This didn't normally happen. Sure, Harry was famous for...well, many things really...but more than his past or his family, or even defeating Voldemort...which it hadn't even been just him to defeat the dark lord...more than all of that, he was famous for his detentions, and knack for attaining them by simply being. He...Harry Potter, hero of the Wizarding World...still got detention. Why?

...he didn't know...

He didn't know! There was absolutely, no reason. He closed his eyes and sighed, thinking back to just that morning.

Flashback

Harry walked down the corridor towards the mess hall, hungry after Quidditch Practice, and tired after having to wake up at six to go to Quidditch Practice. Passing by his Potions Professor, he glanced back and couldn't help but stare at him for a few moments before turning to continue on his way. This would have been fine, if he'd walked faster, he would have made it and there would have been nothing to think over later.

"Potter!"

Sadly, he hadn't moved faster, and Snape had called his name, so he'd turned around to face the potions professor, who still, he was trying to get over the being alive part of seeing him. "Y-yes sir?" He coughed, trying to cover up his slight stutter at the beginning. Not that he was scared...because he wasn't! He just, felt a bit unnerved. In his mind, Severus Snape could easily have been a Dark Lord and would have been a better one than Voldemort, if he wanted to. Which, of course, he knew Snape didn't...he loved too much...another thing Harry had to come to terms with. The man in front of him...he wasn't heartless, he had a heart, a big one, an immeasurably big heart. Filled with love for his mother, for potions, for his students...for Harry...Ron, and Hermione...for Hogwarts...he loved...he died for everything he loved. Or, at least...he would have, if he'd actually died...but he didn't, he was alive, by some unknown miracle.

"You have detention, tonight, ten o'clock, do not be late." Turning and walking away, the billowing of his work robes the only sound made known in the otherwise silent corridor.

Harry could only stare in his confusion and shock, for absolutely nothing, had taken place for him to have earned a detention...nothing...

Harry sighed, opening his eyes, he looked forward and saw Snape grading the papers stacked in front of him, "sir?"

"Write."

That word...Harry stared at his professor...that word brought his to part two of his confused state of mind. Upon his arrival to his detention...he was sat down, and parchment, a quill, and some ink was made available on the desk in front of him. On the board were simple instructions to write every animal he could think of. He looked at the list he had so far after forty minutes of thinking up animals...the names had alphabetized themselves on their own. She would move on to the next line and the ones above would reorder themselves. "Sir!" He called out in annoyance.

"What is it Potter?"

"Why did I get detention? What did I do?"

The answer was one he simply did not expect.

"You didn't do anything, Potter...I merely have no time to sit down and write a list of every animal I can think of, hence why you are here...so write. I on the other hand, am forced to grade the essays of every student attending this blasted school..."

"I could be doing my homework...sir."

Rolling his eyes, Severus looked up from a girl's essay, some Hufflepuff names Greta. "Don't lie to me Potter, you would have waited til last minute, as per usual."

It was true, sure...but Harry wasn't about to admit it.

"How many animals have you listed?"

He glanced down and looked to the last numbered line he'd written on, "eighty-four..."

"Then that should be enough, you can leave the parchment on my desk."

Not arguing, he stood and quickly made his way to the desk, dropping the paper carefully down beside Snape, he made to leave before curiosity stopped him, "sir?"

"...yes?"

"Why do you need a list of animals?"

Sighing, Severus turned cold eyes onto Harry before smirking, "you must not want to leave yet. Perhaps cleaning the cauldrons by hand is something you would like to assist in?"

Shaking his head, Harry was out of the Potions room faster than Severus's eyes could keep up.

Daphne Greengrass was a Slytherin and she was proud of that fact, even as the war ragged on. She was a Slytherin and her house was like family.

Nothing in the world would change that. Other people may hate the thought of Slytherin, but to her it was her home. Somewhere where she could be herself...and not have to be what her parents wanted her to be. Not have to be 'Ice Queen' or any other name that had been given to her over the years.

To her...Slytherin meant family. It meant you are not alone.

That is why when Kagome Higurashi was put into Slytherin, she made sure to get all of the information she could on the girl.

She wanted to know if this girl would make Slytherin different that it once was. She didn't want her home away from home to change.

Daphne wanted to have her last year at Hogwarts to be enjoyable. She didn't want to have to hide herself because of a newcomer.

So when she wrote her family the night after Higurashi woke up screaming. Though the letter in front of her wasn't what she was expecting from her father.

Dear Daphne,

The letter you sent me was rather interesting. I didn't know that Miss Higurashi even came back to Hogwarts after what had transpired in the War.

Kagome Higurashi is a bright witch, she came from a good family, but she also harbors dark secrets. Those secrets are what attracted the Dark Lord.

The Dark Lord wanted Miss Higurashi for many reasons. THe one I know is because she is very powerful. Don't be fooled from the past years you have seen her. Kagome Higurashi is a Dark Witch. She may not seem like one from the house she once inhabited, but she is Dark through and through.

Miss Higurashi was a key to the war the Dark Lord wanted, and he had stopped at nothing to make her so. Though, Miss Higurashi fought and fought and did something I could have never done...She refused the Darl Lord over and over again, and with each refusal she gave Miss Higurashi lost something she loved dear.

Like many who were under the Dark Lord, myself included, have never stood up to the him like that young woman. She is strong and I can see why she was placed in Gryffindor. She stood for what she believed in, even as she lost things she held dear to her heart.

I am afraid that the war took more from her than most and that could indicate why she is now in Slytherin. She had to do alot of things to make sure she didn't lose herself and become another Bellatrix Lestrange.

I am not going to tell you what exactly happened to Miss Higurashi, that is for her to tell you, if she so chooses.

Just be careful around her, she doesn't need any more enemies. She would be a good ally to you and our family.

For she helped more any the war than anyone things.

Stay safe.

Head of the Noble and Ancient House of Greengrass

Daphne sat the letter back down, frown on her face. It seems she would be figuring out what was going on with Kagome Higurashi...she just didn't know how to go about it.

She would just have to take things slow and befriend the girl. Daphne just hoped things didn't backfire...she would just have to see in the days to come.
