There is gallons and tons of nostalgia running through me right now. This is the last chapter :'), More to say at the bottom! Also there is an abundance of tfios references in here... not even sorry.

Disclaimer: For the last time, on this story, I DONT OWN BIG TIME RUSH SADLY

"C'mon Logan," I mutter. "Your shift ended twenty minutes ago."

What could he be doing in there? I hope he didn't expect me to wait much longer because that isn't going to happen. I would go into Starbucks and get him, but I haven't been in there since the accident last year.

Logan saw his brother again for the first time in years. When E.J didn't believe him, Logan tried to prove it to him and he freaked and pulled out a gun. The gun slipped out of his hand, went off when it hit the ground, and shot me above my left hip. I passed out almost immediately and woke up hours later in a hospital.

*11 months earlier

My body felt like I had been asleep for a thousand years. My back was stiff, my throat was dry and my head hurt like hell. Waking up was weird, it felt like I'd come back to life. I opened my eyes then squinted at the light. I felt something or someone holding my right hand. I thought it might be Katie, but this hand was to big to be hers. It could have been Mrs. Mitchell's but it felt to strong to be a woman's. I looked over and saw Logan sitting right next to the bed. One hand under his chin, the other had a firm grip on my hand. With all my might, and squeezed his hand as hard as I could. Nothing. With my other hand, I reached over and knocked his fist out from under his chin.

Almost immediately he woke up. His head popped up and his red eyes looked confused. He'd been crying. His gaze landed on me and he smiled a little.

"Hey." He said.

I tried to answer back but instead was met with a croak. My throat was to dry to even speak. Logan held up a glass of water to my mouth and I took it generously. He sat the glass down then looked back to me.

"How do you feel?" he asked.

"Like I've been shot by a mad man." I said quietly.

He laughed a little. "That's one way to put it. Do you remember anything? After you got shot I mean."

"I-I don't know. All I heard was a lot of crying and yelling, then I blacked out. I'm pretty much lost after that."

"Yeah, I understand, well nothing worth remembering. The gun dropped to the ground, a few seconds later you went crashing down while E.J fled the area. I started screaming for Chris to call 911,and then I looked down to see you passed out at my feet. I tried relentlessly to wake you up, but nothing was happening. By the time the paramedics got there I was a hot mess. They drove off with you and I sped home to tell mom and Katie. Now I'm here."

"I'm sorry."

"I'm not." Logan stated. "I got to say everything I needed to, even if the person I was telling it to didn't give two shits about me in the first place."

We both laughed a little and I yawned.

"Are you tired?"

I nodded.

"You should get some sleep, it's been too long of a day for the both of us." He said gripping my hand even tighter. I nodded and closed my eyes slowly. Before I fell asleep, I heard him whisper something I don't think I'll ever forget.

"Thank you for not dying, 'cause I don't know what I'd do without my brother."

The next morning when I woke up again, I didn't ask him about what he said. I wanted to keep it to myself in case he hadn't meant for me to hear it. Now my so called brother was pissing me off with how late he is.

I pulled out my phone and called James, he had to know where he is.

"Hello?"

"Hey, James it's Kendall, have you by any chance seen my roommate in the last two hours?"

"Logan? Nope I haven't seen him since this morning. Why?"

"Cause, I'm supposed to pick him up from work, but he's twenty minutes late, do you know where he could be?"

"Not a clue, look I gotta go, but I'll see you later okay? Bye."

"Yeah, see you later." I hung up and sighed. I didn't want to go in there, but I didn't have many other choices. I stepped out of my car and took a deep breath. I couldn't avoid going in there forever.

I got to the door and pulled it open. The smell of coffee beans and sweetener immediately filled my nostrils. Everything looked the same, but it felt different. I knew it would. I saw Chris standing at the counter, wiping it down with a dingy rag.

"Good afternoon, welcome to Starbucks can I..." He looked up, saw me and smiled a little. "Oh hey, Kendall. Long time no see. How have you been?" The last time I saw Chris was right before I got out of the hospital, so this has been long drawn out.

"Pretty good, I mean I walk a little funny sometimes,but that's expected." I said.

He laughed a little. "Yeah, that would make sense. Do you want something?"

"Uh no actually I'm looking for my acquaintance, is Logan still here?"

"Nope, he left an hour ago, said he had something important to take care of."

"Dammit Logan." I muttered. I told myself that once I found him, he'd get a serious ass-kicking. "I'm going home then, I'll see you later Chris." I walked out the door and back to my car. I pulled out of the parking lot and drove back home. I walked through the front door and was met with complete silence. All of the lights were off and no sounds were being made.

"Logan? Joanna? Katie... is anyone home?" I yelled walking into the kitchen. On the small table in front of me was a note. Check the backyard it read. With the note in hand I walked out the back door. I didn't even get both feet out the door before I heard people yelling.

"Surprise!" A group of people yelled. I looked up in shock and was met with the faces of numerous people. Most of the hockey team, Logan's aunt and Uncle's, Joanna, Katie, James and Carlos were all standing there clapping and cheering. Logan came walking towards me with a huge grin on his face.

"You didn't think I'd actually let your 18th birthday go by unnoticed, did you?" He said wrapping a friendly arm around my shoulder.

"Just a little." I said with a slight chuckle.

Logan went above and beyond with everything. There was a DJ, a huge table with all my favorite foods, and the pretty girl from my English class was there too. He planned everything.

An hour later the party was in full swing. Everyone was dancing and laughing and having a good time, even me. At one point Joanna called me over to talk to her, Logan and Katie were there to.

Katie was all smiles. I still think about when Joanna sat her down and told her about Dad. She believed he was gone after that. Katie cried for days, and it made my heart hurt every time. But now she accepted it, of course she misses him, I do too, but we can talk about the happy times before foster care.

"We wanted to ask you something?" Joanna said. The three of them were all beaming with happiness, which made me feel like I was missing out on something.

"Okay what?"

"We were wondering if you would like to get adopted?"

My heart stopped. "W-What?"

"Now I understand you're eighteen, which does mean you're a legal adult, and I kn-."

"Yes." I interrupted. "Yes yes and a thousand times yes."

With that Katie wrapped her arms around me and I picked her up and spun her around. "We're going to have a family again." she said happily.

"You got that right baby sister." I whispered to her. I put her down and hugged Joanna, she could never replace my mom, but she was a close second.

I looked over at Logan who looked like he'd witnessed miracle.

"You and me are going to be brothers." I said.

"I thought we already were."

I nodded and stepped forward and hugged him, like really hugged him.

"You're welcome."

"For what?" he asked.

"For not dying."

His brow crinkled in confusion and then a second later he laughed. "Oh god you heard that?"

"Yeah I did. And honestly I'm honored." I told him. And just like that, I had had the best birthday ever.

*3 weeks later

"All of these papers seem to be correct. With the power invested in me under the state of Minnesota, I pronounce Katie and Kendall Knight here by adopted."

It's official. As of 3:04 this afternoon, Katie and I are officially part of the Mitchell family. Kendall and Katie Knight-Mitchell, it has a nice ring to it.

We're back at the house now. Joanna decided to hold a big get together with the family afterwards. Now there are twenty million different family members standing in our living room because it's far too cold to stand outside. James and Carlos got to come as honorary members, even if they're practically part of the family anyways. After a while, Logan stood up in the middle of the room and started talking.

"Hey, can I have your attention for a few minutes please?" It got quieter. "Thank you. Now I know I'm normally a man of few words, but I wanted to say something about my new family."

He pulled a wrinkled piece of paper from his back pocket, and then began talking.

"If you had asked me ten years ago, who my favorite person in the world was, I would've said superman or maybe my dad. Because when your eight, they seem like the same person." Some people laughed. "If you had asked me when I was ten, I would've said E.J or Carlos, because he gave me his cookie at lunch once. But now things are different. Now at 18 if you asked me who my most favorite person in the world is, I would say Kendall. Not because he has superpowers or because he gave me anything but because we're brothers. We're partners in crime and I'd pay his bail any day of the week. Sometimes being a brother is even better than being a superhero. In fact, having a brother is the best gift of all.

"I've always heard that there's no place like home, but never understood it until now. I believe that when you're at home, it means you're with your family. As of today, we have new members in our family, and I'm so glad to say welcome home to Kendall and Katie."

Without any hesitation, I stood up, crossed the room and hugged Logan as hard and tight as I could. He is greatest brother a guy could ask for. And I'm so happy, that he's mine.

"I love you, dude." He said in my ear.

"I love you too." I replied, pulled away and looked him in the eye. "And I promise I'm never going to leave you, okay?"

"Okay." He nodded. I put my arm around his shoulder and smiled.

Katie and I came here without a lot of choices left. Yet, I am so glad that this family was one of them.
