A/N: I want to take a moment to thank Twi, of TwiLanes. Even though I'm a little flakey, she's always here for me and that means more than I could ever tell her. Especially during the rough times of the real world - it's nice to have a friendly face to turn too, and someone to talk with. She is an amazing person and an amazing writer!
"Did you hear?" Breaths a pony, nameless and faceless. "The daughter of that banker has gone missing!"
Her companion lowers her voice, words a hiss in the cafe. "I know! Can you imagine, giving up that sort of life?"
A snort. A laugh. An unending sea of words, hateful and spiteful and so clueless.
It makes Silver Spoon sick, and she stares down at her plate without interest. Pushes around a leaf of spinach with her fork, gaze resting on the duo of mares in the booth across from her.
They don't know anything, she thinks, certainly nothing about Diamond Tiara.
Because if they did, then they would know that the mare isn't missing; she's run away.
Because if they did, then they wouldn't want her life; with the endless rules and constant judgement.
Because if they did, then they would understand why she left; with the prospect of a wedding in her future and a dream of finding her true love about to end.
Because if they did, then the thought of not knowing where she was at? It would bring tears to their eyes, just like it did Silver Spoon.
"I bet," says the first mare, louder now, more excited. "I bet that she isn't actually missing! This is just some big publicity stunt!"
"A stunt?" Echoes the second mare.
The first one nods - and Silver Spoon has left her money and vanished from the booth before hearing what wild conclusion this pony has thought up.
She's heard enough rumor from ponies who don't know.
