"I need you all to promise that if you can't pull me out of an episode, that you'll inject me with it."
"Cam, what exactly does it do?" Bex inquires before she can promise.
"I need you to promise me first. Promise me that you'll inject me with it." I say sternly.
Each of them say a promise, Zach doesn't say anything because he knows what it does.
"Cam, will you please tell us what it does, now?" Bex asks again.
"It will kill me." I say, hiding my eyes.
...
I look at the shocked faces of the people close to me.
"What do you mean it'll kill you?" Bex yells for everyone.
"Exactly that. Kill me. It's not like you can go up against me in a fight anymore, Bex. To top it all off, I don't even realize what I do in that state so I have no idea what my power would do." I say, logically to get them to see my point.
"But that's just it. Despite that we can't just sit by and wait for you to go crazy and have no plan besides the worst thing you can do yourself and everyone." Macey says.
"That is the last resort. We will find something." Aunt Abby says. The tension in the room goes up.
"Well, you guys can try looking through all the stuff I have, but I'm doubtful that you'll find anything..." I start to get up and wince as I feel a sharp pain go through my hand. The hand that I wear my ring, the veins are starting to color and show through my skin. I tighten my fist and get all the way up. With my back turned to the people gathered in my room, I walk out towards my secret room. It has all the information they are looking for. I hear the rest following as Zach catches up to me and holds my hand. I use my left hand that carries my ring and set it on the hidden scanner. It id's me and asks for a retinal scan. I let go of his hand and continue with the scan. Once confirmed, the door opens and I take Zach's hand and lead everyone into my hideaway.
"This is where I store all the information I've managed to gather." I say pointing to the holotable and the screen.
As everyone files into the small room, including the old members of the Misfits who are surprised that I kept this from them. I raise my hand and indiciate the scan that scans my ring to identify that its me.
"Computer, bring up all files related to Project Delta Echo Alpha Tango Hotel. And turn the lights on." All the files that I've collected from the Circle, to government organizations pull up to the screen. I pull out smaller tablet like screens so the others can see the information as the lights in the room turn on.
"You guys can stay here and go over what I found. I'm going to go take a shower and then come back and check on you." I start to turn when a hand grabs my left hand.
"Why do you keep hiding your left hand?" Skye asks. I manage to pull it out of her grip, but the outlined veins don't go unmissed.
"It's started hasn't it?" Romy goes up to her sister's side and asks.
"What's started? What haven't you told us?" Macey demands for everyone.
"I..." I look down, and flashes of memories surface.
"I..I can't...I can't talk about it, but if you bring up the test subjects... It'll tell you everything you want to know." My voice starts to get stronger towards the end.
I walk out of the room and close the door before questions start. I sigh and lean against the door as I see Zach standing beside me.
"Were you going to tell them about it?" He asks tentatively.
"To be honest, I have no idea." I start to lean into his shoulder. It feels nice to lean on his shoulder. We stay like that for a few minutes.
"I should go take that shower...before I start smelling." I smile towards the end, trying to lighten the mood.
"I'll be in the hall if you need me." He assures me as we walk to my room.
...
With some resolve, I start to head back to the room.
"How was your shower?"
"It was good."
"Are you going back in there?"
"Yes."
"Are you ready to answer some of their questions?" I know what he's implying at this point.
"I don't know..." Trail off and stop in the middle of the hall.
"Cam, listen to me. You've been shouldering all this guilt for so long. Even I couldn't help you with it. It's time you let people in. You need to see that you have people in there that care about you. I know that you know that, but this time they actually know what's going on. It's time to bring them out of the dark." He knows how to motivate people. I smile up at him as he gently takes my left hand.
"Alright, let's go."

AN: OMG it's been a long time, even though I promised a chapter quicker than that. For that I am so sorry. But on the bright side, I should be able to get another chapter this week. I've been slowly getting back into writing. I'll admit, it been tough. I've had writers block for a long time and there's also that I'm just not in a great spot, emotionally at the moment. But enough with my problems. Please leave a review because it helps inspire me and I'll see you soon with a new chapter.
