The day after, Runa's dad came back and they went back to the Twilight Province. That following Monday, Jaaku was called to the headmaster's office. He walked in.

"Hello, Jaaku. Please take a seat." Jaaku quietly took a seat. "Do you know why I called you down here?"

"No."

"Well, you should. On Friday, I got a report from a teacher saying there were some high school kids you bullied and made them run away."

"They used to go to this school. Back when I was in 1st grade, they almost drowned me."

"Really? And you didn't tell anyone?"

"I did try to, but no one believed me. My friend Runa tried to help."

"Runa, Runa Yugure?"

"Yes. Sadly he's no longer here. He moved back to his family province on Saturday, sir."

"I see. So, with no alibi, this isn't looking very good for you."

"So, what are you going to do?"

"I'm going to keep asking more questions. How long have those boys been bullying you?"

"Since the end of Kindergarten. I finally stood up for myself against them. Yet it was at the wrong time. I shouldn't get in trouble for standing up for myself. Especially some older boys."

"Listen, Jaaku, you seem like a good kid, but I'm afraid I have no choice but to expel you."

"What?!" Jaaku stood up. "Why?! I didn't do anything wrong! I just wanted to stand up for myself for once! That's not a crime!"

"Jaaku, I will call your mother to talk to me about it. Please sit out in the hall."

"This is not fair…" Jaaku walked out of the room and sat down in a chair in the hall. He kept looking down at the ground. He was trying his best not to cry. About a half hour, his mom arrived. She didn't look happy, but instead of talk to him, she walked into the office.

"You wanted to see me, Headmaster?"

"Yes, please shut the door behind you and take a seat." The door shut and Jaaku was sitting there alone.

"It truly is unfair. I've seen it all. People now a days. I can't stand them, but they truly are amusing."

"I guess… I just wish… they'd listen to me… no one ever listens to me… I feel so lonely…"

"That's why you should just not care about these damned fools."

"Hmm…" There was a lot of silence for a long time until his mom walked back out.

"Come on honey, let's go home." Jaaku said nothing, but just stood up and followed his mom. They walked out of the building and to her car parked close to the front door. They went ahead and got in. "Jaaku, why didn't you tell me you were being bullied?"

"I didn't want you to worry…"

"Jaaku, if someone is bullying you, you need to let someone know. You're a strong, independent young man, but you can't let that blind you when you need help."

"No one would believe me. They didn't. I got expelled."

"The Headmaster expelled you because he wanted a reason for us to move away from here. He thinks you'll be better at a different school. So, we're going to find a new school for you and move into that area. Hopefully you can make a new friend."

"Doubt it. Runa's gone. He was my only friend. He's the only friend I've ever had and ever will have."

"You don't know that, honey. Just wait and see. You never know. You might meet someone who you can depend on to always be there for you and in return you'll be there for them."

"I already had that friend, mom and he left me. He was my best friend and now he's gone."

"I'm positive you'll make another friend, Jaaku. You just have to give others a chance."

"No. I've tried before and Runa is the only one I was friends with because I didn't know what I knew in Kindergarten. Leave someone alone when you don't know who they are. That's the best way to survive." Nabooru sighed. She knew there was no point in keeping up the argument.

After a few days, Nabooru found a new school for Jaaku. He was soon enrolled and they quickly packed to move there. Karine saw them off as they left, feeling sad that her sister was now leaving, but they would always keep in touch.

That following Monday, Jaaku attended his new school. He was standing in the door. The class inside was rowdy and loud.

"Class, settle down. We have a new student today. Come here, child." Jaaku walked forward. A lot of people were staring at him, which made him very uncomfortable. "Students, this is Jaaku Tani. Jaaku, can you go sit by Link over there. Link, raise your hand young lady." A girl rolled her eyes and rose her hand. Jaaku just adjusted his bag and went to sit next to the girl known as Link.

"Welcome to our school." She said. Jaaku only grunted a small response and began to look out the window.

"Now, where did the Hero of Time life as a child and how did he get there?" A lot of students rose their hand, but the teacher called on Link. "Miss Rinku?"

"I'd appreciate if you didn't call me Miss, Mrs. Koyo." Link said. "But, during the Hylian civil war, a mother and her infant fled to escape the war. The mother was injured but still made it to the Forest she wanted to get to, so her child would at least be safe. She died shortly after arriving at Kokiri forest, after the Great Deku King said he'd protect her child. He was raised by one of the forest children, Saria, until he was the age of 9."

"Well, that's certainly a lot of detail…" The teacher said. Link sighed.

"I talk about a lot of what I care about. My father raised me on the stories of the Heroes."

"Is that so? Then maybe your father should teach this class someday."

Once recess came around, Jaaku just sat along the side, poking a patch of mud with a stick. Link walks over.

"Hey." Link says. Jaaku then looks up.

"What do you want?" He asked bitterly. He didn't want to be there, he didn't want to even try to make friends.

"It's pretty lonely huh, playing by yourself?" Link asked.

"What of it. Get lost, girly." Jaaku said.

"I'm not girly! My name's Link for your information. I'm not sure how people were to you in the past, but I can assure you I'm not like them. I'm one of a kind, just like you, Jaaku." She holds her hand out to him and Jaaku looks at it hesitantly. He isn't quite sure about this. He made a really great friend, but when his friend left, it was like a part of him left. "I'll be your friend if you'll be my friend too. A friend that's true." Jaaku dropped the stick and took Link's hand. She pulled him up then poked his shoulder. "Tag, you're it." She takes off running.

"Hey!" He starts chasing her around the playground and manages to grab her. They both fell over and sprawled out on the grass, both out of breath. Jaaku even laughs a little. "That was fun."

"I'm glad you had fun." Link says, smiling. Jaaku saw a patch of mud and got an idea.

"You know what else is fun?" He scooped some mud up.

"Hmm?" Link hummed. He threw it at her and it splattered all over her face. He starts laughing and did not notice Link picked up some mud, then she threw it at his face. It splatters everywhere. She starts laughing and Jaaku throws more mud. They keep throwing mud at eachother until Jaaku gets up and takes off running for the sand pit. Link quickly follows with mud in her hands. She tried throwing it at him, but misses. Link manages to tackle him and they wrestle around in the sand pit, kicking sand everywhere. Two teachers and a few students came to separate them. The two new friends begin laughing hysterically. The mud made the sand stick to them, so they were covered in sand and mud.

"Not bad for a girl." Jaaku commented. The teachers and students backed up.

"I'm not a girl really. I am a girl, but I'm more like one of the guys. I can promise you that." Link holds her hand out to him and he takes it, smiling. Jaaku thought about how wrong he probably was, that he probably made a friend who would be just as good as Runa, maybe even better. He would just have to see. The two had to go home and get cleaned up. Link's dad came to get her first. His eyes widened and his mouth gapped.

"Link, what happened to you?" He laughed a little.

"I made a new friend, Dad."

"That's great, but what does that have to do with you being a complete mess?"

"Reasons." The man furrowed his eyebrows and perked his ears back.

"That's him! That's the chosen hero! He killed me!" Jaaku heard his dad's voice loudly. "We will have to tell your mother right away."

"This is him." Link said, pointing at Jaaku. Her dad looked at him. He was just as mud and sand covered as Link. "His name is Jaaku Tani. Right?"

"Y-Yea. It's nice to meet you, sir."

"It's nice to meet you as well. I'm Raven Rinku. Well, Link, we better get going on home and get you cleaned up. Ayru is probably looking forward to it." Link smiled at the mention of their new puppy. Raven held his hand out to his daughter.

"Bye bye, Jaaku. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Goodbye." Link and Raven went to their car and got in just as his mom arrived. She walked up to him.

"Baby, what happened to you?" Jaaku smiled.

"I made a new friend. Anyway, that's not important. Dad and I need to talk to you about something." They got in the car and Jaaku told her what his dad was telling him to say.

Once Jaaku and his mom got home, Jaaku took a shower and they discussed about what they were going to do.

"Mom, I don't want her to die. She may be a good friend for me. She may be a girl but she acts like one of the guys."

"Awhile back, when you were very young, we came up with a plan."

"What?"

"We want you to get very close to the girl. Get as close as you possibly can and once the time comes and she is in a more weakened state, we will control her and get our revenge."

"Control her…? How?"

"Just leave that to your father. All you have to do is play the part and be her friend. You can have her once it's all done."
