"Oh no," Twilight said worriedly looking at Nightmare Moon.
"Oh, my beloved subjects. It's been so long since I've seen your sun-loving faces," Nightmare said smirking.
"WHAT DID YOU DO WITH THE PRINCESS!?" Rainbow yelled trying to fly at her only to be stopped by Applejack holding her tail.
"Do you not know who I am? Have you heard the legends? Have you seen the signs?" Nightmare said flicking Rarity's chin with her gaseous mane.
"Uhhh, Hokey Smokes. Queen Meanie. No wait, Black Snooty! Black Snooty! BLa-mmmhhhmmmhhhhmmm, " Pinkie stopped, having an apple stuffed in her mouth by Applejack.
"I know who you are. You're the Mare in the Moon, Nightmare Moon," Twilight said pointing at Nightmare before shrinking back after everpony started looking at her.
"Oh. It seems somepony remembers me. Tell me, young unicorn, what is your name?" Nightmare Moon asked smiling.
"T-Twilight Sparkle," Twilight said nervously.
"Twilight Sparkle. I shall remember that name. Remember ponies, the night will last forever! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!" Nightmare laughed.
"Nah...," a voice said in front of Nightmare.
"Huh?" Nightmare asked looking ahead seeing Dark standing on the railing of the balcony.
"Don't get me wrong, I love the night time. I think it's truly a beautiful thing. But, no. I will not allow you to cause eternal night," Dark said.
"Oh? Who might you be, and how do you plan on preventing that, my young stallion?" Nightmare said smirking.
"The name's Dark Matter. And by doing this," Dark said headbutting her through the wall behind her.
Everypony gasped seeing Dark stand up to her without fear. Nopony could believe he was fighting her alone.
"Miss Twilight, I believe you should head to the library. You will find the answers there. In the mean time, I will hold back Nightmare," Dark told Twilight not looking at her.
Twilight didn't reply; she just nodded before galloping out of the townhall towards the library. After she arrived, she laid Spike down and started searching through the library for a book on the Elements of Harmony.
"Elements. Elements. Elements. Where is the book on the Elements of Harmony!?" Twilight yelled looking through dozens of books.
"Just what are the Elements of Harmony? And, how do you know about Nightmare Moon!?" Rainbow Dash asked, getting in Twilight's face.
"Wow there, sugarcube," Applejack said, "Ahm sure she has an explaination. Don't Ya, Twilight?"
"I had done all the research. Read all the signs. Nightmare Moon has returned, which you already know. The only way to stop her are the eight Elements of Harmony. Honesty, kindness, laughter, generosity, loyalty, faith, courage , and magic. I just can't find the book on them'" Twilight explained before looking down.
"The Elements of Harmony: The Reader's Guide," Pinkie said looking at a bookshelf.
"Where did you find that!?" Twilight said knocking her away.
"It was under E," Pinkie sang out.
Twilight grabbed the book and placed it on a stand. She started reading the book quickly after opening it.
"The last place they were seen was in the-"
(Time Skip)
"-Everfree Forest," Twilight said standing in at the entrance to the forest with the five mares. The five mares gasped in horror. Twilight turned to them only to see Dark flying to them. She tilted her head confused. Dark landed in front of her before looking at the forest.
"The irony. I'm guessing you six are heading in there as well?" Dark asked looking at them.
""What do you mean us six? I'm going alone. ANd why are you going in?" Twilight asked.
"Nightmare escaped and she went in there. I'm going after her," Dark replied.
"And, yes, sugarcube. No friend o' ours is going in there alone. Let's go y'all," Applejack said trotting in with the other mares following.
"Plus there might be candy apples in there. What? THose things are good," Pinkie said hopping by.
Twilight an Dark follow. After about 15 minutes of walking the ponies come to a cliff. Rainbow started crawling to Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie with a 'spooky' voice.
"Do you know why nopony comes in her? Because Nopony has ever come back out!" Rainbow said scaring the three.
"Do y'all hear that?" Applejack said hearing a cracking sound.
THe sound slowly got louder before the cliff gave way under them. Dark, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy were flying before going to the sliding unicorns and earth ponies. Rainbow grabbed Pinkie, while Fluttershy caught Rarity. At the bottom of the cliff, Applejack was holding onto Twilight from falling off. Dark flew under her and nodded to Applejack.
"Twilight, you gotta let go'" Applejack said.
"ARE YOU CRAZY!?" Twilight yelled.
"I'm telling the honest to good truth. Just let go and everything will be fine," Applejack said reassuringly.
Twilight nodded before closing her eyes and letting og. She started screaming while falling only to be caught by Dark, who smiled. Applejack jumped from ledge to ledge going down the side of the cliff. The three pegasi flew to the ground and set the mares down.
"T-Thanks Dark," Twilight said breathing heavily.
The group start trotting deeper into the forest. They came across a manticore, and Fluttershy calming him down. (A/N: Please don't think of this as favoritism. I'm honestly going by what I remember. And pulling shit out of my ass as well.) The ponies walked into a foggy area surrounded by trees. When Twilight, Fluttershy, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack saw the faces on the trees they screamed and huddled into a group shivering. They heard laughter a little ways away from them. They looked over seeing Dark and Pinkie laughing at the trees.
"Pinkie. Dark. Are you crazy!? Get away from there!" Twilight yelled.
"Oh, girls. Don't you see? When we were little ponies and the sun was going dooowwwnnnn," Pinkie and Dark sang.
"Tell me they're not," Twilight said.
"The darkness and the shadows they would always make us frooooowwwwwnnnn," they sang.
"They are," Rarity said.
"We'd hide under our pillows from what we thought we sawww. But Granny Pie said that wasn't the way to deal with fears at alllll," They sang smiling.
"Then what is?" Rainbow inquired.
"She said, ponies, you gotta stand up tall. Learn to face your fears. You'll see that they can't hurt you. Just laugh to make them disappeeeeeeaaaarrrr. HAHAHA!" they laughed making a face disappear.
The others gasped.
"Soooooo. Giggle at the ghostly. Guffle at the grossly. Crack up at the creepy. Whoop it up with the weepy. Chortle at the cooky. Snortle at the spooky. And tell that big, dumb, scary thing to take a hike and leave you alone. And if he thinks he can scare you, he's got another thing coming and the very idea of such a thing makes you wanna-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA- LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" They all fell to the ground laughing.
The group trotted away giggling. On the way, they came across a sea serpent, Steven Magnet, who was crying over half his mustache being cut off. (BE A MAN!) Rarity took one of his scales and cut off her tail before levitating, and braiding it into is mustache. Later, they came across a brigde that was only connected to one side. Rainbow flew down grabbing the other end and flying to the other side. There she was stopped by the Shadowbolts who were trying to convince her to joun their team. She declined saying she'd never leave her friends. They arrived at the castle.
"There they are! The elements!" Twilight said excitedly.
"Twilight! Wait for us," Applejack said smiling and running after her.
Rainbow, Dark, and Fluttershy grabbed the elements and placed them in front of Twilight. Twilight looked confused at them. While they were focusing on the elements, a blue mist flew to them and swiled around the elements. Twilight jumped in, followed by Dark, and they teleported to another room. The other ponies started searching for them.
(In the throne room)
Twilight, and Dark, landed in the room and looked forward sseing Nightmare about to smash the elements. Before she could, a hooded figure kicked her away, smiling.
"Who are you? And how are you wlking on two legs?" Dark asked defensively.
"That's not important right now," The figure said turning to Nightmare,"I'll explain after we defeat Nightmare Moon."
"Fine. Twilight deal with the elements. Me, and Mr. Courage over there will handle Nightmare."
"But, Dark," Twilight said worried.
"It's fine. Have faith in me," Dark said smiling.
Twilight nodded galloping to the elements. Before she could reach, her, Dark, and the figure were blasted back. The hooded person's hood being desintagrated. The figure landed on his two paws. He was a tall black fur bipedal with blond on his belly and the bottom of his paws, and slightly longer hair on top with ice cool blue eyes. He was carrying two. 50 caliber Desert Eagle Magnums and two double edged katanas. On one hilt a snarling wolf head and a snarling dog head on the other one. He glared at Nightmare. He and Dark Charged at her only to be blasted back. The bipedal stood back up snarling.
"Nopony will beat me. My name is Rodrigo, and I will defeat you!" Rodrigo go yelled ruuning at her.
"You insolent hope do you have of beating me?" Nightmare laughed before smasing the elements.
Twilight heard the voices of the other mares coming towards them.
"Do you think you can defeat the elements that easily? The elements live on inside the ponies that embody them," Twilight said smirking seeing the girls arrive, "Applejack embodies honesty. Fluttershy, kindness. Pinkie, laughter. Rarity, generosity. Rainbow Dash, Loyalty. Dark, faith. Rodrigo, courage. And, me, MAGIC," Twilight said confidently.
Necklaces appeared on around their necks except for Dark and Twilight. Twilight got a crown and Dark got a gauntlet. They started floating in the air while glowing. They blasted a rainbow at Nightmare who screamed NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. When the light diappeared, the ponies were laying on the ground. Dark was the first to wake up, and he saw a navy blue, alicorn mare laying on the ground. He trotted to her and nudged her with his muzzle. Her eyes opened slowly and she looked at him before jumping back. A bright light appeared to the right of the group and Celestia appeared smiling. Twilight galloped to her and hugged her teacher.
"I knew you could do it," Celestia said before looking at the other alicorn and trotting to her, "Princess Luna. It has been 1000 years since I last saw you, little sister."
"SISTER!?" the mares exclaimed.
"Will you accept my offer of friendship?" Celestia said before Luna galloped to her and hugged her.
"I missed you so much, big sister," Luna said through tears.
"Hey do you know what this calls for?" Pinkie asked smiling wide.
(Outside of Ponyville)
"A PARTY!" Pinkie said.
"Princess Celestia?" Twilight said.
"Yes, my faithful student?"
"May I stay in Ponyville with my friends?"
"Yes."
The ponies hugged smiling and cheering. Dark trotted to Rodrigo.
"Get to explaining who you are," Dark said with a straight face.
"Fine. My name is-"
"That's all folks!" Pinkie said looking at the audience.
