Nina
The day after the hunt gone wrong I decided to keep Cleo home. I don't need hunters after her, with me not there. Maybe I'll just keep her home in general.
The hunters are good, while I'm evil. I kill more than others. My pack started a new generation of evil vampires. The vampire council can't shut us down either, but they'll try anything. I went into my fridge. A blood, B blood, C blood, AB blood. I licked my fangs and pulled out two hospital bags of C.
"Mommy, can I have juice?" Cleo asked.
"Come here a second baby," I said. Just because we took her hunting doesn't mean that she knows that she's a vampire. She entered the kitchen. "Drink this," I hand her the blood in her sippy cup.
"What is it?" She asked looking at the blood.
"Fruit punch," I lied.
"Thank you," She said going back to the living room. Fabian came down to the kitchen and I handed him a coffee cup. He kissed my head.
"We need more food," Fabian said.
"It's hard to find foods that use blood. If I cook meat rare then that works but I don't know what to do about anything else," I said. We try to keep Cleo eating like normal kids, well normal for her is having a rare steak each night.
"I know, and you're doing a great job," Fabian said grabbing my waist.
"Damn, straight," I said.
"I have to go meet up with the rest of our big family," He said.
"Okay, I'll try and find better foods," I said.
"Thanks, Nins," He said.
"Have fun at the meeting," I said.
"Because it's soooo much fun to fight off the whole system of vampires," He said. I giggled and kissed his cheek. With that he left the house. I took my "coffee" and sat with Cleo in the living room. She was watching Blues Clues.
"Mommy, I'm bored," Cleo said. I sighed and put my phone away.
"Let's go to the store," I said.
"Can I have more punch?" She asked.
"Just take mine," I said handing her my cup. I picked her up then carried her to the car. England's cool weather hit me as I stood outside. England's a good place to hide as vampires. People are generally pale. No that doesn't mean all of England are vampires, it's just a lot of vampires.
"Mommy do you drink this punch?" Cleo asked.
"Yes," I said.
"I thought you said you don't drink juice,"
"This is special juice. For big girls and boys,"
"Does Daddy drink it?"
"Mmhmmm,"
"What's it called?" What's with all these questions? I thought for a second.
"Ruby red,"
"What's in it?"
"Iron," She make a gagging noise.
"Ewww that's gross, that metal," She said.
"It ruins through, peoples veins," I said. "Not people like us," I muttered under my breath.
"Like blood?" Cleo gasped. Dammit.
"No, sweetheart. Iron is good for you. It makes you strong, it's in vegetables too," I said.
"Oh so it's vegtables," She said.
"Yes," I lied.
"I like vegetables," She said.
"I know you do," I said taking a deep breath. She's a very questionable child. I know she isn't average but I'm trying to give her a normal life. Even if a normal life includes icky vegetables. What I'm a 20,000 year old vampire? Vegetables aren't needed. But no Fabian says we need to be normal, and normal people eat vegetables.
I was pulled from my thoughts as a car pulled out in front of me, about to crash. I hissed, at the driver and they froze. Suddenly they hit the car beside them. I heard Cleo gasp.
"It's okay," I promised.
"No, because I thought that was going to happen," Cleo said. Shit she's using her powers on accident.
"Its just a coincidence, just drink more juice," I said. I tapped on the steering wheel worried. This is bad she can control people that are in different places than she is. I can't even do that and I'm considered very powerful. She's like this at four what will she b by 4,000? This is crazy
Been a while and I couldn't figure why I was blocked so I just trashed last chapter replacing it with this one.
