Chapter ten

Larmina POV

I can't believe that I have to choose to marry Chris or not to. I can't let him kill Daniel. I thought to myself. I have a few months but I can't help but feel unsure by this. I walked back into the room where Aunt Allura was waiting for me.

"Well what did he want?" She asked me. I hesitated before answering.

"He says that Chris wants to married me but he said if I say no he is going kill Daniel." I saw her open her mouth to say something but I cut her off. "No, I don't tell them yet. Not until I decide on marrying him or not." She sighed but nodded.

We walked out to see the force and Max looked at us. Daniel walked up to me. "What did Chase want?" He spat the name out like it was poison. I looked at him hoping to reassure him.

"Nothing. He wanted nothing." I told him but I knew he didn't believe me by the way his eyes narrowed. He nodded anyway before kissing me on the cheek and walking back to his room to get ready for dinner. I sighed and went to my room as well. I went to and showered and got ready for dinner.

When I got there I saw Keith and Aunt Allura talking about something. After a few minutes the rest of the force came in for dinner. After we ate we started to talk when I saw Daniel nodded to Keith. Keith looked nervous but stood up.

"I have announcement to make." We all turned to Keith as he walked over to Aunt Allura and got down on one knee. I gasp and as he pulled out a box and opened it to show a five karat ring. "Allura I have loved you ever since I meet you. Will you marry me?"

She didn't even hesitate. "Yes I will!" She cried out before kissing him. He slipped the ring on and we all started to clap. That night I went to bed the thought of marriage in my head.

Daniel POV

I thought Larmina was off tonight during dinner but I decide not to ask her. I was glad Keith asked Allura to marry him. He would be a good husband and king one day. I thought about Chase that night. I knew something was up. I wished she would tell me what's wrong. I thought frustrated. I sighed and tried to sleep that night.

I woke the next morning and decide to get up. I showered and changed into my cadet uniform. I walked to the training room and brought up the hologram Lotor. I did a few jabs at it and some kicks at him. He attacked back quickly so I tried to bob and weave with no help. I felt his punch hit me hard in the face and I flew back a few feet.

"Hologram off." I heard a voice say. I sat up to see a very amused Lance and a concerned father.

"You ok Daniel?" My father asked. I nodded and stood up. I felt dizzy for a minute than it left me. I walked over to them.

"Next time keep your hands up closer to your face." Lance said before leaving. My father turned to me.

"You know Daniel I got to leave today. Are you sure you don't want to come back to Airspeed with me?" He asked.

"I belong here father. My head tells me to go back to the planet to be the duke, yet my heart says to stay for now." I said to him. He smiled and pulled me into a hug.

"Your mother would be of you. You choose to follow your heart. Not your head." He laughed gently and gave me another hug. "I love you my son. I need to go get ready, I leave in an hour." I nodded and hugged him back. I sighed as he walked away.

Time skip. A few months later before Larmina has to tell Chris if she is going to marry him or not.

I after dinner that night I saw Keith looked at me. We had gone shopping for a ring for me so I can ask Larmina to marry me. I stood up. "I have something to say." I walked to Larmina and took her hand. "Larmina we been dating for a while now and we are going to be sixteen soon. Will you give me the honor of marring me?" I asked as I pulled out the ring. She hesitated.

"No I can't do it Daniel. I don't love you anymore." I felt my heart break at that. What she doesn't love me anymore. I felt her pull her hand out of mine. I kneeled there numb as I watch her run away.

Allura looked at me, stood up and went after her niece. Keith placed a hand on my back and steered me to my room. I laid down on my bed and cried. How could she not love me anymore? I thought. That night that what haunted my dreams, Larmina saying she didn't love me.

I woke the next day and walked down to the training room only on the way to run into Larmina. "Daniel, I'm so sorry." She whispered. I looked at her and shook my head.

"Yeah, me too." I walked away from her and out to the lake where we use to go. I sat down with a breeze going through my hair and the wind on my face. I heard someone come up behind me and turned to see it was Keith.

"Hey Keith." I said my voice quiet.

"You ok?" He asked me turning so he could look at my face. I hid my face and shook my head no. He wrapped me in a hug.

"Keith what would you have done if Allura said she wouldn't want to marry you?" He took a deep breath than let it out.

"I don't know Daniel. I would try to fight for her. Try to get her to see what she missed." I could tell he didn't know what to do.

"Thanks Keith. That kind of helped." I did help me a little. Starting today I will try to win her back. We walked back to the castle only to see Chris and his guards there waiting for someone.

After a few minutes the rest of the force came in except for Larmina. Keith called Larmina on his voltcom and she came in. She looked at us confused then her face showed understanding. Chris smirked in my direction then walked over to Larmina and got down on one knee.

No he isn't doing that. Please don't say yes. I thought. He pulled out a box opening it to see engagement ring in it. "Larmina will you marry me?"

I saw Allura and Larmina share a look before she cried out with joy. "Yes Chris I will marry you." Then she did last thing I knew would break my heart even more. She kissed him.

I felt my world freeze. I ran out of the room and outside just as it started to rain. I felt tears run down my face mixing with the rain. I ran to the cliff over the lake and feel to my knees. "How could she do this to me?" I screamed.

"Daniel." A soft voice said. I turned to see Allura standing there watching me. "Come on. The force can't let you get sick." She placed a hand on my back and helped me up.

"Allura can I ask you something?" She nodded. "Do you know why Larmina won't marry me but she will marry Chris." She hesitated then nodded.

"She told me why but I can't tell you." I nodded not understanding what it was that couldn't let her marry me. We walked back to the castle and I showered and laid down to rest. The last thing I thought of was how I was going to win her back.
