Blaine sat cross legged on the floor in Kurt's room. It was blisteringly hot outside and the pair had decided to come out of the sun for a while. Well, Kurt didn't like the sun so thay had spent about 10 minutes outside and about 4 hours inside. But Blaine was okay with that. He wanted Kurt to be happy and well, if Kurt was happy he was happy. Blaine watched as Kurt continued to pack things into boxes.

Kurt had spoken with his dad and had decided that even though he didn't get into NYADA, he was still going to go to New York. The news had been broken to Blaine just last night during dinner. However, Blaine struggled to be surprised by the news. He knew that despite Kurt's dramatics, he still had his entire life ahead of him. So, what if he didn't get into the only college he had applied for?

However, Blaine would be lying to himself if he said that everything was great for them. There was still the bubbling tension between them. At first Blaine had supposed that it had began with Blaine's forgotten birthday (Blaine still hadn't told Kurt that he had missed his birthday and Kurt still hadn't realized that he had forgotten Blaine's birthday), but then he realized that this discourse between them had been going on for much longer than that. The whole thing between Kurt and Chandler had highlighted some of the many problems in there relationship and Blaine knew that, despite Miss Pillsburys attempt at 'relationship' counselling, the relationship hadn't been right between them for while.

Blaine's phone buzzed in his pocket. He quickly grabbed and opened the message:

How's your first week of summer Killer? - Seb

Blaine quickly fired off a reply:

Pretty dull so far :-( How about yours? - Blaine

Blaine had been texting Sebastian everyday since the Warblers had thrown Blaine a party at Dalton. It was all harmless conversation, there wasn't really even a hint of flirting, however, it still made Blaine feel guilty. This was pretty much the same thing that Kurt had been doing with Chandler, wasn't it?

"Who're you texting?" Kurt asked flopping down on his bed above Blaine.

"Wes...he has a date with Santana tonight and he's freaking out..." It was only a half-lie really. Wes did have a date with Santana tonight (how on earth he had managed to get one was beyond Blaine) and Wes had been texting him earlier freaking out about it. But he wasn't currently texting Wes. So, it was really only half-a-lie. Wasn't it?

Kurt sat up on his bed and stared at Blaine, "I think we need to talk..."

Blaine twisted so that he was now facing Kurt, "About what?"

"This isn't really working..."

Meanwhile, in Westerville, Wes was pacing around inside of the little coffee that he was working in over the summer. Well, technically this coffee shop was one in the chain that belonged to Blaine's mom and technically he was doing Blaine a favor covering for him so Blaine could spend the day with Kurt (Wes had protested rather loudly at first but Blaine had pulled out his 'puppy' eyes). The shop was closed for the day now and so really Wes could whatever he liked with it. Although, he was pretty certain that if he was trying to have a date with anyone other than one of Blaine's closet friends, Blaine would have told him to get lost.

Wes had always loved the little coffee shop. He had never guessed that it was a part of large chain when he had first started frequenting the place when he was 13. That was in a time before he knew Blaine. The coffee shop had a homely feel with worn copies of books scattered around the tables. In one corner there was a small stage (on that stage was where Wes had first heard Blaine sing) and a small piano. The walls were littered with framed photographs of the Anderson Family from their travels around the globe. Wes' favorite picture was one of Blaine and his brother Cooper surfing in Hawaii. It was a picture that seemed to hide the troubles of their turbulent relationship and Blaine actually seemed happy in that picture. He loved this place.

He loved the free coffee and food he got more though.

Therefore, when Wes had discovered that Blaine had continued to frequent the Lima Bean even after they had finished their 'Operation Spy on the Competition', he was surprised. He knew that Blaine loved this little coffee shop. Wes remembered Blaine telling him how the shop in Westerville had actually been his Grandmother's and that Blaine had spent many days as a little kid sat in the booth in the corner reading. Then when Blaine's grandmother had died when he was 10, the coffee shop had been inherited by Blaine's mother. Blaine's mother had quickly and efficiently built up a chain of coffee houses. The newer chains were modern and less personal but still had many of the same great tasting coffees (many of the blends were unique to this little shop in Westerville though) and amazing food. Blaine's mother had wanted to protect this shop as she, just like Blaine, had spent days upon days sat in that same booth juts reading and chatting to customers.
So, it had really puzzled Wes when he heard that Blaine was turning down amazing free food and coffee, in exchange for the overpriced shocking excuse for coffee that the Lima Bean offered.

Wes was shaken out of his thoughts by the appearance of Santana in the Window. He had felt a little guilty about making Santana drive all the way out to Westerville for this date but she hadn't seemed to mind. Wes moved forward and pulled the door open making sure that the closed sign was on.

Santana smiled at Wes as she took in the table cloth with a reserved sign on it, "Is this like a Mafia thing?"

"Excuse me?"

"The whole coming in, special table, reserved sign. Are you gonna have to whack someone before the soup course?"

"No, I've filled my whacking quota for the week..." Wes cringes and glances up at Santana, "Wanky?"

Santana just offered him a wicked smirk and the nod of the head, "Wanky..."

"Thought so..."
