The Lost Souls.
New feelings, Chapter Ten,
PART TWO
"It's better to Conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then The Victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell." Buddha.
"Kabuto." Sakura said lack of surprise and emotion in her voice, her face neutral.
"Sakura-Chan... I would have expected a little more surprise, my Chakra has changed a lot sense the last time we met." Kabuto said in a sinister voice.
"As a Shinobi you expect the unexpected." Sakura said, and gave him her own wicked smirk. "And as a Female, we are always right." She said her smirk turning into a cocky smile that irritated him, she could make Anyone believe what she wanted.
"Ahh, so let's cut to the point shall we." He demanded more that asked, before he could continue she started.
"Why, because you don't have a good verbal fight? I'm sure over the years you improved that as well, am I correct? Because if your Verbal offensiveness is as bad as your fighting this won't be any fun." She countered again, he growled a low angry growl.
"Didn't your parents ever teach you not to disrespect your elders. " Kabuto lashed out.
"Yeah key word Elders, your old ill admit but I was also taught to not trust and respect petioles. You see how this contradicts?" She asked him with a smirk and a twirl of her kunai.
"Enough you brat!" He yelled and lunged at her, before he could even get his feet off the ground a vein from his arm popped out of place, and bulged under his skin. Then his skin started turning a purple and red mixture, the blood was spewing under his skin. He bit back a scream and looked at Sakura who was intensely staring at his arm.
'How did she do that...?' He questioned himself, their eyes met and the question was answered, with a smirk. He moved with more of a target this time and she flipped forward to avoid the solid slice he had made with his Chakra infused palm. Her back was towards him as he spun, he smirked at the upper hand he had.
He sent his palm towards her again, her leg flied out and slapped him back, he gasped in surprise as it made contact, he felt and heard his bone snap, but he also saw his skin break, and blood pour out. 'She must be using a blade of some sort.'
He boosted himself back, and started up his healing process, she didn't give him any time to heal, she was progressing forward, her eyes narrowed and calculating their situation. She took in their location, rocks everywhere, cursed people in the way, trees to start the forest and water, a lot of water.
She hit two hand signs and blew fire in a huge circle, expanding it over one hundred feet, Sasuke jumped back from his position to avoid the heat. "Why is Sakura the only one fighting?" Juugo asked, slightly frustrated.
"Because we can't get in to fight, she hogging Kabuto." Karin bitched.
"No because she's the only one that can, Kabuto is a Medical Ninja as is Sakura. They both are incredibly smart, she also has no connections to Kabuto, as you three do, wether their good or bad their still emotions. Sakura is putting any emotional connection to the side. Also Sakura will only have enough Chakra to heal herself after the fight and then get away to our next location, not enough to heal your mistakes."
"Your included with us..." Suigutsu muttered, Sasuke heard and thought about it, he started to walk forward wanting to fight but thought better of it, he listed many reasons why he shouldn't.
The fire died down and Kabuto wasn't seen, but Sakura was in the middle in a low crouch, two Kunai's up for protection, they were crossed in a dual sign. She straightened and pocketed both kunai, Karin started yelling how impossible it would be to kill Kabuto that fast, and Sasuke agreed, Sakura showed no indication that she heard, instead all her body weight slammed through her arm and into her hand, which slammed into the ground.
The ground shook and then cracked and slanted down and up. She manipulated the playing ground. Kabuto popped out of the ground, and stumbled on the new rocky land.
"Impressive, I'd expect nothing less from the Hokages Apprentice." Kabuto said and pulled out many silver strings.
"Actually, I surpassed the Hokage I'm not her apprentice anymore." Sakura snapped out, Kabuto's eyes widened for a half a second and then he smiled in intresest. Sasuke had heard what she had said, he'd Believe it too, she was different and stronger, a lot stronger.
Sasuke watched as Sakura crouched into a low position, one that would allow her feet to glide smoothly backwards to avoid a deadly blow or allow her to move forward in a speedy way. In seconds Kabuto was behind her, he held a kunai in his hand, his arm was extended backwards ready to sever her head from her body, in a second the kunai was slicing thin air.
Sakura's body was in a low crouch, her hands were touching the rough ground and one foot was planted on the ground while the other flew out and up, connecting with Kabuto's chest. He went flying backwards his body vibrated from her chakra enhanced kick. She spun her body around with the momentum the blow had given her, she stood and recovered.
Her pink hair blew with the wind, a few strands fell in her face, her long bangs dangled around her and lifted as the wind settled down. Kabuto resurfaced from the ling of fallen trees, he glared and fixed his glasses.
In an instant he was gone. She observed the area, she knew he didn't leave for good, he was just hiding, waiting. She felt his chakra spike in excitement and she pushed her body to move to where he would be.
She barley got in front of Sasuke in time, she felt the kunai slice into her skin, before she delivered a chakra enhanced punch to Kabuto's left shoulder. The kunai clattered to the ground, the shallow wound dripped blood in a line running down her arm, she observed her body for poison but found none.
Again Kabuto was not seen, she waited and listened, she heard it before she saw it. A step to her left, she spun and pushed Sasuke to the ground as a hand that glowed red palm open slammed towards her, she quickly caught his wrist and flipped his body down.
Sakura tapped her heel against the played earth, and one rose to meet Kabuto's falling form. He connected face fist into the rough ground. Sakura jumped a few feet backwards.
"Your anticipating that I am the same as I was, many years ago." Sakura said in a defiant tone, her jade eyes narrowed at the rising enemy, his own eyes glared at her in a unspoken hatred.
"I only came to see what you were doing so far away from home. I had no intention for a fight but now that it has started it must end, right Sakura-chan..." Kabuto hissed out.
"Forget the formalities, and cut the small talk." She snapped at him her eyes glazing over and becoming more focused. In the instant his hand twitched towards his pack she was already gone.
Team Hebi stepped back as Small pink cherry blossom petals fell from no where. 'Where'd they come from.' Sasuke thought to himself. They fell in a small circle, rarely landing, Kabuto stood still with a cocky smile, he knew there was a trick in this and he guessed Chakra strings, he saw one and was correct.
He then found the pattern, it was a genin trick and her last. He waited for her to appear. "Now Sakura... You don't truly believe that simple flower petals... And Chakra string will be deceiving me." Kabuto said with a smile, he cut one sting and smiled at her.
"I didn't expect my jutsu to deceive you, however I did expect my mind to deceive yours." Sakura said with a breath taking smile that was real. She hit one hand sign as Kabuto realized his mistake.
"You Underestimated me..." She said as all the petals spun and either turned into a kunai, senbon, or showed the explosive tag on the back, the rigged weapons exploded and flew towards him. Granted a ninja especially as elite as Kabuto could easily get out of this, he would be to distracted to remember the Chakra strings.
He walked into a patch, and started to get electrocuted. 'I forgot the s-strings...' Kabuto thought as weapons embedded themselves in his skin, and explosions blew him around, as fire licked at his clothes and heated his skin and hair. She moved back as the fire became overwhelming.
She glanced over her shoulder to see Sasuke and team Hebi staring at her. They were about twenty feet away from her, and for the first time in the whole trip she felt utterly alone... She felt what she was doing was wrong. Not hurting or possibly killing Kabuto, no that was fine... It was that she was with S-Class criminals going to kill another S-class criminal, steal back a body and reunite body with soul.
She looked down, the ground was broken around her, but her reflection sparkled in a small puddle near her feet, her hair was long and flowing down her back, her clothes were a little dirty and she had a few sweat droplets on her brow, she felt a pain shoot through her arm and one in her lower right abdomen.
'He must of landed one good blow on me when I wasn't paying attention...' She cursed herself for letting that happen, she knew it wasn't fatal but it hurt like hell. Her hand instinctively went to her wound, she summoned small beats of Chakra to numb the pain, that was the best she could do for now, if Kabuto was alive or even escaped she had to be ready and have excess Chakra to kill him.
"She's hurt..." Juugo said a deep frown on his face, Sasuke felt his stomach spin, guilt slowly working its way into his blue eyes. 'I should have been fighting. She specifically told me that she wouldn't be fighting but... She did, because she knew that the rest of us would have died...' he found himself getting furious, some part of him knew it was at himself, but it was easier to blame someone else.
Karin saw Sasuke's current bodies eyes flicker with guilt, and the way he seemed to soften a little maybe just the slightest bit, when he looked or spoke to the other girl, she felt enraged that he didn't do that towards her or her team members. 'Whats so special about this girl...'
"Were wasting time..." Sasuke growled out and strided to Sakura. When he reached her, he blindly grabbed her upper arm, she winced in pain, her face contorted and shriveled up in distaste, she hissed through her teeth, he dragged her forward a few feet until she wrenched his hand off her wound.
He turned and looked back and saw Sakura holding her arm, blood now pouring out of the open cut, he saw her blood on his hands, and realized he had hurt her. 'That was the wound she took for me...' he thought and felt guilt slap him in the gut, she glared at him and held her arm.
She took off her ninja headband from her small and curvy waist and wrapped it tightly around the open wound. She walked into him, and shoved him a few inches not stopping to let him speak or apologize, he felt like a dick and wanted to say something.
"She's not the one to apologize to..." Juugo said, and Sasuke looked at him for a moment before he walked off as well, Sasuke stood and stared at his hands for a moment, her blood coating one.
'He means myself...' Sasuke thought and then found his mistake. 'I blamed my helplessness on her, then in a angry rant I grabbed her, where she was wounded. Again her wound was because of me. Ughhhh' he was guilty and angry at these new feelings but he was also angry at himself, he was used to doing everything and being independent but now he had to follow his old team mate, a girl. Sakura.
