miku and I stood off to the side.
"He wanted to give up." she whispered. I knew she what she was thinking of. We wanted to give up so many times when faced with Tatsuya's levels. We went so far as to beg, but he wouldn't let us.
"I think it's the people from Suna, I think it's the way they teach their kids." I told her. I watched more tears unconsciously roll down the broken boy's face.
"It's unfair to judge everyone in that village by a few people's actions." Miku tried, but I knew maybe she believed it as well.
"I've heard many stories about Suna's training regimen. It's not at all like Kiri's brutality but if they provide students that do this they have to have some sadism in them." I whispered. "Then again it could be the world that is corrupt. Or maybe I'm finally just becoming senile."
That roused a chuckle from my partner.
"Let's go back upstairs." I told her. She grinned before leading me back upstairs just in time for Sakura and Ino to knock each other out. Miku and I blinked in surprise before looking up at Hayate.
"Double knock out?" I asked. He nodded before coughing. Miku and I walked up to the Genin and checked their vitals.
I put Sakura on my back and Miku did the same with Ino. We brought them up to their side and set them back down next to each other.
"They must have fought hard." I said looking down at the girls.
"Not at all. They are both weak." I heard someone say. I looked over at Neji.
I smirked knowing why he said that.
"I'm not so sure, Neji-san." Miku said putting her finger on her chin. The screen scrambled behind us as it randomly chose the next paring.
"What do you mean like that? The fight looked as if it was between first year academy students." The boy snorted. I chuckled at him as he scowled.
"What do you mean by that!" Naruto growled. I put my hand up and shook my head.
"Don't worry kid, I'm sure that there was more going on in this fight then what was shown physically." I glanced over at Neji. "Those who are observant would know that."
"What was that?" He growled.
"K-chan."
I looked over at the screen to see Temari's name being written. Now I got to see if my theory was right. I walked away from the girls and back over to where Kakashi and was standing. I nodded over by to the staircase and Miku followed my suggestion. She sat on the stairs and look on as Guy's student moved into the platform.
"You may begin."
The fight was painfully quick. I watched as Tenten fell back first onto Temari's fan.
My student had become a bitch. She snorted and threw Guy's student off her fan towards her weapons that laid on the ground. I was about to move when guy's student, Lee, caught her. Miku rushed over and looked over to Tenten. Before taking her in her arms.
"Nice catch" she said mockingly.
"What are you doing!" Lee shouted. "Is that how you treat someone who gave their all in battle?"
Temari rolled her eyes.
"Shut up and get that loser out of here." She said. She replaced her fan on the ground as Lee started forward. I wasn't the only one who made a move to stop them. Guy landed right by lee telling him to stop as I pulled Temari's shirt back, making sure that the kick didn't hit her or her fan.
"Lee stop." Guy ordered.
"Damn." Temari looked over her shoulder at me, clearly wanting to fight with the boy.
"Stop being such an idiot." I whispered. "If you two really did get into a fight, you would both be disqualified." She froze before replacing her fan.
"Temari, get up here." I didn't need to see the speaker to know it was Gaara. She stiffened at his voice. "You've been declared the winner, stop wasting your time with that pathetic guardian guy." I sighed as I let go of her.
"That's enough Lee." Guy told his student. I could see how frustrated that Lee was. His hand was shaking and he was seething with anger. I looked back towards his teacher and he nodded.
"Sand Team, There is something I want to warn you about if you don't mind." He said. "This kid is strong, you better prepare yourself."
I bit my lip trying to laugh. That was so typical Guy that it was funny. I could hear muttering from the Kohona's side as I looked over at the weapons that littered the floor.
I heard Hayate cough from my left, breaking up the confrontation. The stage was cleared of people but still not of the weapons.
"This might take a while." He groaned looking at all the weapons. I slipped my fingers in one of the pouches on my belt. I pulled out my ninja wire and gathered my chakra forcing it to fuel my physical body. Then I let my body fly. I made sure to pick up every single weapon on the ground. Each weapon which could be was weaved onto my wire. The few who weren't, I picked up and secured it to my body in one way or another. It took less than ten seconds before I was standing in front of my old classmate folding the string of kunai and other weapons in loops and placing it over my head so it flowed across my body.
I tied off the wire and grinned. This was all part of my image as 'K'.
"Good enough to pass onto the next fight?" I asked. He coughed into my hand before speaking.
"Show off." I winked before jumping back onto the balcony where guy's team was.
"That's what I call YOUTH!" Guy called giving me his thumbs up. I laughed before slipping off the railing.
"No, that's called Speed." I told him.
"So fast." Lee looked at me in adoration. "Hello! My name is Rock Lee! How did you get so fast!" the mini-Guy asked. The scrolling of the screen started as I looked over at the kid.
"Talent, hard work, dedication, and bad situations." I said honestly. I heard a snort beside me.
"If it was talent, there is no need for hard work." I looked over at the Hyuga and raised an eyebrow. Lydia's nephew really is a little shit.
"Are you implying that those who work hard are nothing compared to those who have talent?" I asked him.
He snorted.
"No, I'm saying those who do not have talent are nothing compared to those who are protegees."
I couldn't help but start laughing.
"That's the understatement of the year." I laughed. He glared at me and I ignored him in favor of his teacher. "You know Guy, bring these guys by my place after all this is done with, I'll sort out this debate out." Guy sighed.
"I've been working on it Kid!" he told me. The screen stopped and I looked over at the next match.
"Nara Shikamaru v.s Tsuchi Kin." I read. I turned around to go back to my previous position but Neji's words stopped me.
"You talk as if you know what those who work hard go through, while you yourself are a prodigy." I looked over at him from the corner of my eye.
"I know what I'm talking about Hyuga, don't test me." I left at that moment just in time for the next match to be set.
"Why are you looking so down?" I asked the smoking Jonin. Asuma looked up from his student.
"I'm afraid he's going to give up." he told me. I snickered before looking at his teammates cheering for him.
"Ah, yes that's true he's a Nara." I grinned. I watched the boy for a few seconds before looking at his sensei again.
"Does he take after his father?" I asked in curiosity. I got a grin in return.
"More than you think."
"K-chan!" I turned around to see Miku running towards me.
"Kaname-chan?" she stopped and stared at me intently. I pouted.
"That's not fair, I wear weapons and you think I'm her?" she grinned in embarrassment before the ring caught her attention. She threw a bunch of scrolls at me, and I caught them before she threw herself at the railing next to the Yamanaka.
"GO SHIKA-KUN!" she yelled. The Nara winced before looking over his shoulder at his cousin.
"GO, GO, GO MAKE SURE YOU SHIKA SHIKA SHAKE-YOUR BOOTY!" She cheered. I snorted before slapping my hands on my mouth to stop the laughter that was bubbling inside of me. "AND SLAM THE BITCH'S HEAD INTO THE WALL!" I couldn't help myself anymore and busted out laughing.
"Shush Miku," I choked out. "He needs to concentrate." I had to hold onto the wall as I made my way to Kakashi's team. If there is something Miku loves most, it's her family and friends. She treasures them more than most. After all that is how she was able to cope with everything Tatsuya did to us. She treasured the people outside that part of her life.
The fight had been another one that ended fast. To be honest, I loved the kid. He was lazy but so freaking smart. His brains in turn allowed for him to be lazy. He fell back into a bridge and the sound ninja's head slammed into the wall.
"THAT'S IT!" MIku yelled to his cousin. With a yawn, he walked back up the platform and to his team. He got tackle hugged by Miku as she rubbed her face against his like a cat. Rolling my eyes I sat down on the ground and opened the scrolls. I speed-read through them, deciphering where each weapon was supposed to go.
"Miku, leave your cousin alone… and get down here!" Hayate called pausing only once to cough.
"Alright Sicky!" I choked out a laugh.
"What did you call me?"
"NOTHING!" Miku rushed down the steps and picked up the unconscious woman. Checking her over, Miku left the room with her, probably to check for a concussion. The screen scrolled before landing on two names.
Uzumaki, Naruto V.s Inuzuka, Kiba.
I hummed as Naruto started to freak out in happiness. He really was waiting for his turn to show off.
"Orochimaru." Kabuto acknowledged. I watched them talk from a few building away. Now that they have engaged each other, it was the time to make my own appearance, and warn them. I then focused my chakra into myself, causing myself to dispel.
I looked up to Miku talking silently with her. He nodded soon after. I created a shadow clone soon after and disappeared. I had to go see Orochimaru and Kabuto. They need to have a talking to.
-.-
"You plan to use Sasuke as a bullet to create hostilities between villages, aren't you?" Kabuto asked. "While the exams were in session, I wanted to take a look at the sound ninja you sent. So I confronted them. I learned a lot, it seems you don't trust me.
"You're my right hand man, I trust that I didn't need to tell you about them. Just that if proof of my trust." Orochimaru looked out as the bird flew away from the nearby railing. "I plan on leaving Sasuke in your hands. The curse mark appears to have been sealed by Kakashi, but in any event, it is not my concern. I want you to abduct him."
"But something still troubles me." the older muttered.
"Is it Naruto Uzumaki?" Kabuto asked.
"Yes."
"And you will not touch either of them. Is that clear?" I slid off the roof and landed on the railing. Both ninja jumped in surprise.
"K."
Kabuto's hands started to glow and I hummed.
"Don't even try it." I told him before dropping my disguise.
Both him and Orochimaru stiffened. It's pretty hard to forget someone who threaten to kill you when you know they could do it.
"Does, Tatsuya know you are here?" I asked seriously. Both men narrowed their eyes.. "I guess that answers my question."
"It is an honor to meet the great Cerberus." The snake-like man hissed.
"I am not Cerberus." I told them. He snorted in disbelief.
"As if I'd believe that." He said.
"I can't lie." I admitted to both men. "Cerberus was born in Suna years ago."
Orochimaru studied me and I could see the see of doubt that I planted pass through him.
"I was sadly demoted to taking care of the paperwork." I hummed. I leaned against the wall and folded my arms across my chest like I was talking with a couple of friends. Little did they know I had senbon in my sleeves.
The men fell silent, studying me. I rose an eyebrow in question, let them be the ones to start this conversation.
"You don't seem so sad about your inheritance being taken away." Orochimaru mentioned. I shrugged.
"My clothes get less dirty this way." I said as if his words didn't affect me. But I knew he could see that I could still pose a fight.
"That would mean that you are no longer a problem." Kabuto growled. I raised an eyebrow at him before ignoring his taunts.
"I heard your latest achievement, so I'm only going to warn you only once more." I started. "You will not engage Sasuke anymore." Orochimaru's hand twitched.
"As if you could stop us." Kabuto scoffed. I smirked.
"Oh well, it would be a shame if one, or two, of your labs went up in flames." I caught the hand coated in chakra and tripped Kabuto. Landing on his stomach I gripped his arm and placed a knee on spine, pressing him into the ground. He groaned and tried to lash out once again.
"Stop Kabuto." Orochimaru snapped. The younger man stilled as I broke his arm, the other's warning going unheard.
"I will do as you ask." The snake man hissed. I nodded my head.
"Good choice."
I let Kabuto go. He sprung away from me before starting to heal his own wounds. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes before turning around and walking away.
"One last thing." I told them and looked over my shoulder. I made sure I stuck all sympathy out of my voice. "Get the fuck out of my Village."
-.-
Later that day I met up with my brother. We walked the streets, heading over to his apartment.
"So what are you planning for Naruto if you are going to be focusing on Sasuke?" I asked as we turned down his street.
He was silent for a few seconds before he answered. We went up to his building, the Jonin apartments, and started to climb the stairs.
"I was hoping you would teach him." I stopped in my tracks staring at Kakashi in shock. My brother kept walking but soon had to turn around, since I had stopped.
"No." I said, recovering. "There is no way I'll be able to teach someone." My brother sighed before we started to walk again.
"And why'd that?" he asked. We got to a familiar door and he unlocked it. We made our way in and he closed the door. The apartment looked cleaner then the last time. There was no longer a futon on the floor and the bookshelf and desk was now gone from the living room. I guess he took over my old room.
"You know why Kakashi." I told him. "I can't teach people, the only example of a teacher I really have is Tatsuya."
"You are not him." he replied. "You have to get that through your think skull, Little Dragon.
"I know that." I sighed.
"Naruto could learn a lot from you." He mentioned before sitting on his new couch. "You could clean up his Taijutsu and make him more of a strategic fighter."
I shook my head. "Please find someone else,"
I sat beside him and scratched the back of my neck.
"I have an S-class mission soon anyway." I mentioned.
He looked over at me in surprise. "Really." I nodded.
"The Hokage is having me do some undercover work." He knew not to say anything else.
He hummed and looked up at the ceiling. We stayed silent, basking in each other's presence for a few minutes before he broke it.
"Yesterday was a pretty eventful day." I went through the seals of the blurring jutsu before he could say anymore. "I went to the hospital to visit Sasuke and Kabuto had knocked out all the Anbu stationed there.
I narrowed my eyes.
"And why was he there?" I asked.
"He tried to kill Sasuke, I was lucky that I got there in time to see what was going on and stopped him." he mentioned. I snorted in laughter.
"Fucking Orochimaru." I growled.
"That doesn't sound very lady-like." He mentioned.
"That's what happens when you spend 5 years with an assassin and his heir as company.
Hello Everyone,
Here is another update. This chapter doesn't quite seems so exciting in compared to my others, and will probably be one of my more boring chapters, but it is essential. You'll understand in the next chapter, when i get around to updating it.
I want to thank my followers, favoriters and all my views for reading this, without you I probably wouldn't have continued. I also want to Thank ZabuzaGirl for replying. I'm glad you like it. I'm sorry I wasn't able to update so fast. I'll try to update within a few weeks, but i can't promise...aka-University -.-'. I agree with you, Misora Asuka, i would like to see that as well ;) I'll try to add some more where i can. Thanks!

Have an amazing day.
P.S You don't have to read this but, as someone that likes to encourage people to reach for their dreams, I can officially say that another one of my goals have been met. I was invited to go to Greece and take part in an Archaeological dig for six weeks. I never thought i would ever be able to do it. But dreams do come true, you just have to want it bad enough.
