Not what it seems

Takuma Ichijio

Serafinia woke up and took the time to yawn.

She heard the Day-Class girls run around the dorm that meant she had half an hour to get dressed and ready for the day.

Johanna's bed was already made, the girl already together with the other two guardians preparing for the Day-Class.

It was fine with Serafinia that her friend was away as she didn't have to explain to her where she was going this way.

Just like promised in the first night of their stay at Cross Academy Serafinia was going to talk to the headmaster.

However the topic wasn't just the classes and were she should stay.

Her friend , Serafinia hesitated calling her that actually, need not know about her troubles.

As soon as Serafinia slipped out of the dorm she shivered.

It was still rather cold for late january.

Serafinia guessed it was more likely that she simply hadn't gotten used to it yet.

There was quiet a bit of school ground between the sun dorms and the office of the headmaster which Serafinia took running.

A part of Serafinia was very happy that she was going to miss the Night-Class this way.

No blue-eyed annoyance for her.

The last few steps to the headmasters office Serafinia walked normally, allowing the warmth to seep into her bones.

„I guess she will be here soon, Takuma."

The voice of the headmaster rang clearly out and Serafinia hesitated in her steps.

She would have to tell him that his door was anything but sound proof if he wanted to keep the secret of the Academy.

When Serafinia raised her hand to knock, she heard another voice behind the door, muttering something.

That caught her of-guard.

It was foolish, Serafinia was aware but she had thought that someone was still talking to the headmaster and that she would have to wait before she could talk with him.

She would have to make a point in listening more closely in the future because she hadn't realised what the words meant the headmaster had spoken.

The other person in the room was waiting together with the headmaster, most likely for her.

That took a few moments to sink in and Serafinia felt herself getting angry.

The chairman had no right to tell another person about her.

As Serafinia knocked she didn't carefully rap her knuckles against the wood but pounded on the door before marching in.

The green eyes boy stood at the table, looking inquisitive while the headmaster sweated.

„Serafinia may I introduce you to Takuma Ichijio, the right hand of the class president Kuran."

Ichijio gave her a brave smile as he fully turned to her.

„ If you have any questions about the Night-Class don't hesitate to ask me."

He followed that up with another smile that could make Day-Class girls faint.

Serafinia however wasn't about to.

Still very much angry she turned to the headmaster.

„What have you told him about me, Cross?", she demanded.

The old hunter didn't seem impressed and kept his answer short and indifferent.

„I informed Takuma that you are part of the Hunter Association and that you might be forced through your medical condition to sleep in the moon dorms. Of course I also told Takuma that you are wary of vampires like him and therefore don't wish to move into their dorms until you are sure that you will be safe."

Serafinia was speechless.

Takuma had nodded along as the headmaster had talked which indicated that he believed this story.

Who knew that the headmaster of Cross Academy was such a skilled liar?
