Finally a new chapter! It's been so long I know.
Seeing "200" got me thinking about all the opportunities for stories, JJ/M stories of course as a result of what JJ went through in the episode. But I figured it best to get this one done before I get started on any of those ideas. Now don't worry this isn't the last chapter. ;) I've taken and put too much time into this story to just ended quickly so I can get started on something new. No rest assured I am going to take my time finishing this one…it deserves the attention. ;)
As he lay his clothes on the bed Morgan could hear the tell-tale sound of running water indicating JJ had started her shower. Attempting to think of anything but the woman of his desire naked on the other side of the door Morgan went about tidying up the room and his things.
"Just keep busy" he thought to himself as he rubbed the imaginary wrinkles out of his dinner shirt. When that task was finished he tried reading one of the magazines JJ had brought into the room. No such luck. Nothing he tried seem to work because within moments of beginning the task his mind floated to JJ.
After what seemed like forever JJ finally emerged from the bathroom and Morgan couldn't have been happier. That is until he saw what she was wearing. JJ hadn't taken her clothes into the bathroom with her so the only thing she was clad in was a white towel. And oh how badly Morgan wished he was that towel.
He couldn't help the frustrated growl that escaped his lips as he drank her in. The drops off water she hadn't yet rubbed dry slid slowly down her upper arms, her matted her hair that clung to her damp skin, the tops of her breasts which shown just above the towel line; all these things sent Morgan's heart racing and made his skin hot and tingly. For a brief moment he thought he saw a stray smile grace her lips but he couldn't be sure.
"It's all yours" JJ said as he moved past with her being sure to grab his clothes before he did. She could feel the tension coming off his body in waves as his eyes skimmed over her partially nude body. She had to admit it made her feel good to know she could throw a calm cool collected guy like Derek Morgan off his game. "I made sure to leave you some hot water" she said as he walked by
"Don't worry it will be a cold one" he muttered as walked briskly past her toward the sanctity of the bathroom.
JJ let out a chuckle as soon as she heard the door click shut. She wasn't sure why but she just felt like she needed to have a little fun with him. She surprised herself actually. That she had the guts to take such an initiative and be so bold. Maybe she was ready after all.
After he closed the door Morgan went over to the vanity and took in the reflection of the man staring back at him. Never before had any woman reduced him to a muttering pile of goo just upon seeing that woman in nothing but a towel. Then again, no other woman had the effect Jennifer Jareau had on him and as far as he was concerned there was no other woman like her.
"Definitely a cold shower" he said to himself as he turned the water in the shower to cold.
The moment he opened the bathroom door and exited Morgan wanted to crawl back into the shower clothes and all when he saw JJ bent over in front of the dresser applying her eyeliner. But that wasn't the sight that made him want to crawl back into the shower. What currently has his total transfixed attention was the sight of her exposed bare skin through the completely unzipped back of her very form fitting dress. The opening went the expanse of her back stopping just above the curve of her taut ass. An ass that no matter what she wore caught his attention daily but tonight the tight black fabric clung even tighter to the curve of her body.
Averting his gaze Morgan quickly covered the short distance to his bed where his opened luggage with the rest of his clothes lay. He'd almost made it too but his masculine curiosity won out and with just one or two steps left he turned his head to sneak a peek. The sight stopped him dead in his tracks. He licked his lips as his eyes drank in her perfectly smooth skin, an untarnished glistening masterpiece he wanted nothing more than to reach out and run his hands down.
JJ could feel his eyes on her the moment he left the bathroom. The decision to leave her dress unzipped was both planned and impulsive. She wanted him to see that she was ready for him to be close to her to be intimate. Yet it was impulsive on her part because she was still afraid to let another man in. It was that very reason she hoped from where he stood he couldn't see the shaking of her hands as she applied the liner to eye. Out of the corner of her eye she watched as his licked his lips and let his eyes roam over body. She couldn't help the shiver that rippled down her spine in response to his gaze.
Summoning the courage she set down the eyeliner, again hoping he wouldn't see the shaking of her hands and looked up at him through the mirror "Can you zip me up?"
"Sure" he nodded. As he watched her approach him he could tell while she was nervous she had planned this. She was going out on a limb for him, putting herself out there and he was ready to oblige her in this situation.
He watched her through the mirror as he ran his hands down the edges of the opened dress until he reached the zipper and reveled in the shiver he felt go throughout her body. He leaned in close being sure to breathe heavily on her neck and smiled when he saw her close her eyes and tilt her head to one side accommodating his presence.
Neither said anything instead choosing to stand there in silence enjoying the closeness this moment brought the two of them. After a long moment Morgan pulled away leaving just enough space for his hands to slowly and agonizingly draw the zipper up where once at the top he let his hands linger along her neck line, his feather light touch tracking along her shoulders and down her upper arms before coming to a stop just above her elbows. The temperature in the room had risen about 5 degrees.
JJ muttered a weak "thank you" before stepping away so she could finish applying her make up. After she saw him turn away from her JJ let out a heavy breath to settle her frayed nerves. Wow was all her fogged up brain could come up with.
Hearing JJ sigh Morgan couldn't help but smile knowing he had garnered the reaction he set out to get. Play with fire girl…
The two finished getting ready for dinner in silence, the sexual tension hanging heavily in the air like a dense fog.
Shane casually walked down the hall to his bedroom being sure to smile at anyone he came across as not to arouse suspicion like Detective Tane had instructed him. Since meeting with him and the agents from the FBI he felt as if the eyes of everyone at the compound were on him, as if they all somehow knew what he was doing.
Feeling relief wash over him as he reached the door to his room he quickly turned the knob and hastily stepped inside his small sanctuary. Saying hello to his roommate who was hunched over in his chair at the lone desk they shared Shane tumbled onto his bed.
He stared at the ceiling attempting to relax as he contemplated the extremely dangerous situation he had put himself in an effort to aid the police and FBI in their quest to bring down the Shaw's. He had come to the decision to help very easily. His parents after all had taught him to always do the right thing, to help those in need. Every kid plays cops and robbers with their friends and now here he was finally getting to play it for real. Unfortunately, he hadn't been prepared for the task of keeping such a secret to himself and it was starting to weigh heavily on him. He constantly wrestled with the idea of telling his roommate just in case something should happen to him so at least someone would know and tell his family of the good thing he was trying to do.
However, after seeing how poorly his roommate was at keeping secrets he opted against telling him anything, related to the case or not. Sure he was a great guy, fun to hang out with and a good friend to him but a secret keeper he wasn't. Speaking of his roommate Shane had just realized that while he had said hello to him, Collin had completely ignored him.
Rolling onto his side Shane craned his neck around to see what it was that had his friend so entranced. "Hey man what are you doing?" No reply. Rolling his eyes Shane stood and looked over Collin's shoulder and what he saw made his world dropped out from under him. There sitting at their desk his roommate was methodically counting out Ecstasy pills. Pills he didn't have when they got up for work this morning.
"Dude, where did you get those?" Shane asked as grabbed Collin's arm to get to stop what he was doing and pay attention to him.
"Where I usually get them, Shane" he replied wrenching his arm out of his roommates hold before going back to his previous task
Shane could hear his heart pounding between his ears as his mind raced with the implications of what Collin had just told him. If Collier already made his run for the drugs the Shaw's used on their guests then the two FBI agents undercover on the grounds were definitely in danger of being dosed. Putting the pieces together Shane came to conclusion that Collier must have made his run while he was meeting with the police. But why would he go so early? Unless…
"Jeez man. What's gotten into you?" Collin asked as he watched Shane pace back and forth. "Here have one, it'll calm you down"
Shane looked at the outstretched of his roommate to his watch to check the time. Without saying a word he rushed out of their room hoping and praying he wasn't too late. Hoping and praying he hadn't failed.
"Suit yourself dude" Collin yelled after him. "Can't let you go to waste now can I?" he said to pill in his palm before he popped it into his mouth and dry swallowed it. "Party time."
Morgan had to admit he was actually kind of enjoying himself. Knowing the drugs hadn't been delivered yet allowed him to relax and enjoy dinner and the company of the woman sitting next to him. As if reading his thoughts JJ turned and gave him a small smile. Taking a chance Morgan took her hand that had been resting on the table in his. After a tense moment he was rewarded with her grip tightening in his and an even bigger smile from JJ.
The conversation too was even bearable. Some of the other couples had told jokes and stories from their past that at times weren't all too flattering. One of the husbands told a story how he accidentally walked in his future mother in law while she was in the bathroom during the weekend visit where he met them for the first time. He'd compounded matters by knocking over and breaking a glass vase on his way out and actually stopping to clean it up. All the while his future mother in law yelling at him to get out. He even did a not so good imitation of the woman's "get out" voice.
Soon after that story was finished another couple jumped in with one of their own. It was about this time JJ began to feel a little uneasy. She couldn't quite place what the sensation was or where it was coming from. She simply felt antsy. Then again she hadn't been at ease since this case began so she figured it was just that she was finally letting herself relax a little that put her in an uneasy state. She wasn't used to relaxing.
"You ok?" Morgan whispered in her ear
"Yeah" she whispered through a smile "just a little antsy that's all"
Morgan gave a little squeeze to her hand before turning his attention back to the ongoing conversation. Unbeknownst to JJ he too had started to feel as if something was 'off' but just like her he couldn't place the sensation.
Shane moved as quickly as could through the halls of the compound without drawing attention to himself. He'd been too late getting to the agents room to warn them to be careful of what they ingested at dinner. And he wasn't able to get close to the dining hall without drawing attention to himself so he was kicking himself for being too slow. Feeling his cell phone in his pocket Shane knew he had to chance it.
Changing direction he decided to head for a secluded spot on the compound property where he felt he could safely make a call to Detective Tane to warn him and the FBI about the change in time the Shaw's time table. As he cut through one of the classrooms in order to get outside he still couldn't figure out why Shaw had pushed up the timing of everything. Did he suspect who Agents Morgan and Jareau truly were? Did he suspect him of talking to the police? That last thought turned his stomach inside out and sent his paranoia level skyrocketing. Anxiously looking around and seeing no one had followed him he climbed out the window and set about to try and calm himself as best he could without having a total breakdown.
After getting as calm as he thought he could be Shane continued along the outside of the main building constantly being sure to look over his shoulder to make sure he alone. He'd been so busy looking behind him that he didn't see who was in front of him until it was too late and he was ass on pavement.
"Aren't you supposed to be in the laundry room?" the very imposing guard asked as he looked down on Shane
"Uh yeah. Yeah I am" And he was. In order to have been able to sneak out the night before to meet with Detective Tane he'd switched shifts in the laundry room with another worker.
"Well you aren't there because?"
Think Shane he said to himself as he picked himself up off the pavement"I uh came out for a cigarette and I know the Shaw's don't like us cutting through the main areas during dinner so I figured I'd take a short cut" he tried to smile to make his lie more believable and prayed the guard would too
"And did you?"
"Did I what?"
"Did you have your cigarette?"
"Oh uh yeah I did"
The guy eyed him suspiciously for a moment before reminding him he wasn't supposed to be outside at this hour and telling him to get back to the laundry room.
Shane quickly nodded and ran off in the direction of the laundry room. He'd failed. There was no way now to warn the agents or the Detective of what was happening. The only thing he could hope and pray for was that too much damage wasn't being done because of his failure to react in time.
For his part the guard had suspicions regarding Shane so he made sure to radio his colleagues and tell them to keep a closer eye on the kid. Something didn't smell quite right.
So what did you all think? Please be sure to review! And I promise the next chapter will have all the juicy stuff you fellow JJ/M shippers have been patiently waiting for! ;)
