Look a new chapter!...it only took me five and a half months. I'm so sorry to all of my followers. A few weeks after I returned to college from winter break, I became depressed. I was trying to just focus on my school work and couldn't write much. This chapter was basically written over the past semester and was finished when I came home. My depression was so bad that I had to transfer schools for next year so I could stay home and have more support from my friends and family. Okay enough of my story, go on and read this one! For those who have read the first nine chapters already, you might want to reread them, I tweaked a few lines throughout them. I'll try to update every Friday from now on. If you don't see a new chapter on a Friday, feel free to message me and yell at me for it :) Reviews are welcomed and encouraged!

Chapter 10

"Dumbledore should have told you earlier about this, Remus," Hermione said to him the next day.

Remus was rushing around the library trying to find his old Defence of the Dark Arts lesson plans while Hermione was on the lounge chair reading. "He probably couldn't find anyone else and decided I was the only one left who he knew would say yes. It's not like I have anything else to do."

"Rubbish! You are a valuable asset to the Order," she protested, putting down her book.

"How exactly? Dumbledore and McGonagall run the Order. Kingsley is our contact in the Ministry. Hell, even Snape is more valuable than me."

"You don't give yourself enough credit, Remus."

Remus had found most of his notes and headed towards the door. "I have to go; Hogwarts staff meeting."

"Will you be okay?"

"I'll have to face them in 10 days anyways. Plus we have to work out the timetables," he stated walking out the door.

"We're not done talking about this!" she yelled after him.

xXx

Remus arrived at the staff meeting to see that everyone had already arrived besides the Headmaster. They all turned to look at him as he entered the room. Most of them, minus the Potions Master, looked at him like he was a wounded puppy. Well I kind of am, I suppose.

McGonagall got up and walked over to him. "How are you, Remus?"

Why does everyone keep asking me that? "I'm well. Thank you, Minerva."

"We are all pleased to have you back on the staff," McGonagall told him. I seriously doubt that.

The Headmaster walked in and Remus took a seat by McGonagall. "First, I'd like to welcome Remus back as the Defence professor…" The rest of the meeting consisted of them scheduling their classes around one another. Afterwards they dispersed though some stayed for tea. Remus decided to leave before anyone else could ask him how he was. As he was walking down the corridors he noticed that somehow the sixth years had two free periods on Fridays after his class. Oh the boys are going to be thrilled. Hmm they won't like having double Potions twice a week though. Just as that thought had passed through his mind, the professor of said class appeared out of nowhere almost giving Remus a heart attack. How does he do that?!

"Snape," Remus said as he tried to sidestep him.

"Not so fast, mutt," Snape said blocking his way. "I'm surprised to see that you took this position, seeing as everyone knows you're a monster."

"I'm surprised to see that you care. It's not like Dumbledore would ever give you the job."

"I couldn't care less if I got the job. I'd like to see a competent teacher teach it for once though."

"As if you care about the students' education."

"No, I'd actually just like to not be plagued by you for another year."

"Couldn't be any worse than the company you keep outside of work."

"Hardly."

"For your information, I took this job because I actually like teaching unlike you."

"Oh I'm sure that's the only reason you accepted."

"Sev-…"

"You should be being nice to me, mutt. The ministry, or rather Prophet, is only one Floo call away."

"Snape, please. Only a few people are privy to that information."

"Fine." I might find some entertainment out of this situation anyways. "You might just want to wait until she is of age before you go off rutting in a broom cupboard."

Remus arrived back to Grimmauld Place in a sullen mood. He walked into the kitchen to get something to drink to find Hermione reading (again)on the kitchen counter.

"How'd it go?" she asked, looking concerned.

"I didn't break down crying in front of my colleagues if that's what you mean," he snapped as he started looking for the Firewhiskey.

"Don't you sound cheerful? Let me guess, you talked to Snape," Hermione said.

"Yes, we exchanged a few words. He threatened to out me. Nothing different really," he replied, still looking for the bottle.

"Out us you mean…" Hermione whispered.

"He said he wouldn't but I don't really trust his word. If this is going to work we'll have to keep on his good side."

"He has a good side?" she joked.

"Where is this bloody Firewhiskey?" he asked still searching.

"I'd bet that's why Snape dropped by yesterday. He probably nicked your Firewhiskey without us seeing."

"Or maybe those Weasley twins of yours took it."

"Just as likely," she smiled. "Are we going to continue our conversation from earlier?"

Remus walked over to sit by her on the counter. "I suppose," he huffed.

"You need to start believing in yourself, Remus," she said, taking his hand.

"I know, I'm sorry," he replied, bowing his head.

She lifted his head up with her hand and looked into his eyes. "You have nothing to be sorry for. You've shown your strength even in these rough times."

He leaned forwards and kissed her lightly on the lips. "I would have gone insane if it wasn't for you, Hermione," he breathed.
