Chapter 10

Fang POV

I liked it when she teased me. Or snickered, or laughed at what I did or said. Almost anything she did made me smile. I don't know what it was about her, it was just the way she treated me. Like I wasn't some goth freak who would rip your head off in a second.

Don't get me wrong I will attack if necessary. I've served 4 trips to Juvenile Hall for acts of Violence. First towards my Parents after what happened to Bridget. Second towards one of the Jocks for insulting Iggy and beating him up, I kinda bashed ones head into a brick wall, the third was some guy Ella dated before Iggy, he broke her heart I broke his face.

Fourth was just my stupidity. I was pissed off and roaming the streets in the early hours of the morning when a cop tried to get me to go back home. When I refused he got out of the car in an attempt to talk to me and I kinda fought with him until he tazered me.

See I'm a good boy aren't I?

"So he can't smile?" Max asked sarcasm dripping freely in her voice. I was glad she had warmed up to the group a bit.

"Not that" Iggy muttered, "Its just...God Max if we had known you could get the big bad Fang to grin we would have suggested Dr. M adopt you a while ago. Fangles here is an antisocial bundle of hate." Max laughed at his words.

"And we don't use the term loosely" Ella added glancing towards me. I rolled my eyes taking a bite of my nachos. Antisocial bundle of hate. Huh...that's a new one.

"Glad to see you're learning bigger words Ig." I mumbled seeing the grin on his face widen, "Even if I'm an Antisocial bundle of hate you still love me right?" he put a hand to his chest over his heart.

"Everyday Fangles." Then took the hand off his chest and blew me a kiss. The girls laughed and I rolled my eyes.

Trust me I love Iggy, but not in that way. But hey it's not real friendship unless you can act like a lover with your bestfriend. Sure i've kissed him a couple times but he's got Ella and I'm gonna stay single for a while.

"You two are crazy" Max exclaimed around a mouth full of nachos. Angel and Nudge giggled.

"You should see them hyped up on energy drinks. Iggy's like a child whose had way too much candy." Ella offered around her laughter.

That was how we spent the rest of lunch. Max and I being teased by the others until she disappeared towards health class with Iggy. Lord I hope she knows what she's in for with him.

Meanwhile Ella and I had English to attend to. So we headed off in the opposite direction towards the literature wing of the school.

"So did you finish that Essay that's due tomorrow?" Ella asked as we sat down at our desks. They were in the middle of the class but since their wasn't many kids in advanced English no one sat behind us.

"Of course" I muttered pulling out my notebook and beginning to sketch on the first open page I found.

"Fang! Its worth a huge amount of grade points. You should work on it in class, you know you wont have any time after school." I shrugged and continued to draw.

She was right. I would have no time after school. I would have to get back to Dr.M's house. Help Iggy with that stupid science project of his, and be back at the school by 7 for the swim meet.

Yeah you heard me. The big bad ass Fang is on the swim team, and I am by the far the best if I do say so myself. I swim 400 meters freestyle. Which for those who don't know, is going back and forth from one end of the pool to the other 8 times. We have a team of four people so we each do one lap.

I swim last of the four. We run our slowest first then to our last. Me and our third swimmer Lucas carry the team. Now many people swim there fastest first and last but we play a different way and we usually win.

"Nicholas are you paying attention?" I raised my head to see the teacher watching me impatiently. "Please try and focus, this is very important" She turned her back and I rolled my eyes lowering my head back to my paper.

I stared down at the picture not realizing what I had been drawling this entire time. I had drawn Max, but almost like an angel. She had wings. I had gotten every detail correct, even her smirk I had discovered at lunch.

Shutting my notebook quickly I pushed it into my binder and leaned back in my chair trying to focus on the lesson. But my thoughts quickly drifted back to Max.

What was it about her that drove me crazy? I wasn't like this with anyone else. Her smile, her laugh, god they drove me insane. I sighed and put my head in my hands and frustration.

How could one girl drive me insane?

Max POV

I swear to god if Iggy says 'that's what she said' one more time. I'm going to pull his tongue out through his nose. No hesitation. Health class was horrible and sitting next to the most perverted guy in the entire freaking world wasn't helping me at all.

"Hey Max?" Iggy whispered. I narrowed my eyes at him.

"You say it one more time and your going to be on the floor crying." I hissed. He leaned back in his chair.

"Well then. I was going to ask if you had number three on the worksheet but forget it." I rolled my eyes and handed him, my filled out paper letting him copy down the ones he was missing before handing it back.

"Alright that's it for today's lesson" The teacher called out as the bell rang, "Have a wonderful day!"

"Have fun in Geometry" Iggy snickered as we walked to the door. I stuck my foot out and tripped him making him fall to floor. People stopped and stared but Iggy just laughed and gathered his books back into his arms.

"Your such an ass Max." I grinned.

"So are you pal. Have fun in Art." I turned to the left and Iggy continued straight down the hall. I found the geometry room easily and claimed a seat in the back of the room. Students began to file in and take there seats. Five minutes after the bell Fang came in. He strolled past me , dropped a crumbled piece of paper on my desk and sat down behind me.

I looked back at him and raised an eyebrow but he had already stuck his head into his notebook. Turning around again I unfolded the note and froze.
