Gohan briskly walked down the halls. Alana was leaving to day. She stayed the night and so did his brother Goten. Gohan was pissed to say the least. The executioner and the man who killed Alana's mom end up dying in the middle of the night trying to escape. Gohan tried to save them. He honestly did, but he learned that there was no cure for stupidity. They tried to leave the tower in the hospital wing and fell into the pit of sludge. Even though, they thought they could escape once when a person signs their life into the Ox Military there is no escape from the Ox Military, especially from a dangerous hospital.
Gohan made his way into the tea room to see Alana sitting and looking out towards the window. She was watching the military train. She was content to say the least knowing that the man who killed her mother is dead. She didn't like the way he died. It wasn't by her hand, rather than his stupidity caused it. She was at least going home somewhat happy. She missed her twins. They were rambunctious but they knew when to behave. They weren't trained to fight. It was something she needed to work on. She needed to reestablish her own rules. Her people are not taking her seriously. She needs to be more like her mother. She needed to find a way to rule with pride of the Lions and gentle as a cub. She was nothing like her mother. She was more brash and headstrong. She was thankful to her husband. He was kindhearted. She was lucky to meet him. He told her stories of a young boy that saved him and his father. She learned his name was Goku. The father of the prince in front of her. She wondered what happened to make him so... melancholy. She remembered a time when she could see his eyes. She could recall a time when he had a goofy grin on him. Now, it's different. She saw him as bitter and cold towards this world. He wasn't a kid anymore. She saw him as a warrior bent on destruction, as if he could destroy anything with his finger. She knew Goku could do many things. Perhaps Gohan could as well. She was once one of his training partners, but learned he surpassed her years ago. Goten, on the other hand looked like he just wanted to train and get stronger to protect. He didn't look like a fighter at all. He looked more passive than the entire family. It was early for her to tell. He was still young. She could clearly see him training with the military though. It looked like the trainees were trying to chase him down. It was clear evident that the kid could out run them all. It looked silly at first, but what does she know about the training regime of the Ox Military. She turned around and saw Gohan entering the room.
"Goten is out there."
"I sent him out to train them. It's a little game we like to call. "Catch that kid." Goten is pretty fast and it's suppose to boost their cardio and strength. They are wearing weighted clothing."
"Oh I see.. Is that why he has an advantage?"
"No. Goten is wearing weighted clothing. There is no way that they will ever catch him. Unless they outsmart him."
"I see..."
"Your copter has arrived to take you home."
"Thank you. It's been a pleasure staying here."
"If you don't mind I'll be getting in touch with you about arrangements for my coronation when Upa and I decide on a date."
"That's fine with me."
Gohan and Alana walked through the halls.
"Gohan... if you have time... I was thinking maybe my kids should train under you. I can teach them the basics but for more... Maybe you can teach them."
"I'm not sure if I could. My mother put me in school. The only tome I could would be during holidays... maybe. I can train them with Goten and Trunks..."
"The Brief's son?"
"Yeah. Vegeta and I train both the kids."
"That's cool. I think when you become king we will work well together. Don't you think?"
"Yes. Maybe you can help me. Here sometime toward the end of the week before I leave... I want to bring every one together to re-establish the empire of Chioatzu. They've been under our care for so long with it collapsing from the fire and General Tao. I think it's time to build it back up."
"I bet Chioatzu will like that. He hasn't been to anything since the fall. He wasn't at our meeting. He was erased from the history books too..."
"Not necessarily erased. He has a chapter in our book titled the lost empire. It was that it was so new and fell so fast that there isn't much to talk about. Plus the emperor has been training his mind he rarely checks on his people because because he knows they are in good hands."
"The only problem I have with that is that they were originally in my territory. I have small enough land as it is..."
"That's why I want to call a meeting. Along with my mother. I bet she's willing to give up some of our land in Mount Paozu. We basically have that to ourselves. Since the empire of Mifan is so small we can probably fit them. So you guys can have more room we should just level the ruins and give you half of that and they keep the other half that goes to Mt. Paozu. I've thought about this for awhile and that's my solution..."
"My mother has been wanting to level that place for so long but could never find the emperor to ask."
"He's a pretty solitary guy. He doesn't even come around much."
"Oh I see...again.. it's been a nice stay here Gohan. I'll contact you when I find a date."
"Alright."
Alana boarded her copter and left back to her tribe. Gohan watched her until he couldn't see her anymore. He pulled his hair back into a high pony tail and went to the training grounds to observe. He watched the trainees try fruitless attempts to catch his brother. They were dripping in sweat and out of breath where as Goten was in great condition. One man saw the Prince and immediately froze. He gave everyone the attention that the Prince was on site. They stopped immediately and gave a bow. Gohan put them at ease. Goten jumped from the tree and bounced out, and ran up to his brother. Clearly the game was over.
"Sergeant when was the last time everyone had a break. As in take showers, contact home, and write letters.
"About three weeks your majesty."
"Tell them to take a break for today. They are allowed to take off their weighted clothing, but sometime today they need to take them in to get heavier ones. They can use phones to call home. They can write a letter to home if needed as well. Take them all to the castle later for a nice meal. They've all been working hard, and therefore they deserve to be rewarded. They have more years to go before they can call themselves true members of the Ox Military. As for now they need rest. Give them rest every two weeks. We don't need them to strain or overworked. Ready Goten? We have homework... studying... and coronation training to do."
Goten frowned. He didn't want to study or do coronation he just wanted his brother to hang out with him. Goten took off with his brother.
School was boring as usual for Videl. No crime, just notes. Not even Erasa had gossip. She was filing her nails. Sharpener was napping. The instructor lectured on and on over the Foxes. He was talking about details for their oncoming field trip...
"This field trip will be momentous class. We will get to tour the castle, see the historical side of the Foxes. They have one of the largest museums in the world. We will be attending a wedding, so bring nice clothes. It will be a night to remember. The Fox Prince Jeremiah will be coming to the school to go over protocol and whatever else we will be needing to enjoy our trip. It will be coming up soon."
Videl honestly didn't feel comfortable to be around Jeremiah. He rubbed her the wrong way. She could see that he bothered Gohan. Who was the Lime girl that Jeremiah had mentioned. Was she someone the Gohan knew. From the way he demeanor was... maybe they once dated. She didn't know. Gohan never really opened up to anyone. Maybe his mother and his little brother. He was a closed book. She wanted him to open up. She worried if he kept it bottled he would just explode. Videl didn't know though. Maybe he was born that way... It didn't make sense to her though. His brother was so happy, so full of life. What if Gohan had a harsher upbringing than Goten? Maybe Gohan was abused and Goten wasn't. She had to know.
"Okay Class, we will be moving on to the Tribe of The Lioness here soon. It's a big chapter. That's where the Cell Games took place. The Battle of Demon King Piccolo took place there. We have Korin's tower to cover. General Tao and the Red Ribbon army is there. We will also be studying the Rise and Fall of the Empire of Mifan. We will start with Korin's Tower, then move on to Piccolo, then General Tao and the Red Ribbon Army, Mifan Empire, then finally the Cell Games. We will have some witness accounts of the Cell Games to come and share their stories of what happened that day. This includes our world hero, Hercule coming for a visit!"
Videl sighed, another obnoxious story she's heard a million times. Least she had plenty of doodle paper.
Goten was sweating. Gohan gave him extra hard work for him to learn. He wanted to train. That's why he was here. Well that and he had to get fitted for his clothes. Goten looked out the window. It was so alive outside. The birds were flying. He wanted to fly. He could fly. He could fly out of the window and not look back, but basic chemistry was preventing him from his outdoor endeavors. He could sense Gohan coming. Goten had to finish these last problems but he just couldn't figure them out!
"How's the work?"
"I don't get it."
Gohan grabbed Goten's homework.
"You're doing good. Don't worry about the last few problems. I threw those in and we haven't discussed it yet. Let's go train."
Chi Chi was bored. Her sons were gone. Bulma was in her lab. She was watching her father feeding the animals. She had a magazine on her lap. She was ready for her boys to be home. At least Goten kept her entertained. He brought her different species of bugs. He would then look for the name of the bug and tell her. He had a knack for learning outside of the books. She couldn't wait to go home. She wanted to show Goten everything there is out there. Her lands. She wanted to show him the parts of the woods that Gohan didn't know about. She figured that she could teach him about how the world worked. As for Gohan, she would let him teach Goten the book work.
"Hey dad. How do you think Gohan is managing the Kingdom?"
"I'm sure he's doing good. I have my personal servants that give me updates. He hasn't burned anything down yet. The execution was rather messing from what I heard. Nothing that Gohan couldn't handle. My servants were saying that he was definitely trained by my military. I didn't have the heart to tell them that he wasn't trained by my military, nor by me."
"He was trained to be a perfect killer, against what I wanted for him. He was thrown into a world where he didn't have a choice but to fight."
"He had a hard life, Chi, I'm probably making it harder by having him run the kingdom."
"Running your country isn't nearly as hard a saving the world father."
"That's true."
"I'm ready to go back to bed though. I'm tired."
The Ox King nodded. He picked up his daughter and made way back to her room.
"It's funny Chi Chi, I haven't held you like this since you were six. You were so demanding when you insisted that you didn't want to be held by me anymore."
"Very funny dad. If I could I'd walk on my own."
"I know you would. That's why I'm here. I'm here to build up your muscle mass again."
"Thanks dad. I'm sorry you took time away from your kingdom."
"For you Chi Chi I'd be willing to shut down my entire Kingdom for you if it could make you better."
"Don't be silly. Gohan would take it over in an instant."
"I hope after this week is over he would take it over when he becomes of age. I gave him this test run mainly to see if this is something he wants. I know he could rule, but I honestly don't think he has the heart. I see Gohan as more running my military, or see him just roaming this earth continuing his studies. He may want to be a doctor. A traveling doctor."
"He wants to be an orthopedist."
They both laughed.
"Gohan can be anything he wants to be. He deserves that. If he wants to bum around home. He can. He's done so much for this world, we owe it to him."
Gohan watched his brother sleep from a hard day of training. He was suppose to have him fitted for his coronation. That could wait though. It was months away. He still had his doubts about Goten. Especially with his energy spurts. Gohan wanted to wait until Goten was one hundred percent better. It was for the best. He would hate to start a dispute if Goten blew up someone's castle. He wouldn't mind if it was Jeremiah's castle, but that would cause harm to Lime, but still would be funny. It was going to be a restless night for Gohan. He could see Goten's breathing a little off. Gohan got up from bed. He grabbed the chair across the way, sat down put his elbow against his knees. His hands rested underneath his chin and watched his brother sleep. He sat there reminiscing the times he would watch Goten sleep. He stopped breathing so many times when he was younger. It was one of Gohan's biggest fears. His fear of losing someone again. He couldn't lose his little brother. That was one of the only things to keep him going. He was the good that Gohan had left in him. When Goten smiled it made Gohan smile. If Gohan had a choice he would have Goten live the life Gohan should have. It wasn't in the books though. Goten would have to be a warrior. He would have to fight. He would have to be ready for the next threat. Something told Gohan that that day would be coming soon.
The Prince knew he shouldn't be down here. Here he was in the old castle dungeon that was forbidden. This was were the demons were sealed. He just couldn't take it anymore. He found out that his two friends were coming on a school trip. That's when they told him Gohan would be attending this trip. He went to their school. Of course Gohan wasn't allowed to come to his nation, but if it's mandatory for school then the prince would have no choice but to show up. This was going to cause problems. He knew. He worked so hard to keep Gohan away from Lime. If he was to show up so close to his wedding day then everything would be ruined. He couldn't have Gohan ruin his wedding day and this was his resolve. Jeremiah put his hands on the seal and twisted. The seal was opening, flashing lights were escaping out from the seal. Jeremiah let go when the lid popped off.
"Must be pretty desperate to have opened the gate to the underworld."
Jeremiah was stunned to say the least. There was a demon in front of him. A dark red demon towering over him. Standing at 6'7'' horns coming out from the top of his head in a mohawk fashion, slanted yellow eyes, and long chiseled teeth. His hands were massive, his claws were a thick dark purple. He stood erect, his long arms made his hands nearly touch the ground. He had muscle.
"Yeah. I am. You see... There's this pest that's going to get in my way. I need him out of my life."
"Who might this pest be?"
"His name is Son Gohan. He's the Prince of the Ox Kingdom."
"Son Gohan. His name is quite big in the underworld. He's responsible for some of the biggest threats the Earth had to face and space. Well he and his father."
"Oh really. What has he done that was so great?"
"He killed Cell."
"No. Hercule Satan killed Cell."
"That's the biggest joke we have in the underworld. We make fun of Cell every time pompous ass is mentioned."
"So... Mr. Satan is lying to us?"
"Correct."
"Gohan defeated Cell."
"That's what Cell said. A brat by the name of Son Gohan bested him."
"That's not possible..."
"It's possible. Are you here to make a deal or what?"
"Yes. I need you to send your best to get rid of Gohan. Obviously stronger than Cell."
"So you want me to help you take out the a world hero to sooth your ego?"
"I'm willing to do anything to get him out of here."
"I'll tell you what. I'll look for someone for you. It may be awhile."
"That's fine with me. You got yourself a deal, Demon."
"Deal."
There was a storm brewing. Piccolo could sense it. He didn't know what was going on. He didn't know where it was happening. The clouds were turning gray. The world may not see it but he could. Trouble was coming and they needed to be prepared. Taking off into the sky he made his way to Capsule Corp. They've been training day in a day out and now it was time to fight. Piccolo just hoped that the boys were ready to fight. They were one fighter short with Goku gone. They needed everyone to be prepared.
Sorry this took so long. I seriously need to do better. Since most of you know I've been re inventing this story. I'm not sure if I want to do a Goku return or not. I have it set up in which he can and can't I'll set up and poll and let you guys vote! Until then!
