Dawn had just broke. Tatsumi was sitting up on his bead appearing to be watching the sun rise through his balcony window. His eyes were a dull green. He was not looking at the sun rise, he looked past it, seeking answers he knew but wanted to be different. He closed his eyes and took in a deep breath. Exhaling slowly. And like the flip of a switch his eyes were returned to the their fierce green.

He exited his room and headed towards his squad's meeting room. He opened the door and meet sights with a presence so icy it could put hell out of business. Such a benevolent entity took form as a woman with hair and eyes to match the ice she lays upon her victims in battle. She was sitting in HIS chair. He could care less about the the blonde haired man to her right. In fact he could ignore the intrusion of he blatant disregard of another general's office. No the thing that bothered him was her reason for being here.

"Oh, my dear general Tatsumi. You were the one I was waiting for." She smiled at him as if it was ordinary for her to be there.

"Mmm, well may I ask what might be your reason for dropping in. I mean no disrespect, but I run an operation that deserve my current attention."

"Well can't another general pop by just to say hi." Tatsumi could only raise his eyebrow at the blue haired beauty. All she could do was sigh the boy needed to loosen up a bit. "But as Bols said I need to be persistent." "Well, I suppose I should get to business. There is reports about an underground hideout for revolutionary spies. We would like you to investigate."

"Isn't that the job of the emperor."

Esdeath had gotten up and began taking her leave, "I only volunteered to deliver some friendly information. See you around."

He'd never figure out the mind of that sadistic weirdo. But he never would want to. As they say "takes one to know one." Then he felt that all so familiar presence. "Vàlad. How are you." Tatsumi addressed him. He had still yet to answer, obviously shaken up. He turned to see that look of confusion on his face. "Ahh, you seen her right? Quite the presence ehh?" He sat down at his seat and looked over what he was being ordered to do. Jubei and his illegal transactions will have to wait for now. He had another job besides fixing the falling empire. To stomp out the rebellion. "Yes, that is all it is. Fools rebelling because they are to powerless and to selfish to do this right. Blood only begets blood." That was a unbroken law.

He read through the report and it seemed that the rebels had a post near the capital. But what struck him as odd was that there were reports of teigu users there. This could mean that the prime minister is dumb as well as the revolutionary army. Or this could be the biggest and most obvious set up every. As if it wasn't bad enough they had to take down the post tonight. "Ah just on time." Zard and Ayumi was arguing about something. Vàlad had tried to defuse the situation which only resulted in him being called a jackass. At this point a brawl might as well spill out. Hime and Sayo just kept talking as if what was happening didn't affect them at all. Kurome just seemed more content on eating the ridiculous amount of snacks and staring around the room.

"Ahem" Tatsumi made a gesture with his arm, everyone getting the hint, sat down. "Anyway we have to go and investigate a potential post for rebels. Those who are present are also said to be in possession of teigu. They are demons fang:jackal, and infinite armour: hydra." Tatsumi sat down the file with the information in it. "As the layout says there are two ways to enter," he laid out a map of the empire's abandoned underground tunnels. He pointed at a spot north of the said post "one to the north and one to the south east." He then pointed a area to the east side of the revolutionary army post. "Here is where we'll split up. Any questions?"

No one made a move to voice their concerns, if they had any.

"No, good. Team A will enter from the south east, team B will enter from the north, after team A commence their assault. Team A will consist of myself Zard and Vàlad. Likewise, Team B will be Ayumi, Sayo, Hime, and Kurome. Ayumi, you're going to lead team B. Our initial assault will disrupt their forces and split them. While they are mainly focusing on us Team B will be striking at the heart of the post. We move out at night get prepared and we will reconvene here before moving out. Dismissed."

"Sir, if I may, what of our patrols?"

"You needn't worry Zard I have some of the soldiers taking care of it." After that everyone cleared the room save for Vàlad and Kurome.

"Anything new to report, general?"

"No, not as of yet my emperor." Tatsumi was kneeling in front of the child ruler.

"Have you been getting used to your position?" Makoto was questions was filled with actual curiosity.

Tatsumi had to at least crack a smile. At least the boy cared for those who worked to keep his empire standing. "Yes, very much actually, thank you once again for the privilege."

"Not at all, you are highly recommended and have an outstanding track record."

"At least someone noticed." Just then Tatsumi felt that icy presence he knew far too well to be considered a good thing. The said person had came and was far closer than what he'd like.

"You called for me my emperor." She was looking at the boy out the corner ofher eye.

"Yes, general Tatsumi you are dismissed." The heavens had saved him from being near her too long. He might have been able to hold back with just one of them, but both of them will make him go mad with holding in the pent up anger.

As Tatsumi left the palace he saw the least social member of his group, "Kurome?" The said girl looked at him and back to the shop she was in front of, a slight frown was evident on her face as she examined her gold pouch. He would have found it comical, had it not been for how her behavior was over sweets. He could do nothing but sigh. Not really one to help those who weren't in a life or death situation, he made an exception for the girl. "Is there something I can help you with, you seem to be displeased."

Slowly lifting her eyes to meet his she pointed to her coin bag, "I don't have enough."

"I'll pay for it," he went for his bag and handed some coins to her. Kurome wasn't one who cared for money, in fact all she needed money for was to sate her sweets addiction. However, she knew what he handed her was a good amount. She looked back to tell him but he was already leaving. She'd thank him later with a cookie. She ran in and exited with a bag twice size and a new type of cookie with in the bag.

xxxxxxxx underground tunnels xxxxxxxxx

They'd been walking for a few minutes before they came to the spot where they separate. "Sayo, Hime, Kurome, I want all of you to listen to Ayumi as you would me." He turned to the said colonel, "remember wait a few minutes before commencing your attack."

The male trio was making their way to the hideout. The quietly had reared around a corner and found the base. They were positioned at a higher ground watching the way they buzzed around. It was amazing how so much could be happening with no one noticing. Supplies were being moved about people was coming in and passing along information. To those who were in higher command. There was was also people who were in robes which he guessed to be spies. In the event of this place being discovered they'd have nothing to give their torturers, in fact they probably masked their voice also.

"Incredible, I'd never suspected that something of this nature would exist right under our feet." Zard had more excitement than wonder or curiosity in his voice.

"Yes, these rebels are quite crafty. Well then let's get things moving." Tatsumi stood and activated Dakurura. "Vàlad if you wouldn't mind sending them our welcoming gift." Zard followed in suit and activated his teigu. Vàlad drew his blade and took a stance. With a swift swing he released a shock wave surprising everyone and killing a hand full of men. Blood, limbs, screams and orders filled the air. "Let the carnage begin."

Tatsumi and Zard had leapt down and begun their assault. Zard had been tearing the soldiers apart and sending the pieces flying through the air. Tatsumi had summoned a claymore and was cleaving soldiers apart. His movements without waste, his victims was a testament to the amount of mercy given. The rebels opted for gaining on him. As three had came from the back while two came from the front. He released the claymore and pulled a scythe from thin air. With one circular swing he bisected everyone who came at him. As he turned he sensed something coming at him he turned half way before being sent flying through the wall into a lower section of the tunnels. He had risen up to see a man covered by white metallic scales.

"Ho, ho, hook. Looks like I'm not the only one with a teigu that can manufacture weapons." He was swinging a large hammer that shimmered with scales like his armour.

Tatsumi could only sigh. "This is gonna be a long night."

While Tatsumi was engaging the scaly man, Zard had engaged a woman with a weird blade. It was the size of a short sword but seemed to be separated into segments. The blade was weird, "How the FUCK did she cut me." A diagonal wound was plastered on his chest, with blood seeping out of it. The woman grinned at him. She had a tanned complexion and black hair. She wore standard revolution gear.

Something the matter boy" she spoke tauntingly.

That straw broke the camel back. Zard lunged at her with fury in his eyes. She narrowly dodged to the left of him, he slammed his feet down and was about to use his momentum to go around for a second strike. However, as he was turning something shimmered in the corner of his eye and he was slung across the area with a new gash on his chest. As he pulled his battered body from the ruble he stared at the woman holding the blade as it was "Retracting, that sneaky Bitch! That's it I'm gonna beat her bloody" As Zard lunged at her he realized the grave mistake he made, as the blade had turned to segments and was enclosing on him. As a last ditched effort to lessen the damage he used his trump card which gave sub effect of a hardened body. A few segments pierced his back while the others bounced off, leaving minor scratches. "Damn, didn't expect that shit to break apart." He looked down to see that his blood was starting to leave his wounds faster. He looked up at the girl as she whipped the blood from her blade with a flick.

By now you should have realized that your bleeding has increased." She smirked again, that only served to piss off Zard much more, "My Jackal trump card is delayed destruction. As time progresses the damage felt will be doubled." She took her stance and held the blade horizontally levelled with her shoulders with the tip pointed at Zard, "This fight was over the moment you were hit."

"Ha...hahah...hahahahahhah. You know what girl that's rich." The girl frowned at him. Was he an idiot, had he not understood what she just said. Then she looked closer and realized the taunt behind those words. His wound was "Sealing, No that's not right his blood should be pouring out by now. His blood, its...its..its...Its clotting to prevent further blood loss!" The, in her mind, capital scum was not as brainless as he seemed. "He wasn't more elusive because he could backup the damage caused by such reckless fighting." The Jackal which is normally twelve segments now turned into twenty four as the segments split in half. She faced her palm towards Zard and pieces went straight for him. He'd begun zig zagging to get around her. The girl was completely oblivious the presence, or rather presences that was coming for her.

Zard smiled smugly at her , "You should learn to watch your back." She snapped her head around and willed the segments to come to her aid, but it was no use. As she finished turning a lance went through her abdomen, the said wielder had lunged back, the last thing she saw was a woman holding a pistol aimed at her head then the flash as the bullet exited the gun and exploded the left side of her head. As her body hit the cold ground of the underground area the Jackal clattered on the ground. Its black and gold hilt shimmering in the dimly lit place. Zard looked around the area and then to Kurome who was walking towards the body. "You know I didn't need your help."

Kurome just stared blankly at him, she then bent over and picked up the teigu that now had no one to call master. Soon the main hub of the tunnels went deafly quiet. From the entrance to the right Vàlad had emerged from. He was cloaked with splotches of blood clearly not his. From the back came Hime, Ayumi, and Sayo.

"Where is the general?" Zard was the one to ask what everyone was asking.

"There" everyone followed Kurome's finger, they saw Tatsumi emerging from a hole in the wall that lead to one of the many sub tunnels, he was holding a bloodied steel colored headband that had a scaly surface and texture to it.

"Mission complete Commander," Kurome said as she tossed the teigu to him. He looked it over and placed it inside his jacket. "Alright let's return."

AN: yes I know I said I was gonna do 3 MAJOR chapter of what's going on. Well to tell you the truth I thought for a while and realized that it would make no sense at all if two people got a teigu and was proficient with them without AT LEAST a week of training to know how they basically work.

Second, even if Zard stopped his injuries, which was due to his teigu (thanks again for posting him as an oc btw), its not like he can go jump into another fight with teigu involved.

"What the fuck you update this late for a short chapter that was basically Zard getting beat down and Kurome saving his ass?!"

Well yes and no. If you had the Ap chemistry teacher I have you'd realize why I update my minor stories more. Also I haven't exactly got a mindset of Tatsumi's fighting capacity since I dumbed down his teigu. Also I'm going to merge what's happening with Jubei wild hunt and the mysterious woman into 3 chapters. And if my dick of a chemistry teacher don't say "here do this over the top shit because I just wanna ruin your got damn free time" I'm gonna update in a bit. Bit meaning about 2.5 weeks. And considering I'm doing two other fics with my dick ap chemistry class I'd say that is great.

If any of you know how to use hypnosis give me a call. Maybe then I can focus on my fics while getting free A's in that class. Also one more thing. And I know I've asked a shit ton of those who read this already. Since Kurome mind isn't deluded by the drugs would she be more forceful in getting what she wants romantically. I've been thinking about it but can't seem to come to a clear conclusion. Thanks again for staying with my fic also.

As always review if you don't mind. :)
