Hey guys, where chapter 10! Sorry again about the delay, I really am trying but I'm having trouble with writer's block for this story. Thank you all for you patients.
The musical inspiration for this chapter was, Can't Take It by The All American Rejects.
10. I've Had Enough
"Hey Kagome, are you ok? You seem sad…" Sango asked quietly, falling into pace with her friend.
"Yeah… just a little bummed about the whole situation I guess." she said, Sango gave her a skeptical look but did not press it. If Kagome didn't want to talk about it then she wasn't going to talk about it.
"Okay…" she said, Kagome passed her a tight smile and quickened her pace, she wanted to be alone. Sango shot a look back at the others. Miroku frowned pensively and Shippo looked after her with a sad expression before turning a glare on Inuyasha.
"What?" Inuyasha asked in annoyance.
"This is your fault!" the young fox demon snapped, pointing an accusing finger.
"How the hell is this my fault! All I did was tell her the truth!" he retorted heatedly.
"Kagome would never have went with them in first place if you weren't always so mean to her!" Shippo snapped back.
"Thats not my fault either! They tricked her! I didn't tell her to go." Inuyasha yelled back, he tried to ignore the bit of guilt that bubbled in his chest.
"Why can't you ever admit it when you're the problem!" Shippo shrieked, his face turned red with tears streaming down it. Inuyasha paused, Shippo never got this worked up.
"I don't exactly understand everything that goes on between you two, heck I'm just a kid! I do know a few things though!" Shippo spoke sternly and harshly, even Kagome stopped to listen.
"I know you and Kagome liked each other as more than friends, but you want to be more than friends with Kikiyo too! So you kept pushing her away until she finally got sick of you. Then when she finds some new friends, one she might even like as more than just friends, you had to go rushing in to ruin that-"
"Shippo…" Miroku said quietly, he could see that Inuyasha had had enough.
"No! I just don't understand you Inuyasha! You ruin her! Why do you ruin her?" Shippo yelled, letting his face fall to his hands as he began to cry again.
Inuyasha was about to speak when he noticed movement and looked up to see Kagome running off. Without some much as a second thought, he sprinted after her. "Kagome!" he called. She ignored him and just kept running until she came to the pool at the base of a waterfall, where she collapsed to her knees in tears. This was the place that she and Bankotsu had connected, she wasn't sure why she came back here, or how she knew they'd circled back to it.
"Kagome…" he said quietly, slowly approaching and then sitting beside her.
He sighed, "Kagome… I'm- sorry." he said, his sincerity even surprised him. Kagome looked up at him in surprise, and went to say something.
"No, Kagome. I need to say this now, or I'll never be able to talk myself back into it." he said, looking out at the water.
"I've been an idiot, Kagome. I don't treat you the way that you should be, I didn't realize it though, until you were leaving. Kagome, watching you leave, watching you with him drove me crazy." he told her.
Kagome looked at him, but he wouldn't look at her, he just kept his eyes fixed on the water. She reached over and turned his face to look at her. "Aww, isn't this touching." both of their heads snapped up at the sound of that evilly familiar voice. There on the cliff beside the waterfall stood one of Naraku's clones, just above him Kagura floated on her feather. Kagome squinted, she had an unconscious man laid across her feather.
Inuyasha leapt to his feet, "Naraku! Why don't you face me for real you coward!" he spat, drawing Tessaiga. The clone merely chuckled as he sent his roots flying at them. Inuyasha grabbed Kagome and dodged it.
"Kagome, get back to the others." he ordered. She nodded and sprinted off into the forest. Kagura flew after her quickly.
"Hey!" Inuyasha yelled and moved to sprint after her. One of Naraku's root grabbed his ankle though, tripping him, "Damn you!" Inuyasha spat, slicing the root away.
Kagome ran as hard as she could, she could hear Kagura flying after her and she made an effort to weave between trees to keep her back, but she stayed right on her tail. With a sweep of the wind witch's fan, Kagome was carried off her feet then slammed hard into a tree, blacking out.
Kagura hauled her onto her fan, laying her over her other captive before heading back to Mt. Hakurai. She brought them deep into the cave and had Kohaku tie them up, she left she then left with Kanna to go and see to it that Naraku's plans were going accordingly.
"Kagome…" a voice whispered quietly, "Kagomeeeeeee." Kagome groaned as the voice broke her unconscious state. She rose her head to look at the person whispering her name, but she did not recognize him.
"Who are you?" she asked, struggling to sit up due to her restraints.
The man laughed, "Right I keep forgetting. It's me, Ginkotsu." He responded. Kagome almost didn't believe him, but one look at his blazing red hair made it undeniable.
"Ginkotsu…. you're- human!" she said in surprise.
"Yeah I know!" he beamed, the two continued to grin at one another like idiots for a moment longer before remembering their current situation.
"We've gotta get out of here." Kagome said, Ginkotsu nodded in agreement, a thoughtful look on his face. Kagome looked down at her feet, Bankotsu would be coming after Ginkotsu. She wasn't sure she could face him ever again.
Inuyasha winced as his body collided with a tree, snapping it's trunk. Struggling back to his feet, he brace himself as the Naraku clone's root flew at him, most likely with the intent of piercing straight through him. "Damn it…" he growled, making an attempt to move out of the way.
His head whipped back to Naraku as he felt a familiar aura and watched as Bankotsu flew out of nowhere and brought Banryu down, slicing Naraku in half.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Inuysha demanded, as the rest of the Band of Seven, as well as Dashtai came into view.
"Naraku's got Ginkotsu captive. We were tracking him." Bankotsu responded, pulling Banryu from the ground and resting it back on his shoulder.
Inuyasha tried to process how that was possible, how was Ginkotsu just carried off like it was nothing? He was a giant machine! "What?" he asked, lost for any other response.
Jakotsu rolled his eyes, "Hes human again, we've all been completely revived thanks to Dashtai." he shot said man a swooning look.
"Inuyasha!" All turned as Sango, Miroku, Shippo and Kirara charged over, ready for battle. "Whats all the commotion we heard?" Sango asked.
"Wheres Kagome?" Inyasha ignored he question, looking around and trying to catch her scent.
"What do you mean, she was with you." Miroku responded in confusion.
"Damn it!" Inuyasha growled. "Kagura got her…."
"Damn it… Men, lets get moving." Bankotsu said, now he had two people to worry about.
"Hey! Wait a minute!" Inuyasha snapped, grabbing Bankotsu's arm, the young mercenary leader turned back around to meet Inuyasha's glare. "I'm saving Kagome. You've had your chance with her." he growled.
"If you were able to save her why is this the second time shes been kidnapped?" Bankotsu asked, pulling his arm from Inuyasha's grip and heading off.
"Lets go." he growled, signalling for his friends to follow him.
"I'm actually from the mainland, from the far northwest." Ginkotsu explained, somehow they had gotten on this topic.
"Then how did you end up all the way here?" Kagome asked, she didn't think he was Japanese with his fiery red hair but that didn't really explain how he'd gotten here.
Ginkotsu shrugged, "My parents traveled a lot, then we settled in a seaside fishing village when I was born. When I was old enough I went out deep sea fishing with my father. I ended up shipwrecked with my father in China, we got caught up in the business of smuggling between China and Japan. Somehow we got caught but my father made sure I got away, and so with no way back I had to adapt to here." he explained.
"So Ginkotsus not your real name then?" Kagome asked.
Ginkotsu laughed and shook his head, "Not a single one of us went by our real name after joining the Band of Seven, except Kyokotsu." he explained.
"What do you mean?" Kagome asked.
"Kyokotsu didn't have a name before the Band of Seven. Bankotsu gave him is name." he explained.
"Whats your real name?" she asked after a moment.
"Well the name I was given at birth was Sven, when I got here they called me Akai because of my hair." Ginkotsu revealed, thinking all the way back to these times.
"What are the others real names?" she asked.
"I can't tell you that." he responded, giving her an apologetic smile.
"How did you become part of the Band of Seven?" she asked.
"Full of questions tonight, huh?" he chuckled, "Well, you see I had been working with Renkotsu for a while at that point, he made the plans and I pulled them off. It wasn't an essential situation but we made a decent living."
"You knew Renkotsu before the Band of Seven?" Kagome gave him a surprised look.
Ginkotsu let out another laugh, "This is a long story you're getting into, are you committed?" he asked. Kagome nodded, there was so much that she did not know about the Band of Seven and she wanted to learn.
Okay, there you go. I hope you didn't hate it, I know it was kind of a filler chapter but I think next chapter should be a good one. so you can look forward to that when ever I manage to get it done.
