Of Eyes And Fangs
Chapter ten
The cave was hidden by thick undergrowth. Different plants framed its entrance, discouraging low-class demons with their poisonous properties and thorny exteriors. Hiei, being immune to the plant's nefarious qualities, found the cavern to be a perfect resting spot.
You know, maybe poisonous plants weren't the best thing to have when you were sort of looking after a three-year-old, human, child.
Shrugging as if to say "Oh well", Hiei went to the opposite wall and leaned back, sliding down into a sitting position with one leg outstretched and the other drawn to his chest for his arm to prop itself on. His katana was braced against his shoulder.
Like that he closed his eyes, but the demon didn't sleep. No, it would be a few more days before he needed to sleep. For now, he would rest his eyes while his other senses were on high alert.
Just because those two S.D.F members couldn't notice Hiei didn't mean the others would be the same.
That's if they had sent out more agents. Even in the case that they didn't, he still needed a place to stay with a semblance of privacy if he wished to keep the girl- err, Kagome.
