This chapter I find to be a little interesting, well to me at least. This chapter in a way is like day and night. One side is funny and comedic. The side is dark and and almost chilling. Hopefully you'll like how this plays out.
To reviewer Owen96, Coco does fight back a little in this chapter. It may not be what you expect, but I think Coco plays her part well. Believe me in later chapters, Coco is going to whup someone's ass.
For now Enjoy.
Crash is not owned by me. Craig, Jan, Valerie and any other OC's are mine.
Chapter 9 Double Header
Crash landed in the village of a rather large kingdom. The towns folk were out and about doing there business. The sky was thick with clouds and rain unleashed itself along the land.
The bandicoot groaned as he pulled his hood over his head.
"Is the crystal and gem near the gates of the castle?" Crash asked.
"Yup right outside, but it's quite a walk, we'd better start."
Crash started jogging along the trail when he came up to his first obstacle: a giant being with two heads, wielding two large clubs in each hand.
"Well what do we have here?" Crash asked, smirking.
"Finally, you showed up. Do you know how hot it is in here or what it's like being in a body suit with him?" The head on the left, complained.
"Hey you're not the most entertaining person either!" The right head growled.
"Whatever, now that you're here, we'll make sure that never get back up again."
"Really, you think you can just take me out just like that? I bet you can't swing those clubs with the both of you in that body."
Crash laughed as he tried running past them. However, The head on the right swung his club hitting Crash in the stomach, knocking the wind out of him.
"Woah…! That hurt." Crash wheezed.
"You really think you can walk past us as easy as that?" Stated the left head.
"Okay maybe that wasn't the smartest idea I ever had." Crash groaned.
"Hmph! You've hardly put up a challenge bandicoot, give us a proper battle, if you can."
"You're right; I've hardly given you anything, but if you want a proper challenge…"
Crash double jumped above them landing on the other side. "You'll have to catch me first."
Crash took off running after running for about 200 feet. He then stopped to see if the two followed him.
Crash was surprised to see the two assistants running or jumping to move each foot and they were moving rather quick. The two then jumped flipping in the air landing on the ground gracefully.
"Uh oh." Crash whimpered before running off.
Meanwhile in the Arabian world, two shadowy figures were conversing with each other.
"Are you sure you're right about this?" Craig asked, his navy blue clothes blending into the darkness of the night.
"No doubt about it; the little Sheila will be here, I can feel it." Dingodile answered, excited of the hunt.
"Just remember that because of her size she may be able to outrun you, which is why N. Gin sent me to come along with you."
"Just don't get in the way of my fun, mate." The hybrid warned, dangerously.
"Don't worry; I'll be as silent as the night."
Another minion appeared from above.
"The target has been sighted, she's heading in this direction."
"Good, I'm ready for her." The monster chuckled darkly.
"I'll take my leave, watching from afar." Craig jumped upon the clothes lines, disappearing into the shadows.
Coco was slowly walking through the backstreets of the city with not a soul in sight. The small girl knew by now that this meant something was not right.
She slowly turned the corner to see the alley she was walking in was laden with heavy shadows. When Coco tried to get a better look, she thought she saw an outline a figure in the shadows, but all was still.
"I must be really tired if I'm seeing things that aren't supposed to be there."
Suddenly Dingodile's eyes opened; he then opened his mouth, revealing his eerily white sharp teeth.
Coco could feel her pounding;almost convinced that it was going to rip out of her chest.
Dingodile slowly slid out of the shadows, not taking his eyes off the little girl.
"
You're one of Cortex's minions, aren't you?" Demanded the little bandicoot.
"Quite the sharp one you are. I've been given the name Dingodile."
"So what are you doing out here? Wouldn't you have gone after my brother instead?"
"I already did; however your brother was only lucky because of his speed and that was the only reason he was able to beat me."
"So why are you here?" Coco asked, her muscled tensed.
"Dr. Cortex is rather concerned since you know about the lost minion."
"Amanda…"
"Yes and Dr. Cortex is worried that you will mention that to Crash, thus creating an understanding between the three of you."
"Which means…"
"Dr. Cortex has ordered that I am to keep you silent."
Coco slowly started backing away; Dingodile had the ability to take her down here and now. She couldn't battle him, she had to run.
She screamed before immediately bolting away.
She ran through the streets screaming for help, but the world around her was completely was silent. It seemed like she entered the world of shadows and all that could hear was the dead. She had to survive on her own.
The small girl noticed the coverings from some of the town's stands. She decided to use them to get to the roof tops, there she might have a better chance from escaping.
Coco ran to the stand climbing on the top and jumped from clothes line to clothes line. Finally, she reached the rooftop and looked below to see if Dingodile had followed her. She noticed the coast was clear, for now.
The little girl tip toed along the rooftops to make sure she didn't make sound in case other minions were around tracking her as well.
The sound of footsteps were coming her way. She looked around to see which direction they were coming from and who they belonged to.
Dingodile suddenly emerged from the shadows along the building she was walking upon. He didn't take his eyes off her as he charged up his flamethrower.
Coco breathed deeply to keep herself calm. She look behind to see if it was safe to run when suddenly, Craig emerged from darkness, his cattle prod firmly grasped in his hands.
"There is no where to run or hide." The human assistant replied lowly.
"The only one that can save you now is death itself." Dingodile replied, walking closer and closer to her.
"Come on Coco think, there must be a way to outthink them, just think and hurry!" The gears in the little girl's mind were turning a mile a minute. What could be done?
Meanwhile, The double header had caught up to Crash, swinging their clubs.
Crash grinned. "I'm behind you." The bandicoot snuck behind them.
The assistant turned sharply to try and attack the bandicoot but Crash naturally moved out of the way quickly.
The assistant turned quickly doing a flip, swinging their clubs at Crash's legs. The bandicoot saw this and double jumped ahead running off. He noticed another assistant blocking the path.
"I've got you now bandicoot." She exclaimed as she tried to pick up her sword. Naturally it was way to heavy. The assistant just looked at the weapon.
"We're you supposed to cut me in half or something?" Crash asked.
"Yeah sort of."
"You do realize this is a huge fail?"
"I sort of did realize this, yes." The assistant growled.
"You suck…"
The assistant's eyes furrowed, gripping the sword tightly in her hands.
"I mean you really didn't do anything. I mean you're one of Cortex's dangerous lab assistants and you can't even swing a sword."
"Run away…now!" The assistant replied in a low voice.
"Why because you can't accept the fact that you fail?" Crash laughed, grinning with his tongue hanging out.
The assistant screamed and with all her strength, swung the sword in a full 360 degree circle.
The assistant regained composure, smirking.
"That's what I call strength bandicoot." Then she noticed Crash, without a scratch.
"You didn't even hit me."
The assistant groaned.
The two headed assistant came running in the distance.
"Now I take my leave… Peace!" Crash ran off.
The double header came running by.
"He's right, you do fail." The left head said with cheeky grin.
"Dicks… You guys go get him then." The assistant growled.
Meanwhile back in the world of the Arabian nights. Coco's mind was turning as she thought about how she was going to get past Dingodile and Craig.
She noticed an opening closer to where Dingodile was. If she could get past him, she would be able to get back down to the ground and run off into the shadows.
Craig charged up his cattle prod and was about to ram it into her side; but at the very last second, she slid right under the hybrid. Coco then saw the clothes lines and quickly used them to make her way back down and running back into the shadows of the streets.
Coco didn't dare to stop running. She could feel the signal of the crystal and two of the gems near by.
The small girls strategy now was to run in the shadows to avoid detection.
The night was silent and all the girl could here was her heart pounding in her chest. Throughout the adventure, this quite relevant and the rate she was going, Coco was surprised that her heart didn't explode.
She looked behind her to see if anyone was following it was clear but the small girl kept running, there always could be someone there.
Suddenly, the crystal and gems came into her view. She was about to go and grab them when Craig jumped right in front of her.
"How did you get here so fast!?" Coco asked, surprised.
"Speed is of the essence, but silence is the key to capture. I was one step ahead of you the entire time. I knew where the prizes were so I knew to come and wait for you."
"And I'm taking them with me"
"If you can that is…" Craig charged his prod.
Coco looked back at the treasure then back to Craig. The assistant charged toward her. The tiny girl felt her instincts kick in when she kicked Craig right in the safe deposit box.
Craig let high pitched howl before crumpling.
"My manhood!" He whimpered in high pitch voice.
Coco giggled at his misery before taking her prizes and disappearing into the portal.
Craig continued whimpering on the ground before he heard a dark chuckle above him. He looked up to see Dingodile standing over him.
"Looks like the shelia gave you the run around." The monster said looking down at him in amusement.
"Just take to me to Dr. N. Gin; I think my count has completely lowered."
Dingodile chuckled again before teleporting them away.
Meanwhile, Crash was nearing the castle gates with the a crystal and gem waiting for him.
Crash looked behind him to see the double headed assistant had completely slowed down.
Crash stopped right in front of his prizes when he noticed the enemy collapse.
"So that's it?" Crash asked, grinning widely.
"Just take them and get out of here. I can't take this dude's body odor anymore." The right head complained, panting for breath.
"You don't smell any better either." The other head muttered.
Crash laughed triumphantly as he grabbed the goods and teleported away.
Crash found himself back in the hub when he noticed Coco grinning ear to ear and Pura bouncing around her.
"Why are you so happy?" The older bandicoot asked.
"I just kicked that Craig where the sun don't shine."
"Good one! Some girl failed miserably; couldn't even swing her sword at me."
The siblings noticed all the coordinates were replaced with one coordinate that looked like it would send them to the heart of the time twister.
"All right! It looks like I'm going to have deal one of Cortex's goons, probably that . You wait here, I'll get him."
"Okay then." Coco sighed as she sat down with Pura resting her head on the little girl's lap."
Crash jumped through the portal.
I personally enjoyed the part where Coco kicked Craig in the balls. I liked how the chapter played out with the light and dark perspectives.
But for now, Read and Review.
