I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SORRY!

I had a really bad writers block... there were so many different ways i wanted to go but i couldn't work out how to get there with this chapter and writing some of the parts in this chapter were really hard since it just felt weird writing it... I'm sorry if this chapter isn't as good as previous ones... i promise the next one will be awesome! But it will also be the last chapter to this story, i had an idea of making it a few years into the future but i couldn't get it to work so i re-wrote this chapter over and over... it's not going to be in the future like my original idea but it will still be good!

Please review and let me know what everyone thinks about this one!

*Last time* (I know you all probably remember this part but i just felt like adding it and going from there with where Pan's point went as well.)

'I can't... I've made such a fool out of myself already... he'll never love me... I've ruined everything... whatever chance i may have ever had... what am i saying? I'm an idiot... our friendship is screwed up now because... because... I've been so stupid... i can't face him... i won't face him... they can't make me...' Pan thought... slightly like a crazy person... she quickly looked around herself, she seen they were stopped and there wasn't much traffic near them. 'I'm sorry Bra... Marron... I'm too scared to do this... i can't do it...' and without another thought she grabbed her bag and burst out the car door.

"PAN!?" both Bra and Marron yelled as they realised what she was doing but it was too late. The back door had already been slammed shut and Pan was already halfway up the street.

Pan's legs took her further than anyone would have guessed. Once she stopped and had calmed herself down a little bit did she only just realise where she had ended up.

'Why do i always come here?' She sighed to herself as she walked over to a seat at the edge of the main bowl at the skate park.

She sat down, closed her eyes and sighed. 'Why does everyone want to keep pushing this... can't they see how much I'm hurting? He doesn't love me... who'd love a pathetic tomboy like me...' Pan was pulled out of her thoughts as she heard a familiar voice... one she really didn't want to run into... not now or ever again...

"Like I've already told you girls, i need to find a really hot guy to show up to prom with to get back at Trunks and that stupid ugly TP... my popularity is on the line now after that embarrassment earlier." Pan rolled her eyes 'of course that's the only thing she's worried about... did she even like my Trunks? Shouldn't she be hurt that he doesn't like her? No of course not a girl like her is only worried about her reputation... wait... did i just say my Trunks? ... He's not mine and never will be...' Pan felt an ache in her heart as she watched Chrissy and her friends walk over to one of the main groups that were always here, she was happy Chrissy and her friends hadn't noticed her, she thought about quietly making a run for it away from her but she was curious about how Chrissy would convince one of these guys to go to a random prom with her.

She couldn't hear them talking from where she sat but she didn't mind, getting any closer could be suicide so she was happy just to watch and see.

"Hey," Pan was slightly startled to realise someone had come and sat down next to her while she'd been distracted. "Sorry," he gave her an apologetic smile when he realised he'd scared her. "So what brought you here today?" he asked while fiddling with one of the wheels on his board.

Pan stayed silent for a few minutes trying to work out what to tell this guy, sure they'd shared a few friendly smiles and waves while she'd been here with the others but they'd never properly spoken before. She smiled at him, "In all honesty i don't really know why i came here..." she sighed and then looked back to Chrissy and her friends laughing and baiting their eyes at the guys.

"So... who do you reckon is going to fall for her twisted charm?" he asked after a few minutes more of silence.

"I don't know their names..." Pan replied while his question ran through her head making her look between each guy to see who'd be Chrissy's prey. "I reckon the guy in the grey cap is going to be Chrissy's target."

"Oh so you actually know her." Pan was puzzled with the way he seemed to freeze after she'd said Chrissy's name.

Giving him a questioning look "I've had a few bad run ins with her." After a small pause she added. "She goes to my school." to herself 'i don't see the point in telling him about all my heartache... i still don't know his name...'

"Oh so you've been under the wrath on her bad side too." He relaxed again. "She's actually my next door neighbour..."

"I feel your pain." Pan placed her hand on her heart for dramatic effect before bursting out laughing. "By the way my name's Pan." She held out her hand for him to shake.

"I'm Kaliem." He took her handshake and smirked at her, for some odd reason it had Pan feeling butterflies in her stomach. He turned and looked back at Chrissy and her friends. "Want to know what they're saying?"

"I'm not getting any closer... I've had enough shit from her i don't need no more..." Pan violently shook her head to say no.

"She really pulled a number on you didn't she?" Kaliem raised an eyebrow at her. "Don't worry, we don't have to get any closer." He smiled at her again. "I'm a lip reader." Something about his following grin told Pan that it was just a joke. "So... want to know what they're saying?" he asked again.

Playing along Pan smiled, "Sure mister almighty lip reader."

Turning back to watch Chrissy and putting on a rather high pitch voice, "Oh my! You look like, you know... one of those pro skaters. You wanna make out? I'm easy you know" After a few minute and Pan cracking a smile. "You must be so popular at your school, did you know I'm one of the popular girls at my school... oh and I'm a cheerleader."

At this point Pan decided to join in; putting on a deeper voice she began lip reading what the guy was saying back. "Yeah you know, I'm actually a jock and just skate in my spare time... i like cheerleaders what are you up to later on today?"

Kaliem laughed at Pan's lip reading skills. "Oh you know, my schedule is fairly full, i have to go shopping for 3hours in a little bit... but i may be able to squeeze you in before my date at 6.30"

"Oh really, well i really want to get into your pants so that'll have to do." Just at that moment the guy in the grey cap began scratching his head looking slightly confused... making Pan's lip reading seem all the more believable which ended up with both of them bursting out laughing.

Suddenly one of Chrissy's friends looked over to the laughing pair, Pan's eyes widened as she seen the blonde approach Chrissy to whisper in her ear, "Oh crap! Got to run!" Pan hurriedly said picking up her bag as she began running in the direction of home.

"Pan! Wait up!" Kaliem called out chasing after her on his skateboard. "PAN! Watch out!"

Pan turned and looked as she ran out onto the road only then to see the car heading right towards her, she could hear the sound of breaks screeching but the loudest thing in her ears was the sound of her own heart, she couldn't get her legs to move she felt frozen on the spot watching the pearl grey four door Subaru wagon heading right for her.

Pan closed her eyes waiting for the impact, she felt herself hit something, 'I'm sorry everyone i guess i was never meant to be with Trunks in the end...' Pan felt her back hit the ground... but wait wasn't that the sound of breaks still screeching to a stop... and what was that warmth that was wrapped around her?

Pan opened her eyes but all she could see was red, it was only as that red moved that she realised it was Kaliem's shirt she looked up and met his deep hazel eyes.

"Watch where you're going, you punk kids!" The grey haired old man yelled out of his car window before driving off.

"Are you alright?" Kaliem asked as he sat up a little, still looking into Pan's eyes, worried about her.

Pan couldn't speak, she was too shocked, as Kaliem moved away she realised she'd had a tight grip on his shirt, surprised that she hadn't noticed when she grabbed a hold of him she let go immediately. Only to find out just how much she was shaking, she balled her hands into fists and took a couple of deep breaths.

Pan looked back up to Kaliem and nodded her head, "Th-thanks," she managed with a shaky smile.

He stood up and held out his hand to her, once standing Pan took in the rest of her surroundings, Chrissy and everyone that was standing with her, were watching Pan and Kaliem.

"Maybe we should make a move before one of them decides to come over?" Kaliem asked nodding in the direction of the gathering group. Pan could only nod in response and followed after Kaliem as he took the lead.

They headed to a local deli, Kaliem went in while Pan sat at a few seats out the front, Kaliem came back out with a drink for each of them.

"Thanks" Pan smiled up at him as she accepted the offered drink. "And again thanks for back there, if you hadn't have been there..."

"Pan don't think too much on it, the main thing is that neither you nor i got hurt..." Kaliem paused for a second. "But you probably wouldn't have freaked out and ran out in front of that car if i hadn't have gotten you stay there in the first place."

"Don't start thinking like that, you actually cheered me up." Pan smiled at him.

After a few minutes of silence, while both were drinking their drinks and thinking, they heard the approach of a skateboard on pavement. Pan's eyes widened in shock as her eyes fell on the mop of purple hair heading in her direction.

Noticing her shocked expression, and the direction she was looking, Kaliem realised who it was on the skateboard. "Pan do you want to come to a party with me tonight?" he blurted out

Pan blinked a few times trying to register what Kaliem had asked but also trying to work out the lost and depressed expression on Trunks' face as he rolled past them seeming not to even notice her there. "Um, a party? I dunno... I've never actually been to one." Pan started to blush as she looked over to Kaliem.

"Well now's the perfect time for you to go to one! Come on it'll be fun" Kaliem winked and grinned at her. Pan started feeling butterflies in her stomach, completely forgetting she'd just seen Trunks.

"I... I guess i could go for a little while..." nervously Pan looked back at the can in her hands. "But i should ask my parents first really..."

"Great I'll walk you home!" Kaliem jumped to his feet, grabbed Pan's hand and helped pull her up.

Pan could feel herself blushing as Kaliem continued to hold her hand as they began walking. 'Get a grip... he's only being friendly... what's happening to me... I've never felt like this before with anyone other than Trunks... but he's never held my hand...' Thinking about Trunks seemed to make something click in Pan's brain and she quickly looked back in the direction Trunks had been heading but it was too late he was already long gone.

"What's wrong Pan?" Kaliem asked looking down at her, knowing she'd been looking back to where her friend had gone.

"I was... i was just wondering about Trunks..." Pan sighed, felt Kaliem squeeze her hand as if to say go on. "He just looked so down and i was wondering if it was because of me..."

"Why would it have something to do with you?" Kaliem asked, even though he had a fair idea what and why. He'd seen the way Pan had looked at the purple haired guy and had seen the way he'd snuck looks back at her when he thought no one else was watching when they were in the skate park.

"Well i screwed up our friendship... I've had a crush on him for a very long time and... and... " Pan began blushing even harder as she remembered their kiss. "Everything's just in ruins now..." after a pause, "He was dating Chrissy for a while as well..."

"What he picked that bitch over you?" Kaliem acted shocked but he already knew that Chrissy had been clinging to the guy for a while. Pan nodded slightly, "Don't worry Pan, i won't leave you like that jerk did."

Pan's head shot up, "Trunks isn't a jerk!" she said while frowning at Kaliem.

"Sure... he's not one... he just let you be picked on by Chrissy, didn't notice how you felt about him, just used you until he didn't need you anymore and let's not forget he just skated past you without even saying anything to you before." Kaliem patted Pan's shoulder sympathetically.

Pan was silent for a while; Kaliem didn't want to disturb her thoughts while she was scowling at the ground like she was. Pan eventually let out a sigh. "I really need to get my mind off of all of this..."

"That's why i believe this party is a great idea for you" Kaliem grinned at her again. "Parties are the best distractions."

Pan smiled back at him. "Thanks." She then stopped walking and pointed to her house. 'This is my place; did you want to come inside while i ask my parents if it's alright to go tonight? It could help them say yes if they know who I'm going with."

Kaliem shrugged his shoulders, "Sure." And followed Pan up the path.
