Wow, hopefully you guys don't hate me for giving you a shorter chapter than the last one. Again thank you to all of my reviewers, I love you all so much.
I own nothing if you recognize it from the show.
Cat was given her personality (sort of) because I like cats and wanted a catlike character. I also like dogs, but wasn't going to name a character DOG so…
I tired now; it's been another long week in the like of a twelfth grade nobody.
I swear to God that the next one will be longer, but I haven't decided if the next one should be just mostly Cat and Madi's thoughts with some from the team thrown in or if I should write one for them and one for the team. It's mostly in reaction to everything that's happening in this one and after so any suggestions are appreciated!
Review please!
I'm a poor teenage girl, do you really think I own ANYTHING?
Enjoy!
When Morgan got home she wanted nothing more than to cry again.
Keep it together. She commanded herself. But everywhere she looked in her home reminded her of him. That was the chair he had sat in when she had begged him to come over after her kidnapping. There was the jacket he had given her for her birthday-she hadn't known that he was even aware of her birthday, and he hadn't made a huge deal of it, rather he had handed it to her as they walked to their cars- she wore it as often as she could. Over there was the blanket he had wrapped around her when she had gotten cold while watching a movie-then she had moved closer to him and laid her head against his arm while he laughed at her expression of concentration.
She realized just how often Greg was around, he constantly gave her his time. If she called and asked him to come over because she had a scary movie that she didn't want to watch alone, he would come over and hold her hand as she jumped and flinched.
She had just about decided to go spend the night at her dad's place when there was a knock at her door. She opened it and found a young woman standing in the doorway. She was about seventeen or eighteen with long platinum blonde hair and red-rimmed forest green eyes. The girl looked at her and her eyes filled with tears. She was about Morgan's height with long, slender arms.
"You're Morgan right?" The girl asked.
"Yeah, I am." Morgan nodded.
"I'm Madi, Greg's niece." She said. Her lithe arms were wrapped around her midsection. She looked a lot like Cat, including the well hidden muscles, and-knowing Cat- she was probably trained to fight. Morgan took a step forward and wrapped the girl in a hug. After a moment, she pulled her inside and they went to the couch and sat down.
"You two are close then." Madi observed.
"Yeah." Morgan said sadly.
"He really likes you." Madi gave her a small smile.
"I really like him, too." Morgan smiled a little, too.
"Are you together yet?"
"Yeah, I guess we are now." Morgan said.
"Well, that's good." Madi said with an air of finality.
"Um, how is it good that my boyfriend of, like, a day is missing?" Morgan asked.
"Isn't it obvious?" Madi tilted her head and lifted an eyebrow. "Now he has one more thing to fight for; one more reason to stay alive. You're another reason for him to find a way to come home." She was silent for a few seconds. "That and he was really lonely."
"Well, when he gets back I'll make sure he knows he doesn't have to be lonely anymore." Morgan said. They settled into another easy silence before Madi broke it again.
"He was like a dad to me." She said. "I mean, he raised me from birth. He's the only dad I've ever known. He taught me how to read, how to write, how to ride a bike, how to love." She gave a little laugh. "He showed me science and ever since then I've wanted to be just like him. I've wanted to work at the lab since I was, like, five. I got a full ride to Harvard in the fall and then I'm coming right back once I have my degree. I've been training myself for this for a long time, but I can't help but feel like it won't mean a damn thing if he isn't there with me." Her last statement made her sound just like her mother. Tears started falling down her face again. "If he isn't there with me, I don't know how I'll do it."
"We'll get him back." Morgan said, ignoring the tears sliding down her face at the thought of him never coming home. She pulled Madi closer to her and held the young girl as she cried. Madi rested her head against Morgan's shoulder and just let herself cry. Morgan didn't know how long they sat there like that, but after a while, Madi moved back and palmed her eyes.
"Sorry." She said, wiping the last of her tears.
"Its fine." Morgan said softly, placing her hand on Madi's shoulder. "We're family now, right?"
"Yeah." The younger woman smiled. "I should go, Mom will get worried if I'm out much longer."
"Well, I don't want her to worry." Morgan said, standing up with Madi. Madi handed her the sweatshirt she had come in with.
"I brought this for you."
"What is it?" She asked, confused.
"It's Greg's. I figured you might want to have something of his." She shrugged. "You know, if you ever miss him too much. It still smells like him." Morgan gently took it in her hands and looked at Madi with fresh tears in her eyes.
"Thank you." She said quietly. Madi nodded and had disappeared through the doorway before she could say anything else. Morgan clutched the sweatshirt to her chest and pushed her face into the soft fabric.
Please, come home soon. She prayed.
This is not fun. Greg thought. The guy had strapped him down to a table and injected him with something that paralyzed him, but kept him conscious. He had also stripped off Greg's shirt and then left. The room was cold, and Greg hated not being able to move or make a sound or anything. As he laid there on his back, he couldn't decide which was worse, laying and waiting for the man to come back, or the actual torture (which he had yet to experience, but could only imagine would be terrible). He heard the door swing open, but couldn't turn his head to see anything. The man come back into view and pulled out a needle. Having already gotten a few tattoos of his own accord, Greg knew exactly what his captor was planning. He pressed the needle to Greg's chest and after a while, the unforgiving pain and pressure on his chest becomes overwhelming and he lets the tears leak out of his eyes. At that point, he doesn't much care about showing weakness. The man laughed at his pain and inability to fight back.
Go to Hell you sadistic bastard. Greg thought before letting the darkness encroaching on his vision to take over.
God, two chapters in like an hour? WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO! I'll put the next one up soon I promise!
See y'all later!
