Hello people, this here will mark the continuation of this story. I know you are probably tired of me saying this but, it will most likely not be the same as before. I have different ideas that I would like to implement and will most likely be slow at writing this story. So, sit back, enjoy and review so I know if you like it.
I was in Jasper's room. Shit!
Chapter 8
"Well hello little one." He said with a southern drawl.
Damn that accent
I didn't really want to come out of my hiding place because who knows when that pixie will come get me. I mean, I can totally handle myself, but you know, I need to keep an image. I still have many questions that need answers, lots more things I need to observe. But, I for some reason feel so safe around him, and that accent does wonders.
"Come on out little one, I won't let Alice take you if you don't want to go."
Is he reading my mind right now? Holy shit!
I cautiously crawled out from under the bed and jumped on top. I sat down looking at him, watching what he will do if I stayed. He just looked at me and shrugged.
"If you stay quiet, I guess you can stay." He stated.
He grabbed a book off one of his many bookshelves and sat in the beige chair in the corner. I looked at the clock and saw that it was 6:45 and decided that I had time to stay for a while. So, I started to walk around his bed looking for the softest place to lay down on. I spiraled around the bed until I found the perfect spot, and then I spun until I could see everything in the room while laying down. When I had finally found the correct spot and position, I looked back up and saw Jasper watching me intensely. He looked at me like "are you quite finished" and continued reading.
I laid there for a few minutes and looked back up to see him totally enthralled in the book he was reading. I wonder what had him so enticed, so I decided to push the boundaries a little. Feeling mischievous, I sat back up and jumped of the bed, little bell jingling on the collar, and sauntered up to his chair. I waited a few seconds until I pounced on to his lap, he just looked at me and went back to reading. I looked at his book and saw he was reading about the civil war, and there were little multicolored annotations in the margins. Some places were circled in green and in many places, there were names and whole paragraphs circled in red. This gave me the vague idea that he was around back then.
Add that to the mind mansion, under section Hot Cowboy.
By now the collar started to itch, so I sat back and used my back foot to try to scratch my neck. After a while he sighed and finally unclasped the hideous pink scrap of cloth and tossed it into the trash with scary accuracy. He looked at me with sad eyes and continued to read again. Confused as to what he could be sad about but I'm too small to do much if I wanted his attention, so I jumped on his chest. He folded the top right of a page and set the book down on the side table and looked at me. His eyes were still sad and a little confused, so I stretched my right paw and placed it on his nose. He looked at me with wonderment, and chuckled bitterly.
"You are a strange creature, little one. I remember reading somewhere that animals can sense emotions, so I guess you are kinda like me." He whispered.
I wonder he meant so I humored him and crawled up on his shoulders and nuzzled his neck. He seemed stunned that I would do that, so he stopped all movement. I didn't really like to see him like this, all sad and scared, I put my paw on his cheek and he flinched. It was like he was afraid to make a wrong move, to hurt me on accident. Even though I don't do emotions, I decided to test what he said, so I put my paw on his cheek and poured as much assurance and trust into him as I could. He started to relax and breath, he looked at me perplexed. He hesitantly brought up a hand to pet my hand, he stopped right before my face, like he was asking permission. I sniffed his hand, and again he went still, and that for some reason hurt me. I licked his hand and nudged it, all the while sending him trust to tell him that he doesn't scare me, that it's okay. He picked me up and just gazed at me with wonder and love that it projected unto me. His eyes were still kind of scared.
Hey stop being a mopey little shit!
I wanted to do something that would show him that I trust him wholly, I once again reached to his face and he held me closer and then I stretched up and licked his nose. He froze and I could see his mind going a mile a minute, then suddenly he started to chuckle and that grew into a loud boisterous laugh that I can't believe I went my whole life without it.
"Wow little one, you are just smallest therapist in the world aren't you." He chuckled.
Then the door opened showing a very tense pixie.
Hey everyone, I hope this is up to par with what I had done years ago. How do you think I did? Dreadful? Troll? I will work on longer chapters, but this is just a small bit to help get my creative juices flowing again. Until next time,
Monster
